And here is Chapter 09 of the Synchro Arc, and the last frequent chapter as the school year is about to begin. I promise to try and get a new chapter out as soon as I can. Since, I'm a Co-Teacher, I don't have that much work than the head teacher, but I'll probably still get swamped with work. I will try to get one chapter a week, like Saturday Night TV.

Now, let's get on to the chapter.

Chapter 09: Duel King vs Dragon Soldier

Tops Area – Council Building

"I'll reiterate, sir! Every single person here is affiliated to the Primary Suspect, Yuya Sakaki, who not only committed harm to the members of the Tops, but also released the prisoners of the Underground Labor Facility. Furthermore, he is suspected of aligning with the Black Rose Witch." Roget spoke to the Council.

"Aki isn't a witch!" Crow shouted. "She's a hero of the Commons!"

"Black Rose Witch?" Ruri questioned.

"A couple years ago, Senator Izayoi launched a campaign that would have passed a tax for the Tops pay for all the burdens put on the Commons." Rin answered. "Security raided the campaign and tried to arrest the Commons, but the Senator's daughter, Aki, used her Psychic powers to make her dragon become real and saved them."

"And to punish the Senator, that bastard." Crow jerked his head at Roget. "Deported Aki to the Commons and separated her from her family."

"Unforgivable!" Gongenzaka glared at Roget.

"All the fool had to do was follow the rules." Roget turned to them. "And had you followed the rules of Security and surrendered yourselves, you would have received a lighter sentence."

"But you attacked us! Ever since we got to this dimension, you haven't given us a chance to explain ourselves!" Yuzu argued.

"Dimension? Did you hear that? She said ever since we got to this dimension. What on earth could that possibly mean?" Roget asked.

"It means there are other dimensions with their own cities and their own rules. Seriously, did our non-Synchro Summons not give it away?!" Sawatari insulted.

"Oh, I see. So those summons that you performed, Fusion, Xyz and Pendulum, those are proof that you're from another dimension. Then I can safely assume that Yuya Sakaki is from another dimension, along with three of the other Dimension Guardians." Roget looked at their direction.

"Oh, please. That's a bunch of bull—" Shinji was gonna say it was stupid.

"I believe them." Crow interrupted.

"Are you serious, Crow?" Damon asked.

"They could be spies for the Tops." Tony pointed out.

"These guys took care of Rin, that alone is enough for me to believe them." Crow said. "And those Dimension Guardians tried to help us, they wouldn't risk their own lives for us if they were with the Tops."

"Well, one of them was a Former Top, right, Rua Godwin?" Roget looked at Rua, who tensed up.

"I would appreciate if you did not look at my grandson." Godwin stood protectively in front of Rua.

"And you can quit playing the dumb card, Roget." Asuka spoke. "You already know about the dimensions, after all, you're from the same one as me and Serena."

"Same as me, then she's…" Serena looked at Asuka.

"From Fusion…" Shun glared at her.

"I honestly have no idea what you're talking about." Roget feigned ignorance. "I have spent my life bringing Real Solid Vision to Neo Domino and thanks to it, our Duels have been nothing short but entertainment for both the Tops and the Commons."

"We are getting off track." White Taki spoke. "From what you all have said, it seems that your stories do match with what your leader told us. Come on in."

The door to the council room opened to reveal Reiji, Reira and Tsukikage. "That's right. And we're not here to start mayhem." Reiji spoke. "We, Lancers, came to this Synchro Dimension in order to form alliance and protect you from the coming invasion from Academia in the Dimensional War."

"Yeah, Lancers does not sound like a group that would protect." Jonouchi spoke. "You're still just that naïve brat from long ago."

"It's a pleasure to see you again, Mr. Katsuya Jonouchi." Reiji fixed his glasses.

Jonouchi walked up to Reiji. "Yuya told me about what you did back in Standard. I'm gonna make this clear. I don't trust you and I don't like you. So, if you do anything that hurts Yuya or any of these guys." Jonouchi then punched Reiji in the stomach, making him cough. "And the next one will be in the face."

