Things Change

My name is Leonardo. And right now, my brothers, Morgan and I are in a mess of trouble.

In a dark alleyway, under the moonlight, five figures in the shadows were facing a gang, all ready to fight them with weapons, ranging from pipes, chains, staffs, baseball bats and any other thing they'd used.

The five figures all had weapons on hand, one, clad with a purple mask is wielding a bo staff. Next to him, an orange mask clad figure with two nunchucks, next to him, a red mask clad figure wielding two sais, next to him, a blue mask clad figure with one of two ninjatō swords in hand. And finally, a figure, not wearing a mask but had a ninjatō sword, without a square guard and a tanto knife without a square guard in both hands. His weapons are special compared to his companions due to the fact that the blades are made of Damascus Steel, making them tougher than standard swords and there's distinct patterns of banding and mottling on the blades reminiscent of flowing water.

Our backs are up against the wall in some trash strewn alley. Cornered by the toughest street gang on the east side.

The gang faced the figures, so eager and so sure that victory was in their favour. They even mocked them.

"Look at the freaks and geek."

"What's with the dweeby costumes?"

"This ain't Halloween."

One of the gang members, wearing a red and yellow coat with purple oriental dragons on the sleeves and having long turquoise hair stood forward with a staff.

"You're going down, losers." He said, spinning his staff around.

"Nobody messes with the Purple Dragons. Especially wearing stupid turtle costumes." He then mocked as the figures came out of the shadows to reveal four humanoid turtles with fully white eyes and three fingers and two toes. The fifth figure was a human in his early 20's, had short brunette hair, stubble, blue eyes, a few scars on his knuckles and cheek and was wearing a long sleeve white henley shirt that opens up on the left, black jeans, black fingerless gloves and boots. He also has a whetstone kept on his utility belt with the scabbard of his tanto. The scabbard for his sword is on his back.

The turtle with the swords pulled out his other sword from his scabbards on his shell in his hand and snarled, narrowing his eyes and gritting his teeth.

He's wrong. We're not wearing costumes.

"HYAH!" The five all shouted as they leaped forward, ready to fight.

An average night in the city that never sleeps, light traffic, people going about their day, hanging out with friends or having dinner with family.

However, there was a world down in the sewers that the citizens of New York weren't aware of. A world that would seem like it was sparked from the imagination of a child.

"Remember, to be a true ninja you must become one with the shadows. Darkness gives the ninja power, while light reveals the ninja's presence." A voice explained in the darkness of an underground lair. The voice belonged to a mutant rat named Splinter, who wore a brown kimono and held up a small lit candle on his walking stick as he was on his knees.

Elsewhere in the darkness was a woman in her mid 40's, long brunette hair tied up into a bun and wearing a dark green kimono was on her knees, eyes closed as she was meditating. And attached to her waist was a scabbard with a katana sword in it.

"Now can you extinguish this flame without revealing yourselves?" Splinter then addressed his students before flipping the candle into his hand and closing his eyes, relying on his senses.

The first of his students to attempt this trial zoomed towards the candle to extinguish it but Splinter moved it out of the way and this student, was the one wearing a purple mask and used a bo staff, hit the wall and fell on his side, groaning in pain.

"Too noisy, Donatello." Splinter told the first of his five students, opening his eyes with an amused look on his face.

The next to make his attempt, wearing an orange mask and spinning one of his nunchucks, jumped towards Splinter and flipped but the mutant rat stood up and stepped back, making the student lose control and crash right into Donatello, making them both groan in pain.

"Too clumsy, Michelangelo." Splinter critiqued, eyes closed and back on his knees.

Behind him, a student, wearing a red mask and wiedling two sais, crept up behind him and leaped at him, but Splinter ducked forward, making the student miss him but he landed on his feet and faced Splinter, who stood up and took a few steps back.

The student twirled his sais and charged at his sensei but he turned around, got back on his knees and stuck his walking stick out, tripping the student and making his flip onto his shell and slide into Donatello and Michelangelo, making all three groan, hiss and snarl in pain and annoyance.

"Poor choice, Raphael." Splinter chastised him as he stood back up.

Out of a shadow came out his next student and the odd one out as he was the only human. He silently made his way to Splinter, wielding a ninjatō sword without a square guard and had a tanto knife, without a square guard, kept on his belt. He got right behind Splinter and was about to swing his sword when Splinter, without looking, stabbed his stomach with his walking stick and then kicked him in the chest, throwing him back on the floor, moaning at the sudden jab at his stomach.

