Pregnancy - 12 weeks + 1 day !

S.W.A.T. HQ !

"Is it squeezing you ?"

Chris was in her regulation uniform. She was going back to work today, and they planned to tell the team the good news.

"No, it still fits me, but I don't think it will last long. The more the days will pass, the more my belly will grow."

"I've spoken to Hicks, and he'll make sure you have a uniform that fits you whenever needed. Or we'll negotiate for you to come to work in your everyday clothes." Street assured her, hugging her. "Are you happy to be back at work ?"

"Oh yes, I couldn't stand staying home anymore." Chris sighed.

"Come on, you didn't stay home all the time." he laughed. "You hung out with Annie, who took you shopping and helped you move into the guest room so you could do prenatal yoga to keep yourself busy."

"I won't be doing prenatal yoga in the spare bedroom throughout my pregnancy." Chris said. "We're going to have to decorate it for him. Or her."

"I'm sure it's a girl." he said, kissing her neck.

They had arrived at HQ early, before everyone else in order to be a little alone.

"How do we tell them ?" Chris swiveled in her husband's arms to face him. "Do we announce them right away or do we make the suspense last ?"

"As you feel, I let you decide." He kissed her, sliding a hand over her stomach, which had grown slightly in the past two weeks. "I love you both girls."

Chris chuckled. He had said both girls. He was sure it would be girl. She didn't care, as long as the baby developed properly and was born healthy. Girl or boy, it doesn't matter. The locker room door opened, and Deacon, Hondo, Tan, and Luca entered.

"Hey, look who's back with us ?"

They each took the woman in their arms for a brief hug, but when Hondo hugged her a little too tight for Street's liking, the latter pulled Chris back to him.

"Hey there, gently huh; not too hard the hugs."

"Jimmy…" Chris sighed. "I'm not made of glass."

"It would be known if that was the case." Tan teased. "You're able to knock out a guy who is two heads taller than you."

Street cleared his throat as he held his wife close to him.

"What's the matter, Street ?" Hondo asked. "You're acting weird."

"Chris, you're telling them ?" Street said.

"Tell us what ?" Deacon wanted to know.

"Uh, you're going to have to do without me on the team for a few months." Chris told them.

"What ? How so ?" Luca asked. "What's wrong ?"

"You look pretty good to me." Tan said.

Deacon was the first to notice that Street had put a hand on Chris's stomach, and he understood without the young woman needing to add more.

"You're pregnant ?"

Three pairs of eyes fell on the couple, waiting for an answer.

"Yes guys, I'm pregnant !" Chris said.

It didn't take long for the congratulations and hugs to come for the parents-to-be, except they paid more attention as they took turns hugging Chris.

"It's awesome." Luca said. "Since when do you know that ?"

"Uh, for two weeks." Street said.

"Two weeks ?" Tan burst out, slapping the younger man on the arm. "And you waited all this time to tell us ?"

"We wanted to wait until the end of the first trimester." Street explained. "We let you change and we meet in the kitchen to explain everything to you, ok ?"

When they found the couple in the kitchen five minutes later, Chris was munching on celery sticks.

"I see we brought a snack." he said smiling.

"Yeah, it's to avoid feeling nauseous." Chris said. "Deac, uh, you need to know that Annie knew about it."

"What ? But she didn't tell me." Deacon said.

"She wasn't supposed to know." Chris told him. "She came to see me when you told her I was on day-leave and she was helping me make lunch when I got nauseous. I tried to lie to her but I didn't really have time."

"Annie is a lie detector, Chris. She would have known in a second." Deacon said. "Okay, I don't blame her for not telling me. It's not something I would have liked to learn from her anyway, so don't worry about it."

"So we have the right to know how you learned the good news ?" Hondo asked.

Street gave them the the details, while Chris nibbled on her celery sticks.

"Wow, so you were pregnant all this time ?" Luca wondered. "It's awesome."

"We apologize for not telling you she was pregnant when we found out but…"

"Stop Street, it's up to you." Hondo reassured him. "And I understand very well that you want to keep it a secret for as long as necessary."

"Have you seen your doctor ?" Deacon asked.

"Yes, yesterday we did the visit at the end of the first trimester and everything is fine." replied Chris. "The baby is well attached, the heart is beating strongly. Everything is normal, except that I can no longer eat zucchini."

"The baby doesn't like them." Street tells them.

