Chapter 35: Death God vs Death Samurai

"It's alright, I gotcha!"
Multiple Security Officers were rushing to make sure that every citizen could get as far away from the Ark Cradle as possible as it was gonna fire a blast in about 2 Hours and 30 minutes.
Ark Cradle – West Path
Kiryu stared down at Sawatari and Gongenzaka as Gongenzaka was still hesitant while Sawatari was determined to win. He didn't want to lose any more Life Points since that will damage Aki. He also figured if Gongenzaka took damage, Rua and Jonouchi would take damage as well.

Field: Abyss Actor – Wild Hope (ATK: 1600, LV: 4, PS: 2), Equip Magic: Abys Prop – Dual Pistol, 1 set card.
"My turn! Draw!" Kiryu drew his card. "I set one card! Then, I activate Infernity Reloader's effect!" Reloader aimed its guns at both Kiryu and Gongenzaka.
"Once per turn, I draw a card and send it to the Graveyard. If that card is a monster, my opponent takes damage equal to the cards Level times 200. But, if it's something other than a monster, I take 500 points of damage." Kiryu revealed.
"He's risking himself taking damage." Jonouchi said.
Kiryu drew the card. "I drew a Monster Card. And its Level is 6!" Kiryu discarded Infernity Destroyer and six bullets hit Gongenzaka while Rua and Jonouchi were electrocuted.

"I end my turn." Kiryu finished with no remorse on his face.
"K-Kiryu…" Gongenzaka winced from the damage.
"I told you. I will do whatever it takes to protect my town. My resolve won't change." Kiryu declared.

"My turn. Draw." Gongenzaka reluctantly began his turn. "I summon Superheavy Samurai Dai-8 (ATK: 1200, LV: 4)!" Gongenzaka summoned a samurai with a wagon. "When this monster is summoned, I can switch its Battle Position!"
Samurai Dai-8 (DEF: 1800, LV: 4)
"Next, I flip my set monster! Superheavy Samurai Soul Shine Claw (ATK 500, LV: 2)!" A giant claw appeared. "This monster can equip itself to a Superheavy Samurai monster and have it gain 500 Attack Points and Defense Points!"
Samurai Dai-8 (DEF: 1800→2300)
"This monster can attack while in Defense Position! Battle! Dai-8, attack Infernity Reloader!" Dai-8 attacked and destroyed Reloader and damaged Kiryu.

"I activate my Trap Card: Damage Gate! I Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard with Attack Points equal to or lower than the damage I took. I Special Infernity Beetle (ATK: 1200, LV 2)!" Kiryu summoned a beetle.
"I end my turn." Gongenzaka finished.

"Gongenzaka, I know what you're trying to do. It's not gonna work. You can't change my mind." Kiryu said.
"But Kiryu, there has to be a way. A way to save your town and this city! I believe it!" Gongenzaka said. "My friends proved that by changing Neo Domino's lifestyle. That's why—"
"There are no happy endings in war, Gongenzaka." Kiryu said. "There's not even victory or defeat. War…is simply nothingness."
"What do you mean?" Sawatari asked.
"In a war, both sides will lose comrades. Even if former side succeeds in defeating the latter, eventually, the families and friends of the latter will come to resent the formers and they will fight and they will win, which in turn will cause the former's families and friends to fight. It will never end, no victory, no defeat, just plain senseless violence. That is war." Kiryu explained.
"Can you honestly expect everything to go back to normal even if you do succeed in your mission?" Kiryu asked.
"I…" Gongenzaka wasn't sure how to answer that question.
"Gongenzaka, don't worry about it. Focus on what you have to do right now!" Sawatari shouted.
"But…" Gongenzaka looked at Sawatari.
"It's hard for me too." Sawatari admitted. "I don't want to destroy that town, but if we lose here, then it's all over for the people of Neo Domino. Not only that, Jonouchi's, Rua's and Aki's lives are in our hands! And I'm not planning to lose anyone today!"
"My turn! Draw!" Sawatari drew his card. "Using the Scale 3 Abyss Actor – Extras and the Scale 8 Abyss Actor – Liberty Dramatist, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Sawatari set his scale with his fiend extras and female dramatic coach appeared. "With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 4 to 7!"
"The stage is set! Now let the spotlights of the heavens shine down on the dark underworld! Pendulum Summon! Come forth! My ace! Abyss Actor – Big Star (ATK: 2500, LV: 7, PS: 3)!" Sawatari summoned his ace.
"I activate Big Star's effect! I can set one Abyss Script card from my Deck to the field. And now, I activate it, Abyss Script – Fire Dragon's Lair! I use it to target Big Star! Now when Big Star destroys your monster, you have to banish 3 monsters from your Extra Deck!" Sawatari revealed.
"Kiryu doesn't have a lot of monsters in his Extra Deck, if this works, then all of Kiryu's strongest monsters will be eliminated!" Gongenzaka thought.
"Battle! Big Star, attack Infernity Beetle!" Big Star charged at Infernity Beetle.
"From my Graveyard, I activate the effect of Necro Gardna! By banishing this card from my Graveyard, I can negate one attack!" A warrior monster protected Infernity Beetle.
"He dodged that…in that case, I won't battle with Wild Hope and use Dual Pistols to destroy Infernity Beetle! Also, you take half of Wild Hope's Attack Points as damage!" Wild Hope fired its guns and Kiryu took damage.

