Hello everyone o/ I'm not completly sure of what I'm doing but, yeah, let's try ! This is my first time writing in English, my second language, so please be gentle with me if you notice any mistake.
But I'm very proud of myself for doing an entire One shot in English, on a pairing I really like and on a fandom way too poor for its potential !
Enjoy o/
There's this boy.
Young red bright beautiful boy with deep red sorrowful empty eyes.
There's the trash in his bag, the cigarettes' burns on his arms, the black surrounding his eye. There's his silence, his glance stuck on the ground, his uniform worn out. There's the way nobody talks to him, the way he doesn't eat, the way he scratches his fingers. There's how he is one of the best students, how he signs his answers no one can understand, how he walks so quick.
There's Kanade watching him from afar.
There's the distance.
There's the way nobody wants to approach the boy just like he wants nobody near him.
Lonely boy with eyes too old for his age.

There's lies we're happy to believe in. There's harsh truths we prefer to ignore. There's the in between we pretend doesn't exist. There's what's beautiful and what's not. There's ugliness in every person. There's the few ones exempt of it.
There's Kanade, beautiful among the beautifuls.
There's Mirai, beautiful among trash.
Mirai who comes from a dead family. Mirai who works so hard to be better than the ones he descends from. Mirai who deserves so much more than what he gets.
Mirai who is worth thousands of Richie rich living in this world.
If he could, Kanade would bring him this world torn to shreds. If he could, he'd kill all the people laughing at him. If he could, he'd take him as his.
But he can't. He can't because they lived in two different worlds. He can't because he's supposed to be better and to not mix with him. He can't because Mirai won't let him get close. He can't because Mirai won't accept help. He can't because Mirai will see his acts as pity.
So he watches and watches and watches. And once he's done, he thinks about him and about him and about him.
And again and again and again.
Every day of every week of every month.

Kanade is almost sixteen the first time he speaks with Mirai. Well, signs with Mirai. He shouldn't be surprised Mirai didn't answer right away but he is. He is and gets angry. He wants to communicate, badly, but the feeling doesn't seem mutual. Mirai barely answers. The most Kanade signs, the less Mirai seems to acknowledge him.
Kanade wouldn't have thought he'd be angry.
Mirai doesn't talk, barely communicate, why would it be different with him ? But he thought, foolishly, that it was gonna be different. Because Kanade is nothing like the others.
But being different doesn't change a thing. Because they don't have a relationship, yet.
And Kanade will make sure to fix that.

There's time healing every wound and softening the hearts. There's what has been and what will be. There's future and will and all their possibilities.
There's two boys sitting across one another. There's the distance so wide. There's a bridge slowly rising from the depths.
There's Kanade learning to sign so many words. There's Mirai staring at him when he thinks nobody looks. There's the teachers making them work together.
There's what is better silent. There's what slowly grows away from sights. There's the hidden beauty.
And there's fingers tangle on the wood table.
XxX
There's pain bringing up silence. There's silence bringing up pain. There's a circle nobody questions and simply lives through.
There's a word.
A single word, barely whispered.
"Thanks"
There's silence. There's silence as Kanade freezes in place and thinks. As he processes what happened. As he engraves that weak soft voice in his mind. As he swears to himself he will be the only one hearing that beautiful sound from now on.
There's the kiss that follows.
There's Mirai's surprise. There's his eyelids closing. There's the sight he gives to Kanade. There's Kanade's eyes wide open. There's the memory forever vivid in his mind.
There's seconds that last an eternity.
There's two hearts slowly melting into one.

There's the dark and what it hides. There's the lies and what they protect. There's the sun and what it burns. There's the loneliness and it's burden.
That day Mirai suggests killing himself, Kanade thinks he misheard. After all, Mirai is so much more than everyone else, almost too much to be real. He embodies the world and what the best it has to give. He can't want to die. He can't. He can't.
So Kanade embraces him. He holds him with all his strength and doesn't let go. He can't let go. Can't let Mirai think he isn't worth everything existing in this world. Can't let him try something. Can't let him get more hurt than he already is.
As Mirai closes his eyes, his head falls on Kanade's shoulder. As he exhales, tears gently flow from his closed eyelids. As hiccups escape from him, he stays almost completely silent.
As Kanade listens to his suffering, he swears to destroy the ones who broke him. As he swears, he promises to make him smile and laugh enough for time to stop. As he presses a hand in his hair, he lets his anger burn.
And never his anger ever was a sweet calm thing.
And when the storm comes, no one can escape it.
XxX
Summer slowly dies and with it, the remains of a family Mirai had.
To everyone, they had a regrettable accident when going on vacation. To Mirai, they were taken just like his family was. To Kanade, they had what they asked for.
Kanade won't tell what he did. Mirai won't ask him.
Even as he moves to Kanade's house. Even as Kanade wants to have him close all the time. Even when Kanade insults them.
Not even when Kanade kisses his scars and swears he could have killed them with his own hands.
He embraces Kanade and lets his eyes shut.
He can forget everything just to feel his beating heart against his skin.
XxX
There's aches we are glad to feel. There's bittersweet blisses. There's the coldness of the embraces. There's the sweetness of the punches. There's chains on our feet we don't want to get free from.
There's Kanade who wants Mirai to be his.
There's Mirai who aches to be wanted.
There's the fragile love between them, short-lived thing time could tear to shreds.
There's the will to make it work.
There's what is possible and what is not.
There's the soft dreams we want to believe in. There's reality always a few feets aways. There's eyes closed and fingers intertwined.
XxX
There's two bodies in one bed. There's two boys hoping tomorrow won't come. There's the silent house. There's the corpse lying still in the garden.
There's Kanade who doesn't speak. There's Mirai who hugs him and hides his face against his collarbone. There's the blood on them.
There's what has been and what won't be.
There's the laugh still echoing between the walls. There's the bright sunshine suddenly going dark. There's vibrant eyes forever dull.
There's Kanade's hands strongly closed around Mirai's body. There's the familiar feeling of a coming punch. There's Mirai who waits for Kanade to let his rage storms out and beat him to the ground.
There's the ache that doesn't come.
There's tears, wrongly falling on Kanade's face. There's his brows frown so deeply his entire face is deformed. There's his teeth so white and so sharp.
There's Mirai who's scared and knows how strong Kanade is. There's Mirai who knows how long broken bones take to heal. There's Mirai who loves from the bottom of his torn heart. There's trust melt in fear.
There's Mirai who holds Kanade until dawn. There's Kanade who finally manages to fall asleep. There's Mirai looking after him.
There's the sunrise announcing a dim day.
XxX
There's silence shaping the world. There's beauty doom to wither. There's raindrops so similar to tears. There's a sigh in the morning.
Kanade has stopped eating.
Mirai has stopped reading.
Kanade has begun having nightmares.
Mirai has begun having insomnia.
Kanade doesn't want to keep going anymore.
Mirai doesn't want to see him decay anymore.
That only leads to a unique solution as time passes.
XxX
There's one who once said death offers true peace. That one was probably right.
There's the meds on the table. There's the knife closes to them.
Meds for a peaceful last sleep, as Mirai wishes his end to be.
Knife, as only suffering can end suffering, that Kanade is sure.
There's the last kiss. There's the last glance. There's the last embrace.
There's a plunge in the unknown.
XxX
There's the eyes forever watching. There's eternity not only a myth. There's snow white wishes.
There's white feathers gently falling and no one to notice them.
There's that one singsong voice.
But most importantly, there's that young red bright beautiful boy with deep red sorrowful empty eyes and there's that young magnificent ashe boy with jewelry eyes too full for this world.
And, one way or another, there's a god waiting to awake.