The woman, who was still meditating, shook her head with a smirk in amusement.

"Too foolhardy, Morgan." Splinter stated.

Unknown to him, up above where the pipes were, was his remaining student, wearing a blue mask and carrying two ninjatō on his shell, who opened his pure white eyes and then dropped down, pulling out his swords and slashed the candle in half.

He then landed on his knee and foot and caught the burning end of the candle on the blade of one of his swords, revealing him to be one of four humanoid turtles. He then brought the candle up to his face and blew it out.

Splinter then turned the lights on with a switch, revealing the main foyer of their lair. The woman ended her meditation and helped up Morgan, who sheathed his sword on his back, as did the turtles with their weapons and they all walked over to Splinter.

"Well done, Leonardo." Splinter praised his student, who tossed the burned out candle in his hand.

"Teacher's pet." Raph snarled at Leo.

"Ninja dropout." Leo shot back, throwing the candle to Raph, who caught it.

"Ooh." Mikey, Donnie and Morgan mocked as Raph snarled right into Leo's face as he squeezed the candle into nothing.

"My sons." Splinter intervened, hating to see his children fight. As did the woman, whose son, Morgan, had a particular relationship with one of the turtles. That turtle being Leonardo as they have been boyfriends for 8 years.

"*sighs* Our sons. If you are to become true ninja, you must work harder." Splinter then said, making all five go on their knees in front of Splinter and the woman. From their left to right is Donnie, Raph, Leo, Morgan and Mikey.

"For all of you, your path in life will not be easy, including you, Morgan." The woman, named Jessica, told all of them. Mikey's attention however was more focused on a fly.

"The outside world will not be a friendly place for you. You five are different in ways the surface dwellers would never understand. To survive, you must master these skills we teach you. Ninjutsu powers of stealth and secrecy." Splinter explained. As he did, Mikey got distracted by the fly again, trying to catch it but failing.

"You must become kage - shadow warriors - and you must never be discovered by the outside world." Splinter then warned them right as Mikey caught the fly in his hands. Both Jessica and Splinter stood in front of him with stern expressions on their faces. Mikey looked up at them, scared that he may be in trouble.

However, before any one of them said or did anything, the lair started to shake as though the Earth was rumbling.

"What is going on?" Jessica questioned as everyone stood up and saw that pebbles and stones from above were falling and the shaking didn't stop and just kept getting more intense.

"Whoa, earthquake!" Mikey exclaimed as everyone, except Donnie backed up from the rubble falling.

"In New York? Possible, but not likely." He pondered thoughtfully but then a large slab of concrete landed right in front of him and he joined back up with everyone.

Then part of the wall to the left exploded and out stepped through the dust were these small robots that had a yellow light on each of their heads. The turtles, Morgan and Jessica pulled out their weapons upon seeing these robots as they came towards them, roaring.

"What the shell are these things?" Morgan asked everyone, both confused and worried about them.

"New York City cockroaches?" Mikey asked with his trademark sarcasm.

"Whatever they are, they picked the wrong party to crash." Raph growled before he kicked one of them back with enough force that it sank into the floor on its back. One of them approached Donnie and he swung his staff at it, throwing it back elsewhere. Another approached him and he swung at it but it caught his staff with its maw of sharp metal teeth. Seeing that it won't let go, he smashed it against the floor.

Morgan charged at four of the robots and he then slid on the floor and as he reached the robots, he sliced and diced them with his sword and knife. He stood back up and stabbed a couple more of them before throwing them towards Raph, who stabbed them.

Mikey jumped on some of the robots, swinging and spinning his nunchucks at them, destroying them or throwing them against the walls. He then grabbed another as it approached him.

"Hey, Leo. Think fast." He shouted as he threw it to his older brother, who sliced it and then he jumped forward and sliced two more up before landing back on the floor.

With Jessica and Splinter, they were fighting side by side against these robots on one side of the lair, getting slightly overwhelmed. Both Morgan and Leo saw this and knew they had to do something.

"Guys, we gotta help Master Splinter and mom!" Morgan informed the others as they all charged.

"Come on!" Leo then shouted before they all started fighting more of these robots, Mikey for example kicking one right into a beam that fell apart upon contact. Splinter smashed two more with his walking stick and Jessica severed a couple more with her katana.

