It was a Thursday morning on Earth. Anne woke up with a very sore throat, a runny nose, and a stomach ache. She was about to run to the bathroom to brush her teeth when she realized that she needed to throw up. She went to the toilet and started to puke.

Her mom was just about to check on her so she went to the bathroom as well. "You alright Anne?" she asked.

"No." Anne replied. "I'm sick."

"Poor baby." said Mrs. Boonchuy in sympathy. "Let me have a look at you." She grabbed a thermometer from the kitchen sink and told Anne to sit up and face her.

"Open your mouth." she instructed.

Anne did so and Mrs. Boonchuy placed the thermometer under her tongue.

5 minutes passed and Mrs. Boonchuy took the thermometer out of Anne's mouth and read her temperature.

"100.9. You have a fever." she said. "You need to get some rest."

Anne went back to her room to get some sleep. She sneezed. Luckily a tissue box was on her nightstand. She blew her nose and threw the dirty tissue in the trash.

Mrs. Boonchuy came back and gave Anne some chicken noodle soup and a cup of orange juice.

Anne gorged on her meal and returned the empty bowl and cup to her mom. She went back to sleep, but the smoke detectors went off and woke her up. "My sleep is hampered by the smoke detectors. I need someone to turn them off." she said in frustration.

"I'm sorry Anne." said Mrs. Boonchuy. "The smoke detectors are going off, because the batteries are dead."

After Mr. Boonchuy replaced the batteries in the smoke detectors, Anne can finally sleep in peace, but her throat was starting to bother her even more.

"Mom." she said, "My throat is feeling worse."

"Don't worry Anne." said Mrs. Boonchuy. "I'll have a look at it." She ran to get a small flashlight from the drawer and then returned and told her to sit up and face her once again.

"Open wide and say ahh." she instructed.

Anne opened her mouth really wide and stuck out her tongue as her mom shone a light in her throat.

When she was done, she removed the flashlight. Allowing Anne to close her mouth.

"Your throat has gotten worse." said Mrs. Boonchuy. " You really need to go to sleep. I'll go make sure everything is quiet so that you'll be able to fall asleep." She gave Domino a cat toy so she wouldn't meow too much. She turned off a song that was coming from the living room. And she even gave Anne earmuffs to block out other sounds.

After some time, Anne was able to fall asleep.

The Next Morning

Anne woke up refreshed and happy. Her nose wasn't runny anymore, her throat was no longer hurting, and her stomach was feeling better. "Hey mom," she chirped, "I'm feeling much better."

"I'm so glad to hear that Anne." said Mrs. Boonchuy. "Why don't you go reward yourself for getting a good night sleep."

Anne went to her bedroom and played Mario Kart Tour on her phone while enjoying some nice and warm french toast.
