HELLO EVERYBODY! I am back with another chapter of Battle Force Five! In this one, the squad reassembles for the first time in over ten years, and upon learning who is headed to vale, and who is in his path, they make the call to warp back to the vale and push back the behemoth. Along with some reunions in the near future.

As he sat in the saber stewing in his own anger, he thought back on his own team, and their background as members of the leadership of the individual kingdoms and couldn't help but ponder if Ozma had decided to manipulate factors so as to ensure a team of future leading members of each individual kingdom. He wouldn't put it past the old man to ensure his future reincarnation had a supporting leader in all the kingdoms.
To start with, himself. As the sole remaining heir to the Rose name with a valid claim to the throne, he had one of, if not the, biggest political power bases in all of Remnant. He was the last descendent of the king of Vale with a valid claim. Summer could have inherited the throne as well, but she had chosen to follow her heart rather then her lessons. Her loving and bearing the second child of Tai, a man who was still technically married to Raven, had forced her to abdicate her position as second in line. While Ruby could technically become the new second, it was only if he returned and acknowledged her as a member of the family. And of course, had no children of his own. She would come after them should he have children.
Sasuke Uchiha, second son of the Uchiha family, and current heir to the fortune and security company that had been in his family for over five generations. As his older brother had chosen to work within the Atlas military, he had to be disinherited until he left the service, in order to ensure the neutrality of the Uchiha family as a whole. Leaving sasuke as the heir to the fortune and company. In an effort on his fathers and Jacques Schnee's part to form a more potent power base for political maneuvering, he was made to marry the eldest daughter of the Schnee family, Winter Schnee. As they had grown closer over the years, they were finally agreeing to a proper wedding date.
Rock Lee, the number one martial artist in all of Mistral, and the reigning champion of Mistrals regional tournaments. As the reigning and undefeated champion of mistral for over 15 years, he was an icon of invincibility, especially when he would lead the charge against hordes of Grimm trying to destroy Mistral. He was looked at as the guardian warrior of Mistral and viewed as an unstoppable force on the fields of war. He was the people's guiding light, more then the cowardly Haven academy principal, at any rate.
Shikamaru Nara, the genius of the Nara family, and Choji Akimichi, the last giant of Vacuo. Each of their families were founding members of the council of Vacuo and had been in charge of some aspect of Vacuo ever since the founding of the kingdom. Shikamaru was due to be the next family head and was set to inherit his title soon from his lazy old man. Choji was the only member of his family in the last 30 years to have properly awoken the hereditary semblance of the clan. He could grow to immense sizes at will, while most of his other family members could only grow two limbs at the same time. The two families were widely respected by everyone in Vacuo, both on the legal side and in the criminal underground.
Yugito Nii, older sister to Kali Belladonna, sister-in-law to Ghira Belladonna, firstborn daughter to the previous chieftain of the island of menagerie, 'the golden lion', and his wife 'the black panther'. While her sister took more after their mother, she took after her father in her coloring and attitude. As the firstborn daughter of the previous chief, she still commanded a lot of the Faunus peoples' respect, considering her own reputation as 'the warrior princess of menagerie'. Her reputation as a warrior like her father and mother, as well as a known huntress with powerful connections to the rest of the world, ensured her the respect of the rest of the Faunus population.
' All of the team has high up positions in the future of the kingdoms and the future of Faunus kind in general.' He thought, mulling over the picture forming in his head. ' Is it possible he's trying to form some kind of controlling group; beyond the group he has now controlling the schools?'
As he continued to progress into his thoughts, he perked up at hearing the sound of a battle gate opening beside him. As he watched the gate, a sleek purple sports car rolled up beside him, stopping alongside the Saber. As the passenger window rolled down, he was greeted by a somewhat dour looking man with straight, neck length hair and a pronounced set of cheekbones, framing a solid black pair of eyes, that were locked onto him like a laser focus.
"… Dobe, what the hell did you call me for? I was going over my companies recent policies and deals to check for fraudulency and –" he started in to rant at his team lead, before being brutally cut off by his leader.