"It seems there's a lot of distrust." Roget observed. "I should take advantage of this."

"I would ask that you do not perform actions like that while we are present." Gael said.

"Especially since you will be working together." Gray added.

"What?" Rio asked.

"Working together?" Dennis asked.

"Both the Lancers…" Azul said.

"…and the Dimension Guardians will work together from this point onward." Bordeaux added. "Isn't that right, Chairman?"

"Yes." White Take nodded. "If you wish to prove yourselves as allies, then you must participate in the biggest tournament of the year."

"You mean…" Rua's eyes widened.

"Yes, the Friendship Cup." White Taki confirmed. "And the King, Jack Atlas has made a change to the tournament that will make it the perfect test to showcase your power."

"Jack, did?" Crow asked.

"Yes, the King wanted to emphasize the Friendship Cup by turning it into a Team Survival Duel." White Taki explained.

"Team Survival Duel?" Rin asked.

"A team of at least 15 members would be allowed to participate in the tournament. Every round, the teams will select 3 of their members to Duel against the opposing teams in Riding Duels." Gael explained.

"Each Duelist will start at 4000 Life Points. If a Duelist loses, if they still have cards remaining on the field, they will be passed on to the next Duelist." Gray continued. "This continues until all three Duelists on one side are defeated."

"However, since we only want the best, the Auto-Pilot will be turned off. In other words, you must ride your D-Wheel with your own skills." Azul pointed out.

"But we've never ridden a D-Wheel before!" Yuzu pointed out.

"That's why you have a week before the official tournament, isn't that right, Chairman?" Bordeaux asked.

"Yes." White Taki nodded. "Use that week to practice on the D-Wheels and learn of the Riding Duels. Though fair warning, your usual strategies won't work, especially if you rely on your regular Magic Cards."

"What do you mean?" Yuzu asked.

"While you are still able to use your regular Magic Cards in a Riding Duel, you cannot activate them without spending one Speed Counter." Crow explained. "Meaning if you have 3 Speed Counters, you can only use 3 Magic Cards."

"That's why most Riding Duelists create separate decks using Speed Spells." Rua added.

"Depending on how far you go in the tournament, we will determine whether or not you are considered to be allied with." Gael said.

"Now currently, the Lancers are 11 along with the Dimension Guardians of 5. That makes it 16." Gray counted.

"To make it even out, only 8 of the Lancers may participate in the Friendship Cup, while the Dimension Guardians must find two members to join them." Azul said.

"Count me as one of them." Crow said. "I'll participate in the Friendship Cup as a Guardian."

"Crow?!" Damon got angry.

"We agreed never to take part in this tournament!" Tony argued. "This is nothing but a show for the Tops!"

"How could you go against us, Crow?! I thought we were friends." Shinji argued.

"Even so, I won't turn my back on family!" Crow stood by his decision and looked at Rin, who smiled.

"Are you okay with this?" White Taki asked the Guardians.

"That's fine." Jonouchi said.

"Then we just need one more." Rio said.

"So, you really gonna let them participate?" Roget asked. "Fine then, I'll allow them to participate, but first, I have a request."

"What is it?" Gray asked.

"Every year, we have an exhibition match that features the strength of the Duel King. So, how about we have the leader of the Lancers be the opponent for the King." Roget pointed at Reiji. "Since the leader reflects the strength of his followers, it would be perfect to get a sneak peak of their potential."

"Do you approve of this, Chairman?" Bordeaux asked.

"Yes." White Taki nodded. "Mr. Mayor, could you contact Jack Atlas, please?"

"Yes sir." Godwin bowed and pulled out his phone and a screen opened to reveal a short, effeminate man who generally resembles a clown. He wears red lipstick, has two red lines running vertically over his eyes, and spiky purple hair. He dresses in a red coat with a black collar and gold trim, underneath a white shirt with gold lining that has an open collar. "Yeager, please put the Duel King on."

"Uh, yes, about that, sir." Yeager seemed nervous. "The King left the Tops area without notifying anyone. I managed to trail him and found him but…"

"But?" Godwin asked.

