Chapter 55
It was on a cold and windy April morning that Yue found herself walking the gravel path leading up to the Serpent's Lake estate of Iroh Nakamura. Yue knew the estate grounds like the back of her hand, having spent many months of summer at the Pai Sho camps held by Uncle Iroh, but she had never visited outside of the usual month of July. The place looked very different at this time of year, buds only now starting to sprout as spring was late to arrive this year.
She had spent two full days on the road with Sokka, sharing room in cheap roadside motels as they made their way southeast towards Ba Sing Se. Yue felt guilty about disrupting Sokka's life in such a way, forcing him to take days off from his work at the car repair shop. It was especially appalling considering how unfairly she had treated him in the past. Even now, after taking her all the way to Serpent's Lake, she hadn't been able to persuade Sokka that she would take it from here and that he should just go back to Agna Qel'a. Sokka had decided to remain and wait on her outside the estate's front gate, ready to take her to Ba Sing Se proper after she had spoken with Uncle Iroh.
Yue felt a little worried that Sokka was going so far out of his way to help her. Her fears were heightened because Sokka did not appear too broken up about falling out with Suki. Yue started to wonder if on some level Sokka still wanted to be with her. She desperately hoped that it wasn't true. Sokka was simply too good for her. Even if she couldn't stop the occasional thought about getting back together with Sokka – after divorcing Hahn, of course – Yue swore to herself that she would resist that temptation. She was simply too toxic. She had hurt Sokka plenty already and she couldn't allow herself to do it again.
While on the way to the Agna Qel'a airport, Azula had promised to call her uncle and inform Iroh about Yue's imminent visit. Her Fire Nation friend had held her word. As Yue approached the estate's entrance, a servant opened the front doors for her with a greeting, suggesting that her arrival was expected. The servant then led her down the hallway towards Iroh's office. Finally, she was admitted inside to face Uncle Iroh, the old grandmaster sitting at his desk and about to start on his breakfast. The aroma of steamed dumplings and veggies, together with the mandatory ginseng tea, made Yue's stomach growl and reminded her about all the meals she had skipped during the two previous days, all because of the haste to get out of the Water Tribe territory as quickly as possible.
"Ah, Yue! It is so good to see you!" Iroh exclaimed, waving at his servant to leave them alone. "Would you care to join me for breakfast? Darling girl, I don't mean to sound rude, but you look famished!"
"Thank you, Uncle Iroh, I would not refuse the offer," she replied, sitting down with him. Iroh was being very direct, but he was also right. Yue had always been a little on the skinny side, but a few months ago as the stress and anxiety of living with Hahn had really ratcheted up, Yue had begun experiencing some odd eating disorders. She had started to gradually lose weight, so her currently not particularly healthy appearance wasn't merely a result of the past two days, but rather of the past several months of not taking good enough care of herself.
"Azula called me two days ago," Iroh spoke. He picked up a clean plate and filled it with generous helpings of both dumplings and steamed vegetables, far more than Yue could possibly eat. "She told me everything she knew about the difficulties you have been facing, and I can see immediately that she hasn't exaggerated a word." Iroh shook his head as he put the plate in front of Yue, motioning for her to dig in. He then turned to pour her some tea. "The way we still treat young women in our society can be so disgusting. It's even more disgusting when it's done by men who probably consider themselves to be enlightened."
"I don't think anyone would call Hahn enlightened. Well, other than himself, which I suppose was your point," Yue admitted. "He certainly believes himself way above the common rabble in the street."
"Mhm," Iroh nodded thoughtfully. "I was concerned when I first learned about your marriage, mostly because of what my old friend Pakku was saying about the young man publicly. When Pakku Karetak criticizes someone's moral fiber, well… you know you're dealing with a seriously bad egg."
"I was such a fool to go along with my father's plan. I had ample opportunities to walk away, but I decided to stay. I didn't listen to my best friend telling me that I was making a mistake," Yue sighed. "All because I was angry at her and decided to do the opposite of what she wanted me to do. I let my emotions get the better of me. I guess you could say that what happened was-"
"I sincerely hope that you were not about to say that what happened was your fault," Iroh cut her off sternly. "You may have made a mistake, but this," he pointed towards his left eye. "This still had no right to happen." Yue blushed at that. She had thought the bruising would have faded by now, and she had put on an extra layer of foundation this morning to mask the few remaining marks. Still, she supposed that Azula might have told Iroh about the black eye.
