Luck and Love
Chapter 1: Prologue
It was a beautiful day in the town known as Amity Park, a little over a month after Valentine's day.
The sun is shining and the weather is nice as people were getting ready for the day.
However, our story does not begin there
No, it begins in a dark, ghastly dimension that was home to billions of ghosts, ghouls and beasts of all kinds.
The Ghost Zone.
In a certain part of this ghastly dimension of ghosts and ghouls, was a certain realm where a certain ghoul was now residing.
It was Katrina Phillips, otherwise known as Kitty, the ex-girlfriend of notorious ghost biker, Johnny 13. Ever since last Valentine's day, she had dumped him for good once she finally accepted that he wasn't going to change and that he was an obnoxious, womanizing creep who didn't deserve her.
She also moved out of the realm that they once shared together and hasn't been back there since.
After she dumped Johnny, she bunked with her best friend Ember until about a week ago, when she finally managed to find a decent realm to call home...one that her ex has no clue where is located.
Unlike the old realm that belonged to Johnny, which was half a small apartment/garage for his lousy bike, this realm resembled more of a loft...one that she decorated herself in the same way Johnny never let her decorate their old place due to finding her taste "too girly".
Yet another issue she no longer has to deal with, now that she dumped him.
Anyway, due to her being careful, Johnny, who didn't take being dumped well and often tried to get back together with her, has no clue where her new realm is and Kitty tried her best to ignore him and avoid him whenever he shows up to beg her to take him back.
The only ones who knew the location of this place are Ember...and another friend whom she made a while back.
Danny Phantom.
The same guy who was once her enemy but has become her friend and unknown to others, had been the one to give her the strength to finally dump that low life for good, after they had that unofficial date between them and spent Valentine's day together.
An evening that ended with her bestowing a kiss on him...one that she still thought about sometimes.
"I wonder what Danny is doing right now..."Kitty thought with interest as she looked around.
She spotted her cell phone and quickly dialed a certain number, one that was special to her.
After a few moments, a certain special guy answered on the other line.
"Hello..."Was heard.
Kitty smiled.
"Hey, Danny..."She said as they began talking on the phone together.
Later
The two ghosts spent the next 15 minutes talking on the phone about...pretty much everything.
"Get out? That really happened?..."Kitty asked.
"Yep, Skulker tried to ambush me while I was trying to take a nap, now his latest suit is trashed and he's on ice..."Danny said, recalling events that happened less than 30 minutes ago.
Kitty chuckled.
"Good, I never did like that guy. I still don't know what Ember sees in him..."Kitty said.
"I still can't believe that SHE is his girlfriend. You sure that she knows that he's a blob on the inside?..."Danny had to ask.
"Yes, Danny... She didn't at first, which lead to their first breakup but she is considering giving him another chance..."Kitty said. "I still don't get why though..."She said.
"I'll say. Even she can do better than that bonehead and that's coming from her enemy..."Danny said.
Kitty sighed.
"Yeah..."She said.
While she and Danny had become good friends since last Valentine's day, there were some things that they didn't let others know about yet...such as their friendship.
Danny didn't tell his parents or his older sister yet due to wanting to wait for the right time, since he didn't want to risk Kitty getting hurt if they became trigger happy...and Kitty didn't tell any of her ghostly friends due to her own reasons...such as they being unable to understand...and maybe to avoid a fight with a certain diva.
Such as her best friend, Ember, who secretly has a thing for Danny and who's real reason for dating Skulker again was to make him jealous...not that she'd ever admit it but it was obvious.
"I'm just glad she hasn't found out yet..."Kitty thought as she still hasn't told best friend about what is going on with Danny.
Ember may be a tough as nail diva and a good friend...but there are some things Kitty didn't want to risk around her, especially with the kind of temper she has.
She at least wanted to wait for the right time to tell her...when she's in a mood to understand...and not react negatively...yeah, that might take a while.
She didn't want to think about that situation anymore, she just wanted to keep talking with Danny.
"So, anyway Danny...I was planning on going to the human world to see a movie...wanna come with?..."Kitty asked.
"Kitty, I'm okay with going as friends and making this a not-date but nothing else right now...I still think it's too soon for anything more than that..."Danny said.
Kitty sighed but nodded, even if he can't see it.
"I understand, i just wanna hang out...so can we?..."She asked.
"Sure, time and place?..."Danny asked.
"How about later tonight? I meet you at your portal around 6, you get your disguise and we decide what we'll watch when we make it to the theater..."Kitty suggested.
"Sounds good to me..."Danny said, making her smile.
The two ghost teens kept talking for a while, until Danny had to hang up.
"Gotta go, the Box Ghost just showed up for the thousandth time this week with another lame box theme attack..."Danny said.
"I HEARD THAT!..."A loud, obnoxious voice was heard.
Kitty rolled her eyes and could predict that Danny did the same.
"Okay, well...I'll see you later at the movies..."She said.
"Later..."Danny said before hanging up.
Once done, Kitty sighed. She felt content yet frustrated due to several things.
Such as the fact that she is going out with her new friend later but it's not a date, even if a part of her wanted it to be.
"He's not ready yet and I can't force him..."She reminded herself.
Danny made it clear that he didn't want to risk ending up in a rebound relationship and she did promise herself that she'd be careful and take things slow now that she was free from Johnny.
Still, a part of her has really come to like Danny since last Valentine's day, a lot and she came to like him more over these last few weeks where they hung out and got to know each other better in secret, due to wanting to avoid his parents, the tabloids and his ghost enemies who'd never understand.
She's happy that they are friends...still...
"He really is cute and nice...I'm sure after a while, he'll be ready to go from "not-date" to actual date..."She thought as she tried to be optimistic.
She then glanced at her clock and saw the time.
It was about 3 in the afternoon in the human world, she had less than 3 hours to get ready for her "not-date" with Danny later.
"Oh man, I better get ready..."She said as she went to shower and get ready, wanting to look nice.
Nice for her friend, whom she hopes that later on, may lead to something more.
