Chapter 10: Ollie + Amelia

Amelia was walking through the forest. It has been a year since she became a power ranger and she decided that she wanted to take a stroll around the place where it all started. She remembers how she was going ghost hunting and accidentally trapped Ollie in a net. Then, the two of them saw Void Knight enter a chamber that Dr. Akana found, and they followed him. If they hadn't followed him, they wouldn't have become power rangers. That's the day that Amelia met Zayto, Solon, and...Ollie. She didn't quite understand why Ollie always crossed her mind like that. Here she is, wandering around in the forest on Valentine's Day and the first person she could think of is Ollie. Why did it have to be Ollie? Ollie could be so annoying with his not believing in creatures that science hasn't proven to be real, but then again, he was annoying in a cute way. Does she really think that Ollie is cute when he's annoying? No, that couldn't be the case. Could it? They were friends. That's all. That one psychic might have said that they would have a strong relationship, but they're just friends.

As fate would have it, Amelia wasn't alone in the forest. She spotted Ollie there. He was looking at the statues of Dinohenge and looked to be doing some sort of experiment. They all knew that those statues held their link to the morphing grid, so what was Ollie doing? She wasn't just going to stand there and watch.

"Hey," Amelia said to make herself known and walked up to him.

Ollie quickly turned around. Obviously, he didn't know Amelia was watching him for a minute. "Hey," he said back.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to figure out more about the morphing grid to try to understand our powers better. Maybe then we could figure out more about how our morphing energy was helping Void Knight's plan."

Amelia laughed a little. "I'm guessing you don't have a date for tonight."

"No," Ollie admitted. "And since you're here, I'm guessing that you don't have a date either."

"No. You know you don't need to know how the morphing grid works. We know that it gives us our ranger powers."

"But we don't know if there's anything else that the morphing grid can do. It might be good to know in case we have to sever our connection to the morphing grid again."

Amelia shrugged. "I guess so." Suddenly, they heard something from behind them and both turned around. "You heard that, right?"

"Yeah," Ollie said. "I did."

They started walking closer to where they heard the noise and someone that they weren't expecting jumped out which made the two rangers take a couple steps back out of shock. "Guess who's back?"

"Void Knight?" Amelia asked. "How are you alive?"

"It doesn't matter, pink ranger. I'll give you a chance to get out of my way. I want the blue ranger."

"What do you want from me?" Ollie asked.

"You ruined my plans before. Now, I want my revenge."

"Well, I'm not going to leave and let you destroy him," Amelia said.

"DINO FURY KEY! READY! LINK TO MORPHING GRID!" the two rangers morphed and started fighting Void Knight. They were both doing well fighting Void Knight at first, but Void Knight started getting the upper hand. He hit Amelia out of the way and started targeting Ollie. Void Knight pushed Ollie into a tree where he slashed the blue ranger with his saber a few times and then pushed Ollie to the ground. Ollie got back up and continued to fight Void Knight.

Void Knight didn't want to draw this battle out longer than he had to. He just wanted to get rid of the blue ranger since it was because of said ranger that his lover was still in a comatose state. "It's over for you, blue ranger!" He charged up his saber with light purple energy and struck Ollie with it. Ollie immediately collapsed to the ground, demorphed, and passed out.

"OLLIE!" Amelia yelled and then looked at Void Knight who looked like he was getting ready to finish the job. "Get away from him!" Amelia charged at Void Knight and stopped his saber before he could strike Ollie with it again. She kicked Void Knight back and stood protectively in front of Ollie.

Void Knight looked at Amelia and decided that he could finish off the blue ranger another day. He's already injured anyway. "I'll finish the job later," Void Knight said as he teleported away.

Amelia demorphed relieved that Void Knight left. She then turned down to Ollie and kneeled down next to him. She turned him over onto his back and started to gently shake him. "Ollie." No response. "Ollie, wake up." Still nothing. She was scared that he wasn't responding. She could see that he was still breathing, which was the only relief she had. She was about to use her communicator to contact the others when she saw Ollie start to stir.

Ollie's eyes slowly opened and the first thing he saw was Amelia. "Amelia? What happened?" he asked and put a hand to his head. He had a pounding headache, but that wasn't the only part of him in pain. He tried to sit up, but every part of him was hurting. Amelia noticed and gently pushed him back down.

"You were injured by Void Knight," Amelia explained.

Ollie started remembering the fight. He then looked at Amelia and could see that something was wrong with her, and he wanted to know what was bothering her. "Are you ok? Did Void Knight hurt you at all?"

"No," Amelia reassured him. "It's just...you scared me." She started tearing up. "I was scared that I was going to lose you. Void Knight wanted to destroy you and he almost did. I barely managed to stop him. And then, you didn't respond right away when I was trying to wake you up."

"I'm sorry that I scared you, Amelia," Ollie said.

Amelia wiped her tears away. "You don't need to apologize. It wasn't your fault. I'm just glad you're ok." Amelia stared at Ollie for a minute. He was still injured, which she hated seeing him that way, but she was also terrified about Void Knight coming back eventually to actually destroy Ollie. She didn't want to lose him. She leaned down and kissed him on the lips. Ollie was shocked at first but ended up kissing back. After a minute, they broke apart. "I'm sorry," Amelia said. She knew it probably wasn't a good idea to just kiss Ollie out of the blue like that, but she did it anyway.

"It's ok," Ollie said. "I liked it."

Amelia smiled. She wasn't expecting Ollie to say he liked it, but she was glad he did. "I liked it too. I guess that psychic we saw a while back was right."

"I'm not saying that."

Amelia rolled her eyes. "I'll call the others. You're too injured to even stand."

"Ok," Ollie said. He knew Amelia was right even though he didn't like it. "Can we take a rain check on a Valentine's Day date?"

"Are you asking me out?" Amelia asked.

"Maybe."

"Well, to answer your question, I'd like that." Amelia called the rest of the team to tell them what happened and stayed by Ollie while the others were on their way. Amelia also made a promise to herself that she wasn't going to let Void Knight hurt Ollie again.