"I end my turn." Sawatari finished. "This guy is tough; it makes me wonder how the others are handling themselves."
South Path – Shun and Ruri vs Kaiser
"Field Magic: Dimension Gates" The Field Magic activated.
"My turn! Draw!" Kaiser drew his card. "I summon Hell Dragon (DEF: 0, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Kaiser summoned a dragon.
"Wait, that's not a Machine-type monster?" Shun was surprised.
"I set one card and end my turn!" Kaiser finished.

"My turn!" Shun was about to draw his card when he got flashes to Cyber End Dragon and Kaiser's intimidating power.
"Shun?" Ruri looked at her brother with concern.
Shun shook his head. "Draw!" Shun drew his card. "I summon Raid Raptors – Vanishing Lanius (DEF: 1600, LV: 4) in Defense Position! When this card is summoned, I can Special Summon another Vanishing Lanius from my hand (DEF: 1600, LV: 4)! I set one card and end my turn!"

"Shun on the defense…that's not like him at all." Ruri started her turn. "My turn! Draw!" Ruri drew her card. "I summon Lyrical Luscinia – Emerald Eagle (DEF: 1800, LV: 3) in Defense Position!" Ruri summoned her little bird.
"I set two cards and end my turn!" Ruri finished.

"My turn! Draw!" Kaiser drew his card. "I activate my Trap Card: Ring of Destruction! This card destroys one monster on the field and all players take damage equal to the destroyed monster's Attack Points! The one I destroy is…Hell Dragon!"
"What?!" Shun and Ruri were shocked when Kaiser destroyed his own monster. The ring destroyed the dragon and all three of them took damage.

