Hanging out in a diaper was awkward at first, sure, but after an hour or so Toon Link seemed to adapt. The truth was, it worked wonders for the boy's psyche. Whereas before he was anxious and constantly running to the potty, now he hardly felt the need to go at all! At first Lucas had tried to remind him to try and go, but Toon Link genuinely didn't feel the need. He went so long without visiting the potty that at one point Lucas tried to subtly check Toon's diaper, though that ended with Lucas sprawled out on the floor after a vicious slap in the face by the little Link.

After a few hours, Toon Link finally pushed himself up from the couch and started making his way to the bathroom.

"Need help?" Lucas asked hesitantly, not wanting to make Toon Link upset again.

"N-no! I'm dry, and I'm about to make sure I stay that way…" Toon retorted, waddling off to the bathroom in something of a hurry.

"Let me know if you-" Lucas was cut off by the slamming of the bathroom door. "...Change your mind…"

Lucas sat at attention, not completely relaxed as he watched the bathroom door from his position in the beanbag chair. After a couple of minutes his gaze shifted to Toon Link's potty calendar which still said the boy was dry. 'But does wetting your diaper count as an accident?' he asked himself.

Finally the bathroom door opened and Lucas jumped up from his beanbag anxiously as Toon Link took a couple of embarrassed steps out of the bathroom. "I need help…" he admitted, holding a towel in his hands.

Lucas nodded and jumped into action. "No sweat! Hey, that's what it's for, right?" He passed by Toon Link and to his locker, reaching into the back and pulling out a new diaper and some baby powder. "What matters is you tried and-"

"I didn't wet myself!" Toon Link shouted, almost loud enough for Cabin A to hear.

Lucas gulped. "Is it...lightning?"

"Lightning?" Toon Link echoed, before coughing a little as he realized what Lucas was implying. "The towel!" Toon Link danced in place a little, his plastic diaper crinkling loudly without it being covered by a towel "I can't tie the towel back on!"

"R-right!" Lucas said, throwing the diaper and powder back into his locker and jumping forward as if he were Toon Link's servant. "Sorry! But I mean, it's a diaper so if you do make lightning-"

"I'm not gonna make lightning!" Toon Link insisted as Lucas proceeded to tie the towel around his waist again before pulling up the leggings for him. "In fact, I didn't even come close to an accident this time...the diaper really helps…"

Lucas stood up and rubbed his little companion's head. "See? Big brother Lucas knows what's best!"

Toon Link, despite himself, giggled a bit and nodded his head before the pair went back to playing their games.

o-o-o

Lucas, confident in Toon Link's showing of continence, was a lot more relaxed for the rest of the afternoon as the two played the new Mario Golf for hours with each other. Toon Link, for his part, was so 'back to normal' that he didn't even think to go potty at all during this time, despite the urge to pee growing in the back of his mind. It was to both of their immense surprises that Pit, Popo, and Blue all came back from their matches at the same time, with Ness right on their heels.

"Heya guys!" Popo said, wasting no time in running to his locker and pulling off his immensely warm jacket.

"Hey!" Toon Link and Lucas responded, nearly in unison. "How were your matches?" Toon Link added.

"Piece of cake!" Blue assured him with a triumphant smile.

"I don't wanna talk about it…" Pit sighed, looking more than a little roughed up.

"You win some, you lose some," Ness said wisely, not revealing he was in that latter category today. "How about you guys? Everything go well here?"

"Yup!" Toon Link said. He went to stand to greet them, but Lucas subtly pulled him back down by the tunic and Link realized he should probably not move around too much. Still, he couldn't help but wiggle a little as the pressure in his bladder had built to be more than just uncomfortable. He wasn't worried, though, it didn't feel that bad just yet.

"Just, uh, playing games all day," Lucas said quickly to cover the action.

"Cool, cool," Ness responded. "And how did-"

"Hey, he did it!" Blue shouted back to them. He'd gone right past everything and straight to Toon Link's potty chart. "The little dude actually managed to stay dry all day!"

"He did?!" Pit asked, suddenly getting some pep in his step. "Did he really?" he asked toward Lucas for confirmation.

"Yes I did!" Toon Link answered instead, then added. "Of course I did! It's just the daytime!" He said that last sentence partly for himself, a reassurance.

Blue, Pit, Ness, and Popo paid little attention to Toon Link but all looked toward Lucas, who didn't much care for the attention. "He...yeah, he stayed dry," he confirmed.

"Alright!" Pit finally celebrated, leaning over the couch and giving Toon Link a little noogie and a headlock, which made the kid whimper a little in desperation.

"Knew you could do it!" Popo assured him, casting a 'I told you so!' gaze toward Blue.

"Congrats Link," Ness said more casually, coming up next to Lucas and congratulating him for the 'coaching' with a hand on the shoulder.

"It's no big deal…" Toon Link said, trying to look nonchalant but unable to contain the proud little grin on his face.

"It is a big deal!" Pit said, breaking the headlock and climbing up to Toon Link's bed to take off the calendar. "Remember, a deal's a deal and you just bought yourself the right to keep your daytime undies!"

"Pit!" Toon Link shouted, looking suddenly at Ness, who was technically an outsider to Cabin B.

"It's okay, Pit told me everything," he assured Toon Link, who groaned and sank into his seat. "I actually came here to sign over the supply paperwork." Ness pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and crossed out 'pull-ups', leaving just 'nighttime diapers' written on the form. He signed it and handed it to Toon.

"Gee...thanks," Toon said.

Ness smiled at him, knowing it was only a halfhearted victory for his little friend. "I'll let you guys handle the rest yourselves, I'm gonna go take a nap back in Cabin A."

After Ness said goodbye and took his leave, Pit suddenly shadowed over Toon Link. "So whadaya say? Isabelle said she'll meet us at the supple office."

Toon Link sighed and pushed himself up carefully, only to suddenly feel a desperate need to potty as soon as his weight shifted to his feet. Reflexively, he pushed his legs together as much as they would go and brushed a hand toward his lap.

"Oh, do you need to go potty first?!" Pit asked, suddenly going into big brother mode, ready to carry Toon Link the rest of the way.

Worried, Toon looked up at Pit, then back at Lucas, who was also giving a worried look. If Toon Link went to the bathroom now, he wouldn't be able to fold the towel back on himself to reduce crinkling! Then everyone would know his secret and he'd probably have to wear diapers during the day anyway!

Quickly, Toon Link shook his head. "I'm fine," he lied. "I just went."

'Did he?' Lucas thought to himself, trying to subtly steal a look at the potty training calendar Pit was holding.