"No… no, you're right, Uncle Iroh," she said.
"Right now, the most important thing for you to know is that you're safe here, Yue," Iroh said gently. "Try to relax. You still haven't eaten a bite. I want you to get some nourishment before we move on and start discussing the ways in which I could try and help you."
Yue nodded gratefully, trying her best to eat as much as she could. The food was delicious, but as always lately, she had to force herself to eat more than a few morsels. With Iroh watching her carefully, she tried her best to enjoy the meal, but soon enough the unpleasant gag reflex stopped her from eating more and she pushed the plate aside.
"There, isn't that better?" Iroh asked, smiling. Yue forced herself to nod at that. She didn't want to appear ungrateful by revealing that she felt rather sick at the moment, although, Yue supposed that she did need the nourishment even if she had to force herself. "Now we can have a little chat about your future, young lady. I'm sure you know that my niece was recently also in a very difficult situation, yes?" Yue nodded again. "Azula has done a commendable job in getting her life back on track, even if there's still a long road ahead of her. I could offer you a similar path than the one I have provided for my niece. I know that you are good friends with both Azula and Katara. Those two have injected life back into my Ba Sing Se estate, but there's plenty of room for you as well, should you choose to accept my offer. I think Azula and Katara would love another housemate. Not to mention that Ran and Shaw would love another warm body to cuddle up to," Iroh added with a chuckle.
"Who are Ran and Shaw?" Yue asked. She suddenly felt a little worried. Azula or Katara hadn't mentioned any boys living with them.
"Two of the most adorable kittens in the Earth Kingdom," Iroh laughed. Yue let out a relieved breath, feeling a little silly for her assumptions. "Anyway, what do you think about the plan so far?"
"I like it," Yue said simply. She had some concerns about living with Azula and Katara, of course. She had seen signs of growing attraction between the pair even before her friendship with Katara had disintegrated. Those signs were now being broadcasted so loud that they literally drowned all other noise around those two. Yue knew that deep down she still felt very strongly about Katara, but just like with Sokka, she didn't feel that she had any right to try and pursue a relationship with Katara, especially when Katara wanted to have something with Azula. Katara and Azula were doing her a massive favor right now. They were helping her escape an abusive relationship, perhaps saving her very life. Yue was not going to repay them by coming between the two girls and ruining their relationship, even if she didn't quite understand what sort of relationship Azula and Katara currently had. It looked like there were complications, but Yue felt like she would sooner open her veins than try to take advantage of that.
"But I don't want to be a freeloader, Uncle Iroh," Yue said then. "I just need a little push to get back on my own two feet. I want to learn to support myself."
"I'm glad you feel that way," Iroh chuckled. "You share this sentiment with my niece. Being independent is very important to her as well, and I appreciate that. Once again, I think I can provide the push you need."
"I appreciate the thought, Uncle Iroh, but I don't want to feel indebted-"
"Nonsense, because what I have in mind will have you helping me as much as I'll be helping you," Iroh interrupted her. "I am not sure if you know this, but Azula has been working as a waitress at one of my Jasmine Dragon teahouses in Ba Sing Se. I am sure there's a similar opening for you, if you'd choose to take it. I pay my waitstaff what is considered above the industry average, but working as a waitress is rarely the career goal of anyone, so the turnaround of employees still means that we are constantly recruiting."
"I would be happy to try any job, even if I've never worked before in my life," Yue admitted, feeling ashamed. This was why she had been so hard to convince to walk away from her father. She simply lacked any sort of practical skills to survive in the real world. "I have to warn you in advance, I would probably make a very poor waitress," she sighed.
"Somehow, I doubt that," Iroh chuckled knowingly. "You simply need training. After that, you'll quickly become a favorite with the customers, I'm sure. My niece was able to learn the ropes, and she's now doing very well at her job. Trust me, Yue, you'll be fine."
"Well, I'm certainly willing to try," Yue smiled hopefully. Knowing that Azula was able to handle the job of a waitress gave her a much needed confidence boost. Also, it was really strange to imagine Azula working as a waitress. Yue figured that she was absolutely killing it in her Jasmine Dragon uniform while bossing around her coworkers and customers alike, making them dance to her tune. That mental image amused Yue and made her feel quite eager about giving this job an earnest try.
