TW: You'll just have to keep reading. Clara is not the villain, but she is part of the reason Jane needed to do this in the first place. River can't be here because some of these recordings involve her future, meaning it would become fixed if she were to see it happen. Why Sarah isn't here will be explained later on. Well, from what I understand, Miracle Day wasn't that well received, even I could barely stomach it, so it makes sense it was largely ignored.

DCMarvel heroes: We'll be seeing everything from the last half hour of The End of Time through Day of The Doctor. Nothing after Day of The Doctor is canon to this work.

Tom's

Mid-Morning

Donna sat in both, drinking tea as she tried to regain her bearings. Martha was by her side, examining her.

"She's fine," Martha finally declared, looking over at the others as they stood a few feet away. "A little disoriented but fine."

"I'm not disoriented, I'm confused," Donna said, looking up at all of them. "The Doctor, he had to wipe my mind to stop me dying. So how can I remember?"

"Because of this," Jane said as she held up the pocket watch.

"A pocket watch?" Mickey asked in disbelief.

"It's not a pocket watch it's a biodata module. Time Lords use it to become human," Donna explained before frowning. "How do I know that?"

"Because Dad did. I modified it so it could suck all the Time Lord out of you and restore your memories, but you probably retain some Time Lord knowledge," Jane explained as she pocketed the pocket watch. "Shouldn't have any dangerous effects on you, you'll just be a bit smarter than anyone else."

"Mind explaining who you are? The Doctor told me a long time ago that he was the last Time Lord, that his entire family was gone. So who are you?" Jack asked as he eyed Jane suspiciously.

"Because I hadn't been born yet. You're from the future Jack, I assume you've heard of Progenation," Jane said and Jack paled.

"Progenation?" Wilf repeated confused.

"A process of reproduction in which a single parent is both mother and father. It's artificial, a DNA sample is taken and the cells are rearranged into another organism," Martha explained before looking over at Jane. "How are you alive though? We saw you die."

"I did die, for a while. The Progenation machine was designed to make humans, so when they took a DNA sample from Dad; they got a Human-Time Lord hybrid. I don't regenerate like Dad, but I have enough Time Lord in me to heal myself, depending on the severity of the wound," Jane explained.

"How did you know I'm from the future?" Jack asked suspiciously.

"You told me, years from now," Jane said, meeting his gaze without flinching. "After you saved my life."

"Jenny - Jane, whoever you are - why did you bring us all here? Why give me my memories back?" Donna asked as she put down her cup.

"Because Dad is in trouble. And he needs you, all of you," Jane said as she looked around at all of them.

"Why didn't The Doctor come to us himself?" Wilf asked confused and Jane stared at him for a long moment that caused a pit of dread to form in everyone's stomach.

"It's easier just to show you. Come on," Jane said, gesturing for them to follow her.

"How do we know we can trust you?" Jack asked suspiciously.

"You'll have to take a leap of faith, just like Dad took one on you," Jane said as she looked him right in the eye.

For a long moment, it was silent. Then, Jack laughed.

"Okay, I'm convinced. You are definitely his daughter. Lead the way," Jack said, giving in.

Jane nodded before leading them to a door out the back. The group followed her into the back alley behind the pub and saw a familiar blue box parked just outside.

"Who's up for a trip through time?" Jane asked with a grin that reminded Martha and Donna of the first time they met her.

As Jane lead them onto the TARDIS, the group looked around in awe. It was certainly different from the last time they had all been inside.

"I guess The Doctor finally grew out of his grunge phase," Jack joked and Jane smiled tightly. "So where is he?"

"We're going to him now," Jane said as she walked over to the console, putting in the course. "Hang on everyone."

Jane flipped the lever and the TARDIS jolted slightly as it took off. The group of time travelers swayed slightly on their feet before the TARDIS settled.

"I want you to be prepared for what you see out there. It…won't be easy to take in," Jane said as she looked over at them, all mirth now gone.

The time travelers looked at each in bewilderment, wondering what could be so bad as Jane walked over to the TARDIS doors. She opened the doors and walked out, the group following her outside.

It seemed to be a graveyard; there were various headstones in the area. But something was…off. The sky was grey, not like a storm, but literally grey. There tree around them, but they were all bark, no leaves on them and the crass was dark and dead looking. An air of misery seemed to fill the atmosphere.

"Where are we?" Mickey wondered.

"Earth, year 2022," Jane announced, to their shock.

"This is earth? What happened?" Donna asked in disbelief.

"Come on, Dad's just up ahead," Jane said, ignoring Donna's question as she began leading them through the graveyard.

Sensing there was something she wasn't telling them; the time travelers exchanged bewildered glances before following after Jane. She kept walking for a bit until she stopped in front of a grave.

"Why are we stopping? I thought you said The Doctor was up ahead," Wilf pointed out as they reached her.

"He was. And is," Jane said as she looked down at the grave.

Filled with dread, one by one, the time travelers looked down at the grave, staring in horror at the words carved onto it.

In memory of The Doctor

Age 1,275

He saved the world. A lot.

For a moment, they simply stared at the grave in a state of disbelief. Then, once the disbelief began to wear off, Martha put a hand to her face, her shoulders starting to shake with silent sobs. Mickey pulled her into his arms to offer her comfort, although he looked like he was on the verge of breaking down in sobs himself. Donna fell to her knees, staring at the grave in a state of shock as Wilf placed a hand on her shoulder, tears silently falling from his eyes. For once in his life, Jack didn't seem to have the ability to speak, staring at the grave with a mix of emotions, grief and regret biggest among them.

"How…when…" Jack trailed off, not able to get the words out.

"January, 2015 for you," Jane answered. "That was the last time he visited your present. As for how…that's complicated."

"Why…why did you bring us here?" Martha asked, wiping her eyes as she and Mickey turned to Jane.

"To help you understand what's at stake. Dad died, trying to prevent this," Jane said as she looked around at the graveyard. "Every moment in time and space is burning. I need your help to stop it."

For a moment, it was silent. Then, Donna got back to her feet, looking as determined as the day she had joined The Doctor on his travels.

"Tell us what we have to do," Donna said firmly.

After they had returned to the TARDIS, Jane led them into a room with a couch, a love seat, and a chair, all of which were sitting a few feet away from a large flat screen TV.

"To stop this, you need to understand what led to Dad's final moments. You need to understand what happened to Dad since you last saw him," Jane said before gesturing to the TV. "This TV will show you."

"So, you brought us here to watch the telly?" Donna asked in disbelief.

"Basically. Although it's less the Telly and more recordings of Dad's life," Jane said with a shrug.

"Well, at the very least, it'll be interesting," Jack said as he sat down on the end of couch.

"That's one way of putting it," Jane said with a grimace. "You have to understand, you'll see Dad at his lowest, his highest, his most vulnerable. I'm letting you see into his life unfiltered in order to save not just him, but the whole universe. Don't make me regret that."

"We understand. Thank you for trusting us," Wilf said humbly.

And then they all sat down. Mickey and Martha sat next to Jack on the couch while Donna and Wilf took the loveseat. Jane sat down in the chair.

"So how do we turn it on? Is there some kind of remote?" Mickey wondered.

"The TARDIS'll take care of it," Jane said before, seemingly of its own accord, the TV turned on and the first recording started.

I decided it flowed better to split this chapter up from the beginning of the viewing. Next chapter we'll finally get started.

The TARDIS desktop is the one from the second half of series 7.