"I think you should see it yourself." Yeager had the screen show Jack facing Yuya and Aki in front of an orphanage.

"Yuya!" Yuzu and Jonouchi shouted.

"Thank goodness." Asuka made a sigh of relief.

"Jack…and Aki." Crow uttered.

"Oh, this seems interesting." White Taki smiled. "Keep the video rolling."

"Y-Yes, sir." Yeager answered as he kept recording.

Commons Area – Martha's New Orphanage (A few moments ago)

Aki drove up to an orphanage with Yuya still riding behind her as he was still recovering from his wound from Raider. "What's this place?" Yuya asked.

"I come here to help out from time to time. The woman who runs this orphanage is really nice. She helped me out whenever I had trouble in the Commons." Aki explained.

"Hey, it's Aki!"

"Aki!"

"Welcome back!"

Three kids, two boys and one girl ran up to Aki. One of the boys had purple blue eyes and spikey green hair in which the ends are fixed in a small ponytail. He has green eyebrows and fair skin and he wore a perse shirt with a red vest.

The other boy was the shortest of the group and he had teal hair and a pink nose and cheeks to emphasize his youth. He wears a turquoise shirt, blue overalls with a patch on each knee, tan shoes without socks, and a straw hat with a white pom-pom and pink strands.

The girl had blue eyes and puffy burgundy hair arranged in two bunches on each side of her head. She wears a white long shirt under a dark pink vest with brown lines, and studded earrings.

"Hey, Frank, Tanner, Amanda." Aki smiled as the kids hugged her. "Have you been good?"

"Yeah, we've been very good." Amanda nodded.

"I see. Is Crow here, I need to ask him something?" Aki asked.

"Security charged him with another ridiculous crime!" Frank said with anger.

"I see." Aki patted their heads. "Don't worry, Crow will get out before you know it. He always does."

"You're right." Tanner nodded.

"Oh, that's right. I want you to meet a new friend." Aki gestured to Yuya. "This is Yuya Sakaki."

"Oh, you're the one that defeated the Duel Chaser!" Frank went up to Yuya.

"And you beat that giant robot!" Tanner said excitingly.

"That was so cool!" Amanda praised.

"The Machine Emperor was a team effort." Yuya said nervously as the kids crowded him.

"Oh, that's right. Aki, our flowers bloomed." Amanda said.

"Really? Can I see them?" Aki asked.

"Yeah!" Frank nodded.

"This way!" Tanner grabbed Aki's hand and the kids pulled her away while Aki waved away at Yuya as she laughed.

"Despite everything she has gone through, as well as what the Tops has branded her, Aki is a blessing to the Commons." Yuya turned to see Martha. "Everyone she encounters follows in her example to make life here a little brighter. Including me."

"Who are you?" Yuya asked.

"I'm Martha, the caretaker of this orphanage. And you're the infamous Yuya Sakaki." Martha said. "The kids have taken a liking to you."

"I'm not sure that's a good thing." Yuya rubbed the back of his head. "I mean, beating up the law enforcement of Neo Domino."

"Well, if you want to make a statement, you have to break a few rules. Jack defied the laws of the City and now he's the Duel King of Neo Domino." Martha said.

"What do you mean?" Yuya asked.

"When the Friendship Cup was first launched, nobody believed a Common could win the whole thing and everyone betted on a Tops Duelist to be the champion. But Jack defied the odds and he defeated even Elite Tops Duelists like they were just amateurs." Martha explained. "Jack is the proof that anyone can make a difference."

"You seem to know Jack well." Yuya noticed the tone of Martha's voice.

"I practically raised him." Martha said. "Jack was a resident in this orphanage until he moved out on his own when he was 17. I am so proud of the man he has become, it's a shame that others don't seem him that way."

"What do you mean?" Yuya asked.

"Oh, it's almost time for lunch, come on." Martha grabbed Yuya's arm and pulled him inside.

"H-Hey?" Yuya was alarmed.