"Sasuke, I'm going to give you exactly five seconds to shut your mouth and wait for the others. You'll have your explanation when they get here." Interrupted Naruto, not wanting to deal with his best friends snobbish tendencies and 'Atlas Attitude'. He didn't have the patience for him right now.
As for sasuke, he decided to just sit and be quiet. His teammate was normally incredibly friendly and patient. For him to snap at him the way he did, something was either terribly wrong, or was about to be. So he decided to hold off on the normal barbs traded between himself and Naruto and wait for the rest of the team. As he sat back in his seat and got comfy, three more portals opened up around them. With a heavy sigh, he sat up and got out of his car, wanting to greet his teammates for the first time in ten years.
The first to greet Naruto and Sasuke was Lee, as was normal for the man. With a leap and a cry of 'Yosh!' he wrapped both of them in a hug, swinging them around.
" It's been so long my friends! I've missed you two!" he cheered, setting them down and clasping them by the shoulders, smiling at them with childish enthusiasm.
" Good to see you too bushy brows, how have you been the past ten years?" Questioned Naruto, wanting to know how one of his best friends on the planet was doing these past few years. They hadn't spoken in so long.
" Well, I've been doing alright I suppose. Though I haven't had a challenge since we disbanded the team, I'll have to spar with you guys again soon. I feel like I've dulled in skill over the years." Lee replied, wanting to fight with the only people who could give him a good fight these days.
" I'll take you on later, dancer boy!" came a loud, boisterous voice from the direction of the tank. Looking over, they spotted the giant of a man walking along side the shadowed genius of the squad, both of them grinning at the three of them. As Naruto greeted Shikamaru with a hug and a conversation about his brother-in-law, Lee turned fully to face Choji.
" I swear, one time I take dancing lessons with my future wife, and you've never let me live it down." Lee replied, grinning at the giant man, though if you looked closely, you could see his eye twitch lightly.
" And I never will Lee, I have way to much fun with it!" he proclaimed, grabbing Lee in a bro hug. When he finished with lee, he turned to Naruto with a small grin. " I hope you have a reason beyond just to see us all, I was in the middle of having some barbeque when you called."
" Hoh, in the middle hmm? So you only had two full meals for a family of four then? Not your usual 4?" he replied, smiling at the giant of a man as he walked up to him, looking him dead in the eye the whole time.
" Are you calling me fat, boss?" Choji questioned, leaning down to get right in Naruto's face, a prominent frown on his face.
" I'm calling you a HUNGRY FAT BASTARD!" Naruto roared, right in his face.
They stared at each other for a few moments, right up until they broke and started laughing in each others face. They laughed and laughed, right up until Naruto was pulled away by the ear by the sole Woman of the squad.
" Not even FIVE minutes being back together, and I've got to keep you from picking a fight! Will you ever grow up!?" Questioned Yugito, already getting worked up at the age-old antics of her best friends. As she pulled him away, a small smile took over her face.
"AHHH, Yugito, please let go! I'll behave I promise!" he wailed, a smile slowly forming on his face as she lessened the pressure on his ear slowly. When she finally let go, he stood upright, turned to face her, and swept her up in a hug as he spun her around in a circle. Setting her down, he leaned into the hug. " I missed you kitty." He murmured into her hair, not wanting to let her go.
Faintly smiling, she hugged him back just as hard. "Still with that stupid name, huh? You'll never change, will you?" she questioned not expecting an answer, only to get a tighter hug and a cheery 'Nope' from him.
As this was happening, sasuke glanced at the others, who stared back at him with raised eyebrows, as if to say, 'you expected anything different?', which in fairness, he did. He expected them to kiss at this point. They had it bad for each other since first day when they were made to share a bed over-night, due to the unusual team arrangement of theirs. After the first night, they told the headmaster they only needed one extra bed, and had shared right up to graduating day, despite never making it official between them. It had led to more then one amusing (and secretly cute) morning wake-up only to see them snuggling together.
