TW: Glad you enjoyed it.

On an island, inside a monastery, three people head into a corridor. A man says lights and the corridor is revealed, along with the people, two men flanking a woman, all wearing an acid suit with a visor. They put down their visors and walk down the corridor before heading into the room. One of them rotates a crank and a seal is pulled off a vat. The woman puts a scanner in, declaring its reading is 9.7. One of the men climbs up on the edge of the vat as the woman says the acid potency has dropped in the last quarter.

"So apparently these people use acid for…something," Mickey muttered.

"Could be a number of things, humans have used acid for a variety of reasons throughout history, not a lot of them good," Jack said grimly.

"Since The Doctor is probably going to get involved, I'll wager that it's going to be for one of those 'not good' reasons," Martha noted.

"The usual," Donna sighed tiredly.

One of the men jokes about the woman being prettier than a computer and she playfully shoves him. The man falls into the acid, which begins to eat away at him.

"Oi! Be a little more careful!" Donna snapped as the past viewers looked startled.

"I think it's a little late for that Donna," Jack said darkly.

"I don't think he'll last long," Martha said sadly.

"Stupid gits," Mickey grumbled.

"How could they be so careless?" Wilf asked horrified.

"They wouldn't have lasted a day in Torchwood," Jack said grimly.

The woman is concerned for the man, Buzzer, as the other man sarcastically calls him twinkle toes. The woman apologizes for pushing him but Buzzer shrugs it off. Buzzer asks for the other man, Jimmy to help him out but Jimmy notes it's pointless to pull him out legless. "Sorry Buzzer, you're dead."

"And you seem real broken up about it," Mickey grumbled angrily.

"Which is strange. It's human nature to be at least concerned about someone dying," Martha noted, perplexed by their reaction.

"So either they're psychopaths, or something else is going on here," Jack agreed.

"It's explained in a moment," Jane promised.

Buzzer says his heart is gone as the woman slaps her scanner. Jimmy says they need to write up a report on this as the suits are expensive. Jimmy says he'll kill Buzzer again if he misses his son's birthday because of him. Jimmy waves at them as they walk out before his arm melts.

"Did he say kill him again?" Wilf asked, wondering if his old age had finally caused his hearing to go.

"No, we heard it to," Martha said as the past viewers looked at the screen bewildered.

"So something is going on here," Jack muttered, a suspicion forming in his mind.

Jimmy turns off they light before they head out. The woman tells him the potency stats are too low and they need another reading. She complains about the scanner jamming up on her before someone walks up to them. It's Buzzer, who says they need to talk about what happened.

"What the bloody Hell?!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers looked at the screen in shock.

"Cloners," Jack muttered and they looked at him in disbelief. "Gangers anyway."

"Gangers?" Martha repeated in confusion.

"It's what they were called. There's a substance called the Flesh that can be used to create an exact duplicate of any living organism, although it has to be remote controlled. The process was outlawed in the 23rd century, although it became a popular black market business for the right price," Jack explained. "I guess this is before the practice was outlawed."

"Just when I think I've seen everything," Mickey muttered.

Buzzer says he can get workers comp and Jimmy rolls his eyes. Jimmy tells him to let it go and Buzzer says to mention in his report the woman pushed him in. She denies it and accuses him of having two left feet. They bicker, Buzzer saying his body costs money and Jimmy notes not as much as the suit. The woman laughs as she and Jimmy walk passed Buzzer. He tells them to lighten up, as no one was hurt. Back in the room, the other Buzzer's head melts into the acid.

"No one except the Ganger," Martha muttered.

While her own experience with clones had not been pleasant, to see them used and disposed of as tools felt…wrong.

On the TARDIS, music is playing as The Doctor looks at the scanner. Rory throws a dart and it lands on a dart board. Amy calls him rubbish and they bicker about the score. Its revealed The Doctor is performing another scan to determine if Amy is pregnant. Once again, it reads both negative and positive.

"I'm still not sure how it can read both positive and negative. It doesn't make sense," Martha said, still perplexed by that strange reading.

"For now," Donna muttered, sure they would find out soon.

Jane grimaced. They would out in the next recording. And Jane really wasn't looking forward to it.

The Doctor turns off the music and asks who wants to go for fish and chips. Rory raises his hand and The Doctor says he'll drop them both off, telling them not to rush.

"Oh and that won't make them suspicious at all," Mickey said sarcastically.

"Spaceman, for someone so smart, you're hopeless naïve about humans," Donna sighed.

"I'm sure he's trying to investigate what's going on with Amy and wants to keep them out of it. But he shouldn't underestimate them after all they've been through together," Wilf pointed out.

"That's The Doctor, he sees us all as children…which, compared to him, I guess we are," Jack mused.

Rory asks where The Doctor will be and he says he has other things to do. Amy says she'd like to do the other things but The Doctor refuses. Amy says she'd like to be part of whatever he's doing and, seeing the look on The Doctor's face, asks what's wrong. The Doctor opens his mouth to speak when alarms begin blaring. The TARDIS rocks and the three are thrown about. The Doctor checks the scanner and says they're caught in a solar tsunami, a large wave of solar radiation from the Earth's sun. As the TARDIS spins out of control, The Doctor says the gyrator's been disconnected and target tracking is out. The Doctor and Amy grab onto the console as the TARDIS is shown flying towards earth.

"Oh for the love of, can things not go wrong just this once?!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers tensed.

"Apparently not," Jack muttered.

"This is actually not as bad as it looks. Just watch," Jane told them.

The lights go out and The Doctor tells Amy and Rory to assume the position before crouching down and bracing himself. Amy screams before sitting in a chair, copying The Doctor's position. Rory looks around wildly before getting down on his knees and copying them. They prepare to crash when the TARDIS lands with a jolt and the lights came back on. They all look up and The Doctor calls this a textbook landing.

"That was…strange," Wilf said lamely as the past viewers looked at the screen in bewilderment.

"I'm not sure what happened, but in any case, they're all alright," Martha noted.

Jane shrugged. Honestly, considering this was where her father had wanted to go in the first place, she's not convinced the TARDIS hadn't used the solar tsunami to get there. But she had no way to really confirm that.

The Doctor steps out onto an island, looking up and seeing a cockerel with a monastery underneath. He muses they must be in the 13th century as Amy and Rory step out. Amy notes they've gone medieval but Rory disagrees, as he can hear Dusty Springfield playing. Amy pauses and is able to hear it to.

"So they're at the place with the Gangers. Who could have seen that coming?" Donna asked sarcastically.