However, everyone didn't see that some of these metal menaces were eating through the support beams and that was when the lair started to shake again as Raph jumped towards and smashed some more robots. The ceiling started to crack, which was noticed by Leo and then the ceiling started to cave in, over Raph.

"Look out!" He shouted as he grabbed his brother and jumped back in time to avoid getting crushed.

The turtles and Morgan watched as both Splinter and Jessica continued fighting against the robots as the ceiling caved in more, separating them from their sons. They all gasped in worry and charged right through the dust.

"Oh no!" Donnie muttered.

"Master Splinter!" Raph called out.

"Mom!" Morgan also called out. They made it through the dust to the wall of rubble that looked impossible to move.

"Master Splinter! Jessica! NOOO!" Leo cried out after he tried to move some of the rubble.

Raph had built up anger in him that he stormed over to a partly destroyed robot that activated and roared until he smashed it with his foot, causing it to spark out smoke. He then put his sais into his belt.

"What the shell are those things?" Mikey questioned as he examined a crushed up one.

"Whatever they were, they're junk now." Raph answered as he kicked the crushed up bot away.

Morgan was trying to not cry right now as he had to push through his distraught state and helped Leo and Donnie in trying to find a way to get to Splinter and Jessica as he really cared for both of them.

"Guys, we've got to find Splinter and Jessica. Guys! Can you hear me?" Leo shouted as Raph and Mikey joined up with them.

"I hope they're alright." Morgan said, looking down at his feet. Seeing this, Leo walked up to him and hugged him tenderly, kissing his stray tear away on his left cheek.

"Don't worry. We'll find them." He assured his boyfriend, who nodded as Leo patted his back and then pulled out of the hug. As this happened, Donnie pulled out something from his bag.

"Donatello, any way to-" Leo was about to order when he heard a beeping so he turned to see his brother with what they all call a Shell Cell in his hand by his ear.

"What are you doing?" He then asked the brains of the group.

"Shell Cell. I'm calling Jessica, I hope." Donnie told him.

On the other side of the debris, both Jessica and Splinter were unconscious until Jessica woke up from the beeping of her Shell Cell. She groaned, sitting up and seeing Splinter.

"Splinter. Wake up." She gently nudged him and he too woke up as she pulled out her Shell Cell.

"Hey, boys." She greeted.

Back with the turtles and Morgan, upon hearing her voice, they all grinned, relieved to hear her. Leo then grabbed the Shell Cell and put it on speaker.

"Jessica, are you and Master Splinter injured?" He asked.

"No, we're both alright, Leo." She replied, making everyone let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good. Master Splinter, what do we do?" Leo asked his sensei.

"Leonardo, whatever those mechanical menaces are, they have managed to eat through the support structure of our home. We must leave right away. Meet me and Jessica at the old drainage junction near South Point." Splinter told the turtles and Morgan through the Shell Cell. Mikey tried to move in closer to listen but Raph shoved him away, making him fall onto the ground in pain.

Donnie went into his duffle bag and pulled out a map showing the layout of the sewers.

"If we take the south conduit, it'll intercept with the old drainage tunnel." He told everyone who agreed with the plan right away.

"We'll meet you both there, Sensei." Leo assured and then he hanged up the Shell Cell.

"What'd he say? What'd he say? Did he mention me?" Mikey asked, back on his feet and behind his brothers. Raph just pushed him away in annoyance. Morgan rolled his eyes.

After a short while where they all gathered things up and readied themselves up for their trek, Mikey decided to make a goodbye speech to his home.

"Goodbye broken pipe. Goodbye grungy payphone. Goodbye dented manhole cover. Goodbye home, sweet home." Mikey delivered with slight theatricality and Raph walked up to him to grab him and be on their way.

"Hello cruel world. Come on." He said, pulling Mikey and joined up with the others, walking through the hole those robots made and walked down a sewer tunnel.

"Looks like those things have been through here." Leo pointed out.

"What I wouldn't give to learn who made them and teach 'em a lesson." Morgan muttered, making Leo hold his hand and stroke it with his thumb to calm him down, which did work as Morgan took a deep breath through his nose.

"These walls are seriously compromised. It's lucky this roof hasn't caved in." Donnie explained but then they all stopped as the tunnel was blocked with another wall of rubble.

"You were saying?" Raph questioned him.

"*snarls* Can't go forward, can't go back." Leo stated. Raph had an idea which was really the only one they could take.