" Heh, and you all say I'm whipped?" Shikamaru questioned the rest of them quietly, staring at the 'royal couple' of the five, waiting for them to break apart. When it became clear they wouldn't if they weren't broken up, he called out to them, snapping them out of their own little world, much to his amusement.
" So, now that we're all here, what's the big deal Naruto? It's been ten years since we all met up, and I know for a fact that you wouldn't call us for nothing." Prompted Shikamaru, wanting to get to the point of this impromptu meeting.
With a face carved from stone, he walked over to the Saber, and retrieved the data pad he kept stored inside for these types of situations. Pulling up the list of students at the breach, he handed it off to Shikamaru. " Hand it off once you've read it."
As each of them read the list, their eyes widened upon reading the children that were close to them. When they had all read the list, Yugito handed him back the pad and folded her arms beneath her chest, worried about her only niece. "So, what about that list is so special?"
"… It's a list of students attending the Vytal festival right now. The list was cut down to a list of students partaking in the defence of the breach, a breach in the wall of vale perpetrated by the white fang along with attracting a massive horde of Grimm from Mountain Glenn." He replied, wanting to paint a vivid picture for his team.
"Okay, that doesn't explain why you called us Naruto. If the breach has been handled, why are we here?" questioned Sasuke, wanting to get to the point of the conversation.
"Because the breach isn't over. Something else is on it's way to go for round 2 of the breach. The same monster that killed Summer is on it's way to Vale as we speak. The Behemoth is on it's way to Vale." He revealed.
Silence greeted his words; his squad were shocked into silence at the thought of a monster of that caliber heading directly into vale. It wasn't until a moment later that Yugito processed his words and drew her hands to her mouth.
"The kids, they're in his path aren't they." It was phrased as a question, but everyone knew it was a statement from Yugito.
Choosing silence, he simply nodded his head in response.
"Are Ozpin and Ironwood evacuating?" came the immediate response from Sasuke, his defence contractor and para-military training coming into play.
"Ironwood believes and has convinced Ozpin that they can hold the city against him. Between his soldiers, mechs and the arriving hunters, he believes he has the forces to hold the city against him. They are fools who have forgot their places and capabilities on the battlefield. They are stupidly thinking that they can kill him." He ranted hating the choices Ironwood was making now. What the hell was he thinking?! They can't kill him. The kingdoms have been trying since their founding to do exactly that, and in over 500 years, they have barely managed to scar the fucker, and absolutely no lasting damage.
"Then they are fools, who believe in the impossible. I'll be taking Ironwood to task for this in Atlas, his Career as General and Atlas academy headmaster will be done should he survive the monsters rampage." Responded Sasuke, knowing this was his chance to secure more control over Atlas through the military and Through the academy. If he could do that, Atlas wouldn't be under Ozma's control. It would be able to actually make some progress in the fight, without Ozma's 'wait and see' policy that Ironwood enforced.
" He's going to survive, alright. They are all going to survive." Responded Naruto, walking back over to the saber.
" If the Behemoth is going to lay waste to Vale, how in the fuck do you think they can survive?" questioned Shikamaru, his stress from the situation apparent to all. Normally not a cursing type of guy, it was apparent his stress was over the health of his boy.
"Because we're going to ensure that they all make it out. We're going back." Naruto replied, getting into the saber.
His squad started looking in amongst themselves, understanding the consequences of going back. He went back to vale, and by right of the law, he would be forced to take his family Throne. He wouldn't be as free to move anymore, something he hated the thought of. He was as free as could be out here, which was what he wanted, but if he were to go back…
"…Are you sure? You want to go back?" Questioned Yugito, knowing how he hated the thought of being contained in Vale. But deep down an idea she had been rolling around for a few years in her head was finally coming into fruition.
" I don't actually. But Ruby is in his path, my little sister's precious daughter is in his path. I refuse to lose her the way I lost Summer. I won't let it happen. I absolutely refuse." He said hopping into the saber. "Even if it means I have to take up my responsibility and isolate myself in Vale for the rest of my life, I'll do it. I'm not losing the last of Summer's legacy."