"At this point, I kind of expected it," Mickey shrugged.

"Honestly, me to," Martha admitted.

"Why else would they be showing the Gangers?" Jack pointed out and Donna paused, realizing he had a point.

They follow the sound and find a pipe seemingly dug up near the entrance of the monastery. But The Doctor notes the fissures are new, the result of a magnetic quake caused before the tsunami hits. Amy notes the monastery is standing. "Yeah, for now," The Doctor says as he takes out a snow globe and shakes it. Rory points to the word 'danger' on the pipe and The Doctor notes it's a supply pipe. Scanning the pipe, The Doctor notes something cursive and 'nasty' is being pumped off the island and to the mainland.

"The acid," Mickey realized.

"They're pumping it towards the mainland? Do they realize the effects that might have on the ocean, let alone the population?" Donna asked horrified.

"They might not care. Some people sadly don't care about this kind of thing," Jack said with a heavy sigh.

"Those who are out for themselves never do," Wilf said sadly.

Rory notes his mother is a big Dusty Springfield fan and The Doctor asks who isn't. The Doctor says they should satisfy their curiosity and the three of them head into the monastery. As they walk inside, Amy asks where the monks are and The Doctor does a quick scan. "I think we're here. This is it," The Doctor says.

"He wanted to come here?" Donna asked in confusion.

"Why would Boss want to come here?" Mickey wondered, as confused as Donna.

As the others wondered about The Doctor's motivation, Jack remembered the strange reading about Amy. Feeling like a bucket of cold water was being dumped on him; Jack subtly looked over at Jane. Catching him looking, Jane saw the look on his face and realized he'd figured it out. With a pleading look, Jane gave a subtle nod.

Jack fought to keep his expression blank as he turned back to the screen, his suspicions confirmed. His mind racing, Jack wondered who would do this to Amy and why. But in any case, once The Doctor figured out who, there would be Hell to pay. And Jack did not envy them one bit.

Rory asks what The Doctor is talking about as Amy adds they came here by accident. "Hmm? Accident? Yes, I know. Accident," The Doctor says. Seeing a pipe near the entrance, Rory puts his hand on it and yelps, pulling his hand off as it's burned. Amy rushes to Rory, taking his hand as The Doctor realizes acid is being pumped through the pipes. He assures Rory its old stuff, as fresh acid would burn his finger off.

"Real comforting Boss," Mickey muttered as Donna and Martha looked horrified.

"And this is what they're pumping to the mainland?" Donna asked in horror.

"They're mad. To risk the lives of everyone on the mainland…even The Master wasn't so needlessly careless with how he treated humans," Martha said her voice no more than a whisper.

"Arrogance and power will do that to you," Jack muttered absently, his mind still on his recent revelation.

Amy kisses Rory's burned hand as The Doctor enters the next part of the monastery. Alarms blare as an automated voice announces an intruder alert.

"You were saying Boss?" Mickey asked dryly.

The Doctor says there are people coming. "Well, almost," he says. Amy asks confused if they're almost coming but The Doctor clarifies he meant almost people. Amy follows The Doctor inside as Rory pleads to leave, as nothing good comes from people running towards them. Amy runs back and drags him inside. Jimmy, Buzzer and an unknown woman are all strapped to harnesses as the trio enters a chamber. Amy asks what the harnesses are for and Rory suggests the almost people. Amy wonders if they're prisoners or if they're mediating or what. The Doctor says they fall into the 'or what' category.

"Definitely the early stages of the technology if they're still using the harnesses," Jack noted.

"I'm guessing those harnesses allow them to control the Gangers?" Martha inquired and Jack nodded.

"The harnesses were used for the first century of the Gangers, until another, less legal way was developed to control them," Jack explained.

"And that was?" Mickey asked.

"Too complicated to go into," Jack said evasively.

"Real helpful Jack," Donna said sarcastically.

An automated voice tells them to halt and remain calm. The Doctor quips they're good on the halt part and asks how they're doing on the calm front. Buzzer, Jimmy and the woman from the beginning of the recording, all dressed in orange jumpsuits, burst into the room, Jimmy and Buzzer holding weapons as they tell the trio not to move. Buzzer tells the woman, Jen to stay back as they don't know who they are. Jen asks who they are and The Doctor begins to introduce them when Amy notices the duplicates on the harnesses. She asks if they're identical twins. "This is an Alpha-grade industrial facility," they turn around as a woman in an acid suit walks up behind them, escorted by another man in an acid suit. "Unless you work for the military or for Morpeth Jetsan, you are in big trouble."

"I assume she's in charge here," Wilf noted from the way she talked.

"She definitely has the type," Martha agreed, the woman reminding her of several of her superiors in UNIT.

"Brilliant," Donna said sarcastically, already distrusting her.

The Doctor says they're the ones in trouble, pulling his psychic paper to pass himself as the meteorological depart. The woman is skeptical as The Doctor points out they were hit by a solar wave. She argues they survived but The Doctor reveals a bigger one is on its way. The woman is confident they'll survive that to, ordering the other worker, Dicken, to scan for bugs. The Doctor, Amy and Rory are forced to back up against the wall as The Doctor realizes they're a factory in the 22nd century. Amy asks if they're army but the woman declares they're contractors and calls them trespassers. Dicken scans the trio and gives them the all clear. The woman hands The Doctor his psychic paper, satisfied with it as she asks about what he'll do if there's another solar storm, joking about handing out sunblock. The Doctor laughs before demanding to see their critical systems. She asks which one and The Doctor tells her she knows which one.

"She honestly thinks she can pull one over on Boss?" Mickey asked amused.

"She's arrogant, thinks she's the smartest person in the room," Martha noted, very familiar with the type. "She's never had to deal with someone like The Doctor questioning her."

"Well then she's in for a rude awakening," Wilf said confidently and Jane grimaced.

"You have no idea Wilf," she muttered.

The woman takes them to the room with the vat from the beginning of the recording. The Doctor leans over, examining it as the woman calls it the government's worst kept secret, the Flesh. She explains what it is and Amy says she's lost. The woman explains once they take a reading, they can manipulate the molecular structure into a perfect copy of any living organism. The woman explains the organism is virtual identical to the original, The Doctor adding it also has the same mind and soul. The woman scoffs, saying it may act like life but it still needs to be controlled, which is what the harnesses are for. Rory realizes she's Flesh but the woman explains she's in the harnesses they saw earlier. They all are except Jennifer. The woman calls it like operating a forklift.

"She sees them as tools to used and disposed of," Wilf said, the thought making him sad.

