chapter 13
Stockman missed having human expressions, missed able to exhale even sigh. Only seemed yesterday and yet, he didn't miss the hunger. A bonus of been cybernetic android. He has considered about the breathing, been alive once again but it would have to wait. The feelings of irritation and frustration was similar to human expression, except experiencing it computerized. Technical failure.
Observing the specimen that carried a contagious virus, pacing back and forth then circled within his cell. Rubbing his hands over folded forearms, trying to create and keep warmth whilst sneezing and coughing slightly. Another scientist approached stockman and cleared his throat as he held the paperwork of the test results.
"Doctor stockman, the results have." Dr austin kilmer paused, as stockman interrupted taking the paper from him.
"Results have what?" Stockman glared down Dr Kilmer. He exhaled and answered. "It appears to be vaporated instead of, remaining stable. Making the vaccine may take some time. We can not allow the infected specimen out until the cure is made first."
Stockman returned his virtual cybernetic eyes to the screen and watched the specimen continued pacing. "Doctor stockamn." Dr kilmer tried to gain his attention.
Few seconds later, he finally replied. "Get the job, get back to work. You have four hours and I am releasing the contagion as instructed by Agent bishop."
Kilmer nodded nervously and scurried away, doing as he was told. Stockman resumed watching and took notes but decided to conduct a little experiment while the vaccine was made. Giving the order of sending two volunteers for the experiment and having another room waiting for isolation. Two volunteers were taken to the contagion room and left until infected. The doors opened, footsteps lightly treaded close and stopped.
Stockman knew, keeping his back for a second then turned around. "Agent bishop."
With a raised open hand, stopping stockman from continuing speaking with his usual babble. Bishop said, inquiring. "Is it done?"
Stockman flustered virtually for a second then he replied. "Not exactly." Taking one step closer, he said. "Not exactly? What do you mean not exactly doctor?"
"The contagion hasnt been sent out yet, and waiting on the vaccine first to officially produce."
Bishop was irritated and ordered immediately with a low tone gruff. "I don't care, you can work on the vaccine and send the contagion out. Flush the girl out, I want her alive. She is more important then the city population. Now do as I have originally instructed doctor stockman."
"Yes agent bishop." Turning his head and said to the soldiers nearby. "Well? You heard the man. Do it now soldiers."
Two walked out, carrying out the orders as instructed. Bishop lowered his eyes, watching the soldiers walked out and past by him, the doors opened and closed as they exited the room. Bishop glanced the cybernetic scientist and asked. "I hear you have instructed two volunteers to be infected to create the vaccine, is that correct?"
Stockman answered. "Yes I did. Bad call?" Bishop approached the computer monitor where the contagion was kept and he exhaled short. "No, not at all. Experiments is what and how weapons and vaccines are made. So, get to work doctor."
Meanwhile, the soldiers assigned to take the infected contagion out topside. Another two walked out, with blood samples and volunteers that agreed to be experimental guinea pigs. Gloves and masks were handed over and instructed.
"Put these on, protect yourselves. He is highly contagious. Oh one more thing, sanatize your hands soon after."
Looking to eachother, blankly and shook thier heads then walked in. The contagion had his back facing them, using his forearms as hankerchief and sniffled. Turning around and asked. "Is it time? Going to help me?"
Neither answered or replied. Only gestured using thier hands, insisting the man to follow. Doing as told, he followed and a bag was put over his head. Taken to a waiting vehicle in the docking bay then under the veil of darkness, drove to the city. Few hours later, driving around until have found a drive through road, parked temporarily and opened the back doors then reached in. Grabbing a bicep of both arms and guided him out of the van. Stood behind, taking the bag away off his head and walked away. Getting in the vehicle and drove away, leaving the infected contagion in the general population.
The infected man walked out into the crowded population, not knowing his purpose of why he was sent and never knowing of what he carried. But, he only planned. Had to get to a medical clinic and fast, he grew hot and sweaty. Suffered the first stages of sharp pain in his chest.
Held one hand upon his chest, and reached out as he grasped the first person whom walked by and jumped as she felt him grasp her forearm within his reach. Gasping for help underneath his gasping slow loosing breathe. "H..help m..me."
Falling to the floor, still grasped her arm as she knelt down and tried to help him when another came to assist the woman and gasping breathless man, unknowing they were infected with the virus. "Hang in there, mate. We are calling the ambulance."
A small group of curious onlookers surrounded the samaritians and the man who was fighting the battle of loosing his breathe, not knowing they too were infected. Parked in the dark alleyway, and watched on the event occuring.
Taking out the laptop and pressed the button, connecting the video link. "Is it done, soldier?" Agent bishop asked. Private murphy replied. "It is done, sir."
"Excellent, return to base and have yourselves tested."
