This is just explaining what to expect, the actual story begins in chapter two.
Name: Obsidian
Race: Nazgûl (formerly Ringwraith, Wraith, and Human)
Class: Warrior
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Title(s): Ringlord, Gravewalker, Lord of Nazarick, Supreme Being of Nazarick, Lord of the Nine
Physical Description: He stands 5'11 (180.34 cm) and has hair that is such a dark shade of green it appears black unless you and he are in just the right light. He has pale skin due to his nature as an undead, he also has bright yellow eyes that glow in the dark, around his eyes are black veins that reach about halfway across his face in every direction. His sword hangs off of his shoulder and his shortsword sits on his back just above his waist.
Character Background: Once a mortal man, Obsidian used a modified lich ritual to turn himself into a Wraith. After that, he reforged the ring that acted as his phylactery allowing himself to remain in his body rather than being a ghost wandering the world. As a Wraith he was found and welcomed into Ainz Ooal Gown and became one of the most loyal of the supreme beings. After years of work, he was able to ascend to the rank of Ringwraith. Once he had become a Ringwraith he gained an edge to combat that rivaled thousands, he quickly became one of the top ten warriors in Nazarick. It was only recently that he had managed to reach the end of his power when he ascended to the rank of Nazgûl.
Nazgûl: A Nazgûl is the warrior equivalent of an Overlord, boasting great physical strength compared to an Overlord's magical strength. A Nazgûl can use certain abilities and spells that were unlocked and upgraded every ascension. A Nazgûl can move from the realms of life and death at will, appearing to disappear to the living. They can see that which has been lost to time and can pull the shadows of items from the past. A Nazgûl can use the powers and abilities of a Wraith and a Ringwraith however Nazgûl can forge a total of thirteen rings granting the status of lesser Nazgûl to any who wear them. The abilities dominate, shame, raise dead, and shriek are accessible.
Lesser Nazgûl: These wraiths are half ringwraith-half Nazgûl who are somewhere in between the two in terms of power depending on their previous attributes (A Lesser Nazgûl's dominant traits such as strength or swordsmanship are reinforced while their lesser traits are also boosted).
Ringwraith: A more powerful Wraith that is bound by its body and the ring that it wears. The abilities drain, wraith fist, and wraith sprint are accessible.
Wraith: A Wraith is the first step to becoming a Nazgûl and is one of the weakest races. A Wraith is a spirit bound to the world in some way. By keeping a phylactery in life, a wraith can bind itself to its own body effectively becoming a living corpse that while immune to rotting can no longer be considered alive. Able to enter wraith form, use spectral glaive, and spectral bow/hammer.
Weapon Proficiency: One-handed, Ambidextrous
Minor Weapon Proficiency: Dual-wielding, Archery
Weapon(s):
Hir -o cuil (Lord of Life): A twisted longsword with a straight crossguard and a rounded pommel.
Dring -o polod (Hammer of Strength): A spiked hammer that has a five-pointed head with a singular spike on the opposite end.
Naeth gwathren (Biting Shadow): A serrated shortsword with a crossguard that bends in the shape of a stretched U.
Armor Proficiency: Heavy Plate
Language: Common Speech (able to read, speak, and translate the most common languages in an area instantly), Dark/Black Speech (a language known only by a few certain sects of undead and evil creatures), and Demon Speech.
Resistances: Poisons, curses, dark magic, illnesses, fire.
Healed From: Healing potions/spells, poisons, first aid practices/techniques, leech life spells (completely reverses it so Obsidian is healed and the one casting the spell is hurt).
Weaknesses: Silver (weakness is not as severe as a typical undead), holy magic (very painful and extended exposure is lethal), lightning, frost/cold.
Special Traits:
Ringforger: Due to years of constant upkeep of his ring as a Wraith, Obsidian can create, enchant, and engrave rings with a mastery that few others can match.
Seasoned Warrior: Due to years of wearing, repairing, and enhancing his armor and weapons Obsidian can do more damage with his weapons and block more damage with his armor. Maintenance of his weapons and armor takes fewer resources and takes less time to do while granting better results.
