Chapter 1 Great I'm a teenager once more

You know when you start a new series to be pulled into to see a great story. Well, that was literal since when I started the first episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a bright light took me over and I woke up here. Here is an okay house with some of my furniture in my room, but things like the tv. Instead of a normal-sized flat screen tv, it's replaced by a big old one I think from the '90s. I had one when I was a kid. Then I looked around the house to find it's now two stories tall. I was living in a one-storied home in Texas now I'm in California since I have some mail from a Sunnydale High School. So key points are all the technology is now from the '90s and it's 1997 since that is what the calendar says near my kitchen. Yeah, I have one of those as well. Where did I hear the world Sunnydale before? Oh yeah, it was in the description for episode one. Wait the letter from the-. I run to a bathroom to see oh great! My teenage self is looking back at me. My chestnut brown hair is a bit messier, and my eyes are now a piercing blue, so that's a bonus. Great, I'm 5'10 again in the time when stereotypes were the rage on television. Also with my eyes, I need my glasses again to see far away and it's the stereotypical nerd one.

So, I must be in the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Great the one time I would be put in a television show or any entertainment the only things I know is its name and that the girl from How I Met Your Mother turns evil during one season. I hope it's one season. I liked Lilly. Wait does that mean that show will never be made? This could be the Last Action Hero situation where it's another actor who replaces them. Questions for later. Still need to search this house some more before i-.

A ringing noise fills my new home and I get to the door. Please just be some neighbors and nothing too bad. I just hope it's only vampires I have to deal with. Wait didn't the series last for seven seasons? If so, then there must be more than just simple vampires. I open the door and the bright sun shines on this guy with a stupid fedora hat on. Oh great. I ask, "How can I help you?" The maybe late 20's year old man says "Well to start I'm Whistler and I kind of have to be the one that gives you the rundown on why you're in this world. Got anything to drink?" Before I can answer this guy walks past me and I see he has some briefcase with him. I close my door and since I want answers, I'm not going to get angry at this guy for coming in uninvited.

He sits down on one of my leather chairs and says "Alright I got something I need to do after this so I'm going to give you a choice. I can explain it or just hand you this case that should explain it all. The first one is time-consuming and the second one might hurt a lot." Well, this guy is an ass so I say "Option 2 it is. Did I win a new car?" The guy smirks at that and opens the case towards me as a bright golden light blind's my eyes. A giant pain erupts from my head as so much information fills it. I regret option 2 immediately.

Oh shit. I was sent here for some beings' entertainment, and they made some deal with a group called the powers that be. I'm not allowed to tell people this is a show or kill two people. Those people are Buffy of course and someone named Angel. Besides that, I'm allowed to do whatever. To keep some things interesting, I have the weapons of the Belmont family from the Castlevania video games. Yes, I'll have the vampire killer instead of the Morningstar whip. Also, some super strength so I don't die from a vampire punching me. The last bad news from the now implanted info is that some things from the games are in this world. All I can think is please not be the castle of Dracula.

My head hurts and I find myself on the floor. Oh yeah still have the headache but I get up to see the fedora guy is putting some stuff on my dinner table. He notices that I'm up and says "So you got that all. Now for what they said I can't tell you about how some creatures act, but I'm supposed to give you these weapons. They said it will be to make it entertaining. Some heavy weaponry here. A few of these can hurt me on a good day. Oh yeah, it's Friday and you have your first day of school on Monday. I'll be seeing you, Mr. Belmont." He leaves and I wonder why he called me that?

After a few minutes for me to find my medicine and made a note to buy some more gauze, I look at what Whistler gave me. The first thing that caught my eye was the two whips. Some of the items had papers next to them. One whip was called the Lesser Vampire Killer. It was leather and bundle up. The paper says [Lesser Vampire Killer- This is the weapon at its weaker stage. Can still kill creatures of the night but will be hard to damage a really strong creature of the night. Best to use this and master it before the true vampire killer. The length can shorten to your wish to hide in your bag or put it on your person. It has a set length it can reach. Don't use it for any weird kinks you have.] Cool. Yeah, probably best I use this first since I now know how to use it but have no idea how to apply it. The next one is a metal whip like the one Simon and Richter use in smash bros.

