The sixth day of Toon Link's potty calendar challenge did not start well at all. Despite allowing Pit to wake him up to pee in the middle of the night, the fierce sound of rain outside the window of Cabin B had ensured that he didn't even make it that far without an accident. They'd change his sheets and gotten him back to sleep, but this morning...

"Looks like another rainy day, huh Link?" Pit said, staring out the window.

Hiding under his covers, Toon Link quietly cried to himself. He looked up at the now nearly full calendar. 9 rainclouds, with 2 being from last night alone. On the entire calendar, he now only had 2 suns on there, 1 from the day and 1 from the night. Technically there were 4, but one had an asterisk drawn on it and the other had a faint cloud hovering in front of it.

And that's not even to mention the thunder cloud that had appeared on yesterday's slot next to his two rain clouds...

"So uh...are you ready to talk about yesterday?" Pit asked.

Toon Link rolled over in bed violently, bringing his covers above his head. He didn't want to lay in his own pee like this but… anything was better than talking about that.

"Look, you can't lay there forever, it's gotta be cold by now…" Pit said with a tone of concern, climbing the ladder and sitting strategically at the foot of Toon Link's bed.

"It was nothing!" Toon Link mumbled into his pillow, scrunching up even further.

"I asked Dark Pit about it," Pit started, "He said the second accident wasn't even your fault. And as for pooping your pants, I know you didn't mean to-"

"I never meant to pee them either!" Toon Link piped up, finally turning over to face Pit with hot tears in his eyes.

"I didn't say otherwise!" Pit insisted, suddenly on the defensive.

Toon Link relaxed a bit, pulling off his wet blanket and staring down defeatedly at his wet pajamas.

Pit leaned over and put one comforting hand on his shoulder. "Look, I know this week has been tough on you. Me and Isabelle were talking and we...we've come to a decision."

Toon Link audibly gulped.

"We decided to end the experiment early and order you some er...night time protection."

"You can't do that!" Toon Link yelled, nearly jumping up in his bed he was so insistent.

Pit frantically motioned for him to settle down. "But you're only getting worse and-"

"But I have two more days! I know I can go the whole time without having another accident!"

"Two days, but only one night," Pit pointed out, his finger on the two rain clouds from this morning.

Toon Link looked determined, defiant, and hopeful all at once. Pit wanted to break the news easy, so he kept explaining, "We can keep the calendar and you can keep trying once you're wearing protection at night, that way you're not waking the whole cabin up every time you don't make it. If you go a few days without wetting the bed then we can talk about going back to your regular sleep clothes. And during the day we can just play it by ear, you know? If me or Isabelle are around to remind you to go potty then it's fine if you wear undies, if not then maybe-"

"W-w-w-w-wait, hold up!" Toon Link was so shocked that he finally jumped up on his bed in a standing position, the short boy just barely not hitting his head on the ceiling. "You can't make me wear diapers during the day, that's ridiculous! Lucas doesn't even wear day diapers!"

"Cuss I don't pee my pants when I'm awake…" Lucas mumbled from the bottom bunk, just loud enough for Toon Link to hear.

Toon Link threw his hands over his mouth, not realizing anyone else was in the room.

"You're not gonna be in diapers!" Pit insisted, trying to calm the little Link down again. This was going about as well as he could expect. "...Or at least, probably not. There's other things you can wear, like thick underwear or training pants..."

"Those aren't much better!" Toon Link yelled, plopping back on his butt angrily with a wet splat.

A few beats passed as Pit watched Toon Link try and process this information. His teary eyes and wet pajamas were a pitiful sight, and it melted Pit's heart just enough to make him relent. "Alright, how about this: if you can stay dry all day today then I'll try and convince Isabelle to hold off on ordering training pants. Does that sound like a deal?"

Toon Link didn't look happy with this. "And the diapers?"

"I wouldn't wanna push it…"

Toon considered the proposal for a second before giving a small nod. "Just stay dry today...no problem at all, right?"

At this point he was more trying to convince himself than anyone else.

o-o-o-o

Since Pit and Isabelle had matches to fight that afternoon, it was decided that they'd meet in the supply office in the evening to find something for Toon Link to wear. For the little Link, this meant that he only had to stay dry for a measly few hours. Sitting at the table in Cabin B, he looked at the clock and started counting on his fingers.

"About 6 or 7 hours."

Toon Link jumped a little in his seat and looked over to his bunkmate. Lucas had been laying in bed playing his Switch all morning, Toon had almost forgotten about him.

"W-what are you talking about?" Toon Link tried to lie.

"You're counting how long you have until the meeting tonight, right?" Lucas said, matter of factly.

Toon Link didn't respond, he just looked away bashfully.

"Don't worry about it, it'll only make it worse," Lucas told him, finally rolling off the bed and putting his arms over his head in a big stretch. The blonde boy was still in his pajamas and by stretching he'd exposed the waistband to his nighttime diaper which he still hadn't changed out of.

"Like I should take advice from you…" Toon muttered.

"Maybe you should!" Lucas shot back. "Sure I've had one or two accidents, but Pit's never threatened to put me back in diapers during the day!"

Toon Link winced and shrunk. "Sorry…" he said. "It's just...I'm really stressed…"

Lucas smiled and approached Toon Link, putting one hand on his shoulder. "Don't mention it, I get it. But hey, I've got all day off and together we're gonna be sure those pants stay dry! How does that sound?"

Toon Link would normally protest and say he doesn't need the help, but with so much on the line all he could do was relent at the offer. "You mean it? You think you can help?"

Lucas nodded and put his hands on his hips, a mirror image of Ness. "Yup! Stick with me and you'll get to keep your daytime undies, I can almost guarantee it! Here, how about I set an alarm..."

As Lucas turned to get his phone, Toon Link's smile fell right off his face. "Uh...Lucas…"

"Hm?" he asked, turning his head to see Toon.

"I think you leaked…"

"Leaked?" Lucas put his hands on his padded butt, feeling a big wet spot. "Aw dangit! The sound of rain always makes me pee the bed!"

Lucas hurriedly pulled new clothes from his locker before locking himself in the bathroom. Despite past assurances, Toon Link had a feeling he wasn't in the best of hands.
