Summary: The Titans find themselves in a new alien world. Inside Mad Mod's ruby.

Everything was red. Red walls. Red floor. The air itself was tinted red. It was both pretty and scary. The rather liquid air literally shimmered. It was as if their current world was inside a wine glass.

"Where are we?" Beast Boy asked.

"I don't like the color," Raven squinted. "Too bright."

"It's like being on Mars," Starfire cried.

And, the others already knew that that was a personal observation.

"So, where are we?" Cyborg cried.

"You're in quite a privileged place," a British from above voice informed them smoothly.

All eyes stared up and the man looming over him was sure that they couldn't believe what they saw. He was so big.

"Mad Mod!" they all cried.

He glowered down at them with his crooked teeth and circular deep blue glasses.

"I hope that you like the color red as in you're currently standing in my ruby. To be specific, the ruby that decorates the top of my trademark cane."

"Did you really make us into miniature toys?" Robin demanded with a pointing finger.

"Precisely," He moved his face closer to them. "You're all so cute now." He smirked.

"But, how?" Raven growled.

"It's a secret," he shrugged. "Well, a new power really." he revealed while toying with his cane. "In short, I can shrink anyone whenever I want."

"No way!" Cyborg shouted.

"It'll be like a traveling school. You'll travel with me, and I'll be your teacher," he declared with a bright grin. "Won't that be fun, duckies?"

Unfortunately, Mad Mod couldn't really hear what they were saying as they were all frantically talking to one another. Uselessly too.

"Maybe I'll teach you some fashion design," Mad Mod continued, "but that might be too difficult for you to comprehend."

Perhaps he would dress them all in red. It wasn't as if they could object to that.

"Do you really need friends that badly?" Beast Boy asked loudly.

That statement actually managed to annoy him. It was like a slap. What did friends have to do with anything?

"You're not friends, you're mere students because because unworthy brats need discipline! Now, the world is safe from you lot"

Also, he felt it redundant to mention that they were technically enemies.

"Maybe we can crack this gem," Robin suggested as he began sizing up the walls.

"I wouldn't," Mad Mod said. "It's dangerous!"

Mad Mod knew that the unruly children needed control, and it was about time they got some.

He tapped the cane on the ground and the ruby was instantly alight. The burst of light flashed all around them. He was sure that some of the titans hit the floor.

"Where are we?" Starfire panicked.

"Everything is red!" Robin cried.

And, just like that, the five Titans had lost their memories. After all, there was no escape from the light inside the jewel. It wasn't as if it was his fault that the jewel had so much fire.

Mad Mod wagged his finger. "Tut tut. You should remember a student that has a poor memory isn't a good student at all."

All five stared at him fearfully from below. For, in this moment, he was the one who had power over them.

"Oh, well." Mad Mod shrugged as he clutched the bejeweled cane close. "I'll just have to teach you again. Teaching, after all, is a worthy practice."

But in truth, Mad Mod did in fact get lonely at times, yet he was a professional villain by trade. He already knew that emotions were for the weak and quite inconvenient at that. They got in the way of business.

Oh, well. Just in case they got too emotional, he had the methods to quiet right them down whenever he felt that it was necessary with another tap of the cane.

Inside the jewel, Mad Mod could heat that it was pandemonium. He could hear the heroes' mad babbling, but there wasn't a darned thing that they could do presently.

In this moment and time, he was the victor. That was what mattered. And, it was so sweet.

As if to answer him, the sun came out from behind the clouds as he walked with the cane in tow. The sun made the jewel glitter even more. It was a lovely.

Yes, it was going to be a beautiful day.

A/N: That was a little dark. If I get inspired, I might write more. This is such a random fic.
