One sentence description:

If you're curious as to whomst I'm picturing as each character, please refer to the 'cover pic' of their story. I'm shit at giving vivid physical descriptions -but I swear I'm trying to get better, I really am- so the cover photo being the OC in question (and maybe their pairing partner if I can figure out the finer points of graphic design just enough to slap a cover together) is what made most sense for me to do.

Ages & Backstory may have been toyed with here to make things fit and flow as cohesively as humanly possible. Sorry up front if this bothers anyone.

History

Olivia Jeanette Locke was born Olivia Jeanette Clay on July 5th in Benson Hurst, NY to parents Stephen Clay (Caleb Morley) and Livvie Locke. Livvie died while giving birth to Olivia and the task of naming their newborn daughter fell to Stephen. Stephen chose to name his daughter after her mother, the one true love of his life. The first years of Olivia's life were tough on father and daughter due to a combination of grief / undiagnosed mental illnesses and the pressure to follow up his gold album with another one from his record label. When you add to it that the loss of Livvie forced Stephen to step back and really take stock of some of the shit he put Livvie through always promising to be a better man and a better husband, it's a wonder the man held it together even a little bit but somehow, he managed. He finally started to work through all that profound grief around the time Olivia turned 3. Unfortunately, this is around the same time that his undiagnosed multiple personality disorder really started to worsen and he began to embrace the darker of his personalities, Caleb Morley, because it was the one most dominant while he was with Livvie and subconsciously, being Caleb made his grief just a little easier to bear. He even went as far with the whole thing as to legally change both his name and his daughter's names to Caleb Morley and Olivia Morley and for years, it remained this way.

At some point during all of this, Caleb/Stephen was reunited with an old girlfriend, Alison. The two had a whirlwind romance and everything became too much and too scary for Alison, so she left Caleb/Stephen and Olivia, though she did fight as hard as she could to get custody of Olivia. During the brief relationship, Alison became the only 'mother figure' Olivia would ever know. And unbeknownst to Olivia, Alison left the relationship with her father carrying his second child, a son that she'd go on to name Rafe, after her first love. After Alison left, Caleb/Stephen seemed to shut down. He turned cold to everyone aside from Olivia. In a desperate attempt to 'protect' his young daughter from a harsh and cold world, he kept her locked away in the family mansion. Instead of attending a private school or a public school, Caleb/Stephen hired a string of private tutors and teachers to come into the home and teach Olivia. This had it's advantages and disadvantages, in that she wasn't getting the socialization a young child so desperately needs but.. She was getting a very good education personally tailored to her specific needs and being a quick learner, she was able to advance beyond what her peers were doing and what she'd have been doing with them if she were placed in an actual school setting. Being so young, Olivia was alright with this arrangement because at this point in time, she absolutely adored her father as most little girls tend to. They were each other's best friend.

But time marched on and Olivia got older. She got restless around her preteen years and she begged frequently for any semblance of "normal" like the shows she watched on TV at the time. Caleb/Stephen held firm and refused to let her do any of the things she wanted, citing how dangerous it could be for her if she were to. But Olivia was her mother's daughter, stubborn as the day is long and she kept at it until she finally wore him down. When she turned 15, Stephen/Caleb had to go out on tour because the label told him it was either that or be in breach of contract. Begrudgingly, he did so, taking Olivia with him. Olivia finally got her first glimpse of "the outside" and she actually made friends while they were out on tour despite Caleb/Stephen being vigilant about her always being close.

The pair returned home the next year and Olivia tried again to gently broach the subject of maybe going to school only to have it shot down. Stephen/Caleb hired another slew of tutors and teachers to come to the mansion and teach her privately. Olivia was starting to see the cracks in her father's facade / attempt at playing sane and during one particular bad episode, he was in a car crash that nearly cost him the life of his daughter. This is what served as a catalyst to finally go somewhere and have himself seen by a specialist. The diagnosis came back and it was official. Caleb/Stephen was now the worst threat to his daughter's life. This realization is what led to him choosing to stay out on the road longer, leaving Olivia to her own devices at home. Being a reasonably good kid, he felt like he could safely do so and it wasn't as if anyone actually 'knew' about her beyond the bare minimum he volunteered in various interviews over the span of his career.

But every kid has their limit and Olivia was fast reaching hers with her father's rules and the oppressive and prison-like feeling she got when she was at home. Naturally, this leads to a little teenage rebellion in the form of Olivia starting to sneak out. It was during one of these little illicit trips down into town that she wandered into a house party in progress and had her first meeting with Dante Falconeri. From the word go, there was this magnetic connection between the two. They talked for hours and hours that night and as Dante dropped her off at the gate leading up to her father's mansion, he gave her her first ever kiss. The two never saw each other again, but the memory was one that stuck with Olivia for years after the fact.

