Author's Notes: Writing Warrior) Obsidian created the nine Nazgûl as his creations however the tribes are quite diverse so at least two of those Uruks will be making an appearance. Rexzilla7) I hope this chapter answers your question. Orc-King) Have no fear she and her sisters will live happily ever after (their parents will have to do some major sucking up to get a chance at a similar fate though) he's also going to be playing a part in the fates of two other families, I don't really have any idea how to put the nemesis system in here but if you have an idea I'll be glad to hear it. Romance Breeding and Story Artist) there are plans for some pairing but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun to tell you who she/possible they are. Feel free to tell me about your ideas, I can't tell you how many times today I smiled while reading your comments (just seeing that people care about this story enough to voice their opinions about it is wonderful and very fulfilling).
The Tenth Floor of Nazarick was created by the devs of Yggdrasil as half of Obsidian's reward for sticking to the Wraith race and surviving long enough to become a Nazgûl. The floor was made to house the second half of Obsidian's reward, the Savage Orcs. Now, Savage Orcs are different from other orcs; normal orcs are a half-breed race between a pair of races, which races change according to the source you get information from but the main point is orcs are half breeds that possess great strength and a tribal lifestyle. Savage Orcs according to the dev's lore were created from elves who had fallen to some type of corruption and had become twisted into a pale shadow of what they used to be. The Savage Orcs are split into three main groups: Basic Orc, Olog, and Whelp Orc.
The Basic Orcs otherwise known as Uruks are fast, strong, relentless, and enjoy inflicting pain just as much as killing. Uruks are about one or two heads taller than an average man and possess a hatred that rivals an angry dragon's for a thief. Ologs are a combination of an Uruk and a Troll resulting in a creature that can deal tons of damage and take just as much, however they are slower than the other two branches of Savage Orcs. An olog stands two to two and a half men taller than the average man, because of their size and strength Ologs tend to favor large heavy weapons used for crushing and smashing. Finally, there are the Whelp Orcs who are slaves in all but name, they are the weakest of the branches and often are forced into service to the other two branches and they possess an almost religious devotion to Obsidian. Whelp Orcs are only slightly taller than the average man and despite being weaker than the other branches Whelp Orcs often possess great knowledge compared to their sibling branches. All three branches are deathly loyal to Obsidian and often quarrel amongst themselves over which branch is the most loyal. Moving further down the class system is the tribes with a total of nine: Dark, Feral, Marauder, Warmonger, Terror, Outlaw, Slaughter, Mystic, and Machine.
The Dark Tribe is dedicated to creating poisons, curses, and advancing necromancy to suit the whims of Obsidian. Many often mutilate themselves or each other to show their devotion to their master's power.
The Feral Tribe is dedicated to mastering the natural world and bending it to Obsidian's will. They often enslave and train dangerous animals to show their power and gain their master's favor.
The Marauder Tribe is a splinter tribe of the Warmonger Tribe; they found that war should only be waged for three reasons: boredom, Obsidian commands it, or there is plenty of loot to be taken. They collect and hoard anything that catches their eyes, often piling it at the feet of monuments to Obsidian.
The Warmonger Tribe took the Savage Orc's love of violence and dedicated their lives to mastering it. Their goal is to become the ultimate soldier to serve Obsidian better than the other tribes.
The Terror Tribe saw how their master makes his enemies flee in terror or slay themselves to escape him and decided to follow his example. They experiment with every means of inflicting fear in order to finally create something so horrifying that it makes their master himself recoil in fear.
The Outlaw Tribe believes that the Savage Orcs delude themselves by separating into tribes and they seek to unite their kind in service of Obsidian. They are the most confrontational of the tribes, often having prisoners chained before monuments to Obsidian.
The Slaughter Tribe was founded after an accidental trip to Nazarick's kitchens, the Savage Orcs were amazed by the skill and art of slicing meat and preparing it for feasting. They decorate themselves in skins and furs of their slain enemies in honor of their ideology and their ultimate goal to be able to prepare a dish for Obsidian.
The Mystic Tribe is dedicated to magic of any kind although they specialize in three areas: necromancy, foresight, and anything that can be used to kill or dismember their enemies. They often prepare brews of hallucinogenic herbs in order to gain visions so they may one day figure out how to rise to the rank of Wraith and become Obsidian's chosen.
The Machine Tribe is the most advanced of the tribes often shunning magic in favor of more physical means of achieving the same result. They continue to research their technology so they may become the superior tribe in Obsidian's eyes, one that rose not because of magic or trickery but through ingenuity and perseverance.
The Tenth Floor itself was a huge swath of subterranean land with a false sun and moon that moved on a regular schedule. Each tribe has a fort in different areas of the Tenth Floor and each one reflects the beliefs and tactics of the tribes, all of the forts house monuments to Obsidian proudly on display. The Dark Fort is stained black with alchemy stations ready to be used, The Feral Fort is outfitted with furs and pelts often with various caged animals ready to be let out to hunt, The Marauder Fort is a clean and pristine building with various chests full of gold littering the fort, The Warmonger Fort is built for defense with spikes covering the top of the battlements to prevent anyone from scaling the walls to protect the several forges and armor racks spread throughout the fort, The Terror Fort is covered in mangled bits of former enemies (some still being alive)and houses several tourture devices, The Outlaw Fort is plain in appearance if a little run down, The Slaughter Fort is covered in flesh and painted with blood it has dozens of cooking areas with all sorts of meats being treated in different ways, The Mystic Fort is decorated with silver statues depicting one of the various types of magic that they practice, The Machine Fort is made of brick and a constant plume of black smoke billows out from behind its walls, and finally at the center of the Tenth Floor is Fort Empty which acts as a neutral area for Obsidian to make public speeches at and due to the overlord of the fort being chosen by Obsidian himself Fort Empty has been spared from the conflicts between the tribes.
Fort chains of command are as follows Overlord, Warchiefs, Captains, Soldiers, Whelps. Overlords are the best, brightest, or most dangerous Savage Orcs in the tribe and they oversee the success of their tribe. There can only be a total of six Warchiefs at a time and they serve and protect the Overlord. Captains obey the Warchiefs but are for the most part independent and allowed to do or kill whatever they want. Captains order Soldiers and Whelps who act as basic foot soldiers. The current Overlord of Fort Empty is a Whelp named Ratbag who despite being clumsy, unlucky, and a coward has managed to crawl his way to the position of Warchief before Obsidian chose him to lead Fort Empty.
