Marius exited the room in armor while holding his helmet. Outside he saw his son, Icarus, being surrounded by women in seductive outfit trying to seduce him. After Icarus saw his father he gently squeeze his way out.
"Father. How are you feeling?" said Icarus.
"... I am fine now." said Marius.
"That's good to hear. I'm sorry I have to pull you out of the illusion. I know it must have hurt you."
"I bear no ill towards your action. You did what you have to do. And I am glad you returned."
"I never left."
Marius nodded at Icarus, then from the corner of his eyes he saw some of the women starting eyeing him lustfully.
"Where are we?"
"We're in an airship. Their leader is the Whip Hero and an associate of Vortiger. He wanted to see you once you recover."
"Take me to him."
And with that, Icarus turned around and Marius followed him to meet the Whip Hero. They walked pass the group of women who were still eyeing on them and started following them behind.
"Do you trust this people?"
"No, not the slightest. But Mercy suggested we look for his aid."
"And what happened to my armies?"
"All of them were captured and executed by the king's orders. Only Henri and Mercy escaped."
They then met up with Henri and Mercy who were waiting for them.
"Feeling better, centurion?" said Mercy.
"Yes." said Marius.
"Glad you're not stuck in dreamland anymore." said Henri.
"Which reminds me." said Mercy, "When the king ordered your execution the Spear Hero requested that you must be imprisoned instead with the illusion spell."
"Why?"
"I wished I knew but spying on Motoyasu was too risky."
"But can you still track them?"
"It may be difficult but not impossible."
"Good."
"Now then." said Henri, "Shall we meet our savior?"
"Oh, and I hope you don't mind reuniting with an oldassociate of yours?" said Mercy
All four of them walked through the hallway until they reached a large chamber with a wall of glass showing the night sky high above the ground. There on the center was a blonde haired man sitting on his throne. He wore clothes that were unusual to Marius and a red bandana on his head.
Then, a women with eyepatch on her left eye appeared from behind the throne. She wore a chinese clothing with a cutlass and a flintlock pistol on her belt.
"Bou Yin." said Marius.
"We meet again, Centurion." said Bou Yin.
"You know him?" said the blonde man.
"Oh, I do. He made me a very rich outlander. Warlord of the Blackstone Legion."
"I am no longer a Blackstone." Marius exclaimed, "Nor am I a warlord."
"Yet you have such a fearsome reputation." the blonde man stood up and walked towards Marius, "You led a small army of warriors to takeover Siltvelt and succeed! But you left the country in ashes in pursuit for the Spear Hero."
The blonde man presented his hand for a shake, "The name is Takt Alsahon Faubrey. Be sure to remember that name."
"Do it." Mercy whispered.
And Marius grabbed hold of Takt's hand and the two shook hands.
"And you are?" said Takt.
"Marius."
"Marius." Takt let go of Marius's hand. "You know, I don't usually take men onboard on my airship. I usually kill the men and set the women free from their grasp."
"Then why help us?"
Takt smirks. And suddenly, all of Takt's female forces started aiming their firearms at them.
"You killed Vortiger after he helped you. What makes you think I will let you do the same to me?"
Takt reach his hand out for Mercy, "Come. Set yourself free from the backstabber and join my harem."
Mercy pulled out her crossbow and aimed at Takt, "I'll pass."
Bou Yin drew her flintlock and aimed at Mercy. Icarus readied his shield and wings to protect his father while Henri slowly went behind him. While Marius stood still with his eyes locked onto Takt.
"This is your doing." Marius whispered.
"I don't know he's going to act like this." whispered Mercy.
"I'm not getting out of this airship dead nor am I gonna wear women's clothes. I got an idea." Henri then steps out towards Takt, "Oh great and brave Whip Hero. Perhaps a display of your wonderful talents could win her heart."
"What are you doing!" said Marius.
Henri turned his head, "Trust me, friend. It'll work."
"If this fails, I'm killing you." said Mercy.
"Just trust me." Henri approached Takt with his arm spread, "I suggest a duel between you and the warlord rather than an execution. Show us your incredible might before you execute us."
Takt chuckled, "Well, it'll be a waste to kill you like that. It's been awhile since I faced a worthy opponent."
Takt slid his hands into his jacket then pulled out a whip and pointed it at Marius, "I accept your the challenge! For the lady's hand!"
"You better win this." Mercy whispered at Marius.
Henri pulled out his sword and handed it to Marius. As Marius's touches the weapon, he felt the familiar sensation inside that he haven't felt since the Time Reversal.
"Knock' em dead." said Henri with a smirk on his face.
All three of Marius's companions walked away to make room for the duel as Marius readied himself to fight the Whip Hero. Marius eye's fixated at Takt as he waited for the right time to attack.
Takt looked as if he's no taking the duel seriously but he too waited for the right opportunity while being filled with overconfidence. Marius slowly approaches him and Takt gets into fighting stance.