"What's with this guy?" Rio was confused. "He destroyed his own monster even though he knew he would take damage?"
"That's just the kind of person that Hell Kaiser." Serena said. "Nothing scares him and he doesn't care for glory. All that matters to him is giving every Duel his all."
"That's what makes him a scary opponent." Dennis leaned in before he started to fall through the barrier. "Whoa!"
"Dennis!" Serena and Ruri pulled him back in.
"Uh oh, I think this thing is deteriorating." Dennis panicked.
"Oh no." Ruri looked back.
"I showed you my Cyber Style, now let me show you the Reverse Cyber Style." Kaiser revealed.
"Reverse Cyber Style?" Shun nerves were getting the better of him.
East Path – Reiji and Tsukikage vs Leo Akaba
"Field Magic: Dimension Gates"
"My turn! Draw!" Leo drew his card. "I end my turn."
"He ended his turn without doing anything?" Asuka questioned.
"My turn! Draw!" Reiji drew his card. "Using the Scale 2 DD Brownie and the Scale 6 DD Magical Savant Thomas, I set the Pendulum Scale!" A fiend with two uneven horns and a savant appeared.
"With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 3 to 5! "Grand power that shakes my very soul, arise within me and become a new light that rends the darkness. Pendulum Summon! Come before me, my monsters!" The portal opened and two monsters came out.
"DD Lilith (ATK: 100, LV: 4)! And DD Night Howling (ATK: 300, LV: 3)!" Reiji summoned two monsters.
"Furthermore, I activate my Continuous Magic: Contract with Surplus Summons! Once per turn, I can send Fusion Materials from my field to the Graveyard, and Fusion Summon a DDD Fusion Monster! I send DD Lilith and DD Night Howling to the Graveyard!" Reiji sent his cards to the Graveyard and both monsters entered the spiraling vortex.
"Strange witness in the dark night! Give a roar that cuts through the darkness and give birth to a new king! Fusion Summon! Be born! DDD Raging Inferno King – Temujin (ATK: 2000, LV: 6)!" Reiji summoned his Fusion Monster.
"Then, I activate DD Brownie's Pendulum Effect! When a monster from the Extra Deck is Special Summoned to my field, I can Special Summon Brownie (ATK: 0, LV: 3) to the field!" Brownie appeared from the Pendulum Scale.
"Next, I activate DDD Raging Inferno King – Temujin's effect! When a DD monster is Special Summoned to my field, I can Special Summon one DD monster from my Graveyard! I Special Summon DD Lilith (ATK: 100, LV: 4)!" Lilith returned to the field.
"I activate DD Lilith's Monster Effect! Once per turn, I can add one DD monster from the Graveyard to my hand!" Reiji got Night Howling back to his hand. "And then, I'm Tuning my Level 4 DD Lilith with my Level 3 DD Brownie!" Brownie turned into three green rings and Lilith flew through them and became four stars.
"Howls that tear through the night. Gain the swiftness of a gale and become the cries of a newborn king! Synchro Summon! Be born! Level 7! DDD Gale King – Alexander (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Reiji summoned his Xyz Monster.
"Then, I Normal Summon DD Night Howling (ATK: 300, LV: 3) from my hand! And with its effect, I Special Summon DD Lilith from the Graveyard (ATK: 100, LV: 4)! But the monster that is Special Summoned from this effect has its Attack and Defense Points reduced to 0.
"Next, using the effect of the Continuous Magic: Contract with Surplus Summons, once per turn, until the End Phase of this turn, I decrease DD Lilith's Level by one!"
Lilith (LV: 4→3)
"I Overlay my Level 3 DD Lilith and DD Night Howling!" Both monsters turned into purple lights and entered the spacelike portal.
"Impregnable invincible king. Now, surpass eternity, and descend! Xyz Summon! Be born, Rank 3, DDD Stone King Darius (ATK: 1900, RNK: 3, OVU: 2)!" Reiji summoned a new Xyz Monster.
"I activate Stone King Darius's effect! By using one Overlay Unit and destroying Contract with Surplus Summons, I can add another Contract card from my deck to my hand! I set one card and end my turn!" Reiji finished his turn.

"Pendulum Summon! Appear! Twilight Ninja Shingetsu (ATK: 1500, LV: 4)! And Twilight Ninja Shogun Getsuga (ATK: 2000, LV: 8)!" Tsukikage summoned two monsters.
"I set two cards and end my turn!" Tsukikage finished.

"Now it's my turn again. Draw!" Leo drew his card.
"I activate my Continuous Trap: Contract with the Eternal Darkness!" Reiji played his card. "Anyone who does not control this card cannot activate Magic or Trap cards that target monsters, also the monsters cannot be used for Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Advance Summoning!" Reiji revealed. "With this, you can't do anything!"
"How naïve." Leo smirked.
"Using two Scale 1 Spirit Reactors, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Leo set his scale.
"What?!" Reiji exclaimed.
"He has Pendulum?!" Asuka gasped.
"I activate the Pendulum Effect of the Spirit Reactor on my left! I can target one Pendulum Card on the field and this card's Pendulum Scale becomes the same as the targeted card! I choose Twilight Ninja Kagen!" Leo pointed to Tsukikage's monster.
Spirit Reactor (PS: 1→10)
"With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 2 to 9! Spirits of the heavens and earth! Cleanse my hands of filthy sins and become the cornerstone of the world! Pendulum Summon! Appear now!" The portal opened and two monsters came out.
"Spirit Tech Force – Pendulum Governor (ATK: 2800, LV: 7, PS: 4)! And Spirit Crystal - Sylphid Core (ATK: 0, LV: 2, PS: ?)!" Leo summoned two monsters.
"He really did Pendulum Summon. Using my scale, no less." Tsukikage looked disappointed.
"I activate Pendulum Governor's effect! Once per turn, I can release one Spirit Crystal Monster on my field in order to use its effect twice! I release Sylphid Core to use its effect! I can select one Magic or Trap Card on the field and destroy it and inflict 800 points of damage to the owner of the card!" Leo revealed.
"First, I destroy Contract with the Eternal Darkness!" Leo destroyed Reiji's card.
"I activate my Continuous Trap: Barrier Ninjitsu - Technique of Hazy Extinguishment! When I control a Ninja monster, any damage that is equal or lower than 800 by a card effect is reduced to 0!" A barrier protected Reiji from taking damage.
"Then, I'll destroy that card!" Leo pointed to Tsukikage's Trap Card and destroyed it, causing Tsukikage to take damage.