"if your sure…" Started Lee, only to be cut-off.
"I am sure. Now, Battle Force 5, Mount up!" he called sealing the hard light top of his cockpit.
At his word's, the rest of the squad straightened up and ran to their vehicles. Yugito ran to a large, Green, 4 wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle. It's tires were attached to it through long limbs between the tires and cab of the vehicle. As she reeved it up, small blades popped out of the tires and began to spin, testing their grip.
Shikamaru and Choji took off sprinting towards the largest and heaviest of the vehicles, a rather old school tank looking design in a deep shade of blue. With three wheels on either side, it was definitely the most heavily armed and armored of the five, especially with its turret on top popping up and letting loose it's chained maces that began to spin at high speeds.
Lee, meanwhile, took off towards the lightest and most maneuverable of the group, a motorcycle with two tires on the front and back attached into one tire. As he hopped on, he spun in a circle without letting off the front brakes, not moving in position while also letting him spin in the circle.
"lets go!" called Naruto, the saber spinning around and taking off towards the open salt flats. As he drove off, the others quickly followed behind and took up a V-point formation around him.
"okay squad, cars and drivers sound off!" called Naruto, falling back into their routine.
"Chopper and Lee, Youthfully prepared!"
"Buster Tank, Shikamaru and Choji, We're armed and ready!"
"Tangler and Yugito, ready for combat!"
"Reverb and Sasuke, were online!"
"Saber and Naruto, clear and ready!" came the final call "Now, let's go Battle Force 5!"

(At the breach, just after the call was made)
Today was just not Ruby Roses' day.
Scratch that, the past TWO days haven't been her day's!
A mission to mountain Glenn, that was about the plan they needed to find the white fang. What they didn't expect was for Professor (Ahem! DOCTOR, if you please!)… Doctor Oobleck to accompany them on their little scheme to find and stop the fang. Followed up by him not fighting during the encounters with Grimm, questioning the others about their reasons for being a huntress, and then taking her to meet the goliath's, which she still wanted to try and kill BTW, pulling first watch, following Zwei, finding the white fang grunts, falling into the underground base, losing Crescent Rose, getting captured and brought to Torchwick, getting interrogated by said jerk, busting lose, hoping onboard the exploding train, fighting another Paladin from Atlas, and finally crashing into the barrier into Vale, Followed up by fighting for over a half-an-hour to try and hold back the Grimm before reinforcements finally arrived to help them seal it.
Just as everyone was winding down, a beeping noise went off through everyone's scroll.
' And now we have this…' Ruby thought, slumping over in exhaustion, but still picking up the call. Only to be surprised by what happened. As she held it, it answered itself and headmaster Ozpin's face popped up on the screen overshadowing the aura gauges of her team, all of which were in the yellow.
"Attention defenders of Vale, the breach is not yet over. A second charge is coming, along with Grimm physically strong enough to breach the barrier once again. Dust rounds are being dispensed from the Vale and Beacon Armory for restocking. Arm yourselves appropriately. You have ten minutes to retrieve your ammunition and report back to the breach. That is all." Summarized Ozpin, making a clear and concise statement for all to hear and understand.
Sighing, ruby began running to where she could see a supply cache being set up nearby for convenience sake. When she got there, she found the rest of her squad there arguing about where they should be.
" I'm telling you; I at least should be on the front line. I'm better in melee/close range then I am at mid-to-long." Said Yang, getting tired of repeating herself to her white themed teammate.
" Your Aura is in the Yellow, Xaio Long! I don't know how you feel about danger, but I try at least to avoid the majority of it. Especially when my physical condition is concerned. Do you want a prosthetic limb or perhaps worse?" Questioned Weiss, ever the worrier of the team.
" She has a point Yang; your aura is down by a lot. Maybe you should hang back a bit and put your shotgun shells to use?" suggested Blake, a bit concerned about her partner. Not a surprise.
Shaking her head, yang caught sight of her little sister running up to them. Grinning she called out to her " Hey Rubes!"
