Three months later !

"This is 20-David, suspect in custody !"

"Roger, 20-David, we keep searching int the house." Street said into his radio.

He teamed up with Tan and searched the first floor of this decrepit house. They had investigated a child abduction, and were nearing the end of the crucial forty-eight hours when they stumbled upon the solid lead that had led them to this house. The man was known to the police to be listed as a sex offender.

"Clear !" Tan said, after opening the bathroom door.

"Clear !" Street said in the bedroom. "Wait, don't make a sound !"

The two men were silent, and that's when they heard it. Muffled crying coming from a closet across from a filthy bed. In silence, Street and Tan approached the cabinet. Tan opened the door, and what they saw made their blood run cold. The girl they were looking for, no older than seven, was curled up in the back of the empty closet, her feet and wrists bound with heavy tape. She was also gagged with tape. Street handed his gun to his teammate and knelt in front of the girl, who backed away crying.

"Don't be afraid, we're the police." he reassured her in a soft voice. "I'll untie you, and we'll take you back to your parents. I promise you. Callie, is that right ?" She nodded. "My name is Jim, I'm going to get you out of here, okay ?"

She nodded again and let him reach out his hands to her. Gently, he pulled the piece of tape off her mouth, and Callie's cries of distress grew more heartbreaking in Street's ears. With the help of a pocket knife, he freed her wrists and ankles, before taking her in his arms and standing up. Callie clung to his neck.

"Here 25-David, we have the little girl !" Tan said into his radio.

They left the house. An ambulance was there, and they took care of the little girl. Callie's parents hurried out of a police car to join their little girl.

Back at HQ, after reporting to Commander Hicks, Street swapped his clothes for a gym outfit and hit the punch bag.

"It really stirred him." Tan remarked. "Well, it stirred us all but…"

"It's always hard when it comes to children." Hondo said.

Chris joined his husband, and waited for him to pause to take his gloved hands in hers.

"At least you didn't forget to put them on this time."

"I would have preferred to punch that son of a bitch." he said.

"I know." Chris said, a sad smile. "It's not the first time we've investigated a missing child, but you've never reacted like that. Is it because of last night ?"

"I don't know, maybe." he said. "But, hey, it will eventually happen. I promise you. The doctor said to not worry."

He kissed her, before taking off his gloves.

"We're going for a walk ? I need to clear my head." he offered.

"Once you shower." she told him.

What he did. Having put on his uniform, he bumped into Hondo on his way out of the locker room.

"You're okay, Street ?"

"Yeah." He sighed. "It's never easy with kids, but it's worse now, because we're trying to have a baby with Chris."

"Hey, it's okay to feel what you're feeling." Hondo reassured him. "But don't shut yourself up. Talk about it !"

"Promise !"

"So you and Chris are already trying to expand your family ? I thought you might want to wait a bit." Hondo said.

"Chris is ready, and so am I, but we don't worry." Street said.

"Let's go ?"

Chris had joined them.

"Where are you going ?" asked the team leader.

"I need to go for a walk." Street replied. "But we keep our phones on."

"Okay, but don't forget to come back for the debrief." Hondo told them.

...

They went to Grand Central Park. Hand in hand, they walked without exchanging a word, enjoying the fresh air after spending almost two days on this investigation. Generally, it was up to the police or the FBI to deal with child abductions, but the Mayor herself had requested the assistance of S.W.A.T.

"We are not on call all weekend." Chris said.

"Hmm ?" Street said, before realizing what she had said. "Yes I know. Why are you telling me ?"

"Maybe we could go camping ?" she offered. "Just you and me, surrounded by nature and without thinking of anything but the two of us. We don't have the equipment but nothing prevents us from going to buy what we need."

"You know what ?" Street stopped walking and hugged his wife. "That's a great idea. We could go near Lake Barney. We are in the middle of November so we are not forced to swim, but it could do us good. I'm on."

On the way back to HQ, they made a list of what they needed. Chris wrote everything down on her phone, and their day was over, they went to a specialty store and bought a tent, a sleeping bag big enough for two, a cooler for food, flashlights, warm clothes etc. They may have lived in Los Angeles, but it was November and they were going camping in the middle of the woods. The evening was likely to be chilly. They took their purchases up to their apartment and sorted.