"I haven't had the best experience with clones but this still feels wrong," Martha said with a grimace.

"This is how wars are fought and revolutions are started. One sides believes they're better than the other, and the other side decides they don't want to live like that," Jack said darkly.

"But the Gangers are remote controlled, they don't have any thoughts of their own," Mickey pointed out.

"Yet," Jane said grimly and a shiver ran down everyone's spine.

"I don't like the sound of that," Donna said uneasily.

"Good. Because things are going to get bad very fast," Jane said grimly.

The Doctor argues only living things grow but the woman calls them moss. She explains the acid is so dangerous they lose a worker every week, which is why they use the Flesh, who they call Gangers to monitor it. Jimmy says they don't care if they lose a Ganger and Jennifer explains when a Ganger dies, they wake up and get a new one. Jimmy calls it weird but you get used to it. The woman orders Jennifer back to the harness and she heads out of the room. The Doctor scans the acid with his screwdriver and Buzzer asks what he's up. The acid seems to react to the scan and The Doctor pulls back, noting it was almost like the acid was scanning him. The Doctor, despite the woman's protests, places a hand on top the acid.

"Oi! Are you bloody mad!?" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers stared at the screen in disbelief.

"This is mad even for him," Martha muttered in disbelief.

"What exactly is he hoping to accomplish?" Wilf wondered uneasily.

"Spoilers," Jane said with a tight smile.

Jack was silent, remembering what he had learned. He knew it had to do with what had happened to Amy somehow, he just didn't know how yet.

The Doctor groans in pain as they all watch in shock before he pulls his hand back, saying he understands. Amy asks if he's alright as The Doctor marvels at the acid, explaining it reached out to him in his mind. "Don't fiddle with the money, Doctor," the woman says coldly.

"It's not money you git," Mickey snapped.

"It's alive," Donna said in disbelief. "The Flesh is alive."

"So they're using a living substance to make mindless clones. This cannot end well," Martha said uneasily.

Jack was silent again, remembering all the reports on the Flesh he'd come across as a Time Agent. Martha had no idea how right she was.

The Doctor argues it's alive, pulling their very personalities into it. He pulls out the snow globe when the building rocks, what sounds like thunder heard. The Doctor explains it's the solar storm, it was only the first wave and they come in pair. The woman asks Buzzer if they have anything from the mainland and he says the Comms are jammed with radiation. The woman declares they'll keep pumping until the mainland says otherwise, arrogantly telling The Doctor to stand back and let them impress him.

"She's going to get them all killed," Jack said darkly.

"She's arrogant and has absolute belief in her ability to manage this crisis. That's not a good combination," Martha said uneasily.

"Jack's right, she's going to get them all killed if The Doctor doesn't do something," Donna realized in horror.

"May God help them all," Wilf almost whispered.

Back in the chamber with the harnesses, Jennifer swipes her ID in a machine. It's accepted and she says the meter is running. Jennifer walks over to an empty harness, placing her palm on a hand scanner. The others have moved to another room where liquid Flesh begins being poured into a tub. Jennifer steps into the harness, setting everything up. She closes her eyes, the harness activating as, in the room with the tub; everyone watches the liquid Flesh completely fills the tub. A face forms in liquid and everyone watches as the Flesh quickly forms into an exact duplicate of Jennifer.

"The doctor in me is fascinated by all this," Martha muttered.

"And the other half wants to run as far from it as you can?" Donna asked dryly and Martha grimaced.

"Basically, yes. Clones freak me out," Martha admitted, thinking of her own clone.

"Can't blame you," Mickey muttered, wrapping an arm around his wife as he tried to comfort her.

Jennifer sits up with a gasp and Amy and Rory step back. "Well, I can see why you keep it in a church. Miracle of life," The Doctor quips. Buzzer tells him not to get poncy before Jennifer says they need to get to work before getting out of the tub. The building rocks from another strike of the solar storm. The Doctor reminds them of the storm, telling them they need to leave. Jimmy asks where they should go, as it's a small island and The Doctor offers to take them off. But the woman argues they have a job to do.

"She's not just arrogant, she's mad," Donna said in disbelief.

"Doesn't she care about the lives of her workers?" Wilf asked horrified.

"Doesn't seem like it," Jack noted, disgust rising up in him. "And if I'm right about this, it's going to cost her."

"What do you mean by that?" Martha asked as they all looked at him in bewilderment.

"The solar storm. If I remember my history of Gangers right, I think this is the incident that caused them to be outlawed. I guess I shouldn't be surprised The Doctor was involved," Jack mused.

"It's coming," The Doctor said, looking down at his snow globe. The alarms blare and The Doctor asks how they get power. The woman explains they use a solar router, which The Doctor calls a problem. Jimmy suggests they should go underground, as the acid pipes might not hold. But the woman coldly points out they have 200 more tons of acid to pump out or else they have to stay another rotation. The Doctor grabs her by the arm and pulls her away, telling her she's making a mistake and they'll be in terrible danger if they don't prepare for the storm. "My factory, my rules," she says.

"She really just doesn't care, does she?" Martha said, all of them horrified by the woman's utter apathy.

"She's power hungry, what's a few lives lost compared to her power?" Jack asked darkly, remembering meeting dozens of people just like her while working for Torchwood.

"Brilliant. The last thing we need in this situation," Donna grumbled.

As the woman walks off, The Doctor says he needs to check the progress of the storm, asking Jennifer about the monitoring station. Hesitating briefly, Jennifer tells him where it is when The Doctor snaps his fingers at her. The Doctor thanks her before he, Amy and Rory then head out of the room. Outside, the sky around the monastery turns orange as the storm looms overhead.

"Hurry Boss," Mickey muttered as the past viewers watched the screen uneasily.

The Doctor, Amy and Rory head into the monitoring station, the room shaking from the storm. The Doctor explains the magnetic field is being disturbed by the waves of solar energy, which will cause 'the mother and father of all power surges'. The Doctor points to the machine in front of him, explaining it's a weathervane that is pumping the factory with solar power. When the storm hits, it will blow.

"They'll be without power then. If they survive," Donna said uneasily. "Hurry up Spaceman."

The Doctor says he needs to get to the cockerel before all Hell breaks loose. He briefly laughs over getting to say this again before telling Amy to breathe and running out of the room. Amy, confused, exchanges a look with Rory before saying she'll try.

As the other past viewers looked confused by this, a dark look crossed Jack's face. So it was that late in the pregnancy. The Doctor better hurry up.

