Chapter 1: A Interupt Begining
Genson walked confidently toward his office with a bright smile. Genson opened the door to see all his high-ranking officers gathering for the meeting, eyes filled with anticipation. They were trying to be stiff yet vibrate excitement, and he couldn't blame them. He was about to scream on top of his lungs.
Seeing them together in the meeting made it feel like the start of something beautiful, and it was. Genson's secretary Ginny or Gin was eagerly and quickly chatting with CFO Terina. Ginny was the most prominent person to tell her genuine emotion as she wore it on her sleeves.
While Terina was annoyed but did a good job not to be, but with her slight eye-roll and noisily moving her chair away from Ginny, even by a couple of inches, Genson could tell as she looked at him with intense begging, with the CEO shakes his head.
COO Leo was sitting alone, fascinated by the book he was reading. However, Genson could tell his attention wasn't entirely on it since his fingers tap, sometimes in slow motion or sometimes very fast, and his eyes looked around as if expecting a surprise party to begin.
When Genson finally sat in his chair, all eyes were on him, waiting for news. "My fellow colleague," Genson said in a steady but menacing voice.
"For years, Dollar Delivery had been this town's main income. And so we become wealthy, but being rich in Present Hill isn't enough, for our ancestors wanted to be the top dog in the world, but how can we become the top of the food chain now? We lost too many to be bigger than we have on the global scale, but I won't let our ancestors be disappointed as the Genson Killis the 6th. I mean, I can't let my family be gone, so I rot away without ambition to move forward, so no matter what it takes, I ensure Project Magic Apocalypse takes place. We still need more supplies to find the artifacts. But I called since I have a lead to where the location in Present Hills could be. And it is this."
He pulled out a round cage from under the table with little room inside but imprisoned was a small circle of blue light moved around the cage frantically like a cat chasing a laser.
"I won't give you any tidbits about the artifacts!" the light squeak like a mouse. "They gave me a duty to keep them away from your evil hands!" the light said, then sneered at them, though being a ball of light, all of the officers had no idea that happened.
Genson smiled now eerily and held the cage holder tightly. "I been researching you, little tailor, and I know something to force you to tell me where-" But before he could finish his sentence, an explosion came crashing onto a wall he was near to, flinging him. The cage back, the officer quickly gathered toward the CEO, arming themselves with swords and spears with a strange glow from one of the cabinets that were in his office and facing the new arrival. In contrast, the cage was destroyed, leaving only small remains and a lot of ash and The Light lying on the ground. There stood three figures.
A girl with neat auburn short hair like the sunrise and nose curved in almost a triangular shape, piercing dark pink eyes stare at the room, clearly focused on searching for something. Her eyes landed on the light. "It most likely that the thing." she said without thought, pointing at it.
A person with a long-hair straight blond in a ponytail, with fearful green eyes having a light purple shadow on top, one hand holding a third person tightly, she a few inches taller than him, their trembling mouth speak up with slight nervous tone: "How are we going to fight them, they have swords, swords?!"
The third person excitedly waved at the officer with an easy-going smile, messy red hair, and dark purple eyes like the night itself. He politely said: I am sorry to interrupt whatever, and Mami, don't hold my arm that tightly, it hurt, you know, sad to not properly giving our name, this is Mami and Jenny," His hand pointed to the two respectively. "And I am Trim."
The moment he finishes the sentence, Terina runs and plans to stab Trim in the heart, but having her arm around him already, Mami pulls him back before she can. Jenny sprinted toward the light, but before she could get to it, Gin ran and stood in her way, then attempting to slash her leg right off with her spear, but Jenny evaded it, though it did leave a cut that began to spill some blood.
Meanwhile, Leo was taking the CEO outside the office since he could not fight, and Leo was the weakest of them all in combat, though he was above average.
"Wait but the tailor." Genson cried.
"Gin and Terina deal with the attacker and get the light back in the cage, don't worry." assured confidently by Leo. Genson grimaces as he isn't so sure like Leo.
Terina expertly maneuvered to the back of Mami and almost stabbed her on the back but was stopped by her arm as it clinked off, making a rattling sound as it does.
"What?"
Confusion was sprawled onto Terina's face for a brief moment but quickly faded not because she understood what happened but that there was no time to understand what happened. She tried to slash Mami in minor cuts around the body, to wear her down and see her soft spot. "You're not hurting my friend." Trim's hand instantly transformed into a blaster as he started shooting at Terina.
Gin begins wildly moving and attacking with ferocity like a saltwater crocodile, with the intent of killing Jenny. With every move Jenny tried to make forward, Gin would block in a hurricane of slashes. Luckily Jenny was able to dodge most of the attacks, and if she was hit, it was a small cut. However, it was difficult though with her injured legs.
"A little help, please."
"Sorry, Jenny, but we need to deal with her first, Jenny." said Mami
As they were busy, the light saw its opportunity to escape and quietly fly toward the large hole with much speed it could muster.
Maneuvering around Trim's blaster wasn't hard, so Terina still focused her eye on Mami, but unexpectedly Mami latched herself off Trim's arm and moved to Terina, a slight smirk as she kept on running, with fierce she swung her sword to take her head.
"You think whatever you have is going to stop me, kids, but you don't know who you're messing with."
But before she could, Mami changed direction and hit the wall, allowing Trim to shoot his blaster, hitting Terina in the guts as she fell down to the floor.
"We do very much, monster." muttered Mami angrily.
Seeing her co-worker falling to the ground, Gin screamed in rage.
"You will pay for that!."
Her already aggressive attack became triples as fast and wild. Noticing the light sneaking away, Jenny ran back to her friend, but Gin followed. "Jen, dodge." shouted Trim, and he blasted toward Jenny's direction. She managed to dodge, but Gin wasn't so lucky. Her eye widened as she took the blast and fell onto the floor.
"I had mixed feelings of that is just an asleep blast, not a fatal one..." said Jenny. Trim glares at her disapprovingly, while Mami just sighs.
"Come on, Jenny, I know you want to um get payback from them, but our mission isn't to hurt them, it to destroy the artifacts," Mami said kindly, though her eye has a glimmer of temptation at seeing their unconscious body.
"Mami, I know, but…, wait, where the light? Did we lose it?" Everyone remembered their objective in this quest and frantically looked around, but it was gone.
They hear the door start to open. Trim took both girls' hands and headed to the edge of their hole in the office, the girl didn't put up a fight.
"Aw man, it's your fault for losing the light, Jenny." Trim said as all three jumped and disappeared.