"Now, we have multiple mouths to feed so we need to make a lot. Roll up your sleeves, grab and apron and let's get started." Martha declared as she gave Yuya an apron.

"U-Uh, okay…" Yuya wasn't sure what was happening. Yuya put on the apron and saw a heart on it. "D-Don't you have one that's not feminine?"

"It's fine, it's fine." Martha tied Yuya's head with a bandanna.

"Ow!" Yuya yelped as she tied it too tight.

Yuya started chopping some vegetables. "Too big, the children's mouths are small." Martha bopped Yuya on the head with a ladle.

"I hear ya." Yuya groaned.

Yuya hovered his hand over the pot and retracted it as it felt the steam. "Done…" Yuya uttered.

"Not yet." Martha bopped Yuya with the ladle again. "Just because the recipe ends, doesn't mean you can't do a little bit more."

"Ugh…then what about this." Yuya added paprika.

"Why am I cleaning bathrooms now?" Yuya asked as he brushed a urinal.

"Stop complaining." Martha hit Yuya on the head with a plunger. "Now on to the next task."

Yuya sighed and followed Martha before he noticed a picture on top of the fireplace. It was a regular picture of Martha and some children, but one green-haired girl caught his eye. "Rin?"

"Come on, we don't have all day!" Martha pulled Yuya by his ear.

Yuya plopped on the couch and let out an exhausted sigh. "Okay, I cooked lunch, I cleaned the bathrooms, I pulled the weeds and I swept the chimney! Anything else I can do for you, your majesty?"

"It's frustrating right?" Martha smiled. "Having others ask you to fix their own problems without them having to raise a finger?"

"Of course, it is!" Yuya stood up in anger. "You're not sick or anything, heck you didn't even help me!"

"That's exactly what Jack felt when he became King." Martha said.

"Huh?" Yuya was confused.

"When Jack became King, almost every person in the Commons kept begging him to make life easier for them." Martha explained. "They were all hoping that Jack could use his power as King to force the City to make the Commons in charge of the Tops."

"And while Jack did try at first, the Commons kept asking for more. They got greedier and were starting to behave like the Tops. So, Jack stopped helping the Commons and while some still admire him, most of them consider Jack a traitor." Martha said.

"He wanted them to follow his example and climb their way to the top with their own power." Yuya realized.

"I'm sorry that I put you through that. But if you want to change Neo Domino City, you needed to learn about the real Jack." Martha apologized. "Everyone has their own opinions of him, but as the one who raised him as a child, I know what his true thoughts and feelings are."

"So, Jack is the key to changing the City. And the only way to reach him is to win the Friendship Cup. I have to get back to the others as soon as possible." Yuya thought.

"We're back!" Aki and the kids entered.

"You came at a good time, lunch is ready. Everyone, go wash your hands." Martha instructed.

"Yes!" Frank, Amanda and Tanner ran to the kitchen.

"Are you okay? You look exhausted." Aki looked at Yuya.

"He just went the initiation." Martha smiled.

"Oh…" Aki nervously chuckled. "I'm sorry, I guess I should've warned you that Martha likes to put new people to work. She did the same thing to me."

"It's fine, I learned a lot." Yuya smiled.

"Don't worry, Aki. We left some chores for you to do." Martha smiled. "You can serve the kids."

"A-Alright." Aki walked to the kitchen.

"Geez, you don't mess around." Yuya sweat dropped.

"If you ever need an ear to listen to, you can come to me. You can talk to me about anything. Even Rin." Martha said.

"You know Rin?" Yuya asked.

"And apparently you do as well." Martha smiled. "Rin is the daughter I've never had, so if you hurt her, you'll have to answer to me."

"U-Understood." Yuya felt a chilling aura coming from Martha.

Martha's Orphanage – Present Time

"Thanks for your help." Martha thanked both Yuya and Aki. "You're welcome here anytime."

"Thank you, Martha." Aki bowed in respect.

"Martha…" Yuya spoke. "I'll…bring Rin next time."

"I'll hold you to that." Martha smiled.

"So, where to next?" Aki asked.