The Doctor runs outside, seeing the storm is here and runs up towards the cockerel. He begins climbing up a ladder as inside; Jennifer and the woman are seen twitching in their harnesses. The pipes of acid are seen cracking, acid hitting the floor and beginning to each away at it. The pipe outside gushes acid from a crack and it begins burning the ground around the TARDIS, which begins sinking into the mud.

"The TARDIS," Wilf said horrified.

"The acid won't destroy it, but the ground around it will soften," Jane quickly assured him.

"Which means the TARDIS will sink," Donna realized horrified.

"Brilliant," Martha groaned.

The Doctor reaches a voltage box and opens it. Inside, the Gangers are seen standing motionlessly as the storm hits. A strike from the storm hits the cockerel and there is a flash of one of them snarling, their skin turned to Flesh.

"I'm guessing that's not normal?" Mickey asked Jack, who was frowning.

"I'm not an expert on Gangers, but no, I don't think that's normal. Something's about to happen," Jack said, having a good feeling he knew what.

The cockerel is hit once more and the voltage box sparks. The Doctor is thrown from the ladder as the power surge is seen spreading throughout the factory. The Gangers cry out before the power blows and the lights go out. The Doctor is lying on the ground, unconscious before his eyes snap open. He sits up, seeing the cockerel was destroyed by the storm as it begins passing by. Inside, Amy and Rory are lying on their backs, out cold before they come to. "For lack of a better word, ow," Rory says. Outside, The Doctor finds the woman wondering about. "Cleaves! You're not in your harness," he says as he runs up to her. She apologizes, saying he was right.

"Well, they lost power but everyone seems to be alright," Wilf said, trying to be optimistic.

"And it looks like the storm knocked some sense into Cleaves," Donna said, trying not to feel vindictive about that.

"Yeah," Jack muttered, wondering why it felt so off.

He tried to quiet the voice in the back of his head, reminding him of a report about this very incident. Only time would tell if it was about this incident.

The Doctor says they've lost all power to the factory as Cleaves says she abandoned her team. The Doctor says they should go find them before grabbing her hand and leading her back inside. Once inside, The Doctor asks how long they were unconscious and Cleaves guesses a few minutes. The Doctor disagrees, estimating they were unconscious for an hour. "I've seen whole worlds turned inside out in an hour. A lot can go wrong in an hour," The Doctor says ominously.

"The Doctor's right, civilizations can fall apart in an hour," Jack said darkly.

"We like to think we're more evolved than that, but the truth is when driven to panic, we retreat to our baser instincts," Martha sighed sadly.

"All we can do is hope that hasn't happened," Wilf said wisely.

Amy and Rory enter the chamber with the harnesses to see Jimmy and Dicken helping Buzzer down from his harness. Buzzer asks what happened and Amy says the tsunami. She asks if they're hurt and Jimmy gives a sarcastic response. Jimmy jokes about getting paid when they hear a whimper. Rory looks over and sees Jennifer holding her face. Rory walks over to her, making sure she's alright. Jennifer looks up at him, saying it hurts and he hugs her, assuring her it's over. Amy looks over as Jennifer rambles to Rory about feeling like she was going to die. "Welcome to my world," Rory says.

"She seems traumatized, but alright," Martha noted.

"They're not seriously injured, just a little disoriented. It could have gone worse," Mickey decided.

Jack narrowed his eyes, remembering the report. He really hoped he was wrong, that this wasn't that incident. But, given The Doctor's luck, he wasn't betting on it.

Rory hugs Jennifer before looking over at Amy. They exchange a smile before The Doctor and Cleaves run into the room. Amy wonders where the Gangers are and Cleaves says the Gangers return to Flesh when the link is broken. The Doctor begins looking around as Cleaves says acid leaks are all over, so they need to contact the mainland. Suddenly, the sound of music playing is heard.

"Uh, what is that?" Mickey asked as the past viewers looked startled.

"Music," Martha said unnecessarily. "But who's playing it?"

Everyone listens in shock as Jimmy says that's his record, wondering who's playing it. The Doctor realizes it's the Gangers but Cleaves argues it's impossible. Suddenly, they hear the sound of a record being activated before it starts playing near them.

"It's the Ganger," Jack repeated ash e deflated, unable to deny it anymore. "It is that incident."

"What incident are you talking about?" Martha asked as they all turned to Jack.

"The Solar Storm animated the Gangers, made them living people. Half the crew is going to die," Jack said, to the horror of the other past viewers. "This incident is what led to the start of Gangers being outlawed."

"And The Doctor is right in the middle of it," Donna realized in horror.

They enter a dining hall to find it ransacked. Cleaves is in disbelief as Jimmy suggests the Gangers could have escaped through a service door in the back. Buzzer calls this just like the Isle of Sheppey as The Doctor notes the storm animated the Gangers. Jimmy finds a notepad on a table as The Doctor explains the place isn't ransacked, but searched. Cleaves protests that they searched their stuff but The Doctor points out it's the Gangers stuff to. They weren't trying to destroy anything, merely searching for confirmation that their memories were real The Doctor explains. Buzzer scoffs at the Gangers having memories and The Doctor explains the Gangers feel compelled to connect to their lives. Cleaves argues their lives are stolen but The Doctor points out they gave them their lives. "Human lives are amazing. Are you surprised they walked off with them?" The Doctor asks.

"They thought of the Gangers as tools, they don't know how to deal with the fact they aren't," Martha noted.

"Like I said, when the slaves get tired of being slaves, that's when you have a revolution," Jack said grimly.

Buzzer once again mentions the Isle of Sheppey, where a Ganger got an electric shock and then killed its operator. Jimmy argues even if it's happened, the Gangers can't remain stable without them pumped into them. The Doctor asks Cleaves if they can and after a moment, Cleaves says they'll find out. Jennifer gasps and Rory asks if she's okay. Amy looks over as Jennifer says she feels funny. Jennifer runs off to the washroom and Rory goes with her. Dicken sneezes and Amy nearly jumps.

"This is not the time to split up," Martha said uneasily.

"A little late for that," Donna said sarcastically, as uneasy about this as Martha.

The Doctor looks at a house of cards and Buzzer says it's his hobby, wondering if his Ganger did that. The Doctor asks who taught him to build card houses and Buzzer says his grandfather and The Doctor says the Gangers' grandfather taught him how to do as well, as they both have the same childhood memories. Angrily, Buzzer knocks over the house of cards. The Doctor calls the Gangers scared, disoriented and struggling to come to terms with a lifetime worth of memories.

"This is a recipe for disaster," Martha said horrified.

"Or war," Mickey said grimly.

"Brilliant," Donna groaned.

