Two days after his conversation with Xavier, Logan was back in Westchester. Has it been only nine months since he was gone? Hell, it felt much longer. It was a little after ten at night when he quietly pushed his motorcycle into the garage. If it were up to him, he wouldn't have returned, but it wasn't about him right now. Jubilee needed him and he would stay until she was back to the talkative loveable girl who had snuck past his defenses and carved a place for herself in his heart. He wasn't sure what his reception would be given the circumstances of how he left, but he'll be lying if he said he cared how or if they received him. He was only here for Jubilee for as long as she needed him. Though Jubilee's plight remained at the forefront of his mind, thoughts of Ororo had found ways to flood his mind as well.

A soft growl made its way through his mouth as he secured the cycle and grabbed his lone duffel bag. With it still being early in the night, and not in the mood to talk to anyone, he silently made his way towards the back entrance that led to the adult wing of the dormitories. Once in his old room, he glanced around getting reacquainted with the layout. He laid the bag at the foot of the bed before reaching out to Charles to let him know he was in the building, though he was sure the nosy baldhead man already knew he was back. He swiftly undressed and took a quick shower to wash the traveling grime and dirt off his body. Downing a sweat suit, he had left all those months ago, he quickly took the least known path down to the medical bay.

Nothing could have prepared him for the sight of the once scared Asian girl he had rescued from a mutant testing facility. If he wasn't a strong man, he would have collapsed at the sight. The spitfire who had struck a chord in him seven years ago was now reduced to a prone bandaged form who was being kept alive by machines. Seeing her like this roused his animal and his harsh growl was enough to startle poor Hank who was engrossed in reading her latest test results.

Once Hank caught himself, he was off the chair and greeting Logan enthusiastically. Any other time, Logan would have laughed at the sight.

"How is she Furball?" He greeted the doctor without preamble.

"I am so happy you are back, Logan. We need you more than ever."

Logan looked on in confusion. What the hell was this geek talking about?

Hank continued when he saw Logan's confusion. "I need your plasma."

"Plasma? What fer?"

"Didn't Charles explain everything to you?"

"All he said was she's on life support." Logan shook his head. "I guess I didn't give him the chance ta go inta detail. I just hightailed it here."

"We administered a vial of your plasma that we had in storage, and she had a positive reaction to it. You, my friend, we believe is the key to saving her."

Logan didn't even think. "What'd ya need from me?"

"Your plasma as I said before. Some of her physical injuries healed a little with the addition of your plasma. I believe if we administer more, her injuries will heal for the most part. But we cannot waste time."

"Do what ya have ta do, Furball. Take as much as ya need."

Hank sighed in relief. He didn't know what to expect once Charles had told him he had barely managed to contact Logan and that the old mutant was on his way back to Westchester. "Thank you, Logan. Your willingness to do this is going to streamline the process. Have you eaten anything? Because we can do a continuous drip, which will be easier."

Hank grinned as he busied himself getting everything he needed. He also contacted the Professor to let him know that they were going to start the "Wolverine therapy" now.

Logan attempted to make sense of the words that were rushing out of Hank's mouth. "I'll be alright, Hank. Healin' factor remember? Now, answer me. How is she?"

The doctor paused. Turning to the most dangerous man on the planet, he said frankly, "Honestly, I do not know. The explosion did extensive damage, both internally and externally. The fact that she hasn't regain consciousness bothers me a great deal. The next forty-eight hours are crucial and should tell us much going forward."

The slump in Logan's shoulders was telling. "Whatever ya need from me ta save her, just let me know and do it."

Hank nodded solemnly, but inwardly he was brimming with excitement, knowing that if his theory about Logan's regenerative powers proved correct, Jubilee will be awake soon.

As Hank was prepping Logan to begin the transfusion, Xavier came in. He immediately went to where Logan was sitting and clasp his shoulders. "Welcome back, my friend."