"YANG! Stop calling me that!" she shouted, picking up some lightning dust rounds for piercing, fire dust for a little more stopping power, gravity rounds for even more stopping power, and some inert dust rounds for some smaller Grimm.
" Yeah Yeah, anyway tell these two that I'll be fine on the front with yellow aura will yah? They won't stop pestering me about it." Yang bulled on, utterly flippant about the danger coming their way.
"You can be on the front line, but if you hit red, you get out right away, okay yang?" replied Ruby, wanting to have faith in her sister, but also knowing how dangerous fighting with yellow or red aura levels could be.
"Sure thing Rubes!" she replied, comically saluting to her sister.
"Everyone got their dust?" Ruby questioned, wanting to confirm her teammates had their supplies. With a series of nods from her team, she made the declaration to move back to the breach.
When they got back, they found Teams JNPR and CFVY standing behind the front line of mechs, talking about the events of the breach. As the leader of JNPR spotted them he waved them over.
"Hey Ruby, come on over!" called jaune, wanting them here for this discussion.
Trotting over they greeted their team of fellow first years and second year students, they shared hellos and high-fives all around. As they calmed down and reality became to reassert itself, they began talking about the fight to come.
"Anybody have a clue about what's coming?" Questioned Blake, wanting an idea of what's to come.
" From what I heard, a class five horde is on it's way down the tunnel." reported Fox, his other senses enhanced to make up for the lacking eyesight. Besides that, he was using his semblance to listen in on the thoughts of the mech pilots around them.
"How many are in a class five horde? I've never heard that term used before." Questioned Blake, not knowing her own aunt's team made that system.
"Anywhere from one thousand Grimm and up. That's the definition of a class five horde." Replied Weiss, getting a curious glance from everyone.
"How did you know that? That ranking system is only taught at the start of second year." Questioned Coco, curious how the 'princess of Atlas' knew about the ranking system.
Scoffing, Weiss replied with a rather startling answer "I know it, because my future brother-in-law and his team made it. He taught me it as soon as I told him I wanted to be a hunter like him and my elder sister."
"Whoa whoa, you know a member of the 'Battle Force 5'? Your related to one of em?!" Questioned Coco, wanting to understand the situation here.
"Well… no not yet, but they are set to be married soon! Besides, Sasuke raised me more then my own father ever did…" Weiss replied, trailing off into silence towards the end of her sentence.
"Sasuke? Uchiha Sasuke? Heir to 'Uchiha security' Sasuke?!" questioned Blake, wanting to confirm who they were talking about.
As Weiss was about to respond, a loudspeaker came online from one of the paladins. "Attention all hunters and soldiers repelling the breach. The second wave is about to begin. Prepare yourselves." Came the voice of Ironwood, before quickly cutting off.
With the knowledge of imminent combat, the teams quickly split off and formed up ranks where they were most effective. Jaune, Yang, Fox, Yatsuhashi, and Nora had walked in front of the paladins, each of them being more effective at close range then medium to long. Blake, Weiss, Coco, Ren and Pyrrha were right behind the paladins, ready to give close range support, while Ruby and velvet, having taken a picture of Crescent Moons sniper rifle form, ware way back near the resupply point, keeping over-watch for strays and openings in the armor of bigger prey.
Even with ten Paladins, their instructors from beacon, soldiers from Atlas, fellow trainees from all the academies, and veteran hunters from all over Vale here to support them, Ruby couldn't help the shiver of fear that crawled down her spine and into the core of her being.
'This is going to go horribly; I can feel it.' Were Ruby's thoughts on the second wave.
Right as the wall in front of them blew into kingdom come, worse then the train could ever manage.
AND SCENE! Yep, there we have it! A cliff-hanger! Everyone likes those! In all seriousness, I have to end it here. I want to end it on a high note, and believe me, this chapter would be like 10000 words if I were to do the fight scene here. That's going to be a hell of a fight their in for.
Regardless, a lot of things happened in this chapter! And a lot more was hinted at as well! I will explain more on the plot points I have made in the future!