"Excellent, I'll speak to my HR people and they will let you know as soon as there's an opening," Iroh nodded, appearing pleased. "Maybe we can even arrange for you and Azula to be coworkers." Yue merely smiled at that. It would certainly be an interesting turn of events, she had to admit.
"I know that this might seem very premature considering that you haven't even settled in yet, but I want to urge you to start thinking about your long term dreams and aspirations," Iroh then continued. "Because of what happened to my niece, she lost an entire year of both studies and competitive Pai Sho. You are in a similar situation, Yue. Tell me, did you plan on enrolling back in September?"
"Oh yes," Yue nodded. "I actually heard back from the BSSU board handling the applications. I applied for the four year course of literary studies and I made the cut. I just… didn't get to do it," she sighed. She felt very downcast at that memory. She hadn't been completely sure of what she even wanted to study, but once she had received the letter of acceptance, Yue had realized that she really wanted this. She had great love for books, and she dreamed of one day becoming a writer herself. Maybe there was a chance that this dream wasn't dead yet.
"Literary studies, an interesting choice and not quite what I would have expected," Iroh appeared a little surprised. "Azula is determined to enroll for the next study year. Is this something you would like to do as well?"
Yue didn't have to think long about her answer. "Of course, if there was a way for me to do that, then I would love to pursue higher education," she nodded decisively.
"Good," Iroh replied simply. "It's a decision I wholeheartedly approve of, and would be willing to support further financially, if necessary. Ideally, you and Azula should be able to support yourselves by working part-time, but you might still require some additional support. Life in Ba Sing Se isn't cheap, after all."
"You are offering me far more than I could have hoped for, Uncle Iroh," Yue said, shaking her head.
"Bah, investing in the future of bright young women like you and Azula is the simplest and easiest decision I've ever had to make," Iroh shrugged. "I know you both are capable of achieving great things… although, I probably shouldn't have said that. I didn't mean to put extra pressure on you."
"Don't worry, I do that quite well on my own," Yue let out a sigh.
"Oh, my niece is even better at that," Iroh rolled his eyes. "What of your Pai Sho aspirations, Yue? You haven't played competitively for months. Have you kept up the practice?"
"Not as much as I would have wanted," Yue admitted. "Hahn didn't like sparring or analyzing games with me. I think it was because I made him feel inferior, and then he got mad and he… well, you know," she sighed, lowering her eyes. "I still love Pai Sho, though. I would love to continue playing."
"That's exactly what I hoped to hear," Iroh smiled. "Don't give up on these dreams, Yue. Living under the same roof with Azula and Katara, you will catch up very quickly by practicing with them. Those two have become frighteningly good, but I know you can hold your own against them. Also, I'll make sure to stop by now and then for a game or two."
"I just don't know if it will be possible for me to manage it all, studies, work and Pai Sho on top of it all," Yue sighed. "I mean, I want to do all of those things, but I don't want to cut corners on any of them."
"That is a reasonable concern," Iroh nodded. "I feel like your studies and your Pai Sho career are both important investments in your future, and should be prioritized. If it means that you can't work even part-time, well… I'll just provide more support for you and Azula. She's in the same boat, remember?"
"Uncle Iroh, I want you to know that I fully intend to pay back every yuan you end up spending on me," Yue said, meaning every word.
"I know that you will, which is why this is such an easy investment for me," Iroh chuckled. "Anyway, we've talked and we've eaten our breakfast. Shall we be on our way? I would like to drive you to Ba Sing Se personally and show you the estate. I believe that Azula is at work and Katara has her classes this morning, so you'll need someone to show you around."
"That would be lovely, Uncle Iroh," Yue smiled. "I would just like to have a minute first to say goodbye to Sokka. Uh, that's Katara's brother. He drove me all this way from Agna Qel'a in his car."
"Yes, Azula mentioned that," Iroh said. "He sounds like a fine young man, exactly what I would expect Katara's brother to be like. Very well, go and say your farewells, and afterwards, we shall be on our way."
Several days passed and Yue was doing her best to settle into what would hopefully become her new home for the near future in Ba Sing Se. Iroh's estate was a little on the small side as far as she was concerned, and the lack of servants was worrying, but Yue supposed that if someone as spoiled as Azula could deal with that, then she should be able to endure it as well. Yue had chosen one of the downstairs bedrooms for herself. She would have preferred one of the free rooms upstairs, but an inner voice told her to give space to Azula and Katara while those two were obviously busy working out their relationship.