"Battle! Pendulum Governor, attack Temujin!" Pendulum Governor fired an attack on Temujin and destroyed it, damaging Reiji.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Leo finished.
"Are you okay, Reiji?" Tsukikage asked.
"Yeah…but…even though this Leo Akaba is fake, he's still strong."
North Path – Yuzu vs Raider
"Field Magic: Dimension Gates" The Field Magic activated.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuzu drew her card. "I summon Canon the Melodious Diva (DEF: 2000, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Yuzu summoned one of her Divas. "I set two cards and end my turn!"
"For someone who was never gonna forgive me, I thought you would be on the offensive." Raider said.
"I'm angry but I haven't lost my cool." Yuzu said.
"Well, maybe this will change your mind. My turn! Draw!" Raider drew his card. "I got some old friends who want to say hi to you two." Raider took two cards.
"Using the Scale 3 Entermate Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix and the Scale 8 Entermate Odd-Eyes Unicorn, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Raider showed his cards.
"Those are!" Yuya exclaimed.
"What is it, Yuya?" Crow asked.
"Those are…my old cards." Yuya said.
Yuya's old Entermate Cards appeared on the field. "With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 3 to 7! Pendulum Summon! Appear!" The portal opened and two monsters came out.
"Entermate Second Donkey (ATK: 1000, LV: 4)! And Entermate Silver Claw (ATK: 1800, LV: 4, PS: 5)!" Raider summoned a donkey and a wolf.
"There's no doubt in my mind, those are the cards Yuya used when we were kids. I loved those monsters." Yuzu admitted. "Now I have to destroy them."
"I activate Second Donkey's effect! When this card is summoned, I can send one Entermate monster from my deck to the Graveyard, however, if I have two cards in my Pendulum Zone, I can add it to my hand! I add Entermate Sleight Hand Magician!"
"Sleight Hand Magician's effect! I can Special Summon this monster by releasing a non-Entermate Pendulum monster on my field! I release Second Donkey! Appear! Entermate Sleight Hand Magician (ATK: 2500, LV: 7)!" Raider summoned a magician.
"This is bad! Sleight Hand Magician can destroy one face-up card on the field by discarding one card from your hand!" Yuya panicked. "And when Silver Claw attacks, all Entermate Monsters gain 300 Attack Points!"
"That means with Silver Claw's 2100 Attack Points and Sleight Hand Magician's 2800 Attack Points, that's 4900 in damage!" Rin realized.
"But where's the fun in that?" Raider questioned. "Let me put a spin on this Duel! From my hand, I activate the Magic Card: Fusion!" Raider showed the Academia card.
"I fuse Sleight Hand Magician and Silver Claw! Magician with the power of misdirection! Become one with the prideful wolf and revive as a new race! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Level 8! Entermate Gatlinghoul (ATK: 2900, LV: 8)!" Raider summoned a monster with a machine gun.
"When this card is Fusion Summoned, I can inflict 200 points of damage for every card on the field, there are six cards on the field, so you take 1200 points of damage!" Gatlinghoul fired its gun and Yuzu screamed as she took the damage.

"Yuzu!" Rin cried out.
"Next, I activate Gatlinghoul's effect! If this card was summoned using a Pendulum Monster as material, I can select one monster on the opponent's field and destroy it and inflict its Attack Points as damage! I destroy Canon the Melodious Diva!" Gatlinghoul destroyed Canon and Yuzu took more damage.

