Chapter 8: Memories of the new Smurfy past
Disclaimer: I do not own The Smurfs, they are owned by Peyo. I only Hector, Emily, and Cindy because they're my OCs. SmurfAggie appears courtesy of I. M. Rally. Anyways, enjoy.
It was a nice, smurfy day in Smurf Village. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, Brainy wasn't talking…
"ACHOO!"
Oh yeah, and Hector has a cold. (I know it feels like I'm recycling plots, but it's only to show new memories that Stormy and Clumsy made in this new timeline.) He was lying in his bed, while his mom and Emily took his temperature.
"Well, from the looks of it, you just have the common cold," said SmurfStorm, as she checked the thermometer. "In the meantime, why don't you read a book or watch a video."
"Okay, mom," Hector sniffeld. He looked through his book collection, but stopped when he found a book called "Family Memories". "Hey, mom, what's this book?"
Stormy grabbed the book and smiled. "This is our book of family memories. It goes from the day me and your father met, all the way to now," she said. She then got an idea. "I know. Why don't I tell you two some of my favorite memories?"
"Oh, yes please," said Emily.
"I'm down for storytime," said Hector. "You already told me how you and dad met. And about your first kiss, your first Christmas with him in Smurfy Grove, and dad's first time visiting Smurfy Grove. So, why not start with dad's first week in Smurfy Grove."
"You're in luck, it's the story this photo tells," said SmurfStorm. She pointed to a photo of Clumsy in the middle of a group hug with the girls of Smurfy Grove.
It was Clumsy's first day of living in Smurfy Grove, and he was already nervous. Luckily, Stormy was there to help him get through this, starting with entering the dining room.
"Come on, Clumsy. The girls aren't gonna bite," said SmurfStorm, as she dragged Clumsy into the dining room.
"Okay, but I'm still sitting next to you," said Clumsy. The two smurfs then sat down at Stormy's favorite table. SmurfLily came and gave the two smurfs her famous heart-shaped waffles, which Clumsy immediately liked. "Yum. These taste better than Baker Smurf's waffles."
"Aw, thanks Clumsy," said SmurfLily. She then kissed Clumsy's cheek, causing him to blush.
"Lily, what did I say about kissing my boyfriend?" asked SmurfStorm.
"You said do not kiss him, because he's your man and your man only. But we can't help it, you picked a cute boyfriend," said SmurfLily, causing Clumsy to blush even more.
"Well, she's not wrong," said Clumsy.
"Yeah, but you're still my man. But I guess I could share you for a little while," said SmurfStorm. She then gave Clumsy a big hug, to which he hugged back.
"Group hug!" shouted SmurfLily, causing everysmurf to give Clumsy a hug, all at once.
"That was a cute story, short, but still cute," said Hector, followed by sneezing into a tissue. Just then, Clumsy came into the room.
"Hey, kiddo, are you feeling any better?" asked Clumsy.
"A little bit, but not too much," said Hector, before once again sneezing into a tissue. "Mom was just telling us some stories from our book of family memories."
"And you started without me?" said Clumsy, in shock.
"Don't worry, honey, I thought you might like the story behind this photo," said SmurfStorm. She pointed to a photo of her and Clumsy holding a baby boy, which Hector and Emily noticed.
"Hey, it's me as a baby," said Hector.
"Awww, Hector looked so cute as a baby," said Emily.
"Yeah, the years just fly by," said SmurfStorm, as she began to tell the story.
It's been one week since Hector was born, and everysmurf in Smurfy Grove thought he was the cutest thing in the whole village. Stormy and Clumsy, meanwhile, were still learning about being good parents.
Stormy woke up, and went to Hector's crib to wake him up.
"Hector, wake up. It's time for breakfast," said SmurfStorm, as she picked up her baby boy, who started to wake up.
Once Hector was awake, he grabbed his mother's nose.
"Ow. Hector, let go of mommy's nose," said SmurfStorm, to which Hector obeyed. "That's a good baby. You're a good baby."
"Honey, can you not do your 'embarrassing mother' voice, please," said Clumsy, as he got up from bed.
"What makes the voice so embarrassing?" asked SmurfStorm.
"It sounds like you're trying to be cringy," answered Clumsy, as he went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"Don't listen to daddy, he's just mad because you kept him up all night," said SmurfStorm, facing Hector.
"Hey, guys. And, how's my favorite godchild?" said SmurfAggie, as she walked in and patted Hector on the head, causing him to giggle.
"He's doing fine, Aggie. Did you bring the milk?" asked SmurfStorm.
"Sure did, and it's the perfect temperature as usual," said SmurfAggie, as she carefully gave Hector his bottle, which he started drinking from. "You know, I still can't believe that smurfs can have babies the human way."
"And yet, Clumsy and I now have a little bundle of joy," said SmurfStorm.
Once Hector finished drinking his bottle, he released a loud burp.
"Wow, excuse you," said SmurfAggie.
"Okay, you three, breakfast is ready," said Clumsy, to which everyone went to the dining table. Today's breakfast was pancakes with marshmallows.