"Looks like we go up." He told everyone before making his way to a nearby ladder leading up to the surface.

"Hitting the surface is a bad idea." Leo warned as he stopped Raph from going up further on the ladder.

"We've got no other way to go, Leo." Donnie reminded him.

"As much as I don't like the idea, they're right, Leo. There's no choice in the matter." Morgan further argued to his boyfriend. Leo, despite being cautious, knew they were all right, especially Morgan.

"*sighs* Alright. But we're only going up to go down the next manhole, got it? No fooling around. Remember what Sensei and Jessica said, it's dangerous for us to be seen, let alone captured. We need to stay out of sight." Leo warned.

"We got it the first thousand times, Leo. Just follow my lead." Raph retorted before he continued up the ladder and when he reached the manhole cover, he lifted it off and saw that it led to an alleyway where there were shadows to hide in.

He jumped out and pressed himself against a wall and Leo then popped his head out.

"Come on, guys, move it. I don't wanna be staring at Morgan's butt any longer than I have to." Mikey complained as he waved his hand in front of his face.

"At least it ain't yours." Morgan retorted as Leo and Raph heard a sound approaching.

"Shh, guys." Leo whispered before he ducked and Raph pressed back up against the wall as someone drove past on a scooter. He then walked out of the alleyway and as he stood by a door leading into a nightclub, he heard voices approaching the door and so he jumped up onto the canopy above the door as a couple walked out, laughing. Raph then jumped onto a lamppost and across the street, he saw another manhole cover in another alleyway.

"Ahh, manhole cover, twelve o'clock." He sighed before leaping off and jumping over a parked car and hid as a car drove down the street.

Before he could head over to the manhole cover, he saw headlights from a blue truck heading his way.

"Ahh. Now what?" He groaned as he hid by the front of the car, watching the truck reverse into the alleyway and park there. He got closer and watched as three figures stepped out and entered through a door. With them gone, Raph got much closer to the truck and looked to see that one of the tires was over the manhole cover, which meant that until those three came back out and drove off, they wouldn't enter through the manhole cover.

"Great, just great. The old turtle luck working true to form." He commented before he stood back up and kicked the truck with a snarl.

"Way to be stealthy, Raph." Leo called out to him by the corner leading out to the street. Morgan, Mikey and Donnie were with him as well.

"Yeah, I don't think they heard you over in Joisey." Mikey remarked, making Morgan roll his eyes yet again.

"Give me a hand." Raph groaned, which led to Mikey looking like he was about to make another remark that he thought was funny.

"Don't even think about it, Mikey." Raph warned him, wagging his finger. Leo pointed behind him at Mikey, shaking his head in annoyance while Morgan smacked the back of his head.

"Will you ever not waste time?" He snapped quietly at him.

"Ahh, forget you guys, I'll push it myself." Raph then waved off before he went to the back of the truck, which was opened and he tried to push it off the manhole cover.

However, by the door those three men entered, voices were heard from the other side and the shadow outline of one of them can be seen through the small window. Raph saw this as the door handle was moving.

"Raph, get over here." Morgan told him, waving his arm out. But for some stupid reason, Raph didn't listen to him and instead jumped into the truck as the door opened.

"No!" All the other turtles and Morgan all hissed quietly, shocked by how stupid Raph was at that very moment.

"Poor choice, Raphael." Mikey commented.

"Does he have 3 brain cells in that hot head of his?" Morgan questioned.

Either way, they watched as the three figures, with two others, walked out, this time with bags in their hands. What was noticeable was that they all had a purple oriental dragon on their clothes or tattooed on them as though they were part of a gang.

"Did you see the way that guy squirmed when we took his cash? Sheep, man. Sheep to be fleeced by us wolves." One of them laughed. He had long turquoise hair and wore a yellow and red jacket that had two purple dragons on his sleeves. He and two others threw the bags into the truck as they all laughed. Raph hid by hanging onto the ceiling to avoid being seen.

The gang member with the jack closed the truck up and pressed a code on a lock to further lock it up before they entered and drove off, being watched by the turtles and Morgan.

"Oh, man." Leo muttered.

"Imagine their surprise when they open the back of that truck." Mikey noted.

"They'd freak out." Morgan added.

"This is exactly what Master Splinter and Jessica were talking about. We've gotta get him out of there." Leo told them all.

