Chapter 5: My smurfy first love
Disclaimer: I do not own The Smurfs, they are owned by Peyo. I only Hector and Emily because they're my OCs. SmurfAggie appears courtesy of I. M. Rally. I also do not own the song and lyrics featured, some lyrics might be changed. Anyways, enjoy.
It's been a century since Hector was born, and so far he was having a smurfy life. In fact, he was ready to visit the forest of his father's village, without going to the actual village of course.
He was about to ride his dragonfly, Misty, when he was stopped by his mother.
"Easy, tiger. Where do you think you're going?" asked SmurfStorm.
"I was just going to ride Misty, so I can look at dad's village," said Hector, in his American accent. He was wearing a new version of his crown-shaped smurf hat, a white shirt, a green leather jacket, soft black pants, green glasses, blue hair with black roots (thanks to hair dye), and soap shoes made by SmurfAggie. His voice had deepened early, even for a smurf.
"Okay, you can go, but don't let the smurfs there see you, and be back home before it gets dark," said SmurfStorm, who was getting a sense of deja vu. "Why do I feel like this has happened to me?"
"Probably because this is like the story of how you met dad," said Hector.
"Yeah, it kinda does. But still, be back before it gets dark," said SmurfStorm, to which Hector nodded. Hector then got on top of Misty, and flew to the wall that separates the Forbidden Forest from the regular forest.
Just as Hector left, SmurfAggie came in through a portal. "Hey Stormy, what's going on? Where's my favorite godchild?"
"Hector's just flying on his pet dragonfly. And as far as I know, he's your only godchild," answered SmurfStorm.
"Yeah, you're right. Are you sure he'll be okay going to the regular forest?" asked SmurfAggie.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine. Besides, I did the same thing when I was his age, and when I did, I met Clumsy," explained SmurfStorm. "You never know, maybe he'll meet the girl of his dreams."
In Smurf Village…
It's been many years since Smurf Village witnessed the "death" of Clumsy, and some smurfs still haven't gotten over it. However, Grouchy and Vexy had their hands filled for over a century. Ever since that fateful first day of August, when their daughter Emily was born.
Emily has long black hair in a ponytail with a blue stripe, a white smurf hat, a purple tank top, black leggings, and blue sneakers. She was just reading a book her mother gave her, when her mother walked into her room.
"Hey, Mom, what's going on?" asked Emily, in her Mexican accent.
"Not much, but we need some smurfroot to make some smurfroot mud packs. Can you be brave and leave the village to get some?" asked Vexy.
"Sure thing. And I promise I'll be back before dark," said Emily. She then grabbed a basket, and went to the smurfroot fields.
Back with Hector…
Hector landed near the smurfroot fields, and was admiring the regular forest. It wasn't much, but he could see why his dad would call this place home. Suddenly, Hector heard something getting close.
"Who's there?! I've got a dark blue belt in Smurf-Fu, and I'm not afraid to use it," said Hector, getting into his fighting position. Just then, the bushes started shaking. Hector got closer until… Emily popped out.
"Ahhh! A smurf! Wait, I'm a smurf!" exclaimed Emily. She and Hector then took long looks at each other. "Hi, I'm Emily, what's your name?"
"Oh, my name is Hector," said Hector. He put out his hand ready for a handshake, which Emily happily accepted.
"Where are you from?" asked Emily.
"I'm from Smurfy Grove, it's on the other side of that large stone wall." He pointed to the wall behind him.
"Wait, you're from the Forbidden Forest?"
He nodded. "Yeah, why?"
"My dad said that Clumsy Smurf went there for over a year, before he died."
Hector was confused about what he heard. "What are you talking about? My dad isn't dead, he lives with me and my mom." He then noticed Emily's shocked expression. "Oh, you didn't know that, did you?"
She shook her head. "But if your dad isn't dead, then how come his body was buried next to his tombstone?"
"He told me he faked his death so he could live with my mom in her village forever." He then remembered something. "Listen, when you get back to your village, don't tell anysmurf that my dad is alive. If they ask about me, tell them I was frozen in ice as a baby until 80 years after my dad's "death". Got it."
"Got it." They then noticed it was getting late.
"I gotta get going." He was about to get on Misty, before Emily stopped him.
"Wait! Will I ever see you again?"
He then faced her. "I'll make a deal with you. If you don't tell your village that my dad is still alive, you and I can meet here every month. Deal?"
"Deal." Before Emily had time to think, Hector kissed her on the cheek, causing her to blush bright red.
"Bye, I'll see you next month." He then got on top of Misty, and flew back to the Forbidden Forest, followed by Emily walking back home.
Back in Smurfy Grove…
Hector, Stormy, and Clumsy were having dinner, when Stormy noticed Hector's face.
"Sweetie, is everything okay?" asked SmurfStorm, causing Hector to stop daydreaming.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, everything's okay. Why wouldn't I be okay?!" stammered Hector. Stormy and Clumsy immediately knew what was going on.
"Okay, who's the girl?" asked Clumsy.
"What makes you think that?" asked Hector.
"Because you're making the same face I made when I met your father," said SmurfStorm. "So, who's the girl, and where's she from?"
"Okay, her name is Emily, and she's from dad's village," said Hector.
"Did you tell her I'm still alive?" asked Clumsy.
"Nope, she and I made a deal. As long as she doesn't tell the smurfs of her village that dad's alive, I'll visit her every month," explained Hector. Suddenly, Hector sneezed fire. Luckily, he didn't burn anything. "Wow, that's new!"
"Come on, let's go ask Willow about this," said SmurfStorm, to which they did.
