Author's note: This scene in "Reformation of Harry Briscoe" always shakes me to the core: the moment when Harry and his partners surprise Heyes and Curry fast asleep, and Harry points his rifle at the sleeping Heyes.

Maybe I'm too deep inside the characters at some times, but I wanted to point out what makes me shiver when I watch this scene.


Heyes's POV

You're wanted, always on the run, never safe, always alert. You have to rest, lie down, rein in your thoughts and finally fall asleep.

You wake up to the sound of a cocking gun, feel the cold steel at your temple, not knowing what happened, just knowing you are worth a fortune to most of the people – dead or alive it's all the same. And dead you are easier to handle. You hold your breath, waiting for the next action while your thoughts are in turmoil, searching for a way to talk your way out of this particular situation...
