For their second day in Alola, our group is enjoying a leisurely all you can eat buffet of all sorts of foods, just enjoying the day and eating.
"Hey Trace, can you hand me that there?" She pointed to a large mango."
"Sure, here." Trace handed her the fruit to which she took a big bite out of it.
"Alola has such yummy foods." Ash sighed in lethargy while his Pikachu ate some berries.
"Pika Pi."
"Alola's the best at doing nothing, isn't it?" Sakura asked her friends. Trace nodded.
"Certainly something I can get used to."
"If I retire from being an actress, this is where I'm retiring to." Elaine stated, loving the idea of just lounging around and relaxing the whole day in her golden years.
"Yeah." All of them agreed.
A little later, down at the beach where they were, ahem... 'working off' all the food they ate, everyone was having a splash fight with Ash and Trace for the boys team and Elaine and Skura for the girls team. Ash and Trace wore black and green swim trunks respectively while the girls had a white bikini for Elaine and a dark blue one piece for Sakura. They each had what they believed to be their ultimate way of attacking the other with water.
"Kirlia, use Confusion!"
"Aid that with Power Trip!" Trace's Corvisquire went up high so it could zoom back down and safely crash into the water, giving Kirlia to gain a telekinetic hold of the wave and give it much more power, splashing Elaine, Sakura, Bewear and Espeon.
"Oh yeah?! We'll show you!" Sakura laughed. "Eevee, aid Bewear's jumping with Psychic!"
"Also use Payback!" Since the boys technically 'attacked' first by splashing them with water, the Strong Arm Pokemon gave a shrill battle cry as she glowed purple and jumped up into the air much higher than Corvisquire did, helped by glowing blue thanks to Espeon giving it a blue aura. All of them gaped as they saw the incoming meteorite that was the two normal type Pokemon.
"Run!" Ash cried out as they tried to get out of the way, but when Bewear landed in the water, it was like a bomb went off underwater as it shot up nearly as high as the jump, and everyone got caught up in the waves except for the Raven Pokemon. Rising from the water first was Bewear, looking around to see where everyone else had gone. Though everyone managed to resurface, shock on their faces from how powerful that move was. In response to it though, everyone just laughed at how unexpected that was.
To calm things down from that water fight, the group of teenagers were now fishing on a rocky shore, each using a lure of their partner Pokemon, though Elaine's was more of a Clefairy instead of Clefable.
"Man, fishing sure is boring." Elaine yawned as she looked at her watch to see only 5 minutes have passed, to which she sighed.
"Fishing is a patience game after all." Trace retorted, if similarly bored.
"I don't really mind. Patience is a virtue if you don't want to spill tea." Sakura said, rather liking the slow pace of fishing.
"Why can't Pokemon just throw themselves at us?" Ash still felt like complaining, until he felt a snag. In fact, all of them did.
"Woo, we got ourselves a lucky break!" Elaine cheered as she tugged, but noticed that a swarm of Pokemon were coming out in their direction.
"Whoa, stay back!" Ash gasped as they dropped their fishing lines upon seeing dozens of Mareanies. One of them even pounced and latched onto Trace's head, causing him to scream from pain as he ran around several times before running into a boulder. He fell back onto his back, feebly trying to press a Dive Ball against it. The Brutal Star Pokemon swatted it away, but it accidentally pressed the button of said ball so the water/poison type was just realizing it was being absorbed into it, and tried to break free. Ash and Elaine dragged him away from the remaining Mareanie swarm.
"Trace, are you alright?!" Ash feared for his best friend's life.
"Please don't be eaten!" Elaine cried out.
"Eevee!" Trace's partner pleaded for him to be okay.
"Blugh, I just feel... sick." His face was purple, and his eyes are yellow.
"Hold on Trace, we'll save you!" Sakura assured him as the three hi-tailed it out of there, Trace still clutching the Dive Ball of his latest catch.
Trace looked rather annoyed as Nurse Joy applied one last band-aid to his head which had a whole bunch stuck on before hand.
"Good thing you came in just after being attacked." The nurse said. "While we normally deal with Pokemon being poisoned, we always have an antidote ready for when someone is poisoned."
"Lucky me." The boy groaned.
"So what are you going to do with Mareanie?" Ash asked. "Apparently I hear that despite the danger they pose to humans, Mareanie and Toxipex are quite popular among Alolan trainers for their defensive and stalling tactics."
"Well, I don't know." Trace sighed as he let out his newest Pokemon. Upon recognizing its newest owner, it smiled and tried to jump and hug onto Trace's face again, causing him to recoil and yell in horror, terrified of being poisoned again before a pink and blue orb on a handle was brought in between and the Brutal Star Pokemon latched on, confused on what it latched onto.
"Luckily I bought something from a vendor recommending this." Sakura grinned. "It's a Mareanie stick, useful for being intimate with said Pokemon without being poisoned. It even looks like its natural prey of Corsola. Here Trace, get to know Mareanie." She handed Trace the Pokemon on a stick as the Pokemon looked at him friendly like. Gulping, he carefully rubbed his face against the main stalk like body of the water/poison type, to which she appreciated the action and rubbed back and cooed. Admittedly, it was rather cute when not threatening its master.
"Oh, you're quite a sweetie the second time around, aren't you?" Trace asked his Pokemon with a much more relaxed tone as he petted one of the tentacles with no spikes on the inner sides.
"So Trace now has six Pokemon." Ash chuckled.
"And one that very much likes him." Elaine giggled.
"This Mareanie's quite sweet for a poison type." Everyone laughed at Sakura's comment.
A/N: Shortest chapter ever, but this was the only time they could get any Alolan Pokemon that aren't too weak to be caught since the levels of the protagonists' team is around l 25-27. Anyway, it's back to the WCS challenge.
