Training. Something Dick enjoyed both at home and at the mountain because it allowed him to think. They were doing hand-to-hand combat with Canary today. Dick just finished fighting Aqualad and was taking a break before moving into lifting.
Dick walked into the locker room to change out of his uniform into a t-shirt and shorts. He switched his mask out for his normal sunglasses and walked back out into the training room. where his gym bag was and pulled out his headphones.
He put his headphones over his ears and moved over to the other side of the gym to begin stretching out and loosing up. He had spotify on a random playlist as he watched Wally and M'gann get pointers from Black Canary.
As he made his way over the bench press, the song that started playing caught his attention. He sat down on the bench and checked what the song name was. It was one that he hadn't heard before.
He didn't start his bench press, he instead opted to give his full attention to listening while watching the current spar going on.

Dick felt the emotion behind the song, it almost explained the current situation that he was going through at the moment. He had fallen, in secret, head over heels for his best friend.
After being friends for almost four years and knowing each other inside and out, it wasn't surprising. Dick didn't realize he way gay untl a few months ago when him and the Team were spending the day at the beach.
He spent most of his time relaxing on the beach, enjoying the sun and the ocean breeze but he found himself watching Wally more than he cared to admit. He enjoyed seeing the happiness and relaxedness on his face as he was messing around in the ocean.

Dick mulled over the thought of telling Wally again over his head as he watched and listened. He accepted the fact that he would probably end up loving Wally from afar but he was almost tempted to take the chance.

He bit the inside of his cheek before sending a quick message to Wally, asking him to meet him after training on the beach. Dick took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. The splurge of confidence left his heart hammering inside his rib cage.

Sexuality hadn't been something that he and Wally ever talked about. They both kept their school life pretty private just because they both dealt with bullies and other people who made it a living hell so Dick didn't really know if Wally flirted with girls like he did with M'gann.
The spar finished and Wally made his way over to his bag. As Dick saw him reach his phone, he laid down on the bench press and began his set. He felt Wally look over and watch him for a few seconds before making his way into the locker room to shower and get changed.

As Dick finished lifting, Black Canary came over towards him with files in her hand. He swiped sweat off his face as Black Canary knelt down next to him. "Hey, can you give these case files to Batman?" Dick nodded and took the files in his hand as he stood up. Everyone was already leaving.
He started to walk over to this bag and began packing away the case files and his water bottle as Canary was putting various training equipment away, "Are you going back home now, Robin?" Dick shook his head, "I have to talk to Wally first." Canary stopped in her tracks and smiled.
"Meet me at the bottom of the ocean
Where the time is frozen
Where all the universe is open"
Black Canary crossed the room quickly and turned him towards her, placing her hands on his shoulders. "Are you going to tell him?' Dick's brow furrowed. There was no way that she knew, he had kept it stored away so that no one would ever notice.
Dick's voice wavered, "What do you mean?" Black Canary smiled and knelt down in front of him, "Dickie, I know what you need to talk to him about. It's okay to be scared but I know the feeling is mutual."
Dick stared at her for a few seconds before he slowly nodded and went back to packing his bag up. As he shouldered the bag, he asked, "How did you know?" Black Canary ruffled his hair, "It's been a long time in the making"

Dick dropped his bag off by the Zeta Tube and made his way up to the beach. His hand began to get shaky and clammy as he got further down to the water's edge. He was ready to call it, to run all the way to the Zeta Tube and just zeta to Gotham.
He looked out over the ocean, lost in thought as he fought to calm his nervousness. He didn't hear Wally walk up until he placed a hand on Dick's shoulder. Dick tensed and turned towards him quickly but relaxed when he saw it was Wally.
Wally's face showed a look of concern, "Dick, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" Dick looked over the ocean as he clenched his hand into a fist to stop the shaking. Wally looked down at his hand, "You're shaking." Dick nodded and took a deep breath.

"I've been keeping something from you for a while now." Wally looked out over the ocean, trying to spot what Dick was looking at. Dick trailed off, more afraid now than ever to say anything. Wally looked at him, "Dick, tell me please."
Dick looked down at the sand, "I like you, more than just being best friends. I might even love you. I realized it a few months ago, just been too scared to bring it up to anyone. I didn't want you to hate me or have our friendship crash and burn."
He heard Wally's breath catch as he looked back over the ocean. Dick whispered, "Please just don't hate me" Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Wally's hands moved. Dick flinched and prepared to be hit, he knew that he shouldn't have said anything.
Wally's hands descended upon his shoulders and turned Dick towards him. One of his hands came up to take his sunglasses off. Dick's eyes were filled with tears as Wally dropped him into the sand. They both stared at each other, trying to understand where they stood now as friends.

Wally slowly brought his hands up and cupped Dick's face. Dick kept his eyes casted downward, opting to look at Wally's chest rather than his face. Wally whispered, "Dick, look at me." Dick slowly looked up at Wally, more tears gathering in his eyes.
Wally closed the distance in between them, hesitating for a moment before pressing their lips together. It was soft and sweet. It was everything that Dick hoped it would be. The first kiss of many.
Wally pulled back and smiled, "I love you too." A blush spread across Dick's face as he leaned into Wally's hands. This time, Dick closed the distance for another kiss. The boys stayed lip locked for a few minutes before pulling apart.
"Wanna take a walk?" Wally asked, offering his hand to Dick. Dick nodded and easily slid his hand into Wally's as they walked along the ocean's edge, enjoying the moment. Unknown to them, Canary and Batman were watching the new couple as they walked down the beach.
"About time." Batman said as he and Canary made their way back into the mountain.