"Reminds me of Bonnie when she was pregnant with Adam, she was throwing up every time she smelled cheese." Tan said. "I always found it weird. "

"That's because you weren't made to carry babies." Chris replied friendly.

"Outch !" Luca coughed.

"We are happy for you." Hondo said, getting back to the main topic. "And if you need anything, you tell us. And you don't hesitate, okay ?"

They agreed, and Hicks arrived just as their phones rang.

"There was a burglary ten minutes ago. The police are chasing the robbers, I'll send you the address. We must give them assistance." he told them. "Chris, you come with me to the ops room."

From the operations center, Chris had supported the team remotely, along with Hicks and Lynch. The mission had been completed, and the suspects arrested. Chris retreated to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge. Dr. Keysler had advised her to drink plenty of water and avoid sugary drinks. She could drink them, but not to excess.

"Hi Chris !"

"Hi Erica !"

"Rocker told me that your team was sent to the field, but you stayed behind." Erica said. "You're feeling good ?"

"Yes, i'm fine." Chris reassured her. "But I won't go on the field anymore. At least for a few months."

"Why ?"

Apparently, the news had not made the rounds of HQ yet. Instead of a verbal response, Chris put a hand on her stomach, over her dark gray t-shirt, and smiled. Erica's eyes darted back and forth between her friend's belly and her smile, until she understood. Hands over her mouth, she squealed in excitement, which surprised Chris.

"You're pregnant ?" Erica jumped up. "You're pregnant ?"

"Yeah !"

The young woman found herself in a big hug from her friend. Wow, what was it going to be like when she'll tell Bonnie, Ally, and Nichelle ?

"Honey, are you there ?"

Street walked into the kitchen, to see his wife entangled in Erica's arms.

"I'm here ! Chris said, waving at her.

"I guess that she knows." joked Street.

"Erica, please, you're holding me a little too tight."

"Shit, sorry."

Erica pulled away quickly, and Street was near his wife in the blink of an eye.

"Hey, you're okay ?"

"Yeah !" she breathed. "Jimmy, don't even think about yelling at Erica."

"I'm sorry." Erica apologized, before heading for the exit. "I'm so happy for you."

"Don't say anything to the other girls, I want to tell them myself." Chris told him.

"Count on me !"

Her husband's hand on her stomach, Chris leaned against him.

"I'm glad you came back in one piece."

"I want to live." Street whispered to her, making her chuckle. "By the way, you haven't forgotten our deal, I hope ?"

"What are you talking about ?" she wanted to know.

"Your hair !" he said slipping his fingers there. "You are forbidden to cut them until you return to the field."

"I've not forgotten." she nodded.

The announcement of her pregnancy to her family was more than jovial, and Chris's aunt had a reaction that made the young woman cringe, especially since she kept hugging her. But Chris had to calm her down, especially when she saw Lucia get up and take refuge in the house.

"Tia, take it easy !" She managed to extricate herself from her aunt's suffocating embrace and back into Street's comforting arms. Shit, she couldn't see him but she could guess his condition. "You almost suffocated me."

"Don't exaggerate, I'm so happy." her aunt squealed, reaching out for another hug.

But Street stopped her by extending an arm between them like a shield.

"Please, I will ask you to calm your excitement." he said calmly.

"I'm not doing anything wrong." she defended herself.

"Is that so ? Don't you see that you are hurting Lucia ?" Chris said. "It took me a while to see it but her behavior towards me is partly your fault. You put me on a pedestal, and it hurts Lucia."

"You're saying nonsense."

"She's right, mama !" Tomas, Chris's cousin, interjected.

"Look, I know she's got her flaws and been acting like a bitch ever since I've been dating Jimmy, but I've finally opened my eyes to the way she's been acting, and your reaction to my pregnancy is proof that you are more invested in my life than in that of your own daughter, so I ask you to stop and take care of her a little. »

She turned to her husband and said :

"I go to the bathroom, then we go back home. I'm tired."

"OK !"

He kissed her on the forehead.

"No, no, stay for lunch. Please Christina !"

"No, she's tired." Street said, calmly but firmly.

Chris went to the bathroom, and found her cousin there. Sitting on the toilet seat, silently crying.

"I'm sorry, I'm not trying to monopolize your mother's attention." Chris said. "I never looked for it."

"I know." Lucia looked up, her face streaked with tears. "I'm happy for you Chris, you have to believe me, I just…"

"Yeah, I know." Chris said. "You should have come and talked to me about how you really felt, instead of getting it into your head to steal Jim from me."