Once they entered Willow's house, they quickly faced her.
"Willow, something weird happened a few minutes ago," said SmurfStorm, which got Willow's attention. "We were having dinner, and Hector sneezed, but instead of sneezing boogers he sneezed fire, and we don't know why."
"Well, I think I might know why," said SmurfWillow. She then grabbed a book, and showed it to them. The book had a picture of a smurf that looked like Hector, turning into a dragon. "There's a legend that the first boy to be born in Smurfy Grove will become the legendary Belgium Dragon, the only dragon to master the five elements, fire, water, earth, wind, and energy."
"So wait, I'm the legendary Belgium Dragon?!" asked Hector, to which Willow nodded. "Awesome!"
"You seem to be taking this pretty well," said Clumsy.
"Of course I am! Aunt Aggie said that, in her universe, there's a tv show where there's a dragon for different countries. But in our universe, at least in the future, that show is reality," explained Hector.
"Well, if it's reality, then we should start your dragon training tomorrow," said SmurfWillow. "We'll start with the basics, then move to the more complex stuff."
"Okay, Grandma. I'm going to bed," said Hector, as he went to his bedroom.
"Did he just call me grandma?" said SmurfWillow.
"Well, he's not wrong. Why? Does it make you feel old?" asked Clumsy.
"Older than usual, yes," answered SmurfWillow.
The next day…
Once Hector finished breakfast, he met up with Willow to begin his dragon training.
"Good morning, Hector. You're one minute early," said SmurfWillow.
"Thanks, Willow. So, what do we start with?" asked Hector.
"Start with the dragon transformation. Remember, focus your energy, then unleash the power," SmurfWillow instructed.
Hector took a deep breath, and began to focus. "Dragon up!" said Hector, followed by him successfully turning into the Belgium Dragon. His dragon form was blue, with a muscular heroic build, and his hair went down his spine like dragon spikes. He still had his smurf hat on, for some reason. "Hey, I did it! I am the Belgium Dragon! Also, check out this heroic build."
"I'll admit, this is an impressive dragon form. Now, let's try target practice," said SmurfWillow, pointing to the targets she set up. Just then, SmurfAggie came flying down with her wings. "Oh, good morning, SmurfAggie."
"Good morning, Willow. Hey, who's the dragon?" said SmurfAggie.
"It's me, Hector, your favorite and probably only godchild. I'm the Belgium Dragon. Isn't that cool?" said Hector.
"Smurf yeah, that's super cool," said SmurfAggie. She then remembered what she came to talk about. "Anyways, I'm back from my world to give the morning report."
"Fire away," said SmurfWillow.
The Morning Report by Samuel E. Wright, Scott Irby-Ranniar & Geoff Hoyle
SmurfAggie: It's an honor and a privilege, a duty I perform
With due sense of decorum and with pride
With defense and great respect very much the norm
Plus a hint of sycophancy on the side
To lay before my new friends all the facts about my realm
To fill you in on all the smurfy news
SmurfWillow: Yes, yes, Aggie, get on with it!
SmurfAggie: In order that you all stand sturdy at the helm
Aware of all the fauna's latest views
SmurfWillow: Aggie! The morning report!
SmurfAggie: Er-yes, Willow. The morning report.
Chimps were going ape, giraffes are still above us all
Elephants remember, though just what I can't recall
Crocodiles were snapping up fresh offers from the bank
Showed interest in a bird's egg, but she quickly said, "No thanks!"
They haven't paid the hornbills and the vultures have a hunch
Not everyone invited would be coming back from lunch
This is the morning report
Gives you the long and the short
Every grunt, roar and snort
Not a tale I distort
On the morning report
SmurfWillow: What are you doing, Hector?
Hector: Pouncing.
SmurfWillow: Let an old pro show you how it's done.
SmurfAggie: This buffalo had some beef about this season's grass
(SmurfWillow: Stay low to the ground.)
Warthogs have been thwarted in attempts to save their gas
(Hector: Yes, stay low…)
Flamingos in the pink are chasing some helpless birds
(SmurfWillow: Shhh… Not a sound.)
Saffron is the season's color seen in all the herds
(SmurfWillow: Take it slow.)
Moving down the rank and file under my bottom rung
(SmurfWillow: One more step, then…)
Far too many ball pits that are still full of dung!
(SmurfWillow: Pounce!)
Aaaaaaaaak!
Hector: This is the morning report
Gives you the long and the short
Every grunt, roar and snort
Not a tale I distort
On the morning report
All three: This is the morning report
Gives you the long and the short
Every grunt, roar and snort
Not a tale I distort
On the morning report
"Wow, even by smurf standards, you're pretty strong as a dragon," said SmurfAggie, as she got back on her feet. "Anything else I should know about?"
"Well, when I went to visit the regular forest, I met a girl named Emily," said Hector, causing Aggie's jaw to drop.
"You have a girlfriend?! Why didn't you tell me?! I could've given you dating advice!" said SmurfAggie.
"Easy tiger, me and Emily aren't quite there yet. But when we are, I'll be ready," said Hector.
"Well, just don't let your dragon training get in the way of your social life," said SmurfWillow, as Hector continued his dragon training.
If you're wondering why I decided to grant Hector these magical powers, then I'll explain. I just finished binge watching American Dragon: Jake Long (which I don't own), so I wanted to set up a crossover with that show and the smurfs since nobody bothered to make one. The next chapter will take place at the start of the post-credit scene from Smurf Park, which means Hector and Emily will be 140 years old (14 in human years), and Emily's mom will already know about Hector. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, later y'all.
