A couple of minutes after flying away, Vee was sitting on the edge of the roof in her bat form looking out at the backyard.

"I thought you would be here," said Oxana while flying over and landing next to her daughter but putting some space between them.

"Sweetkins, I won't force you to talk to me, but you know that you can tell me anything, right?" she asked.

"I'm just confused, mama," said Vee while sitting wrapped up in her wings.

"Poppy is my friend, and I won't lie and say that I haven't thought she's cute and all," she said.

"But you didn't realize that you had been looking at her in that way until someone pointed it out to you, right?" asked Oxana.

"Yeah, and… and now I'm worried about telling her anything," said Vee, tears forming in her eyes as she thought about what could happen.

"Because you think that it may ruin your friendship?" asked Oxana.

"Being gay is not well accepted in the human world like it is in the monster one," said Vee.

"And I haven't talked with Poppy or anyone about that kind of thing, so I don't know how she'll feel knowing her friend is gay," she said.

"Yet alone has feelings for her," said Oxana.

"So, you can see why I'm worried about our friendship," said Vee.

"Oh Vee," said Oxana while using the tip of her wing to make her daughter face her.

"Poppy accepted you as a vampire, and she took well to meeting other monsters faster than what we expected," she said.

"So, I'm sure this won't come between the two of you, even if she doesn't return your feelings, you two will always be best friends," said Oxana.

"Thanks, mama," said Vampirina as she hugged her mother.

"Any time, Sweetkins," said Oxana as she hugged her back.
