Marinette spent Sunday night at Adrien's apartment, thankful that her earliest Monday class got canceled that week. Unfortunately for Adrien, he had to wake up early enough to attend a 09h00 meeting with his father, then spend the rest of the day at one of the last photoshoots he had to do for the brand.

After the meeting, he found himself wanting to talk to his girlfriend, but he didn't have anything to talk about, and he wasn't even sure if she was awake. It was 09h25 when he got out of the meeting and from what he had learned over the months of her spending the night at his apartment, Marinette preferred to sleep in whenever she had a chance to.

'If we got a hamster, what would we name it?' He was hopeful that the message would come across as being playful instead of being too serious. He reminded himself that they had only been dating a few weeks, but it was hard to focus on that when the information was also joined by the knowledge that they had been partners for years already at that point.

He knew her first class that day was now scheduled to be at 11h30, so he was hopeful that she'd at least smile at the text before going to her class. 'Also, good morning, princess! I love you! '

He felt a vibration in his pocket at 10h00 while he was in the stylists chair that morning. 'Good morning, my prince! I love you, too! Hope your day has been good so far.' A few seconds later, another text came through. 'Maybe we could name it Minou? Minette for a girl?'

'Princess! We can't do that! When we have kittens that will just get confusing! What about if we go with Nocturn? Frightmare is your favorite episode, right?'

'If we're gonna consider Nocturn, how about we add Frightmare to the list? Or Nightmare? Sounds like a good name for a hamster. :P'

The texts weren't in rapid succession, each reply came a few minutes after the last because Marinette had to focus most of her attention in class and Adrien had to give most of his attention to the photoshoot, but they were both happy to just keep continuing the conversation whenever they had the chance.

'I'm sure Nightmare would be a better name than Undergrowth, at least. Are we limiting ourselves to villains? Because I could get behind getting *two* hamsters that we can name after your once OTP.'

'You're the one who started offering supervillains, you dork. If we just get one, though, we could just name it Loneliness.'

'That's cruel, princess. We can't name it Loneliness, even if we do only have one. But, if that's the name we run the risk of giving it, I suppose we can just get two hamsters in the first place… We could name them Skulker and Technus if we get two boys.'

'Paulina and Star if we get two girls?'

'We can get two hamsters and name one Adrinette and one Adrienette!'

'Amazing plan! Or, we can name one Adripace and the other one Renanette to commemorate your date with Carapace.'

'Please no, I'm convinced Carapace and Rena Rouge would magically find out and they would never let either of us live that down. How about we each get one hamster and I name mine Marinette and you name yours Adrien?'

'Or, or, or… I name mine Chat Noir and you name yours Ladybug!'

'I don't want a hamster named after Ladybug, though. What if I get to name mine Multimouse and you get to name yours Aspik (that's the hero name I would've chosen for myself if I'd had the snake miraculous… I may have spent too much time thinking of hero names for if I'd been given different miraculouses)'

'I can name my hamster Stoneheart and you can name yours Horrificator! (the people who turned into those akumas are actually dating and they're so cute, they've been together longer than Alya and Nino)'

'Bubbler and Lady Wifi! The perfect names for our hamsters if we never want to tell Alya and Nino about them!'

'Malediktator and Style Queen?'

'Hawk Moth and Mayura?'

'I think I would literally rather name a hamster after your dad. What about if we name one Johnny 13 and one Shadow?'

'Counteroffer. We name one Shadow and one Sonic?'

'Barry and Benson?'

'Rick and Astley?'

'I'm literally shocked that I'm as in love with you as I am. Please let me name our hamsters Shrek and Fiona?'

'We can't do that, I'm sorry. I would require a third hamster so that we could also have Donkey. Three hamsters feels like it would be too much for first time pet owners. Maybe we should go back to trying to think of singular hamster names, as much as I love the combination names.'

'That's fair, I guess… Okay, if we just want one hamster, we can name it Box Ghost.'

'That's definitely a name! Maybe Ember, though?'

The next text from Adrien came through almost immediately after that one. 'What are you up to when you're done with classes?'

'Nothing on my agenda, why? What's up?'

'I may have been looking through pet adoption websites and I kind of fell in love with a hamster online, so I might have signed up to maybe adopt a hamster today. I was also wondering if you would want to go with me if I were to have hypothetically done something like that.'

'Where should I meet you and how fast do you need me to get there? I can leave here in like 10.'

Adrien responded with the name of the place he'd set up the appointment through and sent her the address. She was happy it wasn't too far from campus, so she would be able to get there quickly after her class ended. As soon as she was dismissed from her class, she ran out of the classroom and found somewhere to transform.

Ladybug bounded over the rooftops to the pet place and arrived within 5 minutes of when she left. She found an alley to transform in and ran over to Adrien who was standing outside the store, waiting for her. He greeted her with a hug and a kiss on the lips, both filled with glee at the concept of getting a hamster.

She linked her arm through his elbow and he led her inside, directing her toward the hamster section of the store. Adrien stopped in front of one of the cages and pointed to one of the hamsters within. "That one," he said excitedly, pointing at the small brown syrian hamster within the cage. "That's the hamster I want."

Marinette looked at the little guy in the cage and she fell in love immediately. She wanted the hamster, or at least she wanted Adrien to have the hamster so that she could pretend that it was hers too. "I love him," she said with a bright smile on her face. "He's precious. Plus, it just so happens that I have the perfect name in mind for him."

Adrien raised an eyebrow inquisitively at his girlfriend and loved the name that she suggested when he prompted her. They found an employee to get them the hamster and went further into the hamster section of the store to find a cage and everything else that their hamster would want or need for the time being, including toys and treats.

The walk back to Adrien's apartment was filled with excited chatter as they discussed their hamster named 'Beware!'