After Marius was close enough, he thrust his sword and Takt dodge to the side. Marius then swung at Takt who also dodge the attack. Then he struck Marius's expose arm with his whip and drew first blood. Marius recoiled and steps back.
"You're too slow, old man! Keep up!" Takt taunted.
As Marius tries to move in for an attack, Takt launched another whip attack which stopped Marius at his track.
"What's the matter? Afraid of whips?"
Marius groaned. He continued closing in, shielding his face with his left arm while Takt unleashed a barrage of whip strike. Takt accurately struck every vulnerable spot on Marius, leaving behind torn clothes and bleeding wound.
Once Marius got close enough, the whip struck Marius's right arm as he was about to swung it. Takt pulled Marius's arm closer and backhanded Marius's face. Marius retaliated by punching Takt's face. Marius then grabbed Takt's collar and headbutted his face.
Then, Marius arms were pulled closer to his body. He looked down and saw the whip as wrapped around his body, binding him completely.
"I gotta say, you're quite persistent." Takt wiped the blood off his nose, "But that won't save you now. Time to end this!"
The whip tighten around Marius, crushing the armor and the flesh within it. Marius let out a loud howl as he endured the crushing pain and tried to broke free. As Marius was slowly being squeezed to death, he felt flames inside him slowly returning.
Marius concentrated, filling himself with rage and the desire for vengeance. Once the flames was strong enough, Marius unleashed the flames for the first time since the Time Reversal. With his new strength Marius freed himself from the binding whip after it got weakened by the flames.
Marius's eye then locked into Takt and he charged at him with pure savagery. Frozen in shocked, Takt took a powerful punch from the abdomen and was sent flying to his throne, almost breaking it in two. As Takt was still disoriented from the blow, Marius charged in and kicked him so hard Takt went through the already broken throne and was thrown away almost hitting the glass.
Takt groaned in pain and tried to get up, "Kill him!"
All of Takt's forces started closing in and aimed at Marius but they were stopped by Bou Yin who signal them to cease.
"What are you doing?!" said Takt.
"Protecting the sanctity of a duel." said Bou Yin, "It ends only when one of you is dead."
"What?! Can't you see he's trying to kill me!"
Takt heard footsteps closing on him. He turned his head to see the flaming Marius approaching him. Takt quickly got on his feet and threw a punch at Marius. Marius caught his fist, twisting it to the side and push kicked Takt away. Takt hit the glass behind him, causing it to crack from the impact. Marius grabbed Takt's neck and lifted him off the floor.
Takt tried desperately to free himself as Marius stared at him with eyes full of rage. Takt shook his head, begging at Marius as he tried to form a word but his throat was under Marius's grip. With no mercy left in him, Marius pulled Takt back then threw him through the glass. Takt's scream was heard by everyone and it disappeared as Takt plunged to his death.
Marius stared into the moving ground beneath the airship. The cold strong wind hits him and blowing the flames. He looked at his hands to observed the flames as it slowly dissipated. He turned around to see all of Takt's female forces in completely shock, except for Bou Yin who walked toward him.
"We are at your service, Centurion." said Bou Yin.
"That's my boy." Henri whispered, but Icarus could hear him.
"You wanted this, don't you?" said Icarus.
"How do you think we made it this far? All of us play a part here. So I did mine."
The next day, the airship hovered near a spot deep within the woods and away from any country. There, Marius sat at the damaged throne waiting for news from his trusted spy, Mercy, and his son, Icarus, while his female soldiers stood guard.
"You know, we should really try fixing up this place up." said Henri, "Especially the huge Whip Hero sized hole on the glass."
"That is not necessary. Once we've reached my goal, it will not matter." said Marius.
"I get it. Everything will just go back to where it is. And everyone you killed so far will return to life."
"Indeed." Marius readjusted himself, "Tell me, how are you still with us?"
"I'm an adventurer, remember? Besides, I still owe you for helping me escaped the first time we met."
"I see... You have been loyal throughout my mission."
"I'm touched. Glad I could be of service."
"Perhaps I will try to find you once this is all over. We could always use someone of your skills."
"I'm honored. But that won't be necessary, my friend."
"Why is that?"
"My lord." came one of the female soldier, bowing before Marius, "Our spies have returned."
Marius got up to see Mercy and Icarus approaching him.
"Report." said Marius.
"Motoyasu and his companions are currently helping Siltvelt to recover from our last attack. Their forces have since grew in numbers and strength but due to the death of the previous leader they have put the Shield Hero in temporary leadership", said Icarus, "They also have the second princess with them. She joined them willingly."
"And what of Melromarc?"
"Melromarc is in complete turmoil." said Mercy, "A revolutionary army have formed against the current government. Shield Hero worshippers were captured by knights and executed to curb the rebellion but that only worsen the situation."
"And what of The Order? Are they doing something about this?"
"I didn't see them getting involved in the crisis. They are currently in silence."
"Silvelt is recovering from ruins while Melromarc is destroying itself." said Marius as he thought of a plan, "We could use it as our advantage."
"Centurion." said Bou Yin as she walked pass between Mercy and Icarus, "We have a visitor. He's really eager to see you."