"I messed up, I realize that, and I'm sincerely sorry. I never meant to hurt you, but my mother has been like that with you since you came out and I think she was desperate to see you lead this life. I didn't really care, as long as you were happy, but I completely derailed the day you told us that you were dating Jim. I saw the relief on my mother's face, and from there she started investing in your relationship. She talked about it all the time, so when you got married, it was like all her prayers had been answered. I did wrong, and I apologize."

"I'm going to stop coming to give you time to find yourself and your mother." Chris said. "Besides, I need to live my pregnancy fully as I want, and it's not with your mother that it's likely to happen given her reaction when I made my announcement. I can't even imagine when she'll find out that I'm still going to work."

"You're not going to the field, are you ?" Lucia asked.

"No, I stay at HQ and help the best I can." replied Chris. "When the team is in the field, I do the research, I guide them from the operations room, and I do the paperwork. I am well supervised."

"Well, I don't want anything to happen to my niece or my nephew." Lucia said.

She wiped her tears, got up and went to take her cousin in her arms. The hatchet was definitely buried.

"Technically it will be your second cousin." Chris said, before stepping away.

"Yeah yeah !" Lucia said rolling her eyes.

They left the bathroom. Street was waiting for them in the hallway. Lucia apologized for her inappropriate behavior, then she left them and returned to the garden. It was only once in the car, on the way home, that Street let his astonishment show.

"If I expected her to apologize like that. Is she sincere ?"

"We talked and we are on the right track." Chris said, nodding. "How was it when I left the garden ?"

"Oh, I got away and left your uncle and cousin alone with your aunt." Street said. "What are you going to do ?"

"Back away for a moment." Chris said. "Lucia and my aunt need to reconnect, and Lucia especially needs to release everything that is on her heart. I prefer not to get involved and focus on my pregnancy."

She stroked her little belly.

"I want to live it healthily, and quietly." she says. "I want a smoothie. Can we take a detour to get one ? Please !"

He didn't have to turn his head to know she was pleading. Cute.

After a detour that had lasted a good hour, they returned home, and as soon as the door of the apartment closed, Chris kissed her husband and stuck to him in a very suggestive way.

"Um, honey, we just got home and, you need to rest."

"I have plenty of time to rest." She unbuttoned his. shirt. "Enjoy it as much as I want."

He stopped thinking and picked her up in his arms, leading her to the living room couch. He sat down with Chris on his legs and they got rid of some of their clothes. She slid down the erect length of her husband, who filled her entirely. Chris moved, up and down slowly. Street, accompanied the movement by holding her hips. They caressed, kissed through their moans.

...

The next day, Chris invited the girls to have breakfast at a restaurant downtown. Annie had picked her up, and Street had gone to HQ, having practice with the team. They sat down on the terrace, which was covered. Eventually Bonnie, Nichelle and Ally arrived in turn, dressed in jeans and thin sweaters. It was 14°, in this month of February, and the terrace was very little heated. Chris liked it, because she was warm. Phew, the hot flashes that had been coming and going for a week was a real pain.

"Sorry for being late !" Bonnie, who was the latest arrival, apologized. "I had trouble getting Adam ready this morning, Monsieur was not in the mood."

"You need a coffee." Annie said.

"A triple dose." whispered the young mother.

The waiter arrived and took the orders, when it was Chris's turn, who only ordered chocolate chip pancakes for her, a tall glass of juice and a bowl of fruit.

"Well, someone is hungry." laughed Nichelle.

"Yes, I'm starving." Chris said.

"By the way, how come we're all here ?" Ally asked. "Luca told me you had practice this morning and you're not with them. You are… here with us having breakfast."

"Oh, they don't need to worry about a pregnant woman on their missions." replied Chris, who had exchanged a knowing smile with Annie.

"Wh-what ?" Bonnie choked out, one hand over her mouth.

"What did you say ?" Nichelle asked, not without a smile.

"Why would I invite you over for breakfast, when I should be with the boys ?" Chris said.

"This is great news." smiled Ally to her right, who hugged her.

Facing her, Nichelle and Bonnie held out their hands and shook Chris's. They would exchange hugs later. The waiter came back and came back and forth to bring everything as Chris explained to her friends how she found out about her pregnancy, and how pregnant she was.

"I suggest we have a toast." said Annie, raising her coffee mug. "To the future mother !"

"To the future mother !"

Chris couldn't tell if it was the heat or hier slight discomfort, but her cheeks flushed. Yes, it was probably the heat !
