The next morning, Poppy woke up to the sound of her alarm.
"Hm, what's this?" asked Poppy while stretching and noticing an envelope on her nightstand next to her clock.
"How did this even get here?" she asked while picking up the envelope. The second she opened it something fell out onto her lap.
"This is Vee's necklace," said a shocked Poppy while hurrying to pull a letter out which had also been in the envelope. Once she started to read it, Poppy's eyes grew wider as shock sat in.
"Oh no," she said while grabbing the necklace and hurrying out of her room where she rushed downstairs.
"Poppy, what's the hurry?!" asked Edna who had been in the kitchen making breakfast when her daughter ran outside and over to the Hauntley's house where Boris and the others were sitting down to eat without Vee.
"Oh my, Poppy, what are you doing here?" asked Oxana who was surprised by the human's sudden appearance.
"Vee left me a letter last night saying that she's leaving for Transylvania, and she left her necklace behind with it!" said Poppy as she held up both.
"What?!" asked everyone while looking at her with shocked expressions. Demi quickly flew through the ceiling and up to Vee's room.
"It's true, she's gone!" said Demi as he flew back into the kitchen.
"Why would our little bat suddenly run away?" asked Boris.
"I think it's because I had been avoiding her at school yesterday, I must have upset her to the point she doesn't want to see me again," said Poppy while looking down at the floor.
"Ah, because of your secret boyfriend, right," asked Demi.
"What, I don't have a boyfriend, in fact I like girls," said Poppy as she quickly looked up at the ghost. However, any further discussions were cut off by a cracking sound that came from her hand.
"That can't be good," she said while noticing that the necklace had started to break.
"It shouldn't be breaking this fast; Vee's heart must be broken from how sad she is," said Oxana.
"I need to get to Transylvania, now," said Poppy. To this, Oxana used magic to teleport them directly to Nanpire's castle.