The first few days passed by quickly with Yue simply learning how to tackle the chores around the house. Operating all the various appliances was definitely a challenge, but she felt more confident about being able to handle things once she had written down detailed instructions, particularly for her prospective nemesis, the washing machine. Fortunately, Katara was a wizard with all this practical stuff and she was always happy to help, whenever she wasn't away for her classes at the BSSU. Yue was incredibly thankful to her friend for all this help, and she had tried to return the favor by surprising her housemates with breakfast, but it hadn't gone quite according to the plan. She had begun by incinerating the toast, and then it had all spiraled downwards from there, Azula almost ending up calling the fire brigade. It was clear that Yue needed a lot more practice before she was of any practical use around the house. At least she had learned to change the cat litter, which was something she gladly helped with because Ran and Shaw were the two most adorable little devils Yue had ever encountered, and she fell for their kitten charms instantly. Much to her delight, her affection seemed to be fully reciprocated.
Uncle Iroh had informed Yue that he had made all the necessary arrangements for her to start working as a Jasmine Dragon waitress starting next Monday. Yue was both nervous and excited for this new opportunity. She would be receiving her uniform a few days in advance, and she couldn't wait to get her hands on it. Yue had to admit that Azula looked absolutely gorgeous in her uniform. It seemed that Yue would be receiving her training at the same teahouse where Azula worked, but while Yue was happy about it, Azula seemed less than thrilled. In fact, Azula had not been in a good mood ever since Yue had moved in. She had been perfectly polite towards Yue, but there was clearly a lot of tension under her façade of politeness. It felt as if Azula was not happy about her being there and she only tolerated Yue's presence for Katara's sake.
Yue was pretty certain why Azula was acting this way and she resolved to have a heart to heart with the Fire Nation girl at the earliest opportunity. She definitely did not want the issue to linger and start to fester. Yue understood perfectly well that Azula was still recovering from that episode with her father and she was undergoing therapy. Because Azula clearly viewed her as a threat for Katara's affections, stress caused from Yue's presence was probably quite damaging to Azula, and Yue wanted to reassure her friend as best as she could. The trouble was that Azula went to work at around the same time when Katara left for her classes, the two departing together in Iroh's Corvette, but Katara usually returned first. So far, Yue hadn't been able to catch Azula alone at a convenient place and time for an open conversation, but she was determined to make it happen as soon as possible.
There was another matter that Yue wanted to start working on as soon as possible, preferably before she became too caught up in her new job. Yue had asked Iroh for assistance with this personal matter, and this upcoming Friday, they were scheduled to meet with Iroh's personal lawyer. Yue was fully intent on filing for divorce as soon as possible, and she knew that Hahn would end up signing the papers. Yue was sure that Hahn would kick up a fuss and refuse to sign at first because he surely would want to either bring her back or just punish her by drawing out the proceedings. But eventually, his family would force Hahn to agree to divorce. They would be motivated to do so because of the nature of the agreement Yue's father had signed with the Adjuk patriarch, and it stipulated severe consequences for the side that took the step to file for divorce. Yue would be violating the marriage agreement, which meant that her family would be forced to forfeit many of its valuable assets in favor of the Adjuk family.
Obviously, Yue didn't care about any of that, since she was likely to be disinherited anyway, but this move would seriously screw over her father. She didn't feel too badly about it, though. Arnook wouldn't end up on the street or anything like that. He'd just go from being ultra-rich down to simply being rich. He'd probably have to move into a slightly less splendorous mansion and let go some of the staff. Compared to what she had been forced to deal with, Yue was sure that her father would somehow manage to cope.
All in all, Yue would have greatly enjoyed her first few days in Ba Sing Se, if not for the simple and obvious fact that her presence was causing great stress to Azula. It was on her fourth day at Iroh's Ba Sing Se estate when Yue decided that she could wait no longer for the opportunity to catch Azula alone. Yue and Katara were chilling in the living room, playing the latest vinyl by the Buggles and giggling about the seriously weird songs about yellow submarines and whatnot. Azula had lost rock, paper and scissors to decide who would do the dishes, so she was now standing at the kitchen sink and working sulkily, time and again nervously glancing at the two Water Tribe girls nearby. Azula's reaction made Yue realize that she had to do something right here and right now to avoid making the situation worse.