The Vampire Killer and next to it the paper. All the paper says is [The best weapon against the creatures of the night that even death can be hurt by this whip. Only true masters of the whip and one of the Belmont clan can use this. Don't worry your now a Belmont] Well that's good. The next is ten glass bottles with some blue liquid with a cross as its cork. All I get is holy water and the way to make more. Next to it is a heavy ax. I picked it up and even with this new strength it's still heavy. No wonder they throw it in an arc. No paper but it makes sense. Next is a giant blade cross with the paper saying [Cross- it magically gets back to you after a certain distance. Don't lose it since you only have one.] The next few things are papers showing I exist in this world. A new name which helps since I can't remember my old one. It's Seigmund Gabriel Belmont. Nice. Next is a bank account and that's a lot of zeros. Oh yeah, the Belmont family must be wealthy.

The last two objects are my smartphone and some keys. The paper told me that my smartphone can only keep the movies, tv shows, music, and books I read even if they were not made yet. Lastly not to show it off and I keep my earbuds without ever needing to charge them again. I look around the house some more and find out my basement is a training area where I can keep the weapons. I find some padded clothes for training as well with a holster for the true vampire killer.

After that, I go to my garage to see what the car key goes to a blue 1997 jeep Cherokee. Nice. Well, I can try and look around the town to get familiar with it or just train. Let's see this place must be filled with creatures or vampires. I can try to get some info put where would I go? Maybe a library but I may just find stories that have nothing helpful for real vampires. Am I running on the Masquerade logic where a good head attack will do it or have full mythology like running water and needing to be allowed in a home? Well, I should look around town before sundown to know the layout before anything too crazy happens. I may need to get a backup phone for people to call since my smartphone can't receive calls which may just be a home phone for now since it's 1997. Mobile phones may just be a lot of money. Still, before I leave, I take the leather vampire killer with me to have just in case.

I spend about three hours getting used to the layout of the town and then find someplace to eat. I found some nice quiet place that served some good Italian food like alfredo chicken. Ah, but as I was eating, I see a mother and daughter go through the door. When I see the daughter, I wonder if those powers that be do this or was it the R.O.B doing that sent me here. That must be Buffy since that was the face for the series when I brought it up on Hulu. Just keep eating your food, Seig. As I keep eating the two sit at a table near me and since it's quiet, I can hear them say. The mom says, "This place is nice right?" I hear Buffy sigh and must be looking at her menu. The mom says, "Hey I know it's not L.A but you'll have fun here." Buffy says, "I know just going to suck being the new kid." They stay quiet for some time, and I finish my food. As I get the waitress to take my plate, I hear the mom say "Hey that boy looks to be your age. Why not talk to him to get a look around the area." Why me? You should not tell your teenage daughter to talk to a teenage boy you know nothing about.

Buffy says "No I should not bother him. Hey why don't-" I stop listening as I'm handed my check. Dang, that was cheaper than it is in 2022. Oh yeah, the housing market and whole Russia being an idiot hasn't happened yet. I then see that it's starting to be about 2 pm and I should head home to be safe. After a drive with nothing happening, I reach my home and should train some tomorrow. I go and read that letter from the school to see I'm a second year. So same as last time I can drive a car but no alcohol, but I never really did it that much, to begin with.

The next two days are spent me learning how to use the whip and getting the receipt down for the holy water down. Also found out from some documents that I'm an orphan. It says I lost my parents in a car crash. I'll miss my real one. Dang it I'm a little sad now. At that moment the holy water bursts into flames. That was tricky to stop it and I had to put a fire extinguisher in my basement now since holy water is more flame-like when it's out of the bottle. I found a good book shop on Sunday that had a book filled with some lore from Castlevania like Carmilla who seems to be in this world a servant of Dracula who when he is gone tries to take over. An odd combo of the show and classic game it seems. Then again, I don't know if this book is accurate or not. I hope if Dracula is real, I can just find Alucard's alias to get his help.