"We're actually close to the Guardians' hideout. Maybe the others got back there." Yuya said. "We can…"

A loud engine drowned out Yuya's voice and driving up to them was a D-Wheel that was a monowheel that was white with a blue and yellow engine and an A marked on the sides.

"Oh, this is a surprise." Martha said. The man on the D-Wheel stood up and removed his helmet to reveal his blonde hair and purple eyes.

"Jack Atlas." Yuya's eyes widened.

"Why is the King here?" Tanner asked.

"Who knows?" Frank shrugged his shoulders.

Jack looked back and the kids tensed up and he then looked at Martha who simply smiled. He then saw Aki, who simply narrowed her eyes. He then turned back to Yuya. "I had a hard time tracking you down."

"Why would you want to bother with me?" Yuya asked.

"You've made an everlasting impression on everyone in Neo Domino." Jack answered. "You, the Dimension Guardians and Lancers."

"You know about them?" Yuya asked.

"Ever since you're Duel with the Duel Chaser, I've been keeping an eye out for any Duels that used summoning methods outside Synchro." Jack answered. "You're Pendulum Summoning is very powerful…you might be the Duelist that I have been looking for."

"For what, exactly?" Yuya asked.

"Instead of using words, we use our cards." Jack put his helmet back on. "But this Duel won't be between an outsider and the King. It'll be just between two regular men. In other words, I won't hold back."

"A Riding Duel." Yuya uttered. He took off his Duel Disk and placed it in front of him and pressed a button and his D-Wheel materialized.

"Oh, a Riding Duel!" Amanda got excited.

"So cool!" Frank was amazed by Yuya's D-Wheel.

"Do your best, Yuya!" Tanner cheered.

"Are you okay with this?" Aki asked.

"It's fine." Martha nodded.

Council Building

"Yuya's gonna Duel Jack." Rua was in shock.

"Oh, the King rarely takes interest in anyone." White Taki said. "This should be interesting."

"Yuya…be careful." Rin thought.

Commons Area - Martha's Orphanage

"Field Magic: Speed World Neo, set on!" Yuya and Jack shouted as they activated their D-Wheels. "Duel Mode: On!"

"Riding Duel! Acceleration!" Yuya and Jack raced off to the Back Roads.

"The one who clears that corner goes first!" Jack declared. Both Yuya and Jack raced towards the corner and turned but since Jack had more experience, he cleared it first.

"The first turn is mine!" Jack declared.

"Bring it!" Yuya shouted.

"Duel!" Yuya and Jack declared.

"My turn! Draw!" Jack drew his card. "I summon Double Protector (DEF: 1600, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" A monster with two shields appeared. "Then, I set two cards and end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" Yuya drew his card.

Jack LP: 4000, Hand: 3, SC: 0→1
Yuya LP: 4000, Hand: 6, SC: 0→1

"Using the Scale 1 Stargazer Magician and the Scale 8 Timegazer Magician, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuya's magicians appeared in columns of light. "With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 2 to 7!"

"Swing, pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth! With your wondrous and beautiful dichromatic eyes, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon (ATK: 2500, LV: 7, PS: 4)!" Odd-Eyes appeared and roared.

"Battle! Odd-Eyes, attack Double Protector! Spiral Strike Burst!" Odd-Eyes fired a blast that destroyed the warrior monster.

"When Dark Protector is destroyed in battle, one monster on the opponent's field has their Attack Points reduced by half until the End Phase of this turn!" Jack said and Odd-Eyes lost power.

Odd-Eyes (ATK: 2500→1250)

"I set one card and end my turn!" Yuya finished. "And with this, Odd-Eyes Attack Points returned to normal."

Odd-Eyes (ATK: 1250→2500)

"With Odd-Eyes on the field, Yuya has full control of the Duel." Sawatari watched.

"But this is the King of the Synchro Dimension." Gongenzaka said. "He can't let his guard down for a bit."

"Yuya…" Yuzu uttered.

"My turn! Draw!" Jack drew his card.

