"Why would you not tell me that you have a crush on Vee?" asked Edna while standing before her Poppy who was still sitting at her desk.
"Because I had no clue how you would react," said Poppy.
"You don't have the best track record when it comes to surprises, and what could be a bigger surprise than learning that your daughter has a crush on her best friend who is a female vampire?" she asked.
"Okay, I understand where you are coming from with that, but you're my daughter and what I care about most is your happiness," said Edna while resting a reassuring hand on her daughter's shoulder.
"Plus, Vee's a great girl and I can't think of anyone better for you," she said with a smile.
"Thanks mom, but I don't know how Vee will take it when I tell her," said Poppy.
"I'm sure things will turn out fine with her even if she does not return your feelings, after all the things you have been through together nothing can break your friendship," said Edna. Meanwhile, Vee was talking with Demi over in her room.
"So, Poppy was avoiding you at school today?" asked Demi.
"Yes, and even Bridget couldn't think of a reason why she would do that," said Vee while laying on her back in bed looking up at the ceiling.
"And the only thing I can think of is that I scared her with my necklace," he said while moving a hand to grab hold of the mentioned jewelry.
"If that was enough to scare Poppy away you two would have never become friends in the first place," said Demi with a slight chuckle.
"You may have a point with that, but then why was she avoiding me all day?" asked Vee.
"Who knows, humans are strange," said Demi.
"Maybe she has a secret boyfriend and is trying to hide it from you," he said before flying out of the room.
"If that's the case, then what is the point of my feelings?" thought Vee while holding the necklace up so she could see it. After a second, she got up and went over to her desk.
"Guess there's only one thing for me to do," she thought before writing a letter.