"Wow, these taste amazing," said SmurfAggie, as she ate her pancakes. "I'm surprised Clumsy even knows how to cook."
"Yeah, SmurfLily gave me some tips on cooking when I first moved here," said Clumsy, as he began to eat his pancakes. "This one time, I even set her dress on fire."
"And the rest of her clothes. She even chased you around the village after that, the only thing covering her was the ash on her body," said SmurfStorm.
"So, she was a streaker?" asked SmurfAggie.
"Yeah, it took her 30 minutes to realize everyone saw her naked. I kinda feel bad for her, after all, it was partly my fault," said Clumsy.
"Partly?! It was entirely your fault! You're just lucky I was busy laughing, or I would've assumed you were cheating on me," said SmurfStorm.
"Wow, you're even acting like a married couple," said SmurfAggie, once everysmurf was done with their pancakes, except for Hector because he was full after the milk.
"Um, we are a married couple," said Clumsy.
"I know that, I was making a joke," said SmurfAggie. "Besides, ever since Hector was born, you've acted like a married couple even more than usual."
"It's a side effect of having a kid by accident," said SmurfStorm, causing everyone to laugh.
"Now that's what I call a cute story," said Hector, before he sneezed fire out the window… which burned Brainy's hat.
"AHHHH! IT BURNS!" screamed Brainy, causing SmurfBlossom to put it out with water.
After that, Stormy found a photo of Hector, in his dragon form, doing his dragon training. "Hey, this seems like a fun memory," she said, pointing at the picture.
Hector had just found out he was the legendary Belgium Dragon, and Willow helped him with his dragon training.
"Okay, Hector, try aiming at the targets, then launch your fire," SmurfWillow instructed.
"Okay," said Hector, who was in his dragon form. He then aimed at the closest target, and successfully burned it with his fire breath. "Hey, I did it!" He then used his fire breath on the other targets, which also burned to a crisp.
"Not bad for your first time," said SmurfWillow. They both went to the lake outside of Smurfy Grove. "Now we will see if you can use your water dragon form. You're still in your fire dragon form, do you think you can try changing forms?"
"Probably, here I go," said Hector. He then harnessed all of his true blue magic, and began the transformation. "Water Dragon Formation!" He then turned a slightly brighter shade of blue, and the spikes on his back looked more like fins. "Wow, this form looks cool!"
"Great, now try to breathe fire underwater," said SmurfWillow.
"Won't the water just put out the fire?"
"Not if you're in your water dragon form. Go on, give it a try."
"Okay, here goes nothing." He then jumped into the lake, where he found targets set up. "Wow, Willow is going all out with my dragon training." He then blasted away the targets with his water-proof fire, followed by him going back to the surface, and changed back into his fire dragon form. "How was that?"
"Very impressive. Now, we'll see how good you are in your earth dragon form." She walked him over to a boulder. "Remember, focus."
"Okay." He then focused his energy. "Earth Dragon Formation." He then turned into a green dragon, with leaf-shaped spikes on his back. "Wow, I've heard of going green, but this is… surprisingly cool."
"Great, now try destroying that boulder with something else."
Hector thought of something, and then remembered something he saw on Aggie's computer. He then punched a piece of rock out of the Earth, and destroyed the boulder with it. "Hey, it's like earth-bending." He then changed back into his fire dragon form.
"Very good. Now we'll see how good you are at controlling the wind."
"Okay. Wind Dragon Formation!" He then turned into a white dragon, with round spikes. "Wow, nice form, makes me feel warm."
"Great. Now, try to find a fire, and put it out with your wind breath."
"Okay." He flew up in the air, and (in less than five seconds) he found a fire that, for some reason, wasn't starting a forest fire. "Wow, Willow planned everything." He then flew down to the fire, made sure no one was using it, and used his wind breath to blow it out like a birthday candle. He then flew back to Willow, and changed back into his fire dragon form. "Okay, I did it. I didn't know you set up a fire for me."
"I wanted you to start small. Now, we'll see if you can handle the power of energy."
"So, electricity?"
Willow nodded.
"Okay. Electric Dragon Formation!" He then turned into a yellow dragon, with lightning bolt-shaped spikes. "Wow, I can already feel the spark."
"Very good. Now try using lighting bolts on those targets." She pointed to three targets next to the destroyed boulder.
"Okay, here goes nothing." He then made three lighting bolts with his bare hands, and destroyed all the targets with one bolt each. "Hey, I did it!" He changed back into a smurf.
"Very good, Hector. Come on, let's go back to the village and get some ice cream."
"Awesome! Can I get Cookies and Cream?"
"You always get that flavor."
"I know, and I'm not stopping today."
"I like that story," said Emily. She then noticed that Hector was asleep. "We better let him sleep in peace."
"Good idea," SmurfStorm whispered, as she turned off Hector's lamp. The three smurfs then left Hector's room, as he dreamed of all the memories he has made over the years.
I'm sorry if this took so long, I was busy with my schoolwork. What?! I'm still in 8th grade, but I'll be in 9th grade after summer. Anyways, have a smurfy day.