Episode 1 begins- Welcome to the Hellmouth

My alarm wakes me up to the warthog music from red vs blue. As I turn it off, I get ready for my first day of school. Just great. I need to deal with high school once more just great. Well, this time I'm not taking marching band. Need to be good at the whole not to be easy prey for the monsters of this world. I start to get dressed. I wear a grey shirt with the logo of Nintendo on it and with a red plaid jacket. I then put some dark blue jeans on with my black tennis shoes and get my backpack with my whip hidden away. My life is already odd and it's only day three. I make myself some toast and get a quick drink of some sweet tea as I leave my home. Crap almost forgot my glasses.

I drive to the school and see a lot of my fellow students as I get to the parking lot. Welcome to the next three years of hell. Maybe this time I can try and graduate early. Well, the letter said to meet the principal. I think his name was Mr. Flutie. Odd name but hey I can deal with it. On my way to the principal, I see Lily, or whatever her name is in this world. Dam she looks the same from the show. Odd to know that I know how she looks in about two decades. Then again, I know what Buffy looks like in the early 2000s. Thank you Scooby-Doo live-action movie.

Still, I head to the office and am sent to wait in his office with Buffy. Great well since I don't have any foreknowledge besides Lilly turning evil. Should keep a watch on that when or if it happens. Still, I sit at the chair next to Buffy with no Principal insight. Now we are just sitting here with an awkward silence. Buffy says "Hi I'm Buffy Summers. You new too?" I nod and say, "Yeah I'm Seigmund Belmont but just call me Seig."

Before this conversation counties, a man I assume is the principal walks in with two folders in his hands. He says "Buffy Summers. Sophomore, late of Hemery High in Los Angeles. Seigmund Gabriel Belmont. Sophomore as well from Texas. Both increasing records." He then to sits down at his desk, and I look to see a little nervous look takes hold of Buffy for one second. As he does sit down, he tears the papers in half and then those in half as well. He then says while messing with those papers "Welcome to Sunnydale. A clean state is what you two get here. What's past is past. We're not interested in what it says on a piece of paper even if it says…" He then picks up some of the paper and says "Woah. Mr. Belmont, I'm sorry for your loss." I nod and am now thinking about my parents. Great, I'm sad now. After he throws away our records, he hands us our schedules. We have the same class to start with.

I hear Buffy say "hey sorry about your parents. I just…" She looks at a loss what to say and I don't blame her. I say to give her a break "No worries. I'll be fine." She nods and we walk out to the hallway but someone nocks into Buffy causing her to drop her bag. With some of the contents on the floor, I go to help pick some things up. Oh boy, that a wooden stake. Cool, then vampires are hurt or killed by a stake to the heart. A boy about an inch taller than me awkwardly talks to buffy as I get most of the stuff in my hands. He says "Xander is-is me. Hi." I say, "And I'm the third wheel but you can call me Seig." The two turn to me and Buffy sees I have all the things she puts those things in her bag. Xander says "Maybe I'll see you around. Maybe at school since we both go there." This guy is being very awkward. Oh, he must have just developed a crush on her. Buffy says thanks and walks away. Crap I got to head to class as well. I nod to Xander and head off.

The lesson is about the black plague. Wonder if in this world it was magical or just the normal reason. The teacher tells us to trace a map on page 63 which I don't have. I look around but the bell tells me it's time to head out. I put my things away and now need to find the library which I have no idea where it is. I walk for a minute and find the only face I know which is Lily. I ask, "Hey do you know where the library is?" She looks a little startled but says "Yeah is down the hallway and make a left. Should not be hard to miss. Are you new?" I nod and say "Yeah, I'm Seig. You are?" Before she can say a word, I hear someone say "Willow." I turn to see Buffy with some pretty girl who when I look at her screams' popular girl. She counties to say "Nice dress. Good to know you've seen the softer side of Sears." Sears? Oh yeah, that clothes store. Willow looks down at her dress and says "Uh, well-well, my mom picked it up." The mean girl says full of a mocking tone "No wonder you're such a guy magnet. Are you both done standing there like freaks?" I say "Thanks again, Willow. I'll have to repay you some time." I leave to head to the library.

