A/N: Hello and welcome to my story! It's a little bit inspired by Billie Eilish's everything i wanted. This is my first time writing GaaSaku so be gentle! Please R&R! The story does get a little serious, but I'm also going to be working on an AkaSaku crackfic.
Sakura woke up to the beeping of her alarm. Freeing an arm from her tangled mess of blankets she reached over and hit the clock until it stopped. It was 6:00am, time to get ready for school - It was the first day of Junior year. As she dragged herself out of bed she stopped at her mirror to look at her body. She had slept naked and inspected her curves wishing her waist was a little skinnier and her boobs were a little bigger.
Sitting at her vanity, She brushed her waist length bubblegum pink hair, which fell into soft natural waves. Applying her makeup she put in her airpods to listen to music. With a final coat of mascara her eyelashes framed her large jade eyes perfectly. Inspecting her makeup she frowned, her forehead was too big.

"Sakura!" her best friend Ino screamed as she walked into the school. She and Ino had been best frenemies since the 4th grade when Sakura moved to Konoha.
"Hey Ino! Looking good this morning!" Sakura replied as her blonde friend twirled and tossed her long blonde ponytail over her shoulder.
"Thanks! I'm hoping I can finally get Sai to notice me. This year is going to be my year." Sai was a boy that Ino had been crushing on for the last two years. He was a quiet dark haired artist in their grade.
"You've got this." Sakura cheered on her best friend. Ino was one of the prettiest girls in school, but the one boy she wanted never seemed to notice her. Sakura and Ino quickly dove into comparing their schedules and celebrating they had four out of eight classes together.
"Hey beautiful," a deep voice interrupted them. Sakura lifted her head to see her boyfriend, Sasuke Uchiha, approaching them.
"Hey Sasuke!" Sakura greeted, as she walked towards him and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. Sasuke was the heartthrob of their grade with his fair skin, dark eyes and matching dark hair he carefully spiked every morning. His body was lean but very well toned, he was a three season athlete with football, swimming and soccer. Every girl wanted him and Sakura was lucky to have him.
"Let me walk you to homeroom," Sasuke offered and Sakura gladly took his hand and started off with him.
"See you, Ino!" she called behind her as Ino waved.

At Konoha high you were assigned a homeroom you stayed in for all four years, this is where Sakura had met Sasuke, their teacher Kakashi-Sensei assigned them seats next to each other. As they walked into the room they were greeted by their friends and classmates.
"Hey Sakura chan! Hey Sasuke teme!" A loud voice called from the back of the room, Sasuke's best friend Naruto was waving rapidly at them. His hair skin was perfectly sun kissed and hair bleached blonde from the sun. "How were your Summers?"
"Busy," Sasuke replied stoically, " I was interning for my father's investing firm." Sasuke came from the richest family in Konoha, his father Fugaku Uchiha, was a big into investing and earned his family a fortune.
"I mostly just stayed home," Sakura stated.
"Well!" yelled Naruto, "I had the best Summer ever! I went all across the country on the hunt for the best ramen place ever! I must have tried 300 different restaurants. Tonkotsu ramen was my favorite style, but I really loved shoyo, and one place had this spicy stamina ramen and that was really, really great, too…." Naruto droned on and on about his ramen adventures and Sakura let out a little giggle. It was comforting being at school. No one could hurt her at school.
A few minutes later their teacher, Kakashi-sensei walked into the classroom.
"Yo - " he started to say but was interrupted by a collective gasp of his students.
"Kakashi! You're on time?!" Naruto yelled. It was a rare occurrence, as he was 5-10 minutes late every day of the last two years.
"Yes, why do you all think so lowly of me?" Kakashi asked, feigning hurt. "Of course I'm on time for the first day of class! I had to show our new student to his homeroom." At that Sakura finally looked up and noticed a tall, scrawny looking boy standing just behind Kakashi. "This is Gaara Sabaku."
Gaara had crimson red hair that was a ruffled mess around his head. At first glance Sakura thought he was wearing an obscene amount of eyeliner, but quickly realized they were dark circles from lack of sleep. They stood out starkly against his concerningly pale skin.
"Please introduce yourself to the class"
"I'm Gaara," he stated, his voice quiet and gravelly.
"Anything you like or dislike you want to share with the class?" Kakashi prompted.
"I like quiet and I dislike noise." He responded.
"Alrighty then, why don't you take a seat next to Sakura Haruno, Sakura please stand up, she is going to be your student ambassador."
Sakura stood and sighed, she applied to be a student ambassador her sophomore year to help build her college resume. The student ambassadors were paired with new students who shared the same schedule as them so they could show them around and answer any questions they had.
As Gaara came to sit next to her, she returned to her own seat, "I'm Sakura Haruno, it's a pleasure to meet you!" she said, extending her hand for a shake. He stared down at her hand blankly and after a few seconds she dropped it. "I'll show you around to your classes today and sit with you at lunch."
"Okay," Gaara murmured without looking up at her.
Sakura sighed again, 'this is going to be a tough,' she thought to herself as Kakashi began to explain the student code of conduct, when club rush was, and all the other first day information. As the bell rang Sakura turned to Sasuke.
"I'm going to show Gaara around, but I'll see you at lunch?" She asked and he nodded and leaned in for a quick kiss before walking out of the room. Sakura turned to Gaara with a big smile on her face. "Let's go!" She said and grabbed his arm.
"So you and I will have the same schedule," Sakura started still towing the boy behind her, "so you must be really smart to be taking AP Chemistry and AP Calc BC your junior year!" These classes were typically reserved for seniors but Sakura was studious and wanted to get into a good college far from home on a scholarship!
"Hn…" Gaara replied.
"Come on! You've got to say something!" Sakura kept pushing him to converse. "Or else you're going to get really tired of hearing my voice all day."
"You're…annoying…" Gaara finally replied and Sakura stopped, taken aback.
"Oh, well at least you said something" She replied smiling and pulled him into their chemistry room with Orochimaru as their teacher.