"This man is ruthless. In just one turn he reduced Yuzu's Life Points by more than half and if he attacks…" Jack narrowed his eyes.
"I set one card and end my turn." Raider finished.
"What? He's not attacking?" Crow was confused.
"Come on, I thought you were an Entertainment Duelist. At least try to make it fun for me." Raider mocked Yuzu. "Oh, but wait, your father was the principal of You Show. Man, he was pathetic. And to think that guy was a pro. Well, if you lose it's not your fault, you can blame your weak and stupid father."
"Shut up!" Yuzu growled. "Don't you talk bad about my dad!"
"It's not my fault that the truth hurts." Raider said nonchalantly.
"This man has no morals. He's just toying with Yuzu even though he could've won. He's disrespecting the pride of Duelists." Jack glared at Raider with anger.
West Path – Gongenzaka and Sawatari vs Kiryu

"My turn! Draw!" Kiryu drew his card. "I activate the Magic Card: Zero Max! I can only activate this card if it is the only one in my hand! I can Special Summon one Infernity monster from my Graveyard! In addition, I destroy all monsters with lower Attack Points than it!"
"What?!" Sawatari gasped.
"Appear now, Infernity Destroyer (ATK: 2300, LV: 6)!" Kiryu summoned a fiend. "All monsters with 2300 or lower Attack Points are destroyed!" The giant orb destroyed Gongenzaka's Samurai Dai-8 and Sawatari's Wild Hope.
"During the turn I use Zero Max, I can't battle. I end my turn." Kiryu finished his turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Gongenzaka drew his card. "No matter what you say Kiryu, I still believe that there can be a happy ending! By discarding one Superheavy Samurai monster from my hand to the Graveyard, I Special Summon the Tuner Monster, Superheavy Samurai Horaga-E (ATK: 300, LV: 2)!" Gongenzaka summoned his Tuner.
"Next, I summon Superheavy Samurai Glo-V (ATK 100, LV: 3)!" Gongenzaka summoned another Samurai.
"I'm Tuning my Level 3 Glo-V with my Level 2 Horaga-E!" Horaga-E blew its horn and transformed into two rings and Glo-V jumped through them and became three stars.
"Sword master with dual blades! Appear now and cut down the chains of darkness! Synchro Summon! Appear! Level 5! Superheavy Swordmaster Musa-C (DEF: 2300, LV: 5)!" Gongenzaka summoned a warrior with two swords.
"When Musa-C is Synchro Summoned, I can select one Machine-type monster from my Graveyard and add it to my hand! I add Horaga-E to my hand! Next, by discarding one Superheavy Samurai monster from my hand, I Special Summon Horaga-E (ATK: 300, LV: 2)!" Gongenzaka summoned his Tuner again.
"I'm Tuning my Level 5 Musa-C with my Level 2 Horaga-E!" Horaga-E again blew its horn and Musa-C flew through it and became five stars.
"As fast as the wind! As quiet as the forest! Silent ninja, hit the finishing blow! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Superheavy Ninja Shinobi-AC (DEF: 2800, LV: 7)!" Gongenzaka brought out his shinobi.
"I activate Superheavy Ninja Shinobi-AC's effect! By reducing this monster's Defense Points in half, this monster can attack my opponent directly! Battle! Shinobi-AC! Direct Attack!" Shinobi-AC charged.
Shinobi-AC (DEF: 2800→1400)
"If this gets through, they win!" Aki smiled.
"Go! Gongenzaka!" Rua cheered.
"From my Graveyard, I activate the effect of Infernity Miner! By banishing this card from my Graveyard, I can add one Infernity Monster from my deck to my hand!" Kiryu added an Infernity Monster to his hand as Shinobi-AC struck him.