"We take your jeep, it'll be better." Street said.

"Yeah, while I still have it, might as well enjoy it." she says. "I'm going to make dinner."

The weekend came very quickly. Friday after a very quiet day, Street was the last in the locker room with Deacon, Chris having come out to answer a call from her aunt.

"Chris seems to be doing better." Deacon remarked. "And so are you."

"You've noticed ?" asked Street.

"I'm not the only one who noticed it, but we didn't want to bother you." Deacon said. "We thought you would have told us about it if it had been serious."

"Yeah !" Street sighed. "Chris was late last week, but it was a false alarm. We know that it is useless to take the lead, and we move forward day by day as we always have."

"Have you seen a doctor ? Do exams ?" Deacon asked.

"Not yet." Street replied. "With Chris, we said we would do some tests if she is still not pregnant within a year. We are still young to worry."

"If you need to talk, don't hesitate, okay ?"

"Thank you, Deacon !" smiled Street.

"Why don't you come over for dinner this weekend ?" Deacon offered him.

"It would have been with pleasure, but with Chris we go camping. We take advantage that we are not on call."

"You are quite right."

The next day !

Near Lake Barney !

They had left at daybreak so as not to be stuck in traffic. So that no one would be surprised by their absence, Street had sent a message to his entire team to let them know that he and Chris had gone camping and that they would be back the next day at the end of the day. They found the ideal site, and parked the jeep near the location.

"It's the perfect place." Chris said, once she got out of the car. "Are we setting up the tent now ?"

"I want to stretch my legs first." said Street, who had driven to the site.

They made sure the jeep was securely locked before heading into the woods. Hand in hand, drawing in the fresh air of nature with each breath.

"Your aunt doesn't mind us missing the weekly family lunch ?"

"No, I explained to her that we had worked on a difficult case this week, and that we both needed to find ourselves a little alone." Chris said. "Far from the city, and without a phone for several hours."

They hugged, arms around each other.

"Like on our honeymoon, where there was no one but you and me."

"Just you and me." he repeated.

Street took her lips for a long loving kiss.

"How about we go back to eat ? I'm hungry." he said.

"Good idea !"

They returned to their car, and once the tent was up, they settled on the bed of the jeep, which Chris had lowered, and ate sandwiches prepared before they left.

"It's quiet." Chris said.

"Yeah, it's relaxing." conceded Street. "The guys noticed that we were different this week. Deacon told me. He and Hondo know we're trying for a baby. I'm sorry if you didn't want me to tell them about it but…"

"You needed this to come out, I get it." she reassured him. "I called Annie the other night. I needed to confide in her."

"And you feel better." he said.

"Do you think we should do like all those couples who want a child so badly, who time everything, give injections and…"

"Clearly not." Street said. "Unless that's what you want."

"I don't know." confessed Chris. "We are already doing a stressful job so, if we add to that a hormonal treatment to make me fall pregnant, I'm afraid of not being effective on the field."

"So we keep our deadline of one year, then we will see." Street said.

They finished eating, then Street closed the cooler and pushed it to the bottom of the trunk to pull Chris into his arms.

"We will have this baby, my love." he promised her. "A girl first would be nice."

"Why a girl ?" wondered Chris.

"I don't know, but I always wanted to have a girl, and if she looks like you then it will be even better." he said. "Even though no guy will come near her as long as I'm alive."

Chris burst out laughing, but she thought none the less.

Night fell quickly, and they watched the stars for a while, armed with flashlights so as not to risk hurting themselves. When it was time to go to bed, they went to their tent.

"Are you cold ?" he asked, as Chris shivered.

"A little." she said taking off her shoes.

"Come here !" He hugged her once under the sleeping bag. "You feel better ?"

She nodded, resting her head on his chest. They heard nothing, apart from the sounds of nature, very different from those of the city. More soothing. Chris fell asleep, lulled by the caresses of her husband in her hair.

...

