Chapter 1: Adam + Tanya

I've decided for Valentine's Day to do one-shots of my favorite 10 power ranger couples. I will be posting them over the next 10 days.

Adam bowed to his class as the class was ending. "Good job today, everyone. I'll see you all for our next class." After his time as a power ranger was over, he opened up a dojo with Rocky. Although, he did morph a couple of times after he passed on the power. One time was to help the space rangers and the other was when the Sentinel Knight came to him and asked him to lead a team of rangers when the Operation Overdrive rangers lost their powers. Rocky actually was jealous that the Sentinel Knight chose Adam for that because he wanted to get back out there and morph, but he did get his wish recently when he helped out the Ninja Steel rangers.

Rocky went up to Adam after he was done. "Any plans for tonight?" he asked his best friend after the class left. It was Valentine's Day after all.

Adam shrugged. "Probably video chat with Tanya," he responded. "She's still on tour for another week."

"I still don't understand how you two make a long-distance relationship work so well."

"We've been doing it for so long already that I think we're just used to it at this point. It's probably harder on Sophie though."

"She's been handling it pretty well. You probably have a future power ranger on your hands."

"You know I don't want her to be a power ranger. She doesn't need to get involved in that."

"But you also know that you might not get a choice about that."

"Knock knock," a voice said as she entered.

"Tanya!" Adam said as he ran over to his wife and hugged her. "What are you doing here? I thought that I wasn't going to be able to see you for another week."

"My next show isn't for a couple of days, so I wanted to surprise you. I wouldn't miss Valentine's Day."

Rocky smiled at how happy Adam looked that Tanya was there. "Why don't you two go out for tonight?" Rocky suggested. "I'll watch Sophie."

"Are you sure?" Adam asked.

"Yeah. She loves spending time with Uncle Rocky."

"Just let me go shower and change really quick and we can get going." Adam gave Tanya a quick kiss on the cheek and went to the back.

"Where is my little angel?" Tanya asked Rocky.

"She's at your guys' house being watched by Alpha," Rocky replied.

"Thanks for helping out so much with her."

"It's no problem. She's a good kid. She misses you whenever you're on tour."

Tanya nodded and frowned. "I know."

"You know Adam might not tell you himself, but I know that he wishes you were around more. He supports you with your music career, but he wishes you could be there more for both him and your daughter."

"Are you trying to make me feel worse than I already do about it?"

"I'm just telling you something that I know Adam would never tell you. It's been hard for him to act like a single dad all the time."

Adam came back out. "You ready to go?" he asked his wife.

"Yeah," she said. "Let's go."

Rocky watched the two leave and hoped that his words to Tanya would sink in. He hated seeing how much Tanya being on tour affects Adam and Sophie and he hoped that maybe she would stay this time.

Adam and Tanya went out to have a nice dinner to start out their date night. It had been forever since the two were able to have a date night or even be alone together in general. Adam took Tanya to a new Italian restaurant that had just opened up in Angel Grove recently. He had already taken Sophie to it a couple of times since it opened, and he thought that Tanya would enjoy it, which she did. After that, they went to the movies. A movie studio had started to create movies based on the power rangers, but since they don't know the actual story of the power rangers or the actual identity of the original power rangers, the writers made up their own backstory for the power rangers and how they get their powers. They decided to see the newest power ranger movie that was made.

"These movies are so not believable," Tanya said.

"I just like watching it for how ridiculous it always is," Adam commented.

"That is true. Who would believe that a rock with morphers inside would just crash land on Earth and five teenagers were just randomly there?"

"I don't know, but I guess they had to find some way for five teenagers to get ranger powers in their power rangers story."

Tanya looked up at her husband. "I've missed this."

"Missed what?"

"Spending time with you and Sophie. It's so hard being away from both of you all the time."

"It's ok. Really. We both understand. You're living your dream and we couldn't be prouder of you."

"But it isn't ok. I'm hardly ever there. Whenever I am here, Sophie always wants to spend more time with you than me because she hardly ever sees me. She hardly even knows me. This tour has probably been the hardest for me. Every day, I wish that I could wake up and have my husband and daughter with me, but you're both here in Angel Grove while I'm traveling the world."

"What are you saying?" Adam asked confused where this was going.

"I'm going to finish the last couple of shows on this tour, but after that, I'm going to take a break from music for a while. I want to spend more time with my family."

"Are you serious?"

"I am. I've been considering it for a while now and after talking to Rocky earlier, I think that I need to take a break. For me. For you and Sophie. I think that I want to stay for a while and watch Sophie grow up and really be her mother. And also have more wonderful date nights with my husband." Tanya pulled Adam into a kiss. When they pulled apart, Tanya smiled at Adam. "Happy Valentine's Day."

Adam returned the smile. "Happy Valentine's Day."