Lord of Nazirick: As one of the supreme beings of Nazarick, Obsidian is granted an aura of intimidation that creates a maximum of 25% drop to an enemy player's morale and a 15% drop to an enemy NPC's morale (Neutral NPCs, such as villagers, are affected by a 2% drop when a supreme being is masked, effect jumps to 30% when unmasked).
Abilities:
Adaptation: A Nazgûl is the most powerful form of wraiths and is host to the most power of all the wraiths. Unlike most wraiths, a Nazgûl is a pure spirit in a humanoid form as such they are able to grow their power with every day they remain alive. In YGGDRASIL, there was a cap to how much of an advantage this trait could grant, but in the new world, this trait is fully unlocked, and not even Obsidian himself knows the extent of his potential anymore.
Resurrection: Should a wraith die in any way their body will destroy and rebuild itself on top of the nearest safe location (the distance the wraith must travel to reach the safe location affects the time it takes to resurrect).
Interrogate: The wraith can reach inside the minds and memories of their enemies living entire years at a time or focusing on a specific moment.
Spectral Glaive: A blade made of the energy of the realm of death, can be summoned at any time by a Wraith; however, it is far more powerful in the hands of a Nazgûl. It is capable of pushing back or slaying several enemies at a time.
Wraith Form: This allows for the Wraith to fully enter the realm of death, allows the Wraith to see the pulse of the living and the energy of the dead through anything.
Spectral Bow/Hammer: A bow or hammer made of the energy of the realm of death, can be summoned at any time but the number of arrows or hammers weighs on the Wraith, with the potential of being lethal if the Wraith is overexerted.
Dominate: The Wraith extends its will bending the weak to the Wraith's preference. Dominate only works on creatures with a will to dominate, (golems and undead, like skeletons, cannot be dominated this way as they are being controlled by another will) animals, mind-controlled individuals, and many monsters however can be dominated.
Mass Dominate: If the Wraith strikes the ground while infused it releases a shockwave of energy that can dominate weak-willed enemies and damage enemy morale for those who are not dominated (if used on enemies that cannot be dominated they are simply drained).
Drain: The Wraith pulls the life force of the living and the magic of the dead to rejuvenate the Wraith. The Wraith can pull the life energies out of a living creature a total of three times before they die. The wraith can drain a weak undead such as a skeleton once before they return to death, stronger undead like vampires can be drained three times before dying.
Shame: The Wraith drowns the minds of others in its hatred and rage weakening the afflicted body, if the Wraith puts enough energy into the shaming the afflicted mind will break.
Raise Dead: While not as powerful as a full necromancer's spells, a Nazgûl can raise the corpses of the dead in a large area. These dead are merely raised, they are not any stronger than they were when they died. If given better equipment they are raised in strength and speed in a percent equivalent to the armor level difference (if a raised corpse is in clothes it can take five full force hits before dying once more if it is given iron armor they can take fifteen full force hits before dying). If the bodies are too damaged to be raised or are simply not there anymore a Nazgûl can raise the spirits of the dead to serve them instead, however, spirits have much more freedom than a raised corpse and while painful they can forcefully return to their death.
Wraith Fist: The Wraith infuses its arms with energy creating a net of power that wraps itself around whoever is struck. If the Wraith strikes the ground while infused it releases a shockwave of energy that can knock down stronger-willed enemies.
Wraith Sprint: The Wraith infuses itself with energy-giving itself a boost of speed and agility, often appearing to the living as the Wraith simply teleporting. It also allows for the Wraith to scale large surfaces with ease.
Wraith Glide: The Wraith can cover relatively small distances in a single burst of speed either in the air or on land up to a mile. It is useful for reaching objects or creatures before they can move.
Shriek: The most powerful weapon in a Nazgûl's arsenal, their shriek pierces the hearts of man and beast. The shriek terrifies weak-willed humans often causing them to flee or slay themselves.