Class after class, Sakura dragged Gaara around and kept talking to him while he barely even grunted in response. In English she introduced him to Ino and Shikamaru, in History they sat with Hinata and in gym she jogged while he walked around the track. Finally it was lunch time.
Sakura brought Gaara into the cafeteria straight to the table where her friends were sitting. Sakura sat down between Ino and Sasuke and gestured for Gaara to sit across from her.
"Hey everyone! This is Gaara! He moved here from Suna and I'm his student ambassador!" She exclaimed, introducing him to the crowd of her friends and they all greeted him and tried to make conversation, but he just sat in silent. "He's definitely more on the shy side, but I am determined to break him!" She followed up to fill the silence and offered Gaara a kind smile.
He just opened his backpack and pulled out his lunch to eat. While everyone talked around him Gaara glanced up occasionally at the bubbly pinkette across from him. Sasuke had his arm around her and she was talking animatedly to everyone around her. It seemed no one else at the table noticed that in the entire period, she had only eaten a small apple.

Sakura continued to show Gaara from class to class, making conversation in the hallways. Gaara was frustrated at her endless enthusiasm and how she seemed to be everyone's best friend. There wasn't a single person in the hallway that didn't stop to chat with her.
At the end of the day, Sakura walked Gaara to the front doors of the school.
"And remember, club rush is this Friday and Sport tryouts start next week!" Sakura was saying to the quiet, crimson haired boy. "You've made it through your first day! I have to go meet Sasuke, he's taking me home today, but here-" she said as she shoved a piece of paper into his hands, "text me if you have any questions on your homework and I'll see you tomorrow!"
Sakura turned and ran off in the other direction leaving Gaara standing there with a crumpled piece of paper in his hands. He walked out of the building and held his hand up to block the bright sun.

Sakura quickly found Sasuke and together they walked to his car. She sat in the passenger seat exhausted from the day.
"I don't like you spending so much time with him." Sasuke said sternly, breaking the silence.
"It's not like I have a choice, I was assigned as his student ambassador." Sakura replied looking up at Sasuke and seeing the frown on his face. "I don't think he likes me much anyway, he said I was annoying."
Sasuke grunted, grabbing her hand a little tighter than she preferred. "Student ambassador or not, I don't like him and I don't like you spending time with him. You belong with me." Sasuke was very direct. Sakura belonged to him and no one else.
Sakura looked down quickly, but then turned to Sasuke with a big smile on her face. "Don't worry, I'm yours." she said quietly as Sasuke squeezed her hand so tight she wondered if he might break it.
"Good."
Sasuke dropped Sakura off and gave her a long kiss goodbye, forcing his tongue into her mouth. He moaned in pleasure as she let him kiss her and put his hand up her shirt. When he was done, Sakura got out of the car and let herself into her home.
The living room was a mess and there were beer bottles everywhere. She went up to her room, the only clean space in the house and began on her homework. She knew she had to get it done quickly, so she could make dinner for her father. Ever since her mom passed away during her freshman year, her dad had become a different person. He drank too much, stopped taking care of the house and started to abuse Sakura. She never told a soul about how her home life had changed, afraid it would make her dad even angrier.
After doing her last limit problem for calculus, she closed her books and went down stairs and began cooking chicken parmesan, a dish her mother used to make often.
"Sakura! I'm home…" Hizashi Haruno slurred walking into the kitchen. "What are you making?" He demanded as he saw the chicken parmesan she was currently plating.
"Chicken Parmesan," she replied quietly, not looking up.
"You know you are to look at your elders when they speak to you!" He yelled and slapped her across the face. She flinched at the strike and looked up at her dad.
"I'm sorry father," she replied, holding his gaze. He raised his hand up and struck her again, so hard that she fell onto the floor.
"Get your fat ass out of my sight!" He screamed and she quickly got up and ran up the stairs.

Assessing her face in her mirror, Sakura did not cry. There was a small bruise forming, but it was nothing that makeup couldn't cover. 'He's right, I am a fat ass,' she thought to herself looking down at her body.
Sakura laid in bed and wrote in her journal:
8/23/2021:
1 apple ~ 95 calories.
As she was writing, her phone buzzed, Ino wanted to go shopping this weekend. Sakura replied, grateful for the opportunity to get out of the house.
She closed her eyes and her dreams were haunted by her father's fists.