What a joy to wake up without being forced to, without the shrill sound of an alarm clock. She didn't care about the time, it was daylight and she was in her husband's arms, still asleep. Chris moved so she could watch him sleep. He seemed perfectly relaxed. He was relaxed. She thought back to the months that had passed, following their return from their honeymoon. It had taken them two good weeks before they felt comfortable in their apartment, a wedding present from their friends. As a result, they had moved the furniture in the living room until it suited them. They had invited the team members and their friends in turn. Even Rocker and his wife had been invited to dinner at their house. Mumford and his wife, as well as Buck. Luckily, every dinner had passed without the phone ringing.

Being married didn't change much. Chris was now called Street, and not Alonso anymore. The name change had been long, but when she looked at her husband or her wedding ring, the wait had been worth it. Nothing was different. They were still crazy about each other, and within three months they had sex on virtually every surface in their apartment. We had to take advantage of it. When they had children, those moments would be rare. Like this present moment, under the tent, in the middle of nature, with no one around. Biting her lip, Chris took advantage of the width of the sleeping bag to lay on top of her husband, swinging one leg over to straddle him. There she leaned down and kissed him on the neck. Soft kisses combined that had their effect, and Street slowly awoke.

"Hmm, that's a wake-up call." he muttered, giving her more access to his neck.

"Are you awake enough to take off my clothes ?" she whispered, rubbing her pelvis against his.

Street's hands immediately gripped Chris' ass, through the soft jeans she was wearing. Their lips found each other very quickly. The sleeping bag was ancient history, in order to have more space. Sweaters and jeans were removed. Chris shivered. Street straightened up to sit next to her and wrapped his arms around her.

"I'll warm you up, my love."

He laid her down, placing himself on top of her to offer her the warmth of his body. He detached himself just long enough to remove her last rampart, then his own.

"I love it when you wake me up." he said softly, entering her just as gently.

"You do the same with me." She wrapped herself around him, trapping him between her legs. "How many times have you woke me up with this ?"

She put her index finger on her husband's mouth, who bit it.

"And I would continue to do so whenever I want." he said. "You only have to say one word to make me stop."

"How about we stop talking ?" she offered.

It was a great idea. Capturing her mouth, he moved his hips slowly, taking his time with her body. A body he caressed and kissed. Chris clung to him, didn't want it to end and accepted that he took his time without asking him to go harder or faster. He led the pace, snatching moans of pleasure from her, swallowing them in languorous kisses. With his right hand, Street caressed her, cupping one of her breasts in his palm, nudging her nipple as he went. He descended lower, sliding down to her leg wrapped around his hip. He pulled her up a little more, allowing him to penetrate her deeper. A powerful jerk, and Chris arched her back in a cry. She was almost there, he wanted to feel it as she tightened around his cock.

"Hold back, baby. Hold on for me !" he said to him.

She did as he said, but it was hard to hold back her orgasm. She lost herself in the gaze of her husband, who accelerated his penetrations and brought her closer to pleasure.

"Jimmy I'm gonna... please I'm gonna... hum…"

"Come on baby, cum for me."

Chris cums in a cry of deliverance, body arched from head to toe, as Street ejaculates inside her with such force that rips through him. Breathless, he collapsed on his wife, who wrapped around him like a blanket, refusing to let him out of her embrace. They stayed like that for a few minutes before pulling away and lying side by side. Street on his back, Chris against him and her legs over his. He replaced the down on them to protect them from the freshness of nature.

"You're okay ?" he asked her.

"Hm hm." she replied placing a kiss on his chest. "I don't want to go back to town. We are so well here, in peace."

She yawned.

"Go back to sleep, my love." He kissed her on the forehead. "We have long hours ahead of us before having to go home. Sleep, I'll be there when you wake up."

"Hmm, you're better."

She slept for two hours straight. When she woke up, they made love again before cleaning up and getting dressed. They boiled coffee on a gas stove they had bought the day before, and had breakfast on cookies prepared by Chris before they left the house. In recent months, she has taken more and more pleasure in cooking. She had to learn a few tricks, especially if they wanted children. They packed up the equipment, which they put back in the jeep before doing a little more advanced hike. They walked for hours, Street carrying a backpack with water and snacks along the way. They took photos, made selfies to add to the albums they had started to fill when they got back from their honeymoon. They wanted to collect memories and keep them close at hand where they could relive them through these photos.

They left Lake Barney in the middle of the afternoon !
