Chapter 1: Smurfing away
Hey, guys! I'm back with another smurf story. This one takes place in the new timeline that was (spoiler alert) created at the end of Smurf Park, so give that story a read for this to make sense. I've decided to start when Clumsy and SmurfStorm were smurflings, so I can explain why Clumsy moved to Smurfy Grove in the first place. I'll also be showing Hector as a baby later in the story, and I'll show Emily even later. Anyways, I'm smurfing out the usual disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Smurfs, they are owned by Peyo. I also do not own the song and lyrics featured, some lyrics might be changed. Anyways, enjoy.
It was a nice sunny day in Smurf Village, and the smurfs knew it well. Clumsy was especially happy, because it was time for his monthly visit to Smurfy Grove. He was about to leave his mushroom, when he was stopped by Papa Smurf.
"Clumsy, where do you think you're going?" asked Papa Smurf. Clumsy could tell he was mad.
"I was just going to meet up with my human friend," lied Clumsy. It's a good thing he was skilled in the art of lying.
"Does this friend of yours live in the Forbidden Forest, by any chance?" asked Papa. Now Clumsy knew Papa was onto him.
"So what if she does? It's not as bad as you say it is," said Clumsy, before he quickly covered his mouth.
"Clumsy, I've told you time and time again, the Forbidden Forest is forbidden. And now you're meeting a friend who lives there without my permission," began Papa. "None of this makes any sense, and I really don't know why you can't follow simple rules. You snuck out of the village and it put you in grave danger." He then sighed in disappointment. "I'm sorry Clumsy, you're grounded."
"What?! But I-" said Clumsy, in shock. He had never been grounded up until this point in his life.
"No buts. You are not to take one step out of your mushroom without telling me where you're going. And you can forget about going to the Forbidden Forest ever again," said Papa Smurf.
Clumsy just frowned. "Am I any different from you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Grandpa Smurf said you got into trouble when you were a smurfling, just like me. And what happened to that smurfling? He became the next Papa Smurf!"
"That's because I learned from my mistakes."
"Oh, so I don't learn from my mistakes?! That makes perfect sense! You know why?! Because my name is Clumsy, which means I'm one of your mistakes!"
"That's not what I meant, Clumsy. What I mean is that you need to learn from your mistakes."
"I know one mistake, being delivered to this damn village!"
"I will not be made the bad guy. But if you don't like this village, then why don't go live with your friend in the Forbidden Forest."
"Great, I was planning on leaving this dump anyway."
"Fine, but don't come crying to me if you're homesick."
"I doubt I'll miss a place that won't let me be more than one thing. Good day to you, Papa Smurf!" He slammed the door shut in Papa Smurf's face.
Later that night…
Clumsy was packing his stuff so he could move away. Did I say move away? I meant run away. He was sick of getting in trouble for things he didn't do correctly. He was going to move in with SmurfStorm, as long as it was okay with her.
He took a couple of smurfberries and sarsaparilla plants as a food supply, left a note for Papa Smurf on his bed, and left the village. He then headed for Smurfy Grove.
As Clumsy entered the Forbidden Forest, he felt a little upset that he was leaving his home. But it didn't matter, as long as he got to live with Stormy. Suddenly, he felt a song coming on.
Place for me (feat. Sam Lavagnino) by We Bare Bears
Clumsy: Searching high
Searching low
Lookin' for a place
Where I can go
Bees got their hive
Moles got their hole
Lookin' for a place for me to go
My feet are aching
'Cause I've been walking
I've seen one million trees
Well, trees belong in the forest
But where's the place for me?
Once he finished singing, he realized he was right in front of Smurfy Grove… right before he was tackled by a warrior.
"Who are you?! Who sent you?!" asked the warrior.
"Relax, Willow. It's me, Clumsy," said Clumsy. He'd recognize that voice anywhere. The warrior lifted her mask, revealing she was indeed SmurfWillow.
"Sorry, Clumsy. What are you doing here this late?" asked SmurfWillow. Clumsy sighed.
"I ran away from Smurf Village, and I was wondering if I could stay in Smurfy Grove, if that's okay with you, Willow," said Clumsy. Willow could tell he was tearing up.
"It's okay, Clumsy. You can stay in Smurfy Grove as long as you want," said SmurfWillow, as she hugged Clumsy to cheer him up. "Come on, you can stay with Stormy." She then walked Clumsy to Stormy's treehouse, and knocked on the door, to which Stormy answered.
"Hi Willow. Clumsy, where have you been all… day?" asked SmurfStorm, right before she noticed he was crying. "Clumsy, what's wrong?"