"Last one to the roof hatched from a rotten egg." Donnie joked as he and the others all ran to a fire escape and they all jumped up to it, Donnie being the first, then Morgan, then Leo and finally Mikey. They all made their way up to the roof and ran to the edge of the roof to see the truck drive down the street.

"We can cut them off at third and first." Leo told his brothers and Morgan.

"If we run like crazy." Donnie pointed out.

"Is there any other way to run?" Mikey questioned.

"Not really." Morgan replied.

The four all ran and jumped across a gap to another building, following the truck and Mikey ended up ahead of his brothers and Morgan, casually jumping across buildings.

"You guys are too slow." He bragged, stopping to look back, only to see the three jump and flip over him and continue on without stopping.

"Hey!" He yelled before running to catch up with them.

As the three all jumped and ran across more rooftops without breaking focus and without breaking a sweat, Mikey jumped on top of a rooftop door and slid down it before flipping off and caught what was washing line with one of his nunchucks but then he crashed through a green shirt and landed on his butt on the next rooftop.

"*sniffs* Mmm. Springtime fresh." He complimented the shirt that covered his face before he took it off and went on to catch up with his brothers and Morgan.

Down in the sewers, both Splinter and Jessica were walking towards a brightly lit room and upon entering, they saw that it was where they were heading to.

"Ah, the old drainage junction. Now where are our sons?" Splinter said, looking around.

"I don't know. I hope they're alright." Jessica replied. The two then heard rumbling from beneath their feet and saw cracks being formed and growing bigger before they exploded and four more of those robots jumped out. Jessica pulled out her katana as the robots roared, snapping their dentures.

"Just great." Jessica spat as she and Splinter looked slightly startled.

Back up on the surface, Raph looked out through the back windows of the truck as it drove down the streets and then into an alleyway where it then reversed and parked with its front facing the street.

Hearing the doors to the truck open, the red clad turtle hid from the window to avoid being seen.

The four gang members all exited the truck and headed off elsewhere.

"Hey, Two Ton, watch the truck. We wouldn't want somebody to steal our stolen money." The one with the long hair ordered the one that looked like a brute, wielding a bat that had screws in it before he walked off, leaving Two Ton to pace around the truck.

Up above, Leo, Morgan, Donnie and Mikey looked down in silence, preparing to get Raph out but needed to take care of Two Ton.

Two Ton, as he paced back and forth, heard a metal can being kicked nearby. On edge, he looked around the corner of the truck to see nothing, leaving him confused until he felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned to see Mikey, covered by the shadows.

"Hey. This is a no parking zone. Here's your ticket and here's your fine." Mikey told him before he kicked him really hard in the chest, throwing the big brute against the truck, knocking him out cold.

"Nice work, Mikey." Leo praised him as he, Morgan and Donnie jumped down and joined him.

"Yeah, not bad." Morgan further praised him.

"Heh, it's a ninja thing." Mikey shrugged off.

"Now, let's get Raph out of there." Leo told everyone as they saw Raph punch the windows and yelled but they heard him speak unintelligently.

"Man. Whatever happened to good old fashioned padlocks?" Mikey asked as he noticed how high tech the lock was.

"Heh. Where's the fun in that? This one's all mine." Donnie said with a grin as he pulled out and spun two screwdrivers from his duffle bag before he started work, putting on some goggles as he did so.

Raph continued punching the window and yelling, his voice still sounding unintelligent through the glass.

"What's that, Raphael? You're gonna have to speak up, dude. I can't hear you." Mikey annoyed Raph, making him growl and punch the window with his fist.

"Okay, I heard that." Mikey retorted.

"I'm trying to work here." Donnie turned and frowned at him for disturbing his concentration.

Back in the drainage junction, Jessica and Splinter were now surrounded by five of those robots, cornering them as they closed in on them.

One roared at Splinter before it bit down on his kimono.

"Back off!" Jessica shouted, swinging her katana at, which caused it to fly back into a wall but it then got back up and shook it off like it was nothing before it roared and joined back up with the other robots.

Both masters had their weapons ready and watched as two of the robots jumped at them.

Up above, Donnie was nearly finished cracking the lock on the truck as he opened it up and connected two wires, causing some sparks to fly and feeling satisfied, he backed up, moving his goggles off as the truck doors opened up.

"Hey, Raph. Welcome back, bro." Mikey said as Raph charged out and tackled Mikey and started to beat him up for annoying him too much.

"What a hothead." Leo muttered to Morgan and Donnie.

