Chapter count: 1/1

Neku wakes up in his apartment, for once, to the smell of something burning. Why is something burning? No one should be cooking anything expect Rhyme, the only person he trusts to cook, the only one who is sane. Even Joshua, who he trusts completely, is not allowed to cook. The one time he let him cook, the nightmares, that was so much worse than the muffins. Then he hears panicked voices which immediately worries him.

"What did you do?!" Rhyme then.

"I didn't think that would happen, yo, I swear!" So it's Beat's fault. Somehow he doesn't believe that. One: he knows Beat and two: his boyfriend is the closest thing to a god and likes fucking with people for shits and giggles.

"Hee, hee." Of course he finds this amusing, "While this is amusing and all, Neku will wake up for the sheer amount of noise that is happening." And that proves his point and the fact that his mind is getting read right now. Why? Thanks Josh, he's already awake thanks to something burning. But what's burning? How non helpful can one person be? Apparently, a lot. And he already knows that and somehow still loves him.

"Then get over here, Prissy-kid!" Thank you, Beat.

"Hmm, why should I?" There it is. The best time to enter. Wait, he's been spending too much time with Joshua. That's something he would say. Never mind. Let's see what's happening.

"Maybe someone could explain to me what is going on here? All I did was fall asleep." And overhear the conversation but they don't need to hear that. And besides Joshua already knows.

"Ah, Neku. There you are." Exactly what he doesn't want to deal with right now. Joshua being bored. That tone leads to bad things.

"Joshua."

"There it is," he coos, "There's that lovely warning tone."

"Joshua." He repeats again.

"Hmm? What's wrong Neku?"

"Why is something in my apartment on fire?" Why is this something he needs to ask?

"Oh, that. Is it really that important?"

"Joshua."

"Well if you must know, somehow a lawn flamingo got inside your oven."

"A what?"

"A lawn flamingo. Those plastic ones."

"But where did it come from?" He knows he doesn't own one and so does Joshua. If he caused this to happen...

"Rhyme brought one the other day." Rindo adds abruptly.

"I didn't think they would stick it in an oven!" Rhyme yells while helping Shiki try to put out the fire.

"Who stuck it in the oven?!" He should have just stayed asleep. Rather deal with that insanity than whatever this is. Well, then let's leave. He then heads out of the room and grabs Joshua's hand. Thankfully, he follows him.

"Why did you bring me here?" Joshua asks as he sees the bedroom.

"I just want to talk to you alone. Now who put the flamingo in the oven?" He says calmly. He isn't mad at Joshua but wants to understand what happened.

"Beat did." Joshua states.

"And why was it in my apartment to begin with?" He know he didn't bring it. If Joshua did-.

"I have no idea." In the most innocent tone he can do. Why is this his life? What did he do to deserve this?

"Joshua." Why, Joshua? He just wanted to have a quiet day. Not much happening. Instead he got this.

"Neku," He states quietly, "I didn't mean to upset you."

"I know," because he does because he knows what Joshua is like, "I just wish sometimes that you didn't do stuff that effects me negatively," and then he adds, "And ask me first," because he knows what Joshua would do. And it confirms it was him.

"I'll-I'll try my best. You know this is new for me." Joshua responds back quietly.

"I know," He responds back just as quietly and because it is bothering him, "Why did you do this?"

"Hmm? Oh, that. I was bored and curious what would happen." And there's the answer he was expecting.

"Please don't do that. Fiberglass isn't meant to be put in an oven." He sighs and Joshua seems to sense the mood and softly gathers him in his arms.

"I don't mean to cause you problems, Neku." He says softly. He doesn't respond but instead cuddles closer to Josh. Joshua seems to understand and pulls him closer. Meanwhile outside of the room, the chaos continues...
