Life Say Special

Not that long after our mission to Yavin, I was relaxing in my quarters working on a model spaceship when there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find Gaar and his sister standing there. Since I could hear DD making his way here as well I pulled them both inside and shut the door in the droid's face.

Gaar took the opportunity to invite me to spend Life Day with his family on Kashyyyk.

Deciding that we deserved to relax and celebrate our recent success, I went to go find Ahsoka and invite her along. She took some convincing as Padawans weren't strictly supposed to go off alone but I assured her that we'd be there and back before they even noticed we were gone.

Since the Ghost was currently being modified, our only option was a public cruiser so we made our way down to the spaceport and boarded the next shuttle to Kashyyyk which was filled with Wookiees returning home. After narrowly escaping DD who had decided to follow us, the shuttle took off and we were on our way.

We arrived on Kashyyyk in short order and Gaar led us to his family's home tree. Having climbed to the top, courtesy of Gaar and his sister, we were welcomed by the rest of the family including their mother and sister. Gaar's brothers were less welcoming, even downright hostile, although they later calmed down after they were humbled through an incident that I won't go in to detail here.

It came time to eat and we enjoyed a mix of traditional Wookiee cuisine as well as more conventional dishes found elsewhere in the Republic.

Eventually it was tome to say goodbye, though Gaar's mother had some parting gifts. Ahsoka received a bag mad from Trandoshan leather whilst I was given a pendant that featured a leaf from her home tree.

The good feelings lasted right up until we reached the temple steps where our Masters were waiting. It seemed DD had told one us once we'd left the planet.

I had to relinquish control of my ship and we were no longer allowed to leave the Temple with being accompanied by a Master.