In the washroom, Rory stands just outside as Jennifer washes her hands. Rory notes The Doctor's rule of not wandering off and Jennifer says she needs a minute. Rory turns his back, assuring her he'll watch her back. In the mirror, Jennifer's face flashes briefly to reveal a Ganger's face. She kneels over, spitting out a mouth full of liquid Flesh.

"Bloody Hell, she's a ganger," Mickey exclaimed as the past viewers looked at the screen horrified.

"Rory, get out of there," Martha pleaded in a whisper.

Rory calls out to her as, horrified, Jennifer runs into a stall. Rory walks into the washroom, asking if everything's alright. He puts down the light he was holding, asking if everything is okay before he's punched in the face. Rory falls to his knees as the fist hits the mirror, which cracks where it was hit. The fist then returns to where it had punched through the stall door and stretched over to hit Rory. Rory looks up in horror as Jennifer's head comes of the hole, her neck stretching like rubber. "Just let us live!" she snarls.

"They can do that?!" Mickey asked horrified as the past viewers looked startled.

"Not normally, no. The electric shock is causing the Gangers to mutant, torn between Flesh and human," Jack mused.

"Mutate into what?" Donna asked uneasily and Jack shrugged helplessly.

"I really don't know. I'm not an expert on Gangers, most of what I know is what I read in history books and the Time Agency database," Jack admitted.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good," Wilf said uneasily.

Terrified, Rory jumps up, grabs the light and runs out. In the dining hall, Jimmy says they need to protect themselves as The Doctor puts a plate of food in a microwave. The Doctor asks if Jimmy is a violent man and Jimmy says no. "Then why would the other Jimmy be?" The Doctor asks.

"You'd be surprised what someone is capable of when push comes to shove. You know that better than anyone Doctor," Martha noted.

"He's trying to keep them calm. Cool heads might prevent a war," Jack pointed out, even as he remembered the report. "Not that it seems like it made much different, if that report of this incident is anything to go by."

Cleaves asks how The Doctor can eat at a time like this. He points out she said they were out for a few minutes when it was actually an hour. Cleaves apologizes but The Doctor explains the Gangers are disoriented. He asks Amy who was in the harnesses when she and Rory got there and Amy says Jimmy and Dicken were helping Buzzer out. The Doctor asks about Jennifer and Amy says she was standing on her own.

"Because she was a Ganger," Mickey noted unnecessary.

"The Doctor's putting it together," Martha said in relief.

The Doctor hands Cleaves the plate of foot and she smiles at him. He tells her it's hot and she drops it. The plate shatters as The Doctor explains she didn't feel it because her nerve endings aren't fused properly.

"Blimey," Mickey said as the realization washed over them all.

"She's the Ganger," Donna breathed.

"I guess it makes sense, she was being far too reasonable compared to before," Martha said with a heavy sigh.

"She doesn't seem like Jennifer. So is she not as mutated as her?" Wilf wondered.

"I'm not sure. But I don't think they should stick around to find out," Jack said uneasily.

Looking down at her hand, Cleaves wonders why she didn't feel that. The Doctor promises she will once she stabilizes. Cleaves shouts at him to stop playing games before looking back down at her hand. She turns away and The Doctor tells her she doesn't have to hide, pleading with her to trust him. She whirls around, her skin now Flesh. Buzzer grabs a nearby weapon, demanding to know where the real Cleaves is. The Doctor marvels at the Flesh, which he calls the early stage of the technology as Jimmy restrains Buzzer. The Doctor examines the Ganger Cleaves and Amy asks what's happened to her. The Doctor explains she can't stabilize and is shifting between half and full form. "We are living!" Ganger Cleaves says. She moves to strike The Doctor and he jumps out of the way. Ganger Cleaves then runs out of the room with a primal scream. The Doctor says to let her go as Amy remembers Rory. "Oh, Rory. Rory! Always with the Rory," The Doctor says.

"Well, they're safe for now, they just need to go get Rory," Martha said, trying not to let her unease get the best of her.

"As long as they can get to him before Jennifer's Ganger," Mickey pointed out.

Elsewhere on the island, Rory is running, looking over his shoulder for the Flesh Jennifer. Dicken leads The Doctor and Amy out of the monastery, finding a container of acid has spilled onto the ground. Dicken says the explosion ruptured the acid feeds and they'll need the acid suits but The Doctor argues they don't have time, ordering them back inside.

"So now they have to avoid the acid as well. It's like the bloody labyrinth," Donna grumbled.

"Might be even more dangerous, because you can't tell friend from foe," Jack said darkly. "They'll have to be careful."

"Careful and lucky," Mickey added and Jack nodded in agreement.

Rory runs the grounds, passing an opening with a pipe. He runs towards the spot where the others had just fled, on the other side. He stops as he sees the acid. Rory hears Jennifer call out for him and runs. Taking cover in a nearby room, Rory watches nervously as the Ganger Jennifer walks into view, calling out to him. Not finding him, she walks off to Rory's relief.

"Seems like Rory is safe for now," Wilf noted.

"For now. But that Ganger seems oddly fixated on him. Rory needs to meet back up with the others," Jack pointed out.

"Which is difficult, since the acid is all over," Martha noted uneasily.

Dicken leads The Doctor and Amy into the washroom. Amy is horrified to see the hole in the stall and The Doctor realizes Jennifer is a Ganger to. Amy snaps The Doctor said they wouldn't be violent but he points out he also said they were scared and angry. Remembering The Doctor called them early technology, Dicken accuses him of knowing something about the Flesh. Amy asks if he does and The Doctor turns to face her but doesn't answer.

"Something doesn't add up. Why did The Doctor want to come here?" Martha wondered and a dark look crossed Jack's face.

"It'll make sense at the end of the next recording," Jane said, looking at Jack with a look that said not to say anything. "For now, just watch."

"Really getting tired of this 'leap of faith' bullocks," Mickey grumbled.

"I know. But I promise, you won't have to wait long," Jane promised.

Mickey grumbled but did turn back to the screen. Jane let out the breath she didn't know she'd been holding before looking at Jack, who met her gaze evenly. He'd have told them, but honestly, he was still wrapping his around it. It was probably better to let them see it for themselves.

Dicken demands to know why The Doctor is really here. The Doctor says he can fix this before running out of the washroom. Amy and Dicken quickly follow after him, Dicken asking where the real Jennifer is. Jennifer is then seen walking down a stairwell, seemingly blind as she uses her hands to see where the wall is.

"So she's still alive then," Wilf said happily.