Jack LP: 4000, Hand: 4, SC: 1→2
Yuya LP: 4000, Hand: 2, SC: 1→2

"I activate my Continuous Trap: Reinforcing Resurrection! This card allows me to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from my Graveyard and this card becomes an Equip Card! Revive! Double Protector (ATK: 700, LV: 4)!" The twin shield warrior reappeared. "Furthermore, it gains 100 Attack and Defense Points, and its Level increases by 1!"

Double Protector (ATK: 700→800/DEF: 1600→1700, LV: 4→5)

"Next, I summon the Tuner Monster, Flare Resonator (ATK: 300, LV: 3)!" A small fiend monster that released flames appeared.

"A Tuner…" Yuya uttered.

"I'm Tuning my Level 5 Double Protector with my Level 3 Flare Resonator!" Flare Resonator played her tool and it transformed into three green rings and Double Protector went through them and became five stars.

"The heaven and earth shall tremble before the king's might. Let the power of the one and only supreme ruler be carved into your soul! Synchro Summon! The savage soul, Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight (ATK: 3000, LV: 8)!" A red dragon with multiple marks on its body and wings appeared and flew above Jack.

"There it is, Jack's ace monster." Crow's eyes widened.

"When a monster is Special Summoned on the opponent's field, I activate the Continuous Trap: Twin Big Shield!" A pair of shields appeared in front of Odd-Eyes. "Twice per turn, Odd-Eyes cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects!"

"The Synchro Monster that used Flare Resonator as material gains 300 Attack Points!" Jack shouted and Red Demon's gained power.

Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight (ATK: 3000→3300)

"Battle! Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight, attack Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Scarlight released a fiery breath attack and it hit the shields.

"Due to Twin Big Shield's effect, Odd-Eyes isn't destroyed!" Yuya said.

"But you take damage!" Jack pointed out.

Yuya LP: 4000→3200

"With this, I end my turn!" Jack finished. "Now, Yuya Sakaki, I brought out my ace monster just as you brought out your ace. But I know you have more! Bring it out, that Synchro Dragon!"

"My turn! Draw!" Yuya drew his card.

Jack LP: 4000, Hand: 3, SC: 2→3
Yuya LP: 3200, Hand: 3, SC: 2→3

"I activate the Speed Spell: Angel Baton! I draw two cards!" Yuya drew two cards. "And then discard one!" Yuya sent one to the Graveyard.

With my current scale, Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Odd-Eyes Cyber Wyvern (ATK: 2400, LV: 6)!" Yuya's cybernetic wyvern appeared. "Next, I summon the Tuner Monster, Gear Magician (ATK: 0, LV: 1)!" Yuya brought out his tiny magician.

"I'm Tuning my Level 6 Odd-Eyes Cyber Wyvern with my Level 1 Gear Magician!" Gear Magician turned into a single green ring and Odd-Eyes Cyber Wyvern flew through it and became six stars.

"Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down your enemies at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Appear now! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Clear Wing appeared and flew next to Odd-Eyes and both dragons roared.

Suddenly, both Yuya and Jack felt their arms twitch a bit. "Again, this happened when Aki summoned her dragon." Yuya thought. Jack just looked at his arm before focusing on the Duel.

Aki suddenly felt pain and she winced ass he held her arm. "Are you okay?" Martha asked.

"I'm fine." Aki wiped a bit of her sweat away.

Rua moaned as he rubbed his arm. "What's wrong, Rua?" Asuka asked.

"My arm is burning. I feel like I'm getting a rash." Rua answered.

"That's weird, my arm feels like its burning too." Rin thought as she kind of twitched, but nobody barely noticed.

"Argh, why did he have to say burning? Now I'm feeling it." Crow thought.

"I switch Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in Defense Position! Then, I set one card and end my turn!" Yuya finished.

"My turn! Draw!" Jack drew his card.

Jack LP: 4000, Hand: 4, SC: 3→4
Yuya LP: 3200, Hand: 0, SC: 3→4

"I activate Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight's effect! Once per turn, I can destroy as many Special Summoned monsters on the field that have equal or less Attack Points than this card, and for each one, inflict 500 points of damage! Absolute Power Flame!"

Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight ignited its claws and punched the ground and flames headed for both Odd-Eyes and Clear Wing.

"I activate Clear Wing's effect! When a Level 5 or higher monster activates an effect, that monster's effect is negated and destroyed! Dichroic Mirror!" Yuya countered and Clear Wing sent a counter effect that clashed with Absolute Power Flame.

"I activate my Trap Card: Red Armor! When a Red monster is targeted by a card effect, this turn, Red monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects!" A shield appeared in front of Scarlight and protected it as Clear Wing's Dichroic Mirror overpowered Absolute Power Flame.

"If I can't destroy your dragon by an effect, then I'll destroy it by battle! Go! Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight, attack Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Scarlight released its breath attack.

"I activate the Trap Card: Whirlwind Wings! When a Wind-Attribute monster is targeted by an attack, not only does this card protect my monster from destruction, but the monster also gains 800 Attack Points!" Yuya revealed.

Clear Wing (ATK: 2500→3300)

"In that case, I activate the other effect of Red Armor in my Graveyard! By banishing this card, one Red monster on my field cannot be destroyed by battle!" Jack shouted. "I won't back down! Go! Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight!"

"Counter it! Clear Wing!" Both Clear Wing and Scarlight clashed and the pain in Yuya's and Jack's arms intensified.

"Ah!" Aki held her arm as she collapsed to her knees.

"Aki!" Martha knelt down to help her.

"Argh!" Rua fell on the floor holding his arm.

"Rua!" Rio went to him. She touched his arm but quickly retracted. "Hot!"

"Ow!" Rin fell to her knees as her right arm twitched.

"Rin, what's wrong?" Yuzu asked with concern

"R-Rin…" Crow also fell on the floor. "You too…" Crow felt his right arm burning.

"Hey, pull it together!" Shun shouted at Crow.

Both Clear Wing and Scarlight were then blown back by a crimson blast and appearing before them was a red dragon made out of flames.

"That's." Roget's eyes widened.

"Oh my." White Taki was amazed.

"Wh-What the hell is that?!" Sawatari exclaimed.

"Wait, isn't that…" Jonouchi's eyes widened. It was the same dragon that Bruno had shown them at his shop.

"The Crimson Dragon." Godwin looked at the dragon.

The Crimson Dragon flew into the sky and roared and the shockwave sent both Yuya and Jack off balance, causing the Duel to end and both Clear Wing and Scarlight to disappear.

"What in the world?" Jack gasped as he saw his right arm had a glowing red mark. It was in the shape of wings.

"It burns…" Yuya winced and he looked at his arm and his eyes widened. "What the?" On Yuya's right arm was the mark of a dragon's head.

"Aki, you're arm!" Amanda pointed at her arm.

"What is this?" Aki was shocked that on her arm was the mark of a dragon's foot. "I have to get to Yuya." Aki got on her D-Wheel and sped off.

"Rua, let me see." Godwin knelt down to Rua and looked at his arm. "As I suspected…this is the mark of the Crimson Dragon." Rua had the mark of a dragon's heart.

"Rin, you're arm." Serena saw that Rin had the mark of a dragon's hand on her arm.

"Crow too." Dennis saw that Crow had the mark of a dragon's tail on his arm.

Yuya and Jack looked at each other as they both held their arms. "Yuya!" Aki drove up to them and her eyes widened as she saw both his and Jack's arms glowing like hers.

"Aki, you too?" Yuya's eyes widened.

Suddenly a spotlight shined on both of them and multiple Security Officers surrounded both of them.

"Yuya Sakaki! Aki Izayoi! You are both charged for inflicting harm on Neo Domino City! Under Director Jean Michel Roget's orders, you are both under arrest!"

And that's the end of Chapter 09. A short Duel but I really wanted to introduce the Crimson Dragon in this one. Also, the Exhibition Duel will still happen but it will be Reiji vs Jack. So, I hope you all look forward to it.