"Alright! We won!" Sawatari smiled.
However, none of the cards disappeared and suddenly a monster appeared right behind Kiryu as he was covered in dark aura. "I activated the effect of Infernity Death God. When my Life Points hit 0 when I have this card in my hand, I can send it to the Graveyard and Special Summon an Infernity Tuner Monster my Graveyard! Revive! Infernity Beetle (ATK: 1200, LV: 2)!"
"Then, I'm able to perform a Synchro Summon and Dark Synchro Summon using the monsters on my field as material!" Kiryu revealed.
"What?! A Synchro Summon and Dark Synchro at the same time!" Gongenzaka was shocked.
"I'm Tuning my Level 6 Infernity Destroyer with my Level 2 Infernity Beetle!" Infernity Beetle turned into two green rings and Infernity Destroyer flew through them and became six stars.
"The dead and the living...The moment they meet at zero, the demonic dragon will be released from the cage of eternity! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Infernity Death Dragon (ATK: 3000, LV: 8)!" Kiryu summoned a black dragon.
"Then, for the Dark Synchro, the monsters are treated as having negative Levels!" Kiryu revealed. "I'm Dark Tuning my Level -6 Infernity Destroyer with my Level -2 Infernity Beetle Tuning!" Infernity Beetle turned into two black stars and entered Infernity Destroyer's body and six more black stars came out and all eight began revolving.
When the curtain of darkness comes down, the eyes of the underworld will open. Swoop down, darkness! Dark Synchro! Show yourself, One-Hundred Eye Dragon (ATK: 3000, LV: -8)!" Kiryu summoned a dragon with one hundred eyes.
"I don't get it! You should've lost the Duel since your Life Points hit 0!" Sawatari said.
"Infernity Grim Reaper's effect allows me to change the conditions of my defeat. If you want to defeat me, you have to destroy both of my Synchro and Dark Synchro Monsters. However, at the End Phase if one of them still remains on my field, the other will be Special Summoned." Kiryu revealed.
"So, in order to win, they have to destroy both of them on the same turn." Jonouchi narrowed his eyes.
"There's more to it than that. At the End Phase of my opponent's turn, they will take 400 points of damage for every card on their field. Now, Gongenzaka, will you finish your turn?" Kiryu asked.
"I…I end my turn." Gongenzaka finished.
"You have one card on your field, so you take 400 points of damage!" Kiryu shouted as Infernity Grim Reaper cast a curse on Gongenzaka and he felt pain as Jonouchi and Rua were electrocuted.

"Damn it…" Gongenzaka cursed.
"My turn! Draw!" Sawatari drew his card. "This card…" Sawatari's eyes widened as he saw the card. "It's a risk, but if Gongenzaka can figured it out…"
"With my set Pendulum Scale, Pendulum Summon!" Sawatari Pendulum Summoned again. "Revive from the Extra Deck! Abyss Actor – Wild Hope (ATK: 1600, LV: 4, PS: 2)!" Wild Hope came back.
"Next, I activate the Continuous Magic: Abyss Stage – Martial Art Temple!" Sawatari changed the scene so that everyone was in at a temple. "As long as this card is on the field, my Abyss Actors can be treated as the same archetype as my opponent! I treat my Abyss Actors as Superheavy Samurais!" Sawatari revealed. "I end my turn!"
"You just put yourself closer to death! Infernity Grim Reaper's effect! You take 400 points of damage times every card on your field. You have six cards; therefore, you take 2400 points of damage!" Infernity Grim Reaper cast a curse on Sawatari and Aki was electrocuted as they took damage.

"Sawatari, why?! You should have left your field as empty as possible!" Gongenzaka was shocked that Sawatari played so many cards on his field.
"My turn! Draw!" Kiryu drew his card. "I activate the Continuous Magic: The Dark Door! As long as this card is on the field, only one monster can attack!"
"I activate Infernity Death Dragon's effect! Once per turn, I can destroy one monster on the opponent's field and inflict damage to the opponent equal to the destroyed monster's Attack Points! I destroy Big Star!" Infernity Death Dragon unleashed a breath attack.
"From my hand, I activate the effect of Superheavy Samurai Apprentice!" Sawatari revealed the card.
"That card!" Gongenzaka's eyes widened. It was the card he left to Sawatari when he left the team learn Dark Synchro.
"When a Superheavy Samurai monster on my field is targeted by an effect, by banishing all Magic and Trap cards in my Graveyard, I can Special Summon Superheavy Samurai Apprentice (DEF: 1500, LV: 2) and negate the destruction of all Superheavy Samurai monsters on my field and the turn automatically advances to the End Phase!" Sawatari said.
"So, that's why you changed your monsters to Superheavy Samurai. You were supporting your partner." Kiryu realized Sawatari's earlier move. "I end my turn."