"For now. Half the team was killed. No one is safe Wilf," Jack said darkly, wondering which of the team would die first.

The Doctor is then seen leading Amy and Jimmy into a corridor. They begin to head down the corridor but have to jump back as a cracked pipe lets out a stream of acid. It hits the floor, beginning to eat away at it and The Doctor declares it's too dangerous. Amy argues they have to find Rory and The Doctor says he's going to go back to the TARDIS. He orders them to wait in the dining hall and not to wander off. Amy asks about Rory and The Doctor says it will be safer to look for him and Jennifer with the TARDIS.

"Except the TARDIS is probably halfway into the ground by now," Donna said miserably.

"Basically it's useless until The Doctor can find a way to get it out, no offense," Jack said as he looked around the room.

The Doctor walks off and Jimmy spots an emergency box. Opening it, he pulls out some backup emergency layers. Closing it, he jumps as he sees The Doctor next to him. The Doctor asks where the exit is and Jimmy tells him but warns The Doctor he won't get the TARDIS inside. "I'm a great parker," The Doctor says before walking off.

"Not too sure about that Boss," Mickey muttered as they watched uneasily, knowing it wasn't going to be as easy as The Doctor thought.

Amy picks up a light as says he's sent Buzzer and Dicken to get more acid suits. Amy says she's going to find Rory and Jimmy says he wouldn't do that. "Nor would I. But what can you do really?" Amy asks before running off. Jimmy tells her to wait for the acid suits but she ignores him.

"The things we do for love," Martha muttered as she grasped Mickey's hand.

"Tell me about it," Jack said tiredly, thinking of Ianto, his wife and Estelle.

As Dicken and Buzzer wearily head into a locker room to look for acid suits, Rory finds who appears to be Jennifer sitting on a bench in another locker room. Rory approaches her cautiously when she starts telling him a story about when she got lost at a picnic when she was a little girl. The recording flashes to Jennifer's face, revealing it's the Ganger Jennifer. She notes she can still remember how sore her toes got in her boots that day as she looks down at a picture of a young Jennifer. The Ganger notes she imagined another girl just like her, also Jennifer but she was stronger and would lead her home. The Ganger takes the photo out of the frame and uses it to look at her reflection. She then puts it in the frame, declaring her name is Jennifer Lucas. She tells Rory what she did that morning before they arrived, turning to him telling him she noticed him because of his eyes right away. Rory is uncomfortable as Ganger Jennifer says he has kind eyes. Rory kneels down, asking about the real Jennifer. But the Ganger insists she is Jennifer, as she has all her memories. "Every birthday, every childhood illness. I feel everything she has ever felt and more. I'm not a monster! I am me! ME! ME! ME!" Ganger Jennifer cries as she bangs on her chest, her Flesh turning to skin. Rory walks over and puts his hands on her shoulder to try and calm her. Ganger Jennifer asks why they did this to them. Ganger Jennifer tearfully begs Rory to help her and Rory hugs her, trying to comfort her as she sobs into his shoulder.

There was not a person who was not moved by the scene. Even Martha's eyes teared up as Donna felt tears falling from her own eyes. Jack, Wilf and Mickey stared at the screen, pity for the Ganger welling up in them.

"What they're doing…it's wrong. No one should be able to do this," Martha said, swallowing the lump in her throat.

"You have no idea," Jane said darkly, thinking of what had been done to Amy. "No one should this much power over another person."

The Doctor enters the room with the tub, running over to it. He once again scans the acid with his screwdriver and the acid reacts to the scan. The Doctor then runs out, not seeing a mouth form in the acid. "Trust me," it says.

"Did - you all saw that right?" Mickey asked as the past viewers stared at the screen in disbelief.

"We saw it. I'm just not sure what it was," Martha muttered.

"Another Ganger forming. How I'm not sure," Jack mused.

The Doctor runs out onto the grounds, seeing the TARDIS mostly submerged in the ground. He asks what it's doing down there before feeling the acid under his feet beginning to eat away at his shoes.

"I expected it to be sinking, but it's almost submerged," Martha said horrified.

"How is The Doctor going to get it out now?" Wilf wondered miserably.

"I honestly don't know Gramps," Donna said with a sigh.

The Doctor takes off his shoes and runs inside as Dicken and Buzzer are seen in the basement, holding their lights. They find the container of acid suits but when they open it, the suits are missing. Buzzer realizes the Gangers took them.

"So now the Gangers can move around freely," Martha realized in horror.

"This cannot get worse," Donna declared, breaking her own rule.

Dicken mentions how the Ganger Cleaves looked at the in the dining hall. "I don't know what they are now, but they aint us," Dicken says. The Ganger Cleaves walks down into the room with the vat. The Gangers Dicken, Jimmy and Buzzer are all there waiting for her. Ganger Cleaves walks down the steps, feeling her face before declaring they have the advantage now as they have acid suits. They can move freely and strike at will.

"You were saying?" Martha asked dryly and Donna grimaced.

"I was wrong. It can always get worse," Donna sighed miserably.

Rory and Ganger Jenifer walk back into the monastery, Rory inquiring if she's alright. Ganger Jennifer says she's different now, stronger. Rory assures her The Doctor won't hurt her, that he wants to help. The Ganger notices he used her name and thanks him before kissing him on the cheek. She tells him Amy is a lucky girl and Rory agrees after a moment. They then move on, not noticing someone watching from the shadow. They step into view to reveal its Cleaves. She then runs off in the opposite direction.

"And Cleaves is still here," Martha noted.

"Considering how she feels about Gangers, I doubt she'll take the fact they can think for themselves now well," Mickey said, knowing something was going to happen with Cleaves.

"I think it's a safe bet Mickey," Jack said darkly, having encountered any similar situations in his life.

Amy is walking the grounds, looking for Rory. She opens a door and is shocked to see the woman with the eye patch looking at her from a wall with an opening in it.

"And the eye patch woman is back," Donna muttered.

"How does she keep appearing to Amy?" Martha muttered.

"It'll make sense soon enough," Jane said, glancing over at Jack who was watching the screen with an unreadable look on his face.

Although before he had been confused, now it all made sense. Wherever Amy was physically, this woman was looking in on her.

The woman closes the opening and Amy, frightened, closes the door. Rory walks up behind her and calls out to her. She whirls around; relieved to see Rory is okay. She walks forward when Ganger Jennifer walks into view. Rory says the Ganger needs protecting when Dicken and Buzzer emerge at the other end of the hall. At first they mistake the Ganger for Jennifer until Amy corrects them. Rory looks at her betrayed before declaring no one will touch Ganger Jennifer, to Amy's surprise.