"Warlord! I seek your audience!" Itsuki shouted from the top of his lungs.
The female forces surrounded the Bow Hero's party with their weapons aimed at them.
"I know you are after the Spear Hero! So do I!"
"And what can you offer, Bowman!" said Marius.
"My bow and my strength!"
"I am not interested in your games! Now leave!" Marius turned around.
Frustrated, Itsuki raised his bow and aimed at Marius, "If you do not help me then I will have to take you down myself!"
Mercy drew her crossbow and aimed at Itsuki. Icarus raised his shield to protect his father. Meanwhile, Henri stepped aside and waited for the onslaught. Upon hearing Itsuki's poor choice of words, Marius turned around to look at Itsuki before walking towards him. He walked pass his forces and was close enough to Itsuki as the tip of his arrow was several inches away from him, and all of Itsuki's companions started backing away.
Itsuki's boldness suddenly changed to fear from the sight of a man who was not afraid of his threats. The Bow Hero immediately mustered up his remaining courage to face Marius. And in the blink of an eye, Marius grabbed Itsuki's left arm and punched his abdomen. Itsuki fell on his knees as the painful blow stunted him.
"Leave, boy. Spear Hero's head is mine to take." said Marius.
"No... I'm only after the Shield Hero. He as brainwashed too many people..." said Itsuki.
"And you believe such lies."
"Not lies! It's the truth!"
"And why should lend my aid to someone like you."
Itsuki's slowly got up as he endured the pain, "The Shield Hero is under the Spear Hero's protection. I can't get closer to him without the other getting in my way."
"So you came to me."
"I saw you using the Shield Hero to get to lure him out. If we somehow able to separate the two, I can finally brought the Shield Hero to justice. And you can have the Spear Hero and do whatever you want with him."
"Then how do I get his attention?"
One of Itsuki's companions removed a cover and showed a crate containing eggs.
"Eggs?" said Marius.
"Not just eggs. Filolial eggs. One hundred of them. They were suppose to be delivered to the Spear Hero but I managed to intercept it. Seems he's too obsess in getting more filolials." said Itsuki.
"So all we have to do is have an omelette party to piss him off?" said Henri.
"Father, you don't think about killing these eggs?" said Icarus, "One of them could be mother."
Itsuki and his companions gave Icarus a weird look.
"No. But we will use them against him." said Marius.
"So, noomelette party?" said Henri.
"No."
"Before we left Melromarc, the armies were getting ready to march to Siltvelt. With the Shield Hero as the leader of the demi-humans I could catch him off guard." said Itsuki.
"Then we will go with your plan, Bowman. But know this." Marius glared at Itsuki, "Betray me and I will have your head."
"W-Won't happen, sir." Itsuki shook his head to regain some bravery, "Just make sure you kept your end of the bargain."
Itsuki turned to his party and they all left, leaving the crate of eggs with Marius.
Marius sat at his throne with the eggs beside him as he waited for Mercy, who he ordered to sent the message to Motoyasu. He turned his head to see the eggs and memories of his life in Rock Valley soon flooded his head. Even when they were about to face the Wave, everything was peaceful with his family and the community, and even amongst the other three heroes. But that was before Naofumi's betrayal.
He gently picked up one of the eggs with care, wanting to again feel the feeling of waiting for his son to hatch.
"Father?" said a familiar voice.
Marius turned his head and saw Icarus, "My son."
"I'm... Just checking to see if the eggs are okay."
"They are safe with me."
"I hope Henri didn't try to take one. He's really keen on eating them."
"I will make sure he does not." Marius then returned his gaze at the egg he was holding, "You said one of them could be her."
"Might be. But we can't be sure about it."
Marius suddenly has the urged to raise the filolial eggs, hoping he will find Filo. Then, he realized doing so makes him no different then Motoyasu.
"Father, you're not thinking about raising them, are you?"
"No. Your mother was born under the Shield Hero's care. But the Spearman have prevented it from happening."
"Yet, he too tried to do the same thing."
"He will fail... Tell me, once we restore time. What will happen to you?"
"That's one thing we will find out. One thing I do know is that I cannot be reborn."
"Meaning?"
"That the next child you and mother have will not be me. I was taken to Olympus and hatched there. The Time Reversal could affect me but not my birth."
"I see." Marius sighed in regret.
"Father? Is something wrong?"
"Nothing. I just wish I could see your birth and raise you."
"But atleast I have met you. And..." Icarus pulled a folded paper out and presented at Marius, "When I was spying on Motoyasu, he dropped this."
Marius gently placed the egg back at the crate and took the paper. He unfolded it as was surprised to see an accurate drawing picture of Filo. There was quite in the air and Marius's eyes started watering. He began cherished the drawn face of his lover as if she was still alive.
"That's her, is it?"
"Yes."
"She's beautiful."
"She is... And I missed her so much."
"I couldn't wait to see her."
Marius got up and wrapped his arms around Icarus, "And you will, my son... You will."
