And the next chapter.
Only one more chapter to go after this one and this FF will be finished.

Thank you. At least one person who reads this.
And just ignore this user. He is a troll and I already reported him and his stupid comments to the staff of this site.
They just won't delete these crappy comments and I don't know why.
I am honest with you: Wouldn't there be only one chapter left, I would have stopped working on this story and probably deleting it.
It's not fun at all if I keep writing for a community that is too lazy to write comments and show me that they read my stuff.
And when you only have trolls commenting on your stories, this is anything but motivating, you know?
So thank you. You are the only one who is reading this.
And no matter what fandom I am writing for, it's ALWAYS the same over and over again!
I do all of this hard work and translate this sh*t and for what? For nothing.
I have no idea why I still keep doing that to be honest...
As always: I would appreciate feedback in the form of a comment very much.
Not only is feedback very motivating, but it also shows me that my story gets read and is not ignored.
If I get the feeling my story gets ignored, I won't update it, for I see no reason to do so then.
So please don't be shy and share your thoughts with me. I won't bite you. I am open for ideas, but
can't promise you to write them. I would only try to add them, if I like them and if they fit into the story.
Chapter 1
The day couldn't have been better for a horseback ride.
The sun was shining bright in the cloudless sky and it was pleasantly warm.
Link had hurried with breakfast and put on his clothes, which Malon had washed for him the day before, for which he was more than grateful. She'd even patched a few holes here and there that he hadn't even noticed before. Cruel memories of his journey through the kingdom…
They were just about to saddle the horses, when Talon came up to them; in his hands a basket full of food and the best Lon-Lon milk he had to offer.
"So you don't starve on the way," he told them with a wink, before disappearing back into the stable to help Ingo with his work.
By the time the horses were saddled and their riders ready to set off, Link's little fairy had decided to stay on the farm, earning her a raised eyebrow from the hero.
"I don't want to get in the way of you two lovebirds, after all," she told him and the boy could hear the wide grin in her voice and he blushed a little.
"We're just friends, Navi!" he replied with a grumble, but his companion then only giggled and with a "Of course you are..." she flew away and left the two alone.
"Don't let her tease you, Link," Malon said with a small grin, as she got on her dark bay stallion.
"That's easier said than done. You can't even imagine how difficult it can be to travel with this fairy. She uses every little opportunity to tease me. Even when we were in the temples she didn't stop," the boy grumbled, as he got on his own horse. He double-checked that everything was really secure, because he hadn't been able to attach Talon's small picnic basket to his saddle earlier without help, but he was pleased to find that everything would hold up well. Even when Epona was at a gallop.
"You absolutely have to tell me about this."
A low growl crept out of Link's throat and he took the reins in his hand.
"I don't want to talk about it..." he murmured, before clicking his tongue and gently digging his heels into Epona's flanks to get her to move.
Malon just laughed and followed him.
A warm, late summer breeze greeted the two friends, as they rode out onto Hyrule field and Malon's lips curled into a wide smile. It had been far too long since she had left the farm, let alone dared a ride through the field, but thanks to Link this was now possible again and with him at her side she felt safer than ever.
"I almost forgot how beautiful Hyrule is..." she said.
"Well, then it's time to change that," Link said with a grin on his lips, who rode next to her.
"Where do we want to ride?"
"Wherever you want, Malon."
She smiled even wider, thought for a moment and then her eyes started to sparkle, when she had chosen her destination.
"I haven't been to Lake Hylia in ages. How about we ride there?"
The young hero shuddered, just thinking back to Lake Hylia and the water temple that was at the bottom of the lake. He had experienced terrible things in this place, but Malon didn't know anything about it and it should stay that way. Also, he had broken the curse of the temple and everything was back to how it was before. That's what Sheik had explained to him when they met after the fight against the water demon Morpha on the small island that was directly above the temple. So there was no reason to worry and Link quickly composed himself and he also smiled broadly at the young woman at his side.
"Then let's ride to Lake Hylia," he said, as he was about to dig his heels into his horse's flanks and gallop away.
"Hey! Link, that's not fair! Wait for me!" the young farm girl shouted and she, too, urged her horse to a gallop and followed the Her of Time, who rode away, laughing and swept through Hyrule Field like a storm.
The two friends reached Lake Hylia in the late afternoon. Their horses were fast and the lake itself wasn't very far from the farm, so it was easy to get there quickly.
Malon only seemed a little confused when they found the entrance to the lake blocked and had to spur the horses to jump over the two obstacles.
"It's been like this for a long time, Malon. Don't worry. I'm sure these barriers will be gone soon. They were placed here for a good reason, because before I could break the curse of the water temple, the lake was teeming with monsters," Link explained to the young woman, as they both trotted with their horses side by side.
Link saw her shudder and he couldn't blame her for this reaction in the slightest, because he himself still shuddered when he thought back to the events here at the lake.
To all the monsters around the lake and especially to the demons from the water temple...
Lake Hylia was actually a place he didn't want to return to, but he didn't want to take away the joy from Malon she seemed to have in this place and besides, she didn't seem to have been there in years, so he didn't show how uncomfortable this whole place made him feel and followed her, as she urged her horse to gallop again, when in the distance they saw the glittering water of the lake, which seemed to be calling for them...
