Among The Perdi
Disclaimer: Thought I'd do a little something with Nyssa, especially where the LoA is concerned in 'Black Lightning'.
After checking out the most recent updates for the heavily encrypted server that all the Heroes and their Allies now used and added too after various events, Thea and the Al Ghul Sisters had learned of Ishmael and his goal of joining the League of Assassins. Something that wasn't possible considering Nyssa had disbanded the League and Thea with Talia's aide, re-shaped it into the League of Heroes. The fact he had believed he needed 100 Meta-Human kills and had been close to his goal had been sickening for the three ladies and Nyssa chose to look into the matter herself since she was the only one available of the trio to do so. Jefferson and Lynn were both understandably wary of her considering her past connection with the League while Anissa and Jennifer were the opposite. Grace would've met her as well but considering she'd gone to visit the McCall-Yukimura Pack in Southern California to see if she could get some tips/advice from the Alpha there about her Shifting and Control in relation to it, she just wasn't able to do so at that time. The little information Nyssa had been able to gain from her investigation of the matter in Freeland had led to Talia's growing theory that their brother Dusan may be behind the whole thing.
Said brother being a brother Nyssa had never had a clue of and learning he'd been banished from the Halls of Nanda Parbat by their father as he believed Dusan had no place in the League due to his Albinoism. But until they were able to locate him or come across anyone who may be part of this supposed League, they were at a dead end for the time being much to their dismay. And during Nyssa's time in Freeland, she would end up meeting the Perdi when the Kobra Cartel had decided to try and force them into paying them protection money now that Tobias Whale's dead, Lala's in Prison, and the 100 was no more because of those two things respectively. Allowing for Lady Eve and Destiny to take over in the 100's place with the only resistance being the Police and certain Heroes in the area. And once the Cartel members had been sent packing, Nyssa would be given a tour of the area the Perdi has in their control courtesy of Anaya and would find herself reminded of Nanda Parbat in certain instances. "What you and your people do here… Reminds me of the only home I've ever known and had." Commented Nyssa quietly to her guide once they were at her home for the evening.
Something in her words quickly captured Anaya's attention. "You no longer have your home?"
"No. Not for some years now ever since I chose to disband the League of Assassins and allow Time to begin taking away my former Home without interference since there was no reason to remain there. Life… Was not easy there but we did grow our own food and created our own clothing." Nyssa told her softly while sipping on the Tea that had been made.
"And you've not been able to call anywhere else Home ever since." Surmised Anaya.
Gaining a shake of the head in return from the other woman. "No, since then I have been going place to place, never staying too long for one reason or another and honestly… I have begun to grow tired of it. Those I could call friend, which is a very small list, are moving on with their own lives in their own ways while my own life has essentially become stagnant. The woman I call Beloved… Our paths are different and because of that, we can not be together and though it has been years, this still pains me greatly."
As it is, she had no idea if Sara was even alive at this point considering she was off in Outer Space of all things at the moment to retrieve several individuals who'd been abducted by an Alien Spacecraft sometime ago. Had she the chance, Nyssa would've offered her Sword to the Cause just so that she could be near Sara again, regardless of the pain it may cause. But alas, that had not come to pass to her dismay. Anaya's heart broke for the woman at her Table and decided to make an offer. "You are tired of how your Life is currently and in need of a home. If you wish it, the Perdi Community could be your home."
Her words made Nyssa look to the younger woman in shocked surprise, gaining a sad smile in return. "My offer is genuine, Nyssa."
"Even though we do not know one another?"
"Even though we don't know one another. I'd like to think my Community is a welcoming one and you clearly need to be welcomed somewhere for as long as possible so that your Mind, Body, and Soul can have some much needed rest. You don't have to answer right now but just think about it, okay?"
"I, I will." Murmured a still shocked and surprised Nyssa.
And think about it for several days she would before ultimately making her decision to take Anaya on her offer to become a part of the Perdi Community much to the other woman's happiness and relief. For she knew Nyssa needed something concrete before she went into a downward spiral. The Community would be welcoming of her and Anissa and Jennifer would be especially happy about the decision to stay there as they had both come to quickly like Nyssa and wanted to even learn from her as well. Talia and Thea both would be surprised by Nyssa's decision to effectively hang up her Sword and put down some roots in Freeland but ultimately respected and supported the decision and hoped Nyssa would be able to have happiness there for as long as possible. Nyssa would promise however that should she be needed, she would be there with her Sword at the ready.
Author's Notes: Probably would never happen in actual canon but oh well. I kinda figured Nyssa wouldn't stick around to live in Nanda Parbat after dissolving the LoA and would essentially be on the move a lot because of that and being a wanted individual by Agencies like ARGUS. So this basically gives her some breathing room and a chance for some deserved happiness.
