TW: Yeah, the only consolation is that we know this is River very early in her timeline. In the words of River Song, Spoilers.
THWA: Glad you enjoyed it.
Once more, the past viewers made their way to the dining room, sitting down at the table filled with food. For a moment, the room was silent.
"Well that was…interesting," Jack said, breaking the silence that had descended on the room.
"Completely mad is more like it," Donna muttered.
"Kind of fitting though to. Nothing is ever simple with The Doctor and River, why should their wedding be any different?" Martha noted.
"Are they even actually married if Boss didn't tell River his name?" Mickey wondered.
"He had to tell her eventually, she knew it when I met her at the Library," Donna pointed out.
"Donna's right. At some point after, Dad and River had a proper Time Lord Marriage ceremony. Although I can't tell you when, the TARDIS is a bit cagey about intimate details about Dad and River's relationship," Jane shrugged.
"So River's going to spend the rest of her life in prison for something she didn't do?" Wilf asked, aghast at the thought.
"Come on Wilf, do you really think Dad is gonna let that happen?" Jane asked with a grin.
"Of course he's got a plan with that, he has a plan for everything," Mickey said as he burst out laughing.
"She had to get out sometime, she was a professor by the time she showed up at the Library," Donna mused, thinking back on her meeting with River.
"So that was the end of the end of the second set, right?" Martha inquired and Jane nodded.
"Yeah, now we only have one more set," Jane explained.
"Well hopefully this one is not as intense," Mickey muttered.
Jane barely resisted the grimace that threatened to cross her face. While Mickey was right and the third set was not as brutal as this one, it was far from a pleasant ride. Her father had probably suffered more there than in any other set she had seen. But it was not her place to tell them just yet. They would soon see for themselves.
Jack saw the look on Jane's face and that same uneasy feeling that he'd first gotten when he realized Jane's hatred for the Siren spread over Jack again. Remembering Jane's description of how the Siren had manipulated The Doctor, Jack wondered silently if they were about to see that now.
But he didn't say anything, reasoning he would find out soon enough either way. And there was no point to upsetting the others worse than they already were, Jack reasoned.
So, silently, Jack began to fill his plate, wondering what new pain this next set had caused his friend that broken him so much it had left him vulnerable to such manipulations.
It irks me that we never saw The Doctor tell River his name. Moffat did River so dirty.