"Even the main star needs to let the understudy shine every now and then." Sawatari smiled at himself. "Now, Gongenzaka finish this! This was your card so you know what to do!"
"Sawatari…" Gongenzaka looked at Sawatari. Sawatari then made a dart throw towards Kiryu's neck where the device that connected the bombs to Satisfaction Town. "I see…that's your plan. Forgive me, Sawatari."
"Kiryu, let me show you OUR Steadfast Entertainment Dueling!" Gongenzaka declared.
"Steadfast Entertainment Dueling?" Kiryu questioned.
"My turn! Draw!" Gongenzaka drew his card with so much power.
"From my hand, I activate the effect of the Dark Tuner, Superheavy Commander Oro-Chi! I can Advance Summon this card by releasing one Superheavy Synchro Monster on my field! I release Shinobi-AC! Come forth! Dark Tuner, Superheavy Commander Oro-Chi (ATK: 2800, LV: -9)!" Gongenzaka summoned his Dark Tuner.
"That monster…" Kiryu recognized that monster. Darkness started to surround Gongenzaka and Gongenzaka's darkness appeared.
"You're still a failure. You can never catch up to the others." Dark Gongenzaka insulted Gongenzaka.
"I don't have to." Gongenzaka said, surprising Dark Gongenzaka. "I don't have to catch up, because my friends will come back and support me."
"So, you admit that you're a weakling." Dark Gongenzaka accused.
"Admitting weakness is the first step to becoming stronger." Gongenzaka then grabbed Dark Gongenzaka by the neck. "I will not abandon my Steadfast Dueling, but I will not abandon the help of my friends! Because both, make me strong!" Gongenzaka then absorbed Dark Gongenzaka back into himself and Gongenzaka unleashed a powerful wave of Darkness.
"When Superheavy Commander Oro-Chi is Advance Summoned, all Superheavy Samurai monsters on my opponent's field are summoned to my side of the field and their Levels become -1!" Gongenzaka revealed as Sawatari's Big Star, Wild Hope and Superheavy Samurai Apprentice went to Gongenzaka's field.
"Since my Continuous Magic: Abyss Stage – Martial Art Temple made my Abyss Actors Superheavy Samurai monsters they go to Gongenzaka's field." Sawatari smiled.
"They're doing it! They're working together!" Rua smiled.
"That's more like it." Aki was happy that Gongenzaka accepted help from Sawatari.

Superheavy Samurai Apprentice (LV: 2→-1)
"Here I go! I'm Dark Tuning my Level -1 Big Star, Wild Hope and Apprentice with my Level 9 Dark Tuner, Oro-Chi!" Oro-Chi turned into 9 black stars and Big Star, Wild Hope and Apprentice shot out three more black stars and all 12 stars danced around.
"Supreme samurai that fights for the people that believe in him, unleash your inner power and destroy the power that corrupts society! Dark Synchro! Appear! Superheavy Death Samurai (DEF: 4500, LV: -12)!" Gongenzaka summoned a skinny samurai wearing a dark kimono with a very long katana.
"He's controlled the darkness. He's done it. He's mastered Dark Synchro." Kiryu smiled. "I'm proud of you Gongenzaka, but remember to win you have to destroy both my monsters."
"I know that, that's why I'm activating the effect of the Superheavy Samurai Apprentice that was used as Synchro Material. The Special Summon monster can attack equal to the number of non-Tuner monsters that were used to summon it!"
"That means it can attack three times!" Sawatari added.
"One Hundred Eye Dragon can use effects in my Graveyard, but the only monster effects that I have negate destruction via card effect, not battle." Kiryu said.
"Battle! Superheavy Death Samurai, attack Infernity Death Dragon and One Hundred Eye Dragon! Invisible Slash!" Death Samurai instantly disappeared and then reappeared behind Kiryu.
Then, Infernity Death Dragon, One Hundred Eye Dragon and the device on Kiryu's neck were cut clean in half, ending the Duel.

"Damn it!" Roget hit his desk. "I can't detonate the devices now! Damn you, Dimension Guardians!"
West Path
Aki, Rua and Jonouchi were freed from their chains as Gongenzaka and Sawatari ran towards Kiryu as he laid in defeat.
"Kiryu!" Gongenzaka knelt down to his teacher.
"Well done, Gongenzaka." Kiryu said. "You managed to save both your friends and my town. With this, I'm satisfied." Kiryu stood up and handed Gongenzaka a key. "You'll need this to access Roget's room. Good luck."
"Thank you." Gongenzaka bowed. "Let's go, everyone!" Sawatari, Rua, Aki and Jonouchi nodded and they ran past Kiryu.
And that's one Duel done. Sorry this chapter came out late. I was busy doing Christmas shopping and decorating the house.