Logan nodded at Charles in acknowledgement. He barely paid attention to Hank's explanation to Xavier, as he was focused on clutching Jubilee's left hand, silently willing her to wake up so she can annoy him as she loved to do. He thought of the first time he had met her. He was on an undercover mission for Charles, where he allowed himself to be captured by a wannabe anti-mutant group and taken to their mutant testing facility. Those idiots were novices in every sense of the word, never understanding the true power of the Wolverine. He wasn't the most dangerous man on the planet for nothing. When all was said and done, he had singlehandedly brought down the rogue organization, freeing roughly twenty-six mutants, the scared, malnourished Asian girl one of them. Logan didn't know what it was about the girl that caused his heart to immediately open to her, but she had stuck to him like glue at the mansion for months after her rescue. Over the years, their relationship had bloomed, and she became his de facto daughter.

Now gazing down at her, what caused his heart to open to her the first time, flared up and he knew then and there that he now had two missions. One, he wasn't going to leave until she was back to herself and two, he was going to bring down the Church of Humanity. They were going to pay dearly for hurting a member of his pack and damn anyone who stood in his way. He leaned his forehead down on the bed, the history of their relationship going through his head.

"Alright Logan, we are ready to begin." Hank's words brought him back to the matter at hand.

Logan looked up and both men were stunned to see his obvious agony. "Whenever yer ready, Blue."

Over the next hour, Hank collected a substantial amount of plasma from the Wolverine. His obvious exhaustion once the process was done and entreaties from Hank and Charles for him to get nourishment and rest didn't stop him from leaving Jubilee's side.

"I'll be fine. I'll grab a few winks here," he assured them. "Just focus on gettin' Jubes better."

Once Hank was finished setting up the continuous drip of the collected plasma for his patient, he brought Logan a pillow and blanket, knowing that the man was going to spend his time watching over his surrogate daughter. With a final look at them, Hank followed Xavier out the room, quietly closing the door.

Logan sat there all night holding her hand and talking to her, only taking a break to relieve himself and doze off when he couldn't keep his eyes open much longer. Unfortunately, there was no change in Jubes' condition.

A little after eight the next morning, Jean entered the room, barely paying attention to anything except the papers she held in her hand. The papers floated to the floor and a gasp of surprise echoed in the still room when she beheld the Wolverine. He had maneuvered himself, so his head rested next to Jubilee's, and he still held her hand. She looked around to ensure she was in the right place. She even pinched herself. Logan didn't even blink or move, his hyper senses long notifying him that she was on her way to the room.

"Logan?" She whispered, her heartbeat picking up pace. Her eyes never left him as she bent to retrieve the papers. Whatever she was expecting, this wasn't it. She never expected to see him in the flesh after the Thanksgiving debacle. Reaching out to him had proved futile as he had rejected her every attempt to contact him. Now that she was getting an actual glimpse of him, an inexplicable peace began to spring to life. Knowing his true feelings regarding her had helped her resolved whatever lingering feelings she harbored for the feral and the cracks in her relationship with Scott. With his return, would the solid ground she and Scott were now on be tested? She guessed only time will tell.

"Red."

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she stood, clutching the papers to her chest as useless protection. Protection from what exactly? She couldn't say.

He offered no reply but stood to stretch his muscles. He looked down at Jubilee and back at the redhead. His stare could have bore a hole through her.

Jean lowered her eyes when his stare got too much for her. "I didn't know you returned."

Logan shrugged and walked past her to get to the hidden refrigerator Hank kept stocked with bottles of water. Downing two bottles quickly, he tossed the bottles in the trash and went back to his seat. Ignoring Jean, he focused on Jubilee.

"Logan?" Jean hissed, when his lack of response got too much for her.

"Not now, Red," he growled.

"Fine. But you shouldn't be in here while she recovers."

Logan tossed her a look that basically told her where to go with her hissy fit.

With a dirty look of her own, she turned on her heels and left the room in a huff. Logan shook his head. She was no doubt on her way to tattle about him being back.
