Private Fernandez and Angeles kept close, back to back. Pointed their lit weapons ahead of themselves. Private Angeles, sighed and said.

"Why it is always us, has to be bait?" private Jose sighed and replied.

"Whatever happened to banks, seems to be we are the obvious choice. Let's hope we find this girl, fast. I am starting to get hungry."

"You never ceased to amaze me, Jose." private Angeles commented.

"The more you two continue chatting, the hunter will find us before we find them and the girl. Do us a favor and shut up." major smith demanded angrily.

Both private Fernandez and Angeles replied. "Yes sir."

Major smith was distracted by a fast moving shadowed figure. Crept out alittle and looked around, keeping his light dim. Keeping his presence hidden. he slowly stepped out of the corridor corner. The sound of running thin stream of water echoed. Trinkling water covered the walls.

Major smith sighed frustratedly and turned the light on, once more he saw a flash of moving dark figure. Stepped back in the shadows and waited.

Suddenly he found something useful, crouching down and picked up the cloth.

"Well, well. So there is others down here." he exhaled hard.

"Damn that is reek. This has to be no human, smells like a rat."

Meanwhile, private Angeles and Fernandez were around the corner from major smith when Fernandez tripped and fell in the water. Private Angeles laughed and offered his hand to assist his comrade when suddenly he was struck from behind. Private Fernandez watched silently, shocked as his friend fell forward, face down into the water.

"Angeles!!" private Fernandez hurriedly turned Angeles, checked his pulse. Luckily he was still breathing. Laid his friend on the concrete path and rose his weapon, pointed the light ahead. He called out.

"Come out! Show yourself, coward!"

Splinter had dropped behind Fernandez, followed quietly close by. Splinter had miscalculated his approach as he had felt something pierce his shoulder. Lowly growled and exhaled deeply, as he collapsed on conscious. Private Fernandez quickly turned on his heel, pointing the light upon splinter while he laid on conscious.

Major smith approached the prisoner as Fernandez said. "Holy crap. That is, that is a rat!"

"We now know what killed the last squadron." major smith stated and instructed. "Tie it up and take it to the surface. I will continue searching for the girl."

"What about Angeles?" Fernandez wondered. "Almost forgot him. You carry the rat and I'll carry Angeles."

Major smith hung his weapon over his shoulder and assisted Angeles to his feet and called for reinforcements. "Private down, assistance needed and specimen found. Girl still not found."

"Squadron three on the way, be there in five."

In the lair, Miriam waited with the children as they slept contently. Cradled Mikey in her embrace and covered in the warm blanket. She began to worry for her mate as she knew something had disturbed the peace of the sewers surroundings. Caressing his head, contently.

Softly prayed. "Come back to us, my love."