It's only first period and I already hate it. Man, that conversation was so high school drama. I head to the library to find it quiet but dam it looks better than mine. How is this nice place a high school library? Before I can ask where the librarian is Buffy walks in, and I wave at her. She walks up to me and asks aloud "Have you seen the librarian?" I shake my head and Buffy looks at something on the counter as I see someone I can only describe as a gentleman. Is that Uther from Merlin. Wait just the same actor but still, he looks cool. I'm a sucker for a nice jacket. I should ask him where he got his. He asks, "How can I help you two?" I say "Yeah, we are both kind of new here and need textbooks. Oh, I should give you, my schedule." I go through my bag, and he asks "Ms. Summers? Sorry I never got your name, sir." Buffy says "Oh he is Seig. Good guess. Must be the only new girl here." As I get the paper out the librarian looks it over and says, "I'll have it in a few seconds." He leaves to go get the books I'm now alone with Buffy once more. I go to say something to Buffy, but my teenage hormones act up and now I can only think about her having very pretty eyes. God, I hate being a teenager again.

Thankfully Uther returns with my books, and I say thanks to that as I go on my merry way. After some time, it's lunch and I'm sitting outside since I forgot to make myself some lunch. No way I'm getting school food with that mandatory. Wait it's 1997. That school health food thing is not around yet. As I muse about school lunches a voice takes me out of it by saying "Can I-I sit here?" I turn to see Willow. I nod and say "Yeah. Can't stop you and I'm not saving the seat for anyone." She nodes as she sits on my right and starts to eat her lunch, but a center vampire slayer walks up to us. She says with a smile on her face "Oh hi Seig and Willow, right?" Willow sadly acted like a deer caught in headlights as she says "Why? I-I mean, hi. Uh, did you want me to move?" Buffy being the nice one says, "Why don't we start with Hi, I'm Buffy, and let's segue directly into me asking for a favor. It doesn't involve moving, but it does involve hanging out with me for a while." She sits down on Willow's right, and I ask, "I would have thought you been with miss mean and popular?" Willow says "Her name is Cordelia. Cordy for short." Buffy says, "Can't I hang out with each of you?" Willow says, "Not legally." I suppressed a chuckle. Buffy says "look I really want to get by. New school. And Cordelia's been really nice to me anyway…but, um, I kind of have this burning desire not to flunk all my classes, and I heard a rumor that you were the person to talk to if I wanted to get caught up."

A giant smile fills Willow's face and says "Oh, I totally help you out. Oh, Seig do you want to join in?" I shake my head and say, "I'm good at schoolwork but thanks for the offer. If I'm free when you do this little study, I may join you." She nods and turns to Buffy as they talk some more. Seems that Buffy doesn't want to meet at the library. Odd. The librarian can't be a vampire since I don't think he can stay away from the sun here. Maybe he creeped her out. Willow says that Uther or whatever his name is new. He brought some good books from his old workplace in Britain. I should check that out if he has anything related to Belmont or anything from the games. I'm ignored as Xander, and his friend comes to walk over to talk to them. Must just be me not having much of a presence. Then Cordy comes over to say about a dead guy in the locker.

Buffy asks about marks and that sells that she must already know about the creatures of the night. Why do I keep saying it like that? I should go see if there is some book about vampires at that library. I hope Uther has some real and true work of it. As I reach the library, I see he is behind the counter, and I say "I'm sorry Mr. I never did get your name. Sorry." He looks over to me and says "oh that fines. I'm Rupert Giles. Please call me Mr. Giles. What can I help you with Seig I believe?" I nod and say "I heard you brought some books from your previous job. Do you have anything about a family called Belmont?" A look passes his face and says "Yes, I do. May I inquire why you want to learn about them?" I nod as I go take off my glasses so I can read soon I say "Well I'm a Belmont and all I know is that one of my ancestors was a baron but that's about it. So, I thought you having a job in Europe where my family hailed from-." Giles finishes my statement and says "That I could have some records. Well, if you want you can sign it out. It's in the higher area. Here is the paper to sign it out. Just put your name down. I'll put the title of the book. It's called Original Knight families." I nod and head back to find it.