"You'd think Mikey would learn by now." Morgan added, referring to the fact that every time Mikey annoyed Raph, he'd get beat up.

But as Raph continued beating his brother up, Leo, Morgan and Donnie looked behind them and grew worried, to the point that they pulled their weapons out.

"Uh, Raph…" Donnie said with concern.

"We don't have time for this." Leo continued as they backed up to join them.

"And why not?" Raph asked, looking over his shoulder as he shoved Mikey up against a pillar.

"Because we're not alone." Mikey answered for him as he and Raph joined up and pulled their weapons out because the gang members they saw were back with some more of their own, holding various weapons.

"Look at the freaks and geek."

"What's with the dweeby costumes?"

"This ain't Halloween."

"You're going down, losers. Nobody messes with the Purple Dragons, especially wearing stupid turtle costumes." The gang member with the long turquoise hair mocked as he spun a staff in his hand.

All this did was encourage and pump up the turtles and Morgan that they each displayed their skills with their various weapons, gritting their teeth and eyes narrowed before they all leaped at the Purple Dragons and took them all down with ease, throwing almost all of them into a pile. Seeing that they were outmatched, the entire gang then all ran for their lives.

"Give me some green." Mikey remarked before he high threed with Raph.

"Well, that was easier than expected." Donnie pointed out.

"You'd think a gang like them would be better fighters." Morgan replied, slightly miffed that they didn't provide a challenge.

"I hope there are more of those guys. I'm just getting warmed up." Raph stated, wanting more action.

As though the universe answered him, both Mikey and Morgan saw a shadow come from above and they looked to see something they didn't expect.

"Looks like your wish just came true." Morgan replied, pointing up at the roofs as a large number of ninjas looked down on them.

"Are those guys ninjas?" Leo questioned, confused as to why they were even in New York since they're figures from Japan.

The ninjas then all jumped down and surrounded them all. They all wore the same black and grey uniforms that all had a red foot symbol on their chests.

"Well, they're certainly ninja-esque." Mikey said.

"Be ready for anything." Leo warned everyone as he crossed his ninjatōs together. Morgan did the same with his and his tanto.

"I am so gonna enjoy this." Raph grinned.

Donnie made the first move, pole vaulting over some of the ninjas, landing behind two of them on his knees. He then spun to swipe them off their feet with his staff before standing back up to see two more jump to confront him, one of which had a sword in his hand.

Donnie blocked the sword and the other ninja with his staff and knocked them onto their backs.

Initially, he thought that was over and done with but then they got back up on their feet, which surprised him.

Three other ninja all jumped around Raph and tried to attack him all at once but he dodged their moves with ease.

"Nice dragon kick. Ah, sweet double phoenix punch. Hey, you know this one?" He commented before he spin kicked all of them away.

Leo clashed one of his swords with a ninja who also had a sword. He spun, causing the ninja to fall forward slightly and Leo then elbowed his back, knocking him down. He then back flipped onto a platform above him and saw a ninja jump onto the platform and then run on the wall with a sword in his hand.

He ran all the way to Leo, who blocked a strike from the ninja, who then landed on the platform, skidding to a halt.

Leo crossed his swords as another ninja landed behind him. They both swung to hit the turtle at the same time but he blocked them and they struck a few more times until they decided to lean their weight against their swords, which made Leo grit his teeth and groan as he used all his strength to push back.

Morgan found himself being surrounded by four ninjas, who all swung their weapons at him, ranging from ninjatōs, kamas, tonfas and even nunchucks. Because of this, he blocked their attacks non stop with his sword while striking them with his tanto, cutting their legs and arms and he did this until they were all fatigued, which gave Morgan an opening to attack them all with both of his weapons, even slicing the blade of one of their swords as he took them all down.

Mikey was facing off against a ninja who had a tonfa and whenever he'd swing his weapons, the ninja would block with the tonfa and then a second jumped in with a tonfa as well and they were both giving him a challenge all at once.

Donnie meanwhile faced off against the two ninjas again and they both threw shurikens at him, which were blocked with his bo staff. A bit shaken up, he watched as one jumped and kicked him in the chest, launching him into the side of the truck.

Mikey, too, was launched into the side of the truck, right next to Donnie.

"Don? Are we beating them, or are they beating us?" He asked him as he placed his nunchucks in his belt.

Donnie didn't answer however because he was freaked out, making him open the driver side door to the truck, jump in and pull Mikey in before shutting the door, which caught a whole barrage of shurikens.

