One sentence description:
If you're curious as to whomst I'm picturing as each character, please refer to the 'cover pic' of their story. I'm shit at giving vivid physical descriptions -but I swear I'm trying to get better, I really am- so the cover photo being the OC in question (and maybe their pairing partner if I can figure out the finer points of graphic design just enough to slap a cover together) is what made most sense for me to do.
Ages & Backstory may have been toyed with here to make things fit and flow as cohesively as humanly possible. Sorry up front if this bothers anyone.

History
When Anthony sent Claudia away at the age of 16, he may or may not have given her just a little bit of room to breathe. Claudia hated that she had to leave her brother Johnny behind, but once she got to Italy, she really got a chance to thrive away from the invasive insanity that was her father, Anthony. Italy is where she meets Dominic Rossi, one of the right hand men in her uncle Rudy's employ. The two begin a deep and intense relationship that turns sexual when Claudia is 18. Unfortunately, Dominic was taken from her after her uncle Rudy discovered what she was getting up to behind his back. Rudy has a hit put out on Dominic and this is what makes Claudia decide that it's time to part ways with her uncle. She moves from Milan to Sicily and for a while, she loses touch with the family. Shortly after her move, she discovers she's pregnant with Francesca. She's far smarter than breathing a word to anyone in her family because she knows her father will only do something horrible to one or both of them. The risk of this happening is too much for Claudia to take, so she leaves Francesca at the doorstep of a local orphanage and leaves a long and detailed note with a necklace that belonged to her, stating that the necklace and letter are to be given to Francesca when she turns 16.
Francesca is taken in by the orphanage and this is where she'll remain, she's never adopted. She learns early on that the orphanage is a cold and harsh place and the two sisters who run it are cold and uncaring women, often bullying or treating the children in the house like live in cleaning staff. The slightest transgression gets a disproportionate and often borderline abusive punishment. Francesca observes all of this and quickly learns to adapt. To keep herself out of harms way for the most part until she's a bit older and she can fight back.
This time comes when she's fourteen. She witnesses the sisters bring a sweet little 4 year old to tears and something in her snaps. Francesca stands up to the sisters and it results in the women banishing her out to a shed like structure on the property. Her cleaning duties are tripled on top of it and Francesca takes it all on the chin. While sneaking back into the main house on one particular night to steal herself some leftovers, she happens to go rummaging through a drawer and she finds the letter meant for her when she turns 16. She takes the letter and the necklace inside and she files everything written in the letter away for a later time.
Francesca finds herself dreaming of an escape from the orphanage, but whenever potential parents come to meet her, she purposely puts them off of adopting her just to stay close to all the younger kids in the home. All the while, she's teaching a 12 year old everything she learned to get by relatively unscathed and preparing for her eventual escape.
Her escape comes at 15. She's out in town after school ends for the day and she's approached by a woman claiming to be a casting agent. Francesca takes the woman's business card and a week later, when she gets the chance to slip away and meet up with the woman, she signs a temporary contract with the woman's talent agency. Leaving the younger kids at the orphanage is hard for her, but she tells herself that most of them will be adopted fairly quick because she's shown them how to attract the attention of potential parents. She runs away in the middle of the night and now on her own, she's got one destination on her mind.
Claudia is awakened in the middle of the night and reunited with her beautiful teenage daughter. And Claudia decides that she can handle being a mother a lot better now, after all, she's got herself in a better financial position and she's gotten herself back inside the family organization. She figures that she can afford top of the line protection for her daughter. Mother and daughter begin to bond, Claudia is beyond horrified when she learns what Francesca lived through. With a call or two, the orphanage is closed down and the women running it are arrested on negligence charges. Reunited with her mother, Francesca can finally thrive and be a teenager and start discovering who she truly is at last. Mother and daughter have more of a sisterhood or friendship bond than a parental unit / child one and Claudia prefers it this way. Francesca is just so happy to be reunited with her mother again that she's a breeze to raise as a teenager. Claudia encourages her to pursue any and all dreams she has, and this leads Francesca into taking up ballet, which she's got the ideal build for and happens to be pretty good at because she used to dance alone in the attic at the orphanage when she could get away and practice. Francesca also takes a few small modeling jobs now and then and under her mother's watchful eye, the money made from the jobs is put away into a trust fund that Claudia's set up for her that she can't access until she's 21.
Claudia is summoned back to Port Charles and despite Francesca begging to come alone, Claudia insists that she'd be better off taking a spot in the exclusive boarding school she earned an invite to instead. She promises to keep in touch with Francesca and for a while, she does.
Francesca graduates from the boarding school with a full ride scholarship to a university and after taking a year off to really dip her toes into modeling and small acting bits that her manager finds for her as well as hone her dancing skills, Francesca takes herself to college and promptly starts to work towards earning herself a double major in marketing and fashion design, because she's always been fascinated with clothing and designing it, she made all of her own dance costumes and a lot of her own clothing as well as a stunning gown for a formal event her mother attended. She minors in dance because Dance is something she could see herself doing someday, after she's accomplished other things and settled down, she thinks maybe she could open a dance studio and teach little girls ballet / ballroom dancing.
The loss of her mother is tragic and it shocks her to her core. She arrives in Port Charles and is reunited with an uncle she only knew a little about and a grandfather that she's terrified of, but she sees the inner turmoil in her uncle and she's bonded with him quite well, so she just doesn't have the heart to abandon him to the insanity of his father. She settles into life in Port Charles and tries to work through the grief at losing her mother. She and Michael have a confrontation at one point and she tells him that she understands why things happened the way they did and she holds no ill will towards him. She admits that her mother had gone down a dark path before the end, telling him she could feel the shift in her mother's personality every time she'd call to talk. They become tentative friends and remain friends to this day.
As far as her life in Port Charles, Francesca continues to take modeling and acting jobs and on a whim, she submits her portfolio of designs to Kate Howard. Kate is impressed and hires her to work at Crimson with the condition that Francesca will get a degree in Journalism so everything is kept legal. Francesca enrolls in a journalism program that she can do online and eventually, she completes the program with her degree. She starts to work under Kate at Crimson while taking her own modeling gigs and acting gigs on the side. She gets a huge break when Kate mentions that her 'protege' happens to be an amateur model after food poisoning hits one of the models at a show during Fashion Week in New York. This is Francesca's big debut into real modeling.
It's also a huge payday. As she's always done, she puts the money into the fund her late mother started for her and basically forgets it exists.
The appearance at Fashion week gets her invited to quite a few more all over the globe and while she's not on the cover of a magazine, she is becoming quite well known.
Around 2013, Francesca returns to Italy for a while. She gets to live a life normally for a while and the time away from the limelight makes her realize that she actually doesn't enjoy having cameras shoved into her face every ten seconds like she was getting in Port Charles for a while.
She eventually returns to Port Charles sometime in the winter of 2019, and she takes up her old job at Crimson, with Nina offering her co-editor. Francesca gladly accepts the position because it gets her closer to her ultimate dream, starting her own clothing line.
If it's not obvious, family and her job are the most important things in Francesca's life. She gave up on having a romantic life because she learned quickly that she maybe didn't have the best judgment when it came to the men she chose to fall for.
