One sentence description:
If you're curious as to whomst I'm picturing as each character, please refer to the 'cover pic' of their story. I'm shit at giving vivid physical descriptions -but I swear I'm trying to get better, I really am- so the cover photo being the OC in question (and maybe their pairing partner if I can figure out the finer points of graphic design just enough to slap a cover together) is what made most sense for me to do.
Ages & Backstory may have been toyed with here to make things fit and flow as cohesively as humanly possible. Sorry up front if this bothers anyone.
General
Full Name: Rosalie Hazelynn Morris (Baldwin)
Reason for name: Rosalie is her mother's first name and her mother was nothing if not vain as hell, so naturally, she named her daughter after her. Hazelynn just seemed to fit and seemed 'unique'.
Nickname: Strangers / fans and people she's just met call her Rosalie. Family, close friends and lovers call her Haze.
Reason for nickname: Franco starts calling Hazelynn by the nickname Haze because he honestly prefers her middle name to her first one ( because his relationship with Rosalie was toxic af and he knows that Rosalie hates being named after her mother). The nickname catches on with Roxanne, her longtime best friend (and half sister, via Franco).

History
Rosalie Hazelynn Morris was born on Halloween night in Paris, France to single mother and b list French celebrity Rosalie Fawn. From the start, Rosalie looked at her young daughter as an extension of herself or a trophy to show off. Very little effort went into the actual raising of Rosalie on her mother's part in the earlier years, it was mostly thanks to a string of nannies and household servants that the infant made it to see childhood.
When Rosalie was around 4, her mother began to have slightly more to do with her. When she learned that she could take Rosalie out on 'errands' or on set with her and men just ate it up, Fawn began to do so without hesitation. Something of a con-woman with clearly defined narcissist tendencies and a notorious perfectionist, Fawn often set super high standards for her young daughter and berated her / ignored her if she failed or didn't do well at something. Fawn had every expectation that she was raising the next Drew Barrymore and despite young Rosalie's disinterest in becoming a star at first, Fawn was dragging her to audition and casting call after casting call when Rosalie turned 6 and Fawn realized that Rosalie possessed a certain charisma that just seemed to naturally draw people close. Door after door was slammed in Rosalie's face solely because of Fawn being a super demanding stage mom type and when Rosalie suggested maybe she could stop trying, Fawn wouldn't hear of it. Instead, she packed up the both of them and made the move to Malibu, taking up residence in the home she owned there. Rosalie was always the outdoorsy type, she loved going down to the beach and playing for hours and she loved to be dirty. Fawn detested this and did everything she could to groom these traits out of her daughter and for a short time, it worked.
Rosalie's teenage years came and along with them, Rosalie's sass and stubborn nature seemed to begin to bloom. She kept to herself socially, because of her mother's social status and the fact that her mother was decently known throughout the world for modeling and acting guaranteed that the teen couldn't leave the house without it winding up on some tabloid or splashed across the front of some gossip blog. Rosalie found peace spending long days at the beach, lounging around or surfing, which she took up solely to spite her mother, Fawn. It's around this time that Rosalie really started to question who her father was because her mother began receiving letters from a man known only as Franco and her mother claimed that Franco was merely an old lover. What Rosalie didn't realize was that Franco was catching onto the fact that Fawn had left him pregnant and taken great pains to hide her daughter just to keep him away out of spite because he'd chosen Ava Jerome, her rival, over her. On a lark, Rosalie took one of the letters and wrote the man back, explaining what she knew and what she suspected.
Unfortunately, her mother found the letter and destroyed it. And when tears and begging didn't work, Fawn decided to give her daughter a harsh dose of the truth and she forced her to sit through a news report covering the grisly murders taking place in Port Charles, New York. She told Rosalie that Franco was a suspect and that alone was more than enough reason for him never to know the truth about Rosalie being his daughter. This left a teenage Rosalie shell-shocked, and in disgust and fear, she refused to watch or read anything further about the murders. And for a while, she thought maybe just this once, her mother only had her best interests at heart. Maybe somewhere deep down, the narcissistic former actress did actually love her. The thoughts led Rosalie to stop fighting her mother tooth and nail over every small thing and she became somewhat compliant. She started trying again with the open casting calls and the auditions and this time, she realized that maybe it was fun to get behind a camera and pretend to be another person, even if it was only for a little while.
When Rosalie got scouted by an agent who wouldn't even look twice at Fawn when she'd attempted to audition, Fawn's jealousy surfaced and mother did whatever she could to sabotage her daughter's chances for success, all while telling her daughter "dear, it simply must not be meant for you." or "it's just not the right time for you just yet.". When Rosalie realized what her mother was doing, she felt anger. Anger that she went above and beyond to express whenever possible. Anything she could do to rebel, she did it happily, starting with Rosalie marching right into the agent's office and locking herself into a pretty impressive contract. Rosalie's career took off as Fawn's career was starting to dwindle. Mother and daughter clashed almost violently at times and after one particularly bad fight, Rosalie packed up the few possessions she gave a shit about and left town, destination unknown. She cut all ties to her mother and worked on her career, finishing her school years that remained and then she enrolled herself in college. She'd always wanted to help people in some capacity, so she attempted to become a nurse. It was around this time she was cast as the second lead role in an independent horror movie and this is where she met Roxanne Jerome.