It takes some time, but I find an old leather cover book that says old knights in the book. I hear Giles and Buffy talk. So, he knows as well. She talks about sucking and rising. Oh my. I see Xander from the corner of my eye and turn to him. He seems to be listening in as well. All we do is nod and go back to listening. Giles says "Because you're the Slayer. To each generation born a Slayer is born. One girl in all the world, a chosen one, one born with strength-." Buffy finishes with the powers to slay a vampire. Buffy seems to want out of the whole chosen one deal. Ah, the hero rejects the call. But Giles says this place might be a magnet for the creatures of the night. So more than just Vamps. I learned Giles is a Watcher who trains her and is more like a mentor. Well, I like you so far Giles, so I'll save you if you fall to the curse of all mentors. Buffy does say how it's not a good gig since she can't have real friends. They both leave and I turn to Xander.

I say, "You know for people who are to be monster hunters they don't think about talking about it all out in a public-school library." He just says, "Yeah but what was that?" I just shrug and walk away. Some of my questions have been answered but if vampires are out some might strike tonight. I may need to patrol to see if the leather whip will kill a vampire here. I should make a wooden stake just in case it doesn't work. My nerves make time seem to go by fast. As sundown reaches. Now how to find vampires. If I am remembering, there is some club with a lot of alleyways near it. I should bring some holy water as well since fire is a good guess to kill vampires.

After some time, I'm in some alleyways with my leather whip at my belt with my holster. I feel a calling that something is nearby. Wait did the Belmont clan have an ability to sense monsters? I must have one since I go down some alleyways and see a guy walking down it. My feeling is increasing that he is a creature of the night. Well, here I go. I unholster my whip and need to confirm it so I say, "You must be a vampire." My tone was full of confidence, but I know if it's true he is I'm afraid. He turns around and it's that guy from Bones. Oh, shit he ages well. Wait he looks at me and stares at the whip. He says, "If I am?" I feel two more creatures rushing behind him. All that fear leaves me as something deep inside me tells me to help him, so I say "Duck." He looks confused for a sec but must have heard them and he does. Once he does, I see two ugly-looking guys with yellow eyes, and I crack the whip to the one on the left. The end hits his shoulder, and he turns to dust. Oh, shit that was cool. Before I can hit the other one Bones guy jumps up and attacks the guy with a stake.

He turns to me and now his face is odd and has yellow eyes. Is he a good one like Alucard? He stares at my whip, and I stare at the stake he has. It seems we come to an understanding and we both put away our weapons. I ask, "So are you a good Vampire?" He nods as his face goes back to normal and says "Yeah, I'm Angel. I have my soul, unlike the others." Alright, so when turning into a vampire you lose your soul. Good to know. Wait he is on the list to not kill. I say "Sorry for ambushing you. Kind of got a sense a monster was nearby and found you. Oh, I'm Seigmund Belmont." I go to shake his hand, but his eyes go wide instead, and ask, "You're a Belmont?" I nod and he says "Well that explains the whip. I thought your clan died out during World War 2?" I nod and say "Well they didn't but I'm the only one around. Heck, this is the first time I used the whip to attack so I'm kind of new at slaying evil." He sighs and whispers "Great I found a newbie Belmont. Look word of wise but something bad is going to happen soon and you should get safe."

I say, "What do you mean something bad will happen?" Angel sighs and says, "All I'll say is a lot of vampires are going to be out soon and you should let the Slayer do her job." He goes to walk past me, but I put a hand in front of him. I say "Look I can help. I may not have a lot of experience, but I have the abilities and weapons to help out. If some groups of vamps are going to hurt people, I should do something. I'm not a chosen one, but I can't live with myself if someone dies, and I could have helped. Something deep inside me is screaming to help and I just can't ignore it. Maybe it's the Belmont in me but I will not just stand around when I could help." Angle sighs and says "You really are a Belmont. All I know is that these Vampires love to hang out at graves." He goes to walk away but then asks, "Where do you live?" I say "What." He says, "You said your new and if you survive the night, I can share some info on how vampires work." I tell him where I live since I need info and hey, I like the actor who plays him.

So, I need to head to a graveyard. After a long time of walking to one, my ears pick up a scream. Well, that is a sign of some monsters. I feel a lot of monsters are converging here. As I start running, I feel a major sense of dread fill me as I head off. Man, it would be cool to have some music to distract me. As I get there, I see some vampires surround Willow, Xander, and some guy that is their friend. That's a lot of vampires. I don't have a way to hip a lot of them at once. Unless I can item crush the holy water? I take out one and make my decision.