"Maybe Rory will be able to convince them to at least hear her out," Wilf said although he wasn't sure how much he believed that.

"With how afraid Buzzer and Dicken seem to be of the Ganger, I doubt it Wilf," Jack said wearily. "I want to believe there can be a peaceful solution, but I remember the report. Even The Doctor can't save everyone."

The Doctor walks into the room with the vat, using the light to see. He finds the light before seeing four pairs of boots. He lifts the light to reveal the Gangers. The Doctor greets them, asking how they are. Ganger Cleaves tells him to tell them and The Doctor notes they have two choices: they can tear each other apart or they can work together, figure out how to help the Gangers, which The Doctor prefers. The Doctor is then seen leading the Gangers out of the room, requesting they try to hold their human forms to put the others at ease.

"So far, the Gangers seem more reasonable than the humans," Martha noted.

"We'll see how long that lasts. The Gangers have more reason to be afraid than the humans. The Doctor needs to play this very carefully," Jack noted wearily.

Around a corner, Cleaves pokes her head out, watching them. The Ganger Cleaves turns her head all the way around, just missing as Cleaves ducks her head out of view.

"Well that's unsettling," Mickey muttered as the past viewers all looked at the screen uncomfortably.

"And Cleaves is watching them," Donna muttered.

"Brilliant," Martha said sarcastically.

The others have assembled in the dining hall; Buzzer asks Ganger Jennifer where Jennifer is, demanding to know what she's done with her. The Ganger claims she hasn't seen Jennifer. She tries to convince them she's just like Jennifer but Jimmy says she's merely a copy. A bit further away, Amy tells Rory they don't know anything about the Gangers yet. Rory argues he knows that Ganger Jennifer is afraid and needs their help. Amy tries to continue the conversation but Rory waves her off.

"Not off to a promising start," Martha noted uneasily.

"Rory seems to be the only one on their side," Wilf pointed out.

"He's got a good heart. But that doesn't mean he's right," Jack noted with a sigh. "Maybe the Gangers do need help, but he might not be able to give it to them."

"Which could end badly if Jennifer's Ganger feels betrayed," Martha noted and Jack nodded in agreement.

Jane barely fought the grimace that threatened to cross her face. Jack and Martha had no idea how accurate their predictions were to what had actually happened.

Ganger Jennifer tries to plead with them, arguing she's worked with them for two years but Buzzer refuses to see her as Jennifer. Amy tries to defuse tensions, suggesting they not do anything until The Doctor returns. At the end of her sentence, The Doctor walks in with the Gangers. Jimmy stands up, staring at his Ganger with shock and a bit of disgust. "This is-" "You're telling me," Ganger Jimmy finishes.

"It's a bloody freakshow," Mickey muttered dryly as they all watched uneasily.

"It's like one of those shows, attack of the clones or whatever," Donna noted uncomfortably.

"When did our lives become a show?" Martha wondered.

"About the time we met The Doctor," Jack noted and Martha shrugged, not able to argue.

Ganger Cleaves asks The Doctor what he plans to do now that he's brought them together. The Doctor says he has an important question first: does anyone have a pair of shoes he can burrow. Everyone looks at him incredulously.

"Not the time Spaceman," Donna grumbled, barely resisting the urge to slap a hand to her face.

In the locker room, Cleaves is going through a locker, rambling in disgust at The Doctor's attempts to befriend the Gangers. She gathers some items before closing the locker.

"And Cleaves is going to do something that will disrupt the peace talks," Jack said knowingly.

"What was your first clue?" Jane asked dryly and Jack sighed heavily.

"Brilliant," Donna grumbled as they all watched wearily, fearing what Cleaves may do now.

In the dining hall, The Doctor disagrees with Cleaves previous statement that the Flesh are like moss, explaining that the storm has hardwired the Gangers and they are becoming people. Jimmy scoffs at this as Dicken sneezes. The Doctor explains the Gangers are not an accident that needs to be moped up, they are sacred life. Jimmy and his Ganger exchange uneasy looks as The Doctor explains the TARDIS is trapped in an acid pool and he can get them all off the island once he can reach it. Buzzer and his Ganger glare at each other in contempt.

"I doubt they'll make it that long," Martha muttered.

"Even without Cleaves, I'm not sure The Doctor can keep them from tearing other apart in such close quarters," Wilf said sadly.

Jimmy asks if he can make it home for his son Adam's birthday. Ganger Jimmy argues Adam is his son to and Jimmy scoffs, asking if he really thinks that. Ganger Jimmy says he feels it and Jimmy demands to know if he was there when he was born. "Yeah. I drank about eight pints of tea. Then they told me I had a wee boy and I just burst out laughing," Ganger Jimmy laughs at the memory as Jimmy stares at him in shock. "No idea why. I miss home as much as you do."

"Seems like Jimmy seems ready to listen at least," Martha said in relief.

"Nothing is more powerful than a parent's love for their child. If anything would convince him, it would be that," Jack noted. "Although with Cleaves in the mix, it may not matter."

The Doctor says this is a mess before making a quip about what they might say. Seeing the saying is not familiar, The Doctor says they need to get everyone together first before they can get everyone out. Amy points out they're still missing Jennifer and Cleaves. Jimmy offers to go look for them. As he moves to leave, his Ganger offers to go with him, pointing out they can cover more ground. After a moment, Jimmy agrees. "This circus has gone on long enough!" everyone turns around to see Cleaves has entered, holding a box attached to a wire.

"And there goes the peace talks," Donna muttered as they all watched tense.

Ganger Cleaves sarcastically says this is typical of her and Cleaves orders The Doctor to shut her up. The Doctor pleads with Cleaves as she explains the box is a circuit probe that fires 40,000 volts, enough to kill any of them, including the Gangers.

"She's mad," Wilf said as the past viewers all looked at the screen in horror.

"Arrogant, xenophobic, power hungry. Not too sure about mad though," Jack noted. "Just a would be tyrant."

Rory stands in front of Ganger Jennifer protectively as The Doctor notes Cleaves calls the Gangers 'it' but calls the probe 'she'. Cleaves sarcastically says she'll talk philosophy with The Doctor once the real people are off the island. Amy asks what Cleaves plans to do with the Gangers and Cleaves says she'll destroy them, as they're mistakes. The Doctor tells Cleaves to give him the probe as her Ganger accuses Cleaves of having to take charge even when they don't know what's going on. Ganger Buzzer rushes Cleaves and she uses the probe on him. Ganger Buzzer stumbles back, falling to the floor. The Doctor and Amy rush to his side and The Doctor is horrified and angry to realize the Ganger is dead. "We call it decommissioned," Cleaves says coldly.

