THAW: The point isn't that they had a right to know, the point is that it added fuel to the fire. When you're trying to broker peace, that is not the time to mention that humans wiped out another colony of Silurians. Going to have to disagree. The Doctor appointed two women with no political power to broker a deal with the Silurians, knowing that world leaders would not be inclined to honor it and most likely wouldn't. I can think of quite a few countries who would directly oppose this deal off the top of my head. At best, this results in the biggest political disaster in history. At worst, it ignites the war The Doctor was trying to stop. No matter how you look at it, The Doctor's actions are nothing short of idiotic.

Jane led the others into the dining room and they all sat down numbly, seeing the TARDIS had once again put together a wide arrangement of foods for them. But none of them were feeling very hungry right now.

"So who wants to go first?" Jane asked after a full minute of no speaking.

"The TARDIS. That's what causes the cracks in time," Martha said and Jane nodded.

"Yeah."

"How?" Donna asked and Jane smiled tightly.

"There is still a lot you need to understand before we get to that point. I wouldn't even know where to begin to tell you the truth," Jane admitted. "But it'll make sense in the end, I promise."

"I'm sorry, but that's not good enough for me anymore," Mickey snapped. "I've been going a lot on pure faith, but I'm fresh out. You have to give me something to go on."

"Mickey-" Martha started only to be cut off.

"You're right," Jane said, taking them all aback. "You have no real reason to trust me, and I know you've put aside whatever doubts you may have about me for my Dad. Thank you. So I'll give you a boon, as they say. I can't tell you the how or why yet, I'm sorry. But you'll find out the who at the end of this set."

"We'll find out who's responsible for the TARDIS exploding?" Wilf asked for clarification and Jane nodded.

"It really won't make sense until the end of all this, but yeah, you'll find out who," Jane promised before looking back at Mickey. "Is that good enough for now?"

Mickey was far from satisfied. There was still so much more he wanted to know, that he needed to know. But the look Martha was giving him was all but pleading with him to drop it right now. So, reluctantly, he nodded.

"For now," Mickey grumbled and Jane nodded in understanding.

"Rory. He really…" Donna trailed off and Jane nodded with a grimace.

"Yeah. That was hard to watch my first time to. Can't imagine it was any easier for you all," Jane said and a moment of silence passed between them.

"The way you talk about him, it doesn't seem like this is the last time we see Rory," Jack noted and the other past viewers looked at him in surprise. "Am I right?"

"Dead doesn't always mean when gone when it comes to Dad," Jane said evasively.

"But he didn't just die, he was never born. Even Amy didn't remember him," Martha pointed out and Jane weighed the pros and cons of saying too much for a moment before deciding it wouldn't hurt.

"That's true, but even Time Energy has its limits. There was one tether so powerful even the cracks weren't able to wipe it out completely," Jane explained.

Jack was silently as he thought, remembering how Amy had seemed to think she missed someone at the end of the last recording. Could it be?

"So Rory will be back," Wilf said hopefully and Jane nodded.

"Yeah, a lot sooner than you think. It's complicated," Jane said lamely.

"It always is when it comes to The Doctor," Martha said dryly with a slight laugh.

"So I guess we eat and then we get back to the recordings then," Jack noted as Jane checked her watch.

"Those last ones took a lot longer than I expected. So, we'll eat, watch two more and then pick up in the morning. Sound good to everyone?" Jane asked.

"Don't have any complaints," Donna shrugged as they realized how drained the last recording had left them.

And so everyone began filling their plates, starting to eat so they could get back to the recordings.

Not a very good break chapter I know, but I hope you guys enjoyed it anyway.

Onto the next chapter.