"Ask me again when we're winning, Mikey." He told the orange clad turtle as he opened the door.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." He replied, slightly shook as his left hand was right next to a shuriken.

Back down in the drainage junction, Jessica and Splinter took down two of the robots and another two were about to pounce on them.

They kept calm as they pounced but sliced and smashed them apart.

A third then jumped in, roaring but Splinter took care of it with his walking stick.

"*sighs* Now we can just wait for our sons." Jessica said in relief.

However, the ground beneath them cracked until it fell apart into a hole, making the two fall and scream as they were falling down what seemed to be a tunnel until they crashed on the tunnel wall and slid down until they reached another tunnel.

"Me and my big mouth." Jessica mutters in annoyance as she and Splinter wipe dust off their kimonos. She then placed her katana in her scabbard before they walked down the tunnel before they reached a large hexagonal door frame leading into a room that had a bright light, leaving the pair in awe.

Back in the alleyway, Leo still struggled against the two ninjas as three more joined in, trying to overwhelm him.

But none of them noticed Morgan charging at them and then slid, slicing some of their legs, making them focus more on their injuries, giving Leo the opportunity to punch and kick two away and then both he and Morgan punched the remaining three off the platform.

"Thanks." Leo thanked his boyfriend.

"No problem." He shrugged before they jumped onto the truck and then with Mikey. Raph then joined up with them as they faced the remaining ninja still up.

"How many of these goons do we have to bap before they get a hint?" He asked his brothers and Morgan, breathing heavily, feeling slightly exhausted.

"Really? They just keep coming." Mikey moped.

"It's like they're trained to not give up, no matter what." Morgan pointed out.

"Time to switch to Plan B. Donatello?" Leo said, Donnie was in the truck, looking to hot wire it.

"Almost there, Leo." He replied as he grabbed two of the wires, emitting some sparks and kickstarting the engine.

"This bus is now leaving anywhere but here!" He told his brothers and Morgan as more ninja jumped in, surrounding them.

"Come on, we're going." Leo told Raph and they all put their weapons away before they all jumped in the back of the truck as Donnie started driving, a bit out of control though because he never drove a vehicle before. The various ninjas all jumped out of the way and watched as the truck drove off.

"Whoa. Nice driving, Don. For a turtle with no licence." Mikey sarcastically told his brother as he and the others all were shaken up from Donnie's driving and from going over bumps. Mikey himself even being thrown off the seat he was on.

"Hey, you want pretty, or you want effective?" Donnie asked back.

"Effective without making us car sick, please." Morgan replied back, holding onto Leo.

"I gotta tell ya, this has been one mondo bizarro day. First, all those metal robot things underground. And what's with all those ninjas? Ninjas in New York City, besides us? It's just not right." Mikey summed up their whole day and expressed confusion about those ninjas they faced.

"Yeah, that just doesn't add up." Morgan agreed that those ninjas are an oddity.

Donnie made a sharp left turn which caused Mikey to be thrown off the seat again.

"Talk about not right. Check this out." Raph said as he opened a duffle bag and dumped out a whole lot of cash out of it, shocking both Leo and Morgan and bringing a big dumb grin on Mikey's face, who grabbed two lots of it in his hands.

"Show me the money, baby. Whoo-hoo!" He cheered, but Leo stepped up to him and grabbed a lot of money in his left hand.

"This isn't finders keepers, Mikey." He sternly told him off, pulling the money out of his hand.

"Yeah, you'd be no better than those Purple Dragons." Morgan sided with him.

Parked on one of the streets is a police car, out on patrol with two police officers in it, one older, drinking coffee and the other is younger, being a rookie. They saw the truck heading down the street and watched as it parked next to them.

"Take care of this money, will you guys?" Leo requested from them as he threw the bags of money onto the hood of the police car.

"It was stolen by some Purple Dragons!" Morgan's voice told them before they continued elsewhere.

"Did you see that? Some little green men and a civilian in an armoured car just threw a bunch of money at us!" The rookie police officer exclaimed, a bit shaken up.

"Tsk, rookies…" The older officer shrugged off, not really believing him.

Donnie drove the truck to a gate that led directly to the sewers, which he crashed through and kept driving until they reached the drainage junction where they saw both Splinter and Jessica meditating.

Once he parked, they all got out and ran towards them, so glad to see that they're alright as they themselves got up on their feet.