"I got into a fight with Papa Smurf, then I ran away from the village," sobbed Clumsy, to which Stormy hugged him.
"There, there. Everything's going to be okay," said SmurfStorm, which seemed to cheer up Clumsy. She then faced SmurfWillow. "Willow, is it okay if Clumsy stays with me? Just until he wants to go back to Smurf Village."
"Okay, Stormy. But I don't think Clumsy will turn down the chance to stay with you his whole life, so you better make him feel like he belongs here," said SmurfWillow, to which Stormy nodded.
"Don't worry, Willow. I know Clumsy belongs here, because home is where your true love lives," said SmurfStorm. She then kissed Clumsy on the lips, causing him to smile and blush. "Come on, Clumsy, let's get you to bed." She carried Clumsy's luggage inside, and went to the bathroom to change into her pajamas.
"Why is she changing in the bathroom?" asked Clumsy, facing Willow.
"She just doesn't want you to see her naked. By the way, you should change too, I give you some privacy," said SmurfWillow, as she closed the door and left.
"Well, I'm not gonna let this privacy go to waste," said Clumsy. He then quickly changed into his pajamas, climbed into Stormy's bed, and waited for Stormy to finish changing.
"Okay, I'm ready," said SmurfStorm, who was now wearing a green nightgown. She then climbed into bed. "Clumsy, I'm only letting you sleep in my bed so we can practice."
"Practice for what?" asked Clumsy.
"You know, for when we're married. We'll sleep in the same bed every night. Also, because you look like someone who needs something to cuddle when it gets scary," said SmurfStorm, causing Clumsy to cuddle her. "Goodnight, Clumsy, I love you." She cuddled back.
"I love you too, Stormy. Nothing is going to change that," said Clumsy, as the two smurflings drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, in Smurf Village…
The sun rised above Smurf Village, and all the smurfs were wide awake (except for Lazy Smurf, of course). Papa Smurf, on the other hand, went to check on Clumsy.
"Clumsy, are you up yet?" began Papa Smurf. No answer. "Look, before you say anything, I just want to say I'm sorry I overreacted yesterday. But I only said those things to keep you away from the dangers of the Forbidden Forest."
Still no answer, causing Papa to sigh.
"I know what I did might be mean, but I just didn't want you to get hurt," Papa Smurf continued. "You may not know this, but out of all the smurfs in the village, you are my favorite. Just don't tell Brainy." Once again, no answer. "I think you've been grounded long enough. You can come out of your mushroom whenever you want to, and you can visit your friend in the Forbidden Forest."
Still no answer.
"Clumsy, are you still mad at me?" asked Papa Smurf. "He must've gone to the Forbidden Forest early in the morning. Well, as long as he's back before dark, he'll be safe." He then went to his mushroom.
Back in Smurfy Grove…
The smurfs of Smurfy Grove were wide awake, and some were still sleeping. SmurfLily and SmurfBlossom, on the other hand, went to check on Stormy to see if she was okay.
"Stormy, are you up yet?" asked SmurfBlossom, as she and Lily walked into Stormy's room. They looked at Stormy's bed, and smiled at what they saw. "Awww, look Lily, Stormy and Clumsy look so cute sleeping together."
"You're right, Blossom. Let's try not to wake them up," said SmurfLily, which ironically woke the two love birds up.
"What are you two smiling about?" asked SmurfStorm, who was still cuddling Clumsy.
"Nothing, it's just that you two look cute when you cuddle each other," said SmurfBlossom. Stormy and Clumsy realized what they were doing, and quickly stopped cuddling, then got out of bed.
"Sorry we woke you up, but you two do make a great couple," said SmurfLily. She then faced Clumsy. "Where were you yesterday? We thought something bad happened to you. And follow up question, why did you stay the night?"
"I ran away from Smurf Village because Papa Smurf and I got into an argument, so I came here. Willow said I can stay as long as I want," explained Clumsy.
"Oh, don't worry, Clumsy, you're going to love living in Smurfy Grove so much, you'll never wanna go back to Smurf Village," said SmurfBlossom. The three girls then gave Clumsy a group hug, which he happily accepted.
"I think I'm going to like it here," said Clumsy.
I know Papa Smurf seems out of character at the start, but then you realize that this is suppose to be imaged in the style of The Lost Village, where Papa Smurf was a bit more strict than he was in the live action movies (the latter of which I chose as the style for crossovers). So far, I think this is off to a great and heartwarming start. Also, I didn't mention this in Smurf Park, but Critic Smurf is a parody of Nostalgia Critic (right down to the actor that plays him), I'll show Critic Smurf later in this story.