"NO!" Donna exclaimed as the past viewers stared at the screen in horror.

"And that's how you start a war," Jack said with a heavy sigh.

"It doesn't matter who fired the first shot, everyone gets hurt in the end," Jane said sadly.

"Cleaves is no different than Restac or Alaya," Martha said in disgust.

"She might be worse. At least they thought they'd been attacked. Cleaves is just hateful," Jane noted.

Cleaves raises the probe towards the other Gangers, who shrink away in fear. The Doctor angrily says the Ganger had a heart, a human heart and she stopped it. Ganger Jennifer angrily tells Rory that they will all end up dead of they trust him.

"And so goes her trust in Rory," Martha said with a grimace.

"Which might have been the only thing stopping this war," Jack added wearily. "Now that's gone to."

The Doctor pleads with them to wait as Rory sees Cleaves about to fire again. He tackles her to the ground and the Gangers flee. Rory disconnects the probe, to Cleaves' fury. The Doctor cries for the Gangers to wait but they ignore him as they run out of the room.

"Sorry Boss, even you can't change this," Mickey said sadly as they all looked heartbroken for The Doctor.

"I knew it probably wouldn't work, but it still doesn't change the pointlessness of the entire situation," Jack sighed.

The Doctor is dismayed as Cleaves and Rory stand up. The Doctor angrily tells Cleaves to look at what she's done while she says it war, which he doesn't understand. Cleaves declares it is them against the Gangers now. "Us and them," Cleaves says as she turns to Dicken and Jimmy. Dicken echoes this statement and, after a moment, so does Jimmy although he seems reluctant. The Doctor sighs, dismayed.

"You really don't know anything about him," Donna said angrily.

"She thinks she's the smartest person in the room, she can't conceive that there may be more to Dad than she thinks," Jane explained.

"The arrogant always are," Wilf said sadly.

In the room with the vat, Ganger Jennifer says they tried to work together but now it's 'us and them'. Jimmy and Dicken's gangers echo this statement as they put on the acid suits. Ganger Cleaves seems shocked by Ganger Jennifer's actions and Ganger Jennifer points out Buzzer knew it was a trick and now he's dead. "If we want to live, it's time to go to war," Ganger Jennifer declares. Ganger Jennifer vows to take care of the original Jennifer before heading out of the room. Ganger Cleaves looks down at the acid suit in her hands uncertainly.

"She doesn't seem to want a war as much as Cleaves," Martha noted in surprise.

"I guess the Gangers might not be exact copies of the humans," Jack mused, although he wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing just yet.

In the room with tub, Jennifer enters, limping. She looks up as a hand is shown on a pillar. "Trust me."

"Was that what I think it was?" Mickey asked as the past viewers all stared at the screen in disbelief.

"I guess it makes sense. The Flesh seemed to scan him when The Doctor placed his hand into it," Jack mused.

"A Ganger Doctor. This is either really good or really bad," Martha muttered wearily.

"I guess we'll find out which it is soon," Donna noted, as uncomfortable by the idea as the others.

Jennifer, terrified, runs out of the room. In the dining hall, Rory and Amy are taking care of the body as Rory says he was only trying to help. Amy says they all do and Rory tries to explain only for Amy to snap at him to drop it.

"He was just trying to help," Donna grumbled.

"She knows that, I think she's just frustrated," Jane assured her. "Rory knows her well enough not to take it personally."

The Doctor asks Cleaves where the most fortified and defendable room in the monastery is. She says the chapel and The Doctor tells her she's crossed a line by killing Ganger Buzzer and now they're coming back. The Gangers are then seen walking through the monastery wearing the acid suits. Jennifer is seen skulking around a corridor when she hears Rory call out to her. She goes to follow his voice and her Ganger is revealed to be hanging on the ceiling, watching her.

"Jennifer," Donna whispered as they all tensed.

Jack closed his eyes sadly. It seemed Jennifer would be the first human casualty of this incident. The second life lost in this senseless war.

The Doctor has led the group to the chapel. Everyone is heading inside when they hear Jennifer scream, although they can't tell which one it is. Rory looks back as Amy pleads with him to come into the chapel. Rory says Jennifer is out there and on her own. The Doctor says if she's got sense she's hiding but Rory says he can't leave her out there, which he knows The Doctor understands.

"If anyone understands that, it's The Doctor," Jack noted.

"Out of all his companions, Rory is the one who seems to understand Dad best," Jane mused. "Probably why Dad seems to keep his distance from Rory at times, he sees too much of himself and who he used to be in Rory."

"Maybe," Jack noted as they all looked thoughtful at this.

Amy orders Rory to get into the chapel when the Gangers arrive. Rory runs back down the hall. Before Amy can follow him, The Doctor pushes her into the chapel. Amy calls for Rory before The Doctor closes the door.

"Rory," Martha whispered as they all worried about him.

"He survived almost two thousand years guarding the Pandorica. Rory'll survive this to," Jack said confidently, although he wasn't sure if he was trying to convince them or himself.

Amy struggles against The Doctor, worried for Rory but The Doctor points out they're not after him. Hearing a noise, The Doctor realizes someone else is in the room demands they show themself. Rory runs through the monastery, looking for Jennifer. In the chapel, Amy asks The Doctor to pass her a barrel while the others begin barricading the door. But The Doctor is distracted by the other presence in the room. Jimmy chuckles at the absurdity of the situation and The Doctor says it's about to get even more insane, demanding the other presence show themselves. Amy walks over, snapping at The Doctor to focus on the situation at hand, listing the direness of the situation. "Correct in every respect Pond," everyone turns as The Doctor's voice speaks. "It's frightening, unexpected, frankly a total splattering mess on the carpet but I am 100% certain we can work this out." A second Doctor, his skin Flesh, walks out of the shadows. "Trust me, I'm The Doctor."

"A Ganger Doctor," Mickey muttered as the screen went black. "But is it friend or enemy?"

"I have a feeling we're about to find out," Jack said grimly, musing that he'd finally see the incident that led to using the Flesh being outlawed.

Another great episode, this one doing what Chibnall failed to do last season and setting up the conflict between the Gangers and humans after failed peace talks in a way that made sense that also tackled the morality of cloning and whether or not clones are the same person.

Given Jack would have at the least remedial knowledge of Gangers, I think Jack would be able to put together what happened to Amy when added in with Amy's strange reading once finding out The Doctor's intentions.