All five cheered and embraced the two, Morgan and Leo hugging Jessica for good measure.

"We're both glad to see you boys as well." She greeted them all.

"Master Splinter, so much has happened today." Leo said to his sensei.

"Yes, yes. There will be time to tell us all about it later, Leonardo. But first, let me and Jessica take you all home." Splinter replied before he and Jessica walked over to the large hole, confusing the turtles and Morgan.

"Home?" Mikey repeated in confusion.

"We got no home. Those robots trashed our pad, remember, Sensei?" Raph reminded him as he knelt down and tapped the head of one of the robots.

"Don't worry, Raphael. Me and Splinter have found the perfect place for our new home. Just follow us." Jessica assured him with a smile before she and Splinter jumped into the hole, leaving the five more confused.

Leo then flipped into the hole, followed by Morgan, and then Donnie, who just dived in.

"Cowabu- AHH! Not funny, Raph!" Mikey was pushed into the hole before he could use his old catchphrase.

"Oh, yes it is." Raph chuckled before he jumped in.

All five screamed as they all slid their way down into the tunnel that Splinter and Jessica were waiting for them. All of them ended up piling into one another.

"Wicked slide." Mikey complimented as he and the others all got up and followed Splinter and Jessica.

"No offence, you two, but this place doesn't seem so great." He then said to them as he ran up to them.

"Look with your heart, Michelangelo, and not your eyes." Splinter advised him, causing the turtle to stop walking as his brothers and Morgan joined up with them.

"Um… okay." He said.

"And walk this way." Splinter then said as he and Jessica continued on. Mikey, being the cheeky turtle he was, decided to tip toe, but this made Donnie hit him in the head with his bo staff.

The five walked through the hexagonal shaped doorway and were in awe of what Splinter and Jessica found.

It was a large room that had two levels to it. The centre of this chamber looked like it would house a body of water and there were columns and rooms throughout. It may seem trashed and wrecked but they all didn't care as this place was just pitch perfect for their new home.

"This is beyond awesome." Mikey noted.

"How no one found this place before is beyond me." Morgan said, already loving the place.

"I could really tune this space up." Donnie pointed out as they all looked around the place, Mikey climbing up a column to the higher level and stopped by a room with interest.

"This room here, mine." He called dibs, pointing at the room.

"And where you're standing, also mine." He then called dibs on another room, much to Donnie's annoyance.

"You see, our sons? Change is good." Splinter told them all as Leo and Morgan stood by him and Jessica, holding hands.

"We couldn't agree more." "Leo nodded as everyone else gathered back up.

"Good. Now it's time for you boys to clean up for once, this place is all kinds of messy." Jessica told them all, much to her amusement since all of them groaned at the idea of cleaning the place up.

In a chamber of one of the tall skyscrapers of New York, a Japanese man with slick and pulled back black hair, wearing a white and grey kimono that had the red foot symbol on the chest, was pouring tea into a cup and then he took a sip with a scowl on his face as he wasn't happy.

He was staring down at who was the leader of the Purple Dragons, who was on his knees.

"S-sir? I-I, uh…. My men…. We-uh, we-we lost the armoured car with the money, but we were attacked by some sort of karate frog creatures or something with a kid." He stuttered, causing the man to narrow his eyes at him.

"They took us by surprise, i-it wasn't my fault." The leader tried to explain.

"Enough!" The man snarled.

"I promise, sir. I won't fail you again." The leader promised.

"I know. You won't fail me again. Ever." The man replied, standing up, causing the leader to grow fearful as he knew what was coming.

"No, sir. Please!" He begged, kneeling before him before the doors to the chamber closed.

The leader then screamed in terror before the man laughed with pure evil, echoing across the skyscraper, which had the same foot symbol on it.

Pretty much, this story is retelling the 2003 series but with a few changes based from the Rise of the TMNT series. Mainly the incarnations of April and Casey, as well as the weapons the Turtles get from the forge in the Ninja Tribunal arc.

And for an idea for who voices Morgan and Jessica, I had Simu Liu and Carrie Ann-Moss. I'm aware that Simu Liu is Chinese but I like his voice and felt it would contrast well against Leo's voice. And for April and Casey when they arrive, they'll have their voices from Rise.

And to get an idea of the characters ages, Leo and Morgan are 23, Raph is 22, Donnie is 21, Mikey is 20, both April and Casey are 22 and Jessica is 45.
