"Expelliarmus!"
"Petrificus Totalus!"
"Locomotar Mortis."
No matter what spells Harry Potter and Ron Weasley cast, every single one of them was blocked by Draco Malfoy. The sly Slytherin sneered at the two Griffindors who were trying in vain to foil the trouble he was causing in Hogwarts. He deflected each one of their charms before any of them had a chance to take affect on him.
"It's no use, Potter!" he jeered. "You and your little red-headed sidekick can't stop me! I'm a far more powerful wizard than the pathetic pair of you! No spell you cast my way can take me down!"
Intense glares crossed the faces of Harry and Ron, filled with all their hatred for Malfoy. They raised their arms again, about to cast more spells in their efforts to attack him. Before they could bring their wands down, however, they were stopped as a pair of hands grabbed their wrists.
"Harry! Ron! What are you two doing?"
The two Griffindor boys exchanged irate looks. They knew at once who it was that had stopped them. They recognised that bossy tone far too well. They turned slowly around to face the bushy-haired girl that stood behind them, frowning at the lair as she clutched their wrists firmly in her hands.
"We've got to stop Malfoy, Hermione!" Harry explained. "He's up to no good again!"
"Yeah, quit taking control like you always do!" Ron huffed. "Get your wand out and help us!"
"There will be no need for wands!" Hermione declared. "Put yours down, boys! Leave this to me!
Letting go of her mcomrades' wrists, the lone girl her way up towards the trouble-maker in the room. She made no effort to arm herself with her wand. The cocky expression Malfoy was giving her didn't worry Hermione at all. She was feeling extremely confident that she could take on their arch foe out by herself.
That filthy little mudblood thinks she can beat me without a wand? Malfoy thought, crossing his arms with a sneer as he watched the muggle-born approach him. This I have to see.
Hermione came to a stop right in front of Malfoy. She stood before him with a determined gaze, her eyes narrowing at the Slytherin.
"What are you gonna do to me then, Granger?" Malfoy asked her, grinning smugly. "C'mon! Show me what you're made of!"
Hermione said nothing. She just wordlessly stood her ground in front of the arrogant blonde - before suddenly lashing out to strike him in the face with her fist.
"ARGH!" Malfoy groaned in agony. He clutched his face as his nose started to bleed, blood dripping down onto his robes.
Both Harry and Ron's faces filled with surprise. The Griffindor boys were astonished by how their smart female friend had managed to take out their rival - without relying on any magic or intellect.
"My nose broken by a mudblood!" Malfoy mumbled behind his hand as he continued to press it to his face before quickly running off in the direction of the hospital wing. "My father will hear about this!"
Hermione waited until Malfoy had disappeared from the room. Then she turned slowly towards her two best friends. Her face was glowing with pride.
"That's why I don't need my wand to beat Malfoy," she told them as she punched the air. "It's all in the fist."
"Way to go, Hermione!" Harry cheered. "You sure showed him!"
Ron said nothing. He just rolled his eyes as he gave a sour, silky look. The redhead made no effort to show gratitude to their smart, brunette-haired friend for coming to their rescue as usual.
He could tell all easily that now that Hermione had saved the day again, neither he nor Harry were ever going to hear the end of it from her.
The end.