The two clicked and grew as close as sisters, (again, gee, I wonder why, hmm..) and became known as a power duo (friends) among social media and the tabloids. Roxanne was the one who encouraged Rosalie to never forget that she did want to become a nurse and to keep trying with that. It's been in the back of Rosalie's mind for a while now, truth be told.
Rosalie hasn't seen or spoken to her mother in years at this point, but somehow, her mother found where she was staying at while filming the third part of the horror series and she reached out to let Rosalie know that she was dying and she'd had time to think, that she regretted the way she approached motherhood. Rosalie was conflicted, but deep down she knew her mother wouldn't ever change. To prove this to herself, she returned to Malibu to take care of her mother for a month or two after filming of the horror movie wrapped. And true to form, Fawn's reaching out was merely a manipulation. A last ditch effort to live vicariously through a daughter she only wanted as a continuation of her own personal legacy. Upon this realization, Rosalie hired a team of private nurses and medical staff and after filling them in on her mother's health problems (a failing liver, cancer that was slowly killing her and dementia in it's early stages) she left. Rosalie's mother died a year later and Rosalie returned to Malibu for the reading of the will. This is where Rosalie received proof positive confirmation that her father was Franco. And given what she knew about the man, she had her reservations about attempting to form a bond with the man. Apparently, her mother had at least tried to make amends by having Franco invited to the reading of the will, so this is where Franco and Rosalie meet for the first time.
Things are tense between father and daughter because for the time being, Rosalie simply can't wrap her head around the terrible things her father had done and the price he'd paid for them. Rather than really try to form a solid bond, she explained her position on things and offered a compromise. They exchange contact information. If they decide to keep in touch, great. If they don't, no hard feelings.
Franco has the surgery to remove the tumor in his brain around two years later and his girlfriend at the time, Nina Reeves, finds out about Rosalie's existence and she reaches out on Franco's behalf. By now, Rosalie's been putting herself through extensive therapy to deal with her childhood at the hands of her mother and she's working through other things to better herself. She's still modeling and acting, though she admittedly enjoys acting a bit more than modeling, so when Nina reaches out, Rosalie's had a little time to sort of think about things and she's began to realize that while her father did horrible things, she does at least want to know him, even if only a little. Even if she can't ever fully let the man in because of the things he's done.
Rosalie makes the decision to fly to Port Charles so that she can be there when Franco comes out of surgery. And as she's sitting there talking to Nina about everything, Nina explains that Franco's tumor was most likely the reason he snapped and went on a killing spree. That part of it was because he wanted revenge on a man named Jason for whatever reason and that maybe, Franco had more than his own fair share of traumas that shaped him. This resonated with Rosalie and it confirmed her decision to stick around and do what she could to help her father through his recovery period. Franco comes out of surgery and Rosalie is the first to see him. She sits by his bedside until the hospital staff tells her she has to leave for the night.
While Franco is recovering, Rosalie gets herself a cabin at the lake and has it restored and modernized. In the back of her mind, she's starting to think of Port Charles as home. The fact that she and her father seem to bond so easily and it's as if they've never not been father and daughter only cements her decision to call Port Charles home. Franco's back on his feet and Rosalie gets booked to star in an independent film (a drama this time), and as she's leaving, she gives Franco the keys to the lake house. While she's out of town, they talk and text frequently, their father/daughter bond only growing stronger. By the time she's finished shooting the movie and it's in post production, she's decided that she's making the move to Port Charles. That it's finally beyond time to cut all ties to her late mother, Rosalie Fawn. She petitions to have her name changed legally, from Morris to Baldwin. To celebrate, Rosalie and Roxanne go out for margaritas and ribs. As they're dining, the topic turns to the fact that Roxanne's just recently been given reason to believe that she too might be Franco's daughter, via Ava Jerome. Roxanne is reluctant to take the DNA test to prove this, however, because like Rosalie, the two have always just clicked as father/daughter, and Roxanne doesn't want to find out that her father is some unknown stranger. The matter is dropped.
Presently, Rosalie lives in her lake house. She's currently starring in an independent film being produced by Dillon Quartermaine, a horror film that's also got Roxanne as a member of the cast. She's settled into life and she's finally learning who she really is. She's just doing whatever she wants to do and living her best life, really. Shortly in the beginning of the fic, Roxanne will decide that she finally wants to know the truth for herself and the truth about Roxanne and Rosalie sharing a father will be revealed.
