Chapter 1

The Ancient Lightsaber

I had been sent by the council, along with my fellow Padawan, a Wookiee named Garrgatcha, to the planet Naboo to check on a Republic storehouse that had recently been attacked. We were given our own ship, a Corellian VCX-100 Light Freighter.

Landing on Naboo, Gaar and I made our way to the storehouse where we discovered the bodies of the Clone Trooper guards bore wounds that could only have been caused by a lightsaber.

Drawing our own weapons, we stepped inside, unsure of what we would find.

The culprit was still inside, and what's more, he turned out to be my own brother, who I had not seen since before I joined the order.

Before any questions could be asked, Gaar and I received a distress call from another Padawan who had been sent to Naboo to recover an ancient lightsaber and had apparently run into some trouble. We raced off towards the spaceport where we found the Padawan had been ambushed by mercenaries and tied up in the cargo hold of her own ship. Before a battle could begin, the ship began to take off and we were ejected from the cargo hold shortly before it closed and the ship took off into the atmosphere.

Not wanting to lose so easily, we ran back to our own ship where I ran to the pilot's seat and began an emergency take off, intent on pursuing the mercenaries.

After realizing they were about to jump to hyperspace, I sped up to catch them with the intent to board. However, a protocol droid, designated DD-3PO, was rather alarmed at my piloting skills and decided to take over himself so that we would actually be able to board rather than just ram them.

Incensed at the droid's behavior I foolishly decided to man the gun which I fired at the other ship's engines hoping to slow them down enough for us to board, rescue our fellow Padawan and recover the lightsaber.

Unfortunately, the engines ruptured shortly before it jumped to hyperspace. I later found out that it had crashed on Tattooine and burst into flame. The lightsaber was recovered from the wreckage later but the Padawan, whose name I learned was Zoeletti was nowhere to be found.