Stephen/Caleb's multiple personality disorder reached it's breaking point and while out on one of his tours, he had a complete and total mental breakdown that somehow resulted in the death of his drummer. He was brought back to New York and evaluated to see if he was fit to stand trial. When it was established that he wasn't, he was shuffled into an asylum. Olivia became an emancipated minor at 17 thanks to this because she couldn't find her father's twin brother and even if she had been able to, she doubted the man would've taken her in because her father and his brother hated each other and never spoke for some unknown reason. She'd never actually even met the man herself, truth be told. Anyway, Olivia finally realizes that she has the freedom to do the things she always longed to do but her father wouldn't allow. The first thing she does is enroll herself in school. She's given a placement test and she's placed in the senior class at Port Charles High. It's here that she befriends Georgie Jones and Damian Spinelli, but she remains distant and aloof, not really volunteering much about herself unless she absolutely has to. At some point during the school year, it's revealed that her father is Stephen Clay/Caleb Morley and she has to endure the clout chasing / scrutiny that comes with that. It's also how she learns about some of the really bad things her father had apparently done. The knowledge that the man she loved and depended on, looked up to was the way he was put her world off kilter. She confronted her father and he didn't bother denying any of it. She left the facility he was being kept in totally disgusted and hurting worse than she could even begin to express.

This leads to a few behavioral problems, but once she's gotten her 'rebellious stage' out of her system, she buckles down and starts to work on cutting all ties with that particular part of herself. She has her last name changed to Locke, which was her mother's maiden name. She enrolls in PCU after taking a year to travel and just sort of try to find herself. She reconnects with Georgie and Spinelli and aside from them, she doesn't really bother trying to make other friends because she's just never been really great at it.

After Georgie's death at the hands of Diego's twin brother Cruz, Olivia decides there's nothing tying her to the town anymore, so she packs herself up and starts to travel again, sporadically settling here and there. The town she stays the longest in is Salem because she felt a connection to the area. The trustee over her father's estate is trying to track her down through all of this to inform her of her father's death via suicide (it wasn't, he was murdered by another inmate at the asylum who believed that he was an actual vampire and he needed to be killed but it was never proven because nobody really gave a shit one way or another, sadly) and to tell her that she's been left a sizable sum of money, her childhood home, several stocks / bonds all valued at high amounts as well as all of his memorabilia, a sports car or two and his beloved guitar collection and a ring that was found on him when the guards were alerted to his death and found his body. The trustee finally catches up to Olivia and explains everything and Olivia is torn between grief because her father is gone and relief, because her father is gone. And on top of it all, she's faced with an entirely new problem. She knows that his mental illness is genetic and she knows that she could very well develop it. All of these things combine in her and she just kind of goes numb and shuts down.

She returns to Port Charles to deal with the legalities and such and this time around, she winds up staying in town. She bonds with Maxie Jones over their mutual loss of Georgie and the two become friends. Maxie is the one who convinces her to stick around. Olivia takes a job teaching at the elementary school and she just kind of settles into a routine. When Maxie confesses that she never should have let Spinelli leave without her, Olivia implores her to go to him, to take that big risk. Maxie turns this back on her and insists that she at least attempt to find the boy she talked about now and then but Olivia kind of scoffs and explains exactly why she can't and why it's not a good idea.

Maxie leaves town and Olivia goes back to doing her own thing, teaching and writing songs and novels that she'll never let anyone read. She starts to attend therapy to unpack all the baggage her childhood left with her. She also takes the leap and goes to get herself checked out.

She's given the all clear and told what to look out for in the future just to be safe and one would think that she'd start to loosen up and relax a little, but she just can't let go of the fear that one day she might snap like her father did. No amount of therapy seems to help, either. Eventually, she stops going, citing therapy as a lost cause. By now, it's 2022 and a lot has happened. Rafe Kovich Jr decides to try tracking down his biological father while he's in town for Molly and TJ's wedding and this leads him to a reunion with an older half sister he never realized that he had.

Olivia and Rafe begin to bond.

Olivia moves into a studio apartment across the hall from Dante Falconeri as the lease has run out on her 2 bedroom apartment and she's not keen on staying somewhere she can't at least have one cat. It's been years since they've seen each other, but seeing him again brings the night they met back and the feelings / connections made return with a vengeance on her end. But the fear of what her future might hold and just an overall lack of experience keep her from reaching out when she recognizes him. She just pretends that she doesn't remember him because she realizes just how crazy she'd sound if she brought up the night out of the blue. So this is something she kind of sits on for the first few chapters of her story..