"Kat?" Yue asked as the music resumed playing, drowning out their voices and making sure that Azula could not overhear them. "I think I should speak with Azula."
"Oh? What is this about?" Katara asked. Yue was sure that Katara was playing for a fool. There was no way someone as perceptive as her Water Tribe friend hadn't noticed Azula's increased levels of agitation.
"I think you know," Yue said meaningfully. Katara's cheeks colored lightly. "Listen, I want you both to know that I don't plan to come between you two, alright? And I think Azula in particular needs to hear it from me."
Katara nodded gratefully, her cheeks a little on the pinkish side. "I've been trying to be as reassuring as I can, but she's still freaking out," Katara sighed. "Maybe hearing it from you will help, but… just be careful, okay? She's been through a lot. And so have you, of course, but-"
"Oh, you don't have to tell me, Kat. I know that Azula is the clear winner in the 'Horrible Things Happening To Me' competition," Yue nodded in agreement. "I'll be careful, I promise. Could you give me a few minutes with her?"
"What, now?" Katara asked. Yue nodded again. "Alright, but as I said, please be careful." Katara rose and walked upstairs, still looking a little worried. Yue felt a tiny bit hurt, sensing that Katara didn't quite trust her with Azula, but she supposed that Katara was concerned for a reason. Yue hadn't handled relationship stuff well at all in the past. It was time to change that, however.
After Katara had left, Yue also got up and stepped into the kitchen. She had forgotten to turn down the volume of music in the living room, so Azula didn't hear her approaching footsteps. "Azula?" Yue said to alert the Fire Nation girl, reaching out to touch her shoulder from behind. Azula let out a startled yelp and flung the bowl she had been toweling. Fortunately, Yue just about managed to catch the bowl as it was flying past her, setting it back on the kitchen countertop.
"Agni, what the-… what's wrong with you?" Azula glared at her. "Why would you startle me like that?"
"Sorry, my bad," Yue sighed. She was off to a terrible start already. "Can we talk for a moment?" she asked, deciding not to let go, even if Azula looked to be in a particularly foul mood.
"I'm busy with the dishes, in case you haven't noticed," Azula snapped. "Why don't you go and hang out with Katara? It's obviously what you-" she silenced herself just in time before saying more than she had intended to say.
"Why don't I help you with the dishes?" Yue offered. "You do the rinsing and I'll towel them off. We'll be done just in time to catch the latest episode of Trek."
Azula seemed to be considering this, eventually being won over by Yue's persuasive argument. "Alright, it's a deal," she nodded, grabbing another plate and starting to scrub it.
"I hope you don't mind too much if we talk, because there's something I need to tell you, Azula," Yue began after a minute or so of working in silence. "I want you to know that I am not a threat to you."
Azula froze for a moment before replying. "Well, obviously. I've never lost to you before, why would I consider you a threat now?" she replied.
Yue sighed inwardly. "I wasn't talking about Pai Sho, and you damn well know it," she said. Azula's cheeks colored instantly, even more fiercely than Katara's had done. "I'm talking about Katara, if that wasn't clear enough."
"I don't know what you mean," Azula replied stiffly. She had gone completely rigid, fumbling and dropping one of the plates back into the sink.
"Alright, I'll let you keep pretending if that's what you want," Yue sighed. "Instead, I'll just tell you what I told Katara. Regardless of our past relationship, I swear that I don't plan to go after Katara. I just want to be her friend, just as I want to be your friend."
It looked as if some of the tension had bled from Azula, but she still sounded very hoarse when she spoke up again. "You can't know how you'll feel in a few months," Azula pointed out. "Katara can't know that either. Don't make promises you might be unable to keep."
"That is a fair point, Azula," Yue was forced to admit. "But I'll tell you something else. By letting me stay here, you and Katara have saved me from this horrific relationship I was in. I am not going to repay you by trying to come between you and Katara, okay? That would be the worst kind of betrayal I could do in return for you literally saving my life. I know I've done some stupid things in the past, Azula, but I feel like I've grown up a little bit, and what I went through with Hahn has changed me. I don't want to be that person who does something so despicable to my two best friends. That's the best reassurance I can give you, and I hope that it means something."
