In 1991 on a vast snowy landscape near a mountain two men enter a small tunnel that ended at a pair of large metal doors. The two men turned keys on either side of the doors opening them. A third man, a grey three eyed creature in a red robe, Black Death walked through and typed in a code that opened a second a small safe. Inside was a red book with an omega symbol in the center. Deeper in the base inside a lab a glass cylinder rose revealing Maria strapped to a panel. She stared up blankly as if in a trance. She was taken off the panel and carried by two guards. She was secured to a chair and a device was put around her head. She howls in pain as the device activates. Black Death walks around her reading from the book "Тоска. Ржавый". The device is removed "Семнадцать… Рассвет… Печь… Девять…. Добрый…. Возвращение домой… Один… Грузовой вагон.". Maria looks up to Black Death who closes the book "Доброе утро, солдат" "Готов подчиниться" "У меня есть для тебя миссия. Санкция и выписка. Свидетелей нет".
At night somewhere a car drove down a long road. Maria was in the trees on a motorbike but was not in her suit. She drove alongside the car and hit it with her robotic arm. The car hits a tree near a metal fence stopping it dead. Maria circles back and climbs off her motorbike. She opens the boot of the car and finds a metal case. She opens the case revealing red packets of a serum.
Back at the base Maria opens the case in front of Black Death "Well done, Soldier".
In present day Savannah, Silver the Hedgehog was sitting at a table wearing a baseball hat and sun glasses. He casually drank a mug of coffee and eyed a police station opposite him. He heard Shadow "Alright, what do you see?" "Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target". Shadow was watching from a window in a high building "There's an ATM on the south corner, which means?" "Cameras" "Both cross streets are one-way so both compromised escape routes". One the table next to Shadow were newspapers showing a scarred Konor in silver robotic suit "Police Stations Robbed" "Weapons sold to Terrorists" "Means our guy doesn't care about being seen. He isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?" "Yeah, the red one?". Rouge was sitting at a table near silver wearing sunglasses and a jacket over her mission outfit "It's bulletproof, which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us". Silver took a drink "You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" "Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature". Shadow watched Bark walking across the rooftop near him "Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" "Not to my face. Why? Did you hear something?" "Eyes on target, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Konor in six months. I don't want to lose him". Bark scoffed "If he sees us coming, that won't be a problem. He kind of hates us". Shadow sees a bin lorry bumping past cars "Bark, see garbage truck? Tag it". Bark's board fires out a small yellow mini-version of the board which followed the truck. It flies underneath the truck and gives x-ray results to Bark's lenses "That truck's loaded for max weight. And the driver's armed" "It's a battering ram" "Go now! He's not hitting the police". Shadow ran out of the room as Bark jumped off of the roof on his board.
Outside of the Centre for Infectious Diseases a guard spots the bin lorry speeding towards them with the driver jumping out. The guard jumped out of the way as the truck hits the barrier and flips over and crashes into the car park. Two yellow trucks drive in and release armed soldiers including the now silver Konor. They kill the guards outside and fired smoke grenades through the windows of the building. The staff inside lie unconscious as the soldiers put on gasmasks and entered. Outside Bark flies over and drops off Shadow who lands on one of the soldiers. Shadow shields himself from fire and kicks one of the vehicles forward hitting another. He throws a spear taking out two more and jumps on top of another car and kicks a seven into a wall "I make seven hostiles". Bark flies to the roof, he jumps off his board which hits one soldier in the chest and Bark punches the other to the ground. He takes out a gun and shoots a third "I make four". Silver lands in the courtyard and blocks bullets with a cyan shield. He catches the bullets and throws them back hitting the soldier. The mini board flies in and scans the building "Konor's on the third floor".
Shadow nodded "Silver, just like we practiced" "What about the gas?" "Get it out". Shadow jumps and Silver uses his power to throw him into the window of the building. Shadow tears the gas mask from a guard near him and kicks him back. On the floor above Konor smashes down a glass door and takes a cannister from inside marked "Biohazard" "Pack it up". Shadow ran through the corridor taking guards as he passed. Outside Bark gives Silver cover as he manipulates the gas and begins pulling it outside. Bark hit a button on his wrist and his board fires two missiles that hit and kill the soldiers. Silver sends the gas up into the air allowing it to dilute before reaching anybody. Konor steps out of a balcony and sees the gas "He's here" they repel down onto a truck. Shadow enters the lab "Konor has a biological weapon" "I'm on it". Rouge lies down onto an armored car. He takes out four of the guards outside. She throws a small device at a fifth which stuns him. Konor suddenly grabs her by the back of the neck. He drags her on top of the car. Rouge puts a stun device on his neck, but he doesn't react "I don't work like that no more". He throws her through the roof hatch and drops down a grenade "Fire in the hole". Rouge grabs one of the gunmen inside and uses him as a shield from the explosion and she is launched out. She lands on the grass shaken but uninjured. Shadow runs out onto the balcony and sees Konor on a turret on top of one of the armored cars. He fires a grenade up at Shadow. He forms a shield, but the explosion still throws him back. Shadow gets back up and runs through the building following the car, but another explosion throws him out of the window and onto the ground. He struggles to get up "Bark. He's in an AFV heading north".
Konor gives the vial of red liquid to a lion "Take this to the airstrip. We're not gonna outrun them. Lose the truck!". The truck stops and the group runs out "Where are you going to meet us?" "I'm not". As the group runs Bark appears and lands on the truck "I've got four, they're splitting up". Rouge fly's past "I've got the two on the left". She follows them as Bark goes after the other two. Shadow arrived at the truck "They ditched their gear. One of them must have the vial". A sticky bomb suddenly hits his emerald. He throws it upwards, and it explodes away from danger. Konor appears behind him and punches him in the back "There you are, you son of a bitch. I've been waiting for this!". He punches Shadow in the stomach.
Bark flies down in front of his two and quickly beats them both to the ground. He searches for the vial "They don't have it. I'm empty!". Rouge flew and tackled the lion. She kicked him in the ribs and knocks him back. A snake was about to shoot her, but she lobs a basket at him and sweeps his legs knocking him over. She takes his gun and points it at the lion who holds out the glass vial "Drop it! Or I'll drop this". Bark's drone suddenly appears and shoots the lion in the back of the neck. As he falls Rouge rushes forward and catches the vial. She looked up to the drone "Payload secure. Thanks, Bark" "Don't thank me". Rouge shook her head "I'm not thanking that thing" "His name's Barky" "I'm still not thanking it" "He's cute. Go ahead, pet him".
Shadow and Konor were exchanging blows "Come on!". He pins Shadow against a wall "This is for dropping a building on my face". A knife comes out of his arm, but Shadow moves out of the way and breaks the arm off. He kicks Konor in the chest throwing him into a table. Konor gets on his knees and removes his metal mask revealing what was left of his face. Shadow grabs him but he smiles "I think I look pretty good, all things considered" "Who's your buyer?" "You know, she knew you. Your pal, your buddy. Maria, was it?". Shadow angrily pulled him closer "What did you say?" "She remembered you. I was there. She got all weepy about it. Till they put her brain back in the blender. She wanted you to know something. She said, 'Please tell Shadow. When you gotta go, you gotta go'". He grins sadistically "And you're coming with me". He activates a bomb which goes off. Shadow flinches but the blast is contained by Silver who was behind Shadow. Konor screams in pain as Silver not knowing what to do throws Konor upwards. He finally explodes but the blast reaches a nearby building taking multiple floors with him. Silver stares up at it in shock. Shadow watches stunned for a moment before "Bark, we need… We need Fire and Rescue on the south side of the building". Silver falls to his knees horrified.
