Prologue

Tears are streaming down my cheeks. Lifeless Abnegation members' body are lying on the floor, crimson flowers blossoming on their clothes. But the worst thing are the Dauntless, their blank eyes staring straight in front of them, shooting the Abnegations. I scan the corpses trying to find my parents, praying that they are not here. And that's when everything connects. Those shots they gave, it was for this cruel plan and the Erudites are the ones behind this. While still following the flow of Dauntless, I try to find Tobias. When I finally am next to him, I grab his hand and slightly tug it. He nods lightly and we walk discreetly towards the train.

We were lucky enough to have a train come almost immediately and we run beside it, Tobias entering first in it and pulling me inside. When we are catching our breaths we hear a voice.

"Hey you! What are you doing? Come back!"

I crane my neck around and see a one of Eric's lackeys running next to the train. Huh. I guess some people were spared from the simulation. The crack of a gunshot suddenly gets me out of my thoughts. The guy shot, and I was lucky not to get hit. He is still running but the train is faster than him and I can finally see him stop, realising running is no use.

"Well, that was close," I state, while turning towards Tobias.

"Too close, he's going to alert the leaders. We need to be fast. What's your plan now? Get to Erudite?"

"Well, I didn't have time to think of a better one but maybe we could try shutting the power of the city down. I know where the control centre is."

I remember the time I volunteered in Abngation to help fixing a few things in this control centre. And, cliché, or not there was a big red button. Even then, my curiosity got the better of me and I had asked the person who was in charge of the centre what was it's use. He then explained the whole control room, and this whole afternoon was probably one of the best. One where I felt I truly belonged, called that my Erudite side if you will.

"Good idea. But we need to be quick because the control centre is protected by Dauntless, and chances are they are going to be back soon when they are finished with Abnegation." He answers, knitting his eyebrows.

We are just outside the control centre and surprisingly nobody caught us yet. I gesture to Tobias and we smash the door open. In the room, I see the same guy I saw during my volunteer time there. He seems afraid but he relaxes when he see me.

"Why, hello. Haven't seen you for quite a long time. Why are you here?"

"We need to put the power out. Quick."

"I'm afraid this is not possible. We can't-"

He is cut off by Tobias ruthlessly shoving him on the side. I quickly follow him and slam my hand on the big red button. My shoulder say with relief. It's done. We stopped it.

A few weeks later

It took a month to figure out this whole situation. In the end, Jeanine Matthews was deemed guilty and it seemed that Eric was her helper but his trial hadn't taken place yet. Max, on the other hand, denied all link to this operation and weirdly enough, they let him go but I'd rather have him than Eric. Another that has changed, is that nobody considers me as the puny girl from Abnegation anymore. Because when the power was turned on again, they saw the footage of me stopping the simulation. Now I am viewed practically as a hero. Everybody now knows the name of Tris Prior and that's why I changed my name to Six. I don't like being know as "The one who saved us".