Azula had stopped scrubbing the plate she had been working on by the time Yue finished her speech. Azula's reaction took Yue by complete surprise, though. The Fire Nation girl turned on her and then enveloped Yue in a tight hug. Azula's hands were drenched wet so it wasn't the most comfortable of embraces, but Yue was more than happy to endure it. As they parted, Yue could see that Azula was very close to tearing up, but the reaction seemed to be coming mostly from her overflowing with relief. "I really hope you meant that," Azula said simply.
"I meant every word," Yue nodded. She then motioned for them to sit down at the kitchen table. "Can I ask you something, though?" she asked. Azula nodded at her. "You guys have clearly become really close living under the same roof. Why aren't you together? It's painfully clear that you're into each other."
Azula's expression clouded somewhat. "It's mostly because of my father," she admitted. "He's still sending me threatening letters every other week, promising to hurt those I care about if I don't return to the Fire Nation to live with him."
"That is so messed up," Yue exclaimed. After what Ozai Nakamura had tried to do to his daughter, this shouldn't have surprised her, but still, this kind of persistent stalking was creepy as fuck. At least she didn't have to worry about that with her father… or at least she hoped so. "Do you think he'll stop at some point?"
"No, unless I do something to stop him," Azula said firmly and decisively. "And I plan to do that, but obviously I'm not ready for it yet. I'll get to it soon, though. And afterwards, if Katara still wants… although, why would she? I know it's totally unfair to make her wait. She deserves better than that. Maybe you two should just get back together, it would be-"
"Azula, stop," Yue spoke up. She noticed that the other girl was starting to get seriously worked up, almost hyperventilating. Yue was overcome with an immense wave of sympathy for her Fire Nation friend. Katara had told her that Azula had a deeply vulnerable side, but Azula had never really shown it to Yue before. Now that Yue was seeing it, she was seriously overwhelmed by what she was witnessing. There was no way she could do something to make Azula's condition worse. She reached out and took Azula's hands in hers. "Listen carefully, Azula. Katara really cares about you, which means that she's going to wait for you as long as necessary. She simply is that patient. As for myself, I'm going to make a pledge of complete and unwavering support for your relationship. I'll do everything I can to help you guys eventually get together. It's the least I can do to repay you for what you've done for me."
Azula finally looked much calmer after hearing this. "Thanks," she said quietly, looking a little embarrassed. "Ugh, you must think me a complete mess. I am so over breaking down like this," Azula sighed, lowering her eyes.
"Please, don't feel embarrassed, Azula," Yue tried an encouraging smile. "I know what you've been through. You're holding up so well for someone who has been though something so horrible." Yue's smile then faded as the memories of that horrible and dark summer drifted back to her. "Azula, I… I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed the support. I was a terrible friend not only to Katara, but also to you. What I did was unconscionable, and I don't know how I'm going to make it up to you," she half-said, half-sobbed.
"It's alright, Yue," Azula attempted a weak smile. "Katara was there for me and I had all the support I needed."
"But I should have been there for you as well," Yue insisted. "And I wanted to, but my petty bitterness and jealousy wouldn't let me. I am so ashamed about it."
"Well, don't be, because I also owe you an apology, Yue, and it's also due to my jealousy," Azula confessed, avoiding Yue's eyes. "I'm sorry I was so reluctant about helping you when you were trapped in an abusive relationship. I was just… freaking out that you and Katara…" Azula was struggling to speak by now, becoming so anxious that she was starting to hiccup.
"Spirits, we're both such messes, aren't we?" Yue sighed, grunting when Azula pulled her into another hug and they held each other so tightly, almost as if trying to squeeze the life out of each other.
"Thank you for telling me all this, Yue," Azula sobbed into her shoulder. "I was so conflicted about you living with us, but now I'm very happy that you're here."
"And I'm so happy to be here, now that we have cleared the air," Yue smiled as they slowly parted from their embrace. "But perhaps a distraction from this messy drama is in order. Why don't we grab Katara and chill on the sofa while watching some Star Trek?"
"But I'm not done with the dishes," Azula pointed out.
"Bah, the dishes can wait, we'll just take care of them together afterwards and it won't take more than a few minutes," Yue said decisively. "Right now, I think we need to have a bit of fun, wouldn't you agree?"
Azula definitely seemed to be in agreement with that.
Next chapter: How about some slice of life scenes from Ba Sing Se? Let's see how Azula is getting on with her family a few months down the road.
