Nobody knew that Kaitou KID was a bunny-shifter. But then again, nobody knew that Kuroba Kaito was Kaitou KID either. Jii and Chikage nonwithstanding; the general public was what Shinichi was talking about here. Many speculations on fan pages, gossip columns and the general media, but nobody knew for sure. Most attributed him some kind of elegant and impressive bird type – which made sense, in a way, what with how much he loved to soar the sky, this was a very solid guess. But no, Kaitou KID was a bunny shifter. A cute, fluffy little ball of fur with a wiggly little nose and a cotton tail and two long ears. Very cute, leading to a false assumption of innocence. Who could look a bunny in their big, round eyes and assume anything but innocence?

Alas, that was a false assumption. Because this bunny was a whole lot of chaos stuffed into a tiny package. And the bunny's swiftness, that showed at times during the heists. Sometimes, when Shinichi watched very closely, he could see the zigzag pattern of Kaito's bunny-genes showing.

"Menace," Shinichi's voice was even and neutral.

Yet his fingers were gentle as they carded through the extremely soft fluffy fur of the big white bunny on his lap. Kaito didn't show that he had heard him at all, just sitting there contently and enjoying the cuddles, his ears flat against his head, tips touching Shinichi's thighs. His little cotton-tail twitched and Shinichi couldn't help but brush the tip of it. It twitched again. So cute.

"How can such a menace be this..." Shinichi trailed off, glaring down at the bunny. "Cute."

At that, the bunny did look up. Kaito blinked up at him with those big, innocent eyes. Little liar.

A puff of pink smoke – how, Shinichi had yet to figure out, but Kaito loved being extra and liked to use a pink smoke bomb when changing shapes – and the next moment, Shinichi had a human Kaito on his lap. Human, but with the floppy ears. Because as Kaito, not as KID, he liked to be in hybrid-form. Shinichi reached out to rub the silken floppy ears.

"You admitted that I'm cute," Kaito chimed teasingly.

"Bunny. Bunnies are cute. You are cute when you are a fluffy bunny," Shinichi argued with a glare. "You however, human you, is an absolute menace to society."

"One tiny little prank on Nakamori-keibu and you resort to name-calling..."

Kaito pouted, even as he wrapped his arms around Shinichi's shoulders. His hands went up to Shinichi's own ears. Cute little triangles, poking out between his too neat hair. The ears twitched, trying to get away from the touch. Shinichi's long, fluffy cat-tail wrapped around Kaito. Despite the complaint, Shinichi wouldn't trait Kaito and the bond they shared for anything in the world.

"Pretty kitty," whispered Kaito into the kitten-ear before kissing Shinichi.
